Baseball drops one to Tennessee

Hey everyone. Auburn lost to the Volunteers tonight by a score of 9-3.

Implications? Not many. We believe the Tigers need one more win to clinch a bid to the Southeastern Conference tournament. Ole Miss beat Alabama (5-4) on Friday, which aided the Tigers' effort. Their magic number had been two.

Hunter Morris had two hits Friday night. One was a homer. Casey McElroy also had a pair of hits. Tennessee's star was starter Stephen McCray, who allowed three runs in 7+ innings of work. He allowed hits. He walked batters. Auburn couldn't capitalize.

The series resumes Saturday at 3 p.m.

  2. Finished working the Biscuits' game. Needed to be in Auburn.

If you were a Cousin Humper, you got carded in Jet's line. Even if you ordered only a Co-Coler.

If you were an Auburn fan, it was smooth sailing.

    Just sayin'.

  6. I'll attribute the loss to those hideous orange jerseys.

  7. I like the color scheme of the Jersey - just not the font of the numbers. Looks too much like what the 'Canes use.

What a day and another busy one coming up! Tylerson graduated without difficulty (after having to pay an 18 cent charge on his bursar account 2 hours before the ceremony, but that's another story). Had a great party to celebrate. I think we had most of the over 70 crowd in Auburn over for lunch. Tyler has done computer work for them and they wanted to celebrate wiith him.

Went to the AU-TN game. Fun time even though we lost :( Getting ready to go pack and load the van and head to Huntsville. Tyler has visions of getting the whole condo packed, moved up there and unloaded today. The optimisim of youth - we'll see!

Have a great day and get us a win in the baseball game.

  13. I'm 99% sure Taylor was successful in his bid to secure a commitment from his lass last night. Has anyone heard officially?

  15. For those that could not make it to the game last night, the UT pitcher was pretty good. He kept AU off balance most of the time. He did give up a few hits, but when it counted he coaxed a double play grounder to end the threats.

  16. AU had their chances though. At one point the core was 4-1 UT and they had 2 hits while AU had 6. One of the 3 runs in the 1st inning homer by UT was aboard due to an infield error. Then he could have been gunned down in a DP, if the SS had not bobbled the ball. Possibly could have gotten out of the inning with 1 run. But, with that being said, AU pitching was its usual subpar self. We walked the bases loaded twice in two different innings and only walk was intentional. Our starting pitcher, Cory Luckie, was sitting on the bench in the 6th inning and took a line drive foul ball off his body. I couldn't tell where it hit him, but it was a shot. He was carted off. No word as to how he is doing.

  19. Congrats, Taylor.

I presume she's a good Auburn girl. If not, I presume she will be soon.

If not, you've got a problem.

  20. She is an OU alum, but a big supporter of me, thus consequently, Auburn.

More importantly, she love Jesus, and that is a thing of beauty.
