What is a dissertation if not a collection of paragraphs?
3004 - only 50% of the people partaking in the conversation at HABOTN 1.0 practice hyperlinking.
only 50% of the people partaking in the conversation at HABOTN 1.0 practice hyperlinking.
And I bet those 50% don't even use protection when they hyperlink.
3005 - pillbug protest
You've made only three posts on the new page, and you've already hyperlinked, bolded, and italicized. Showoff.
3006 - 1000 year anniversary of the richest MJT has ever been. Was loaded with that internship money!
I'm thinking my love for college football may be on the rocks with them employing professionals. We'll see how it goes.
3007 - AU celebrates the millenial anniversary of one for the other thumb
I know how you feel. I stopped talking to my daughter since she started making so much money pet sitting. She's almost as rich as I was during my internship.
3008 - Auburn goes 5-7
I haven't read a newspaper, watched any tv news, or gone to any news web site in over a week. I have absolutely no idea what's going on in the world. It's nice.
3009 - Auburn finally moves to from the NFC West to the NFC South, starting a big rivalry with the Falcons.
We are fast approaching 5,000 posts. I think we'll get there before the next SRO Hv1.0 Puppet Hour.
3010 - puppet palsy pandemic
12 minutes until Puppet Hour!!!! AAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3011 - The Puppet War starts back up
wow, that was some hour. I'm exhausted.
3012 - Planaria file class action suit for thousands of years of preventable chronic traumatic encephalopathy
Didn't care for that other page. Thanks for handling it for errbody, fellas.
3013 - MJT participates in a Jeans Thursday protest.
CALL A CODE! THT just went into cardiac arrest upon refreshing this page.
p.s. I find it hard to believe that was only the second time I mentioned planaria. I'm not sure I can trust Google anymore.
3014 - bubbs becomes Hv1.0 all-time post leader
I had to google planaria. I probably had to google it the last time too.
Feeling good in my Friday jeans today!
3015 - Hv1.0 gets coronavirus.
I nearly froze to death in prison today. I don't know how many coronavirus cases there are in the area where I work, but "the Low", which houses a few thousand inmates, currently has 654 cases, according to third hand info
3016 - it's even worse than we thought. CDC determines that Hv1.0 doesn't have the coronavirus, but has the kahunavirus. OUCH!
College football season was officially canceled today. I'm not surprised.
3017 - After almost a millenium without college football, Rutgers and Princeon meet on the gridiron.
Did you cancel it? When are you going to announce it?
3018 - Football canceled again after the terrible Rutgers-Princeon game.
I announced it two posts back. I don't dilly dally around with the inevitable.
3019 - Greenlanders discover a lost Canadian history archive and invent the game of hockey.
Well I guess everyone will know about the canceled season soon enough. No doubt Feng is writing a dissertation about it right now.
3020 - Hindsight?
if it’s as good as his dissertation on shui feng may win a trophy a tiny bit taller than the ones all the other dissertators receive
3021 - Ancient hind site discovered under Greenland’s two inch thick icecap
I'm settling into the thought of no college football and no 1,000 mile weekend road trips this Fall. Don't tell MrsTHT, but I'm not entirely devastated with that scenario.
3022 - the number of groundhog corpses archeologists discover buried in the northwest corner of the end...er... THT's backyard
I don't think we'll see ~90K people in a stadium anytime soon. That's my suspicion at least.
I have a feeling there is money to be made playing football on the TV, so my bet would be that some amount of college football is played at some capacity in the fall.
3023 - Judith Whataburger becomes the first human to count in nanoseconds, effectively inventing a new time unit.
What do we do to keep things so lively around here? Some people on AUFC want to know.
3024 - Judith Whataburger chokes on a hot dog and dies, taking the nanosecond with her.
A lot of people want to make the football season happen, but I'm skeptical. Either way, I'm sure the bammers will find a way to claim a national title out of it.
3025 - Judithizers try to spread the news of the nano.
Without doubt, the quest for the RoF, or the lofty responsibility for those who have already been initiated, is the great motivator for keeping Hv1.0 so incredibly lively.
The lack of such a noble coterie is obviously the cause of AUFC's woes.
3026 - Judith Whataburger is completely forgotten when Patti Mehlt stuns the world with her picosecond counnting.
I sent a drone over Eurasia yesterday; the Eurasian minions were working hard trying to get all the Irony Day decorations up on time. They know what awaits them should they fail.
3027 - Somewhat poorly thought out calendar realignment permanently adds February 29 and relegates July 9 to Leap Years only.
Can you send me the drone video? It's illegal to put up the required Irony Day decorations. These people are in for it!
3028 - Calendar quirk makes every day July 9. Irony Year!
my bad... the drone misunderstood my voice command. Instead of Eurasia, it flew over Uroguay where they were getting a jump on their Constitution Day decorating. I hope they aren't in for it, too!
3029 - WACKO (World Annual Calendar Keepers Organization) determines that the day "leaped" each non-Leap Year will progress through the calendar one day each non-Leap Year. This move comes after violent threats from long-oppressed February Twenty-ninthers
That's not good. Isn't Eurasia a "guilty until proven innocent" country? MJT will have assume everyone is guilty. Hope the goats don't get it too bad.
3030 - The Dos Equis virus wipes out 95% of the earth's population. The other 5% figure it was for the best anyway.
wow! Two posts on one page. bubbs returning to form. I may have to dust off that RoF nomination form again.
3031 - last jar of whale blubber is stolen from the Smithsonian by an angry hungry dude tired of living in the dark.
Hey THT, are you going to let everyone play football in the spring? Or are you just gonna outright cancel the whole year of football>
3032 - No more whales.
I wish they'd move college football permanently to the spring. I've got way to much other fun stuff to do in the Fall. Have the season start on February 20 every year, in homage to AU's first game.
Happy Irony Day to all the Eurasian Hotties!
3033 - whale sharks get all uppity
Happy Irony Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3034 - O sports where art thou?
Can't wait to get my tickets for the ND @ AU game to be scheduled for Oct 24. Both schools will be looking for a game that day since teams from the BYE Conference won't be playing non-conference games. Of course, I'm counting on Big Ten's Wisconsin giving up their Oct 3 game against ND as well as Alcorn State or UNC giving up their game against AU.
3035 - During the BaloneyVirus Pandemic, AU and ND complete their two game home & home series.
THT, why didn't you just move the football season to the spring and play all the games? Everything will be over by then.
3036 - quarantine everything
I was busy, michael. Somebody had to pull the weeds and I sure didn't see you volunteering.
3037 - all weeds are extinct
Groundhog traps set. Those smart little critters will probably have me locked up in one of them by tomorrow afternoon.
3038 - nothing happened, honest.
only 1 groundhog trapped in two days. But then, I haven't seen any of those critters in a week, whereas one was very frequently up near the house before then.
3039 - a movie based on the recent Mars transport ship disaster never hits theaters due their closure from the COVID-91 pandemic.
Spring football? Will they actually put college football on top of college basketball?
3040 - my current vision
Jeffrey Lee is wrong and Duke+Ramone got it going on. Eat it Bunker
Look at STN bringing the heat and substance in his first post! More posts like that and you may eventually get into the RoF, much to bubbs's chagrine.
3042 - STN passes SFC as Hv1.0's most prolific poster.
Welcome STN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3043 - MJT goes on another beach vacation
Hey THT, how long ago did STN post? did I already miss our big opportunity to add some new blood to this site?
3044 - new blood goes extinct. everyone has to use the old stuff.
I have no idea. It may have been about 100 hours ago, give or take 50 hours. It may even have been in another dimension. There's just no way to know.
3045 - the number of MLB players who tested positive for COVID-19
all those snakes at FC scared me here to my safe space.
3046 - my wish finally comes true. The last venomous snake on earth is killed. Unfortunately, now I have to worry about the army of 3 foot cockroaches.
Welcome, STN!
Looks like you scared him off, Ebro. Nice going!
3048 - A fridge becomes sentient and leads a robot army that destroys half of humanity.
Everything I touch gets ruined!
A hearty golf clap for E-Bro quoting from one of my all-time favorite TV shows.
3050 - 3,340,400th airing of A Charlie Brown Christmas takes top rating for the year.
So much for spending a fortune on AU tickets and scheduling Buy More 24 hr shifts to be off for travel on a few Fridays before AU home games. With my luck, they'll shuffle the schedule for away games on weekends I could actually get to Auburn and we'll end up missing the whole season and they'll end up keeping all of my money. Grrrr
3051 - After recruiting additional computer power, SEC office finally releases revised Fall 2020 conference football schedule.
We'll fix up that Christmas tree for you, Ebro! Though we may never know what happened in 3047 and 3049 because you didn't tell us.
It will be interesting to see how they decide who gets to go to what game. Have they said what % capacity they will allow? I saw aTm was going for 50%. That seems high to me.
3052 - Earth finally defeats the Fridge and it's Robot Army.
The entire athletic dept will collapse under the weight of the grudge MrsTHT will put on them if they don't let her attend AU home games.
3053 - Star Wars XMCVII: The Last Appliance
What a sad world. We're well into August, and I'm not even thinking about football season. I can't see this going well, if they decide to proceed in some manner.
3054 - The futures on smoked meats skyrocket.
I concur with the now-you-see-him-now-you-don't bubbs. Smart move is to cancel it or move it to Spring semester. I don't know if the latter is feasible if all the usual Spring stuff happens.
3055 - Due to shortage of hickory and other appropriate wood, smoked meats become rare and collectible.
To protect my family in this time of covid, I have decided not to play football for Auburn this fall.
3056 - still refusing to play football on account of the covid
Don't tell AllenD.
3057 - MJT tells AllenD.
E-Bro made me chuckle
3058 - AllenD is not chuckling.
I've been so out of the loop. The players who do not decide to play, do they keep a year of eligibility? Even if they've already red-shirted?
3059 - MJT still not playing football for AU.
I saw on twitter the redshirt thing is TBD.
I have not taken a redshirt year yet, so I'm OK either way.
3060 - MJT almost plays football, but still doesn't
This season is so scuffed. I'm sure I'll watch if they actually play, but it feels like a fake season. One or both teams will be without some number of players each game. Small to no crowds. Will anyone be able to play the full (even in it's minimized form) schedule?
3061 - MJT "participates" in spring practice. Fall status TBD.
At least we have real NBA games.
What happens when someone on the team gets covid? Do you forfeit the next couple of games? Thank goodness we have a top-notch audiologist there to keep everyone healthy.
3062 - country still reeling from when coach told MJT to go in last fall, and MJT responded, "No"
Looking more and more like I'll have to settle with 2010 re-runs this year. What are people going to gamble on this fall? Hamster races?
3063 - Eurasian turtle races spike in popularity.
well, bubbs, you can join the high school/college morons and gamble on your life at a COVID-19 party. This bug is still potentially dangerous. How many people are getting stuck with cardiac issues and renal disease from this bug? I don't think all the answers are known yet. I want no part of it. 2010 reruns aren't so bad.
3064 - AU audiologist blamed for team earwig pandemic
Alright, 1.0 Brain Trust. Fall sports signup ends this Saturday. Should I let two youngest play soccer and football?
3065 - Burning down the house
Man, that's a tough call. Jr. is going to run cross country, but I feel like the low time of exposure, low contact, and outdoor environment tipped the scales for me. I would be on the fence about soccer. Football ... I don't think I'd let Jr. play. But that's just me. Curious what doc has to say.
3066 - Sifting through the ashes.
Sign them up for online FIFA and Madden instead. Or steer them towards tennis.
3066 - Hold tight, wait till the party's over.
Cross country for outdoor activity and E-Bro's suggestions for football and futbol
3068 - not even gonna Google to find out what goes here
Don't bother me, I'm watching a riveting soccer match
3069 - historical research confirms that THT was not telling the truth. The soccer match was not riveting.
You know it would interesting if soccer would incorporate literal riveting in their matches.
3070 - "Hey Ya" by Outkast tops the charts
Hey THT, can you believe the Penguins won't be renewing the contracts for three assistant coaches?
3071 - Penguins can fly again due to the thick atmosphere.
No, michael, I can't. I really like all three of them. I'm not sure why they kept the head coach. I like him, too, but the results for 3 straight years have been unacceptable.
3072 - Punt Bama Punt anniversary celebrations never get old.
I think bubbs has higher probability of winning the lottery than I have of seeing him on Hv1.0 today.
3073 - Penguins embedded in atmosphere outsell mosquitoes in amber.
I have faith in bubbs. He'll show up
3074 - bubbs doesn't show up.
Any minute now
3075 - bubbs where art thou?
WAKE UP! You're dreaming.
3076 - Antarctica becomes the most popular destination on the PGA Tour.
Did I win?
3077 - bubbs joins the PGA Tour, but is quickly kicked off when he refuses to wear long pants.
Someone who actually paid for a lottery ticket won the lottery.
3078 - Masters Tournament, played in November for the past 1058 years, is postponed due to heavy snow.
I knew he would show up!
3079 - the lottery now only pays beads and trinkets.
SEC Schedule released. SEC Fans Lives Matter protests follow immediately.
3080 - COVID-79 pandemic results in cancellation of college football season on Mars.
virus is going down in bama. Everything is safe now. Yay!
3081 - Everything is safe on Mars!!!!
Player 2 has entered the game: schools re-open.
Everything is not safe now.
3082 - Everything is safely burning on the sun!!!
UNC sent everyone home but still plans to play fall sports... at least football
3083 - Anoroc virus makes everyone healthy
Got an email from the Football Letterman Club about my season tickets. Believe I will opt out and credit towards 2021 season tickets and then hope and pray for an effective vaccine to hit the market by then.
3084 - Effective COVID-19 vaccine hits the market.
Ummm sure, go ahead and take that vaccine, Ebro. Just like Bill Gates wants you to!
3085 - Bill Gates still rules the world, utilizing robotic body part replacements and feeding off the souls of vaccine recipients.
I'll be working a 24 hr sale at the Buy More tomorrow. E-Bro, we'll have COVID-19 Vaccine Home Kits on sale for $19.95. If you don't have the required Easy Bake Oven, we can sell you one of those, too! Come on buy!
3086 - Mattel Pharmaceuticals takes over top spot on DJIA.
Avs in a world of hurt with goalie and defenseman out. Vegas looked good. Tampa Bay not so much. I really don't want the Bruins or Flyers to win. Other than that, it doesn't matter too much.
3087 - Building on tax increases from the Biden presidency, tax rates have now reached 99%.
Doesn't the NHL let random local dudes play goalie from time to time? Doesn't seem like that big of a deal to lose one, just have a local plumber come in and do a decent job.
30BEASLEY!!!!!!!
How right you appear to be about the Avs, THT. Nuggets fading fast in the NBA playoffs. Another of year of coulda shoulda woulda for the Denver "Spring" sports.
3088 - 3000 BEASLEY!!!
Jinx!
3090 - Rules of Jinx are redrawn.
@michael, yes, they do. The problem is you just can't find a good plumber these days.
@E-Bro, I was so impressed with how the Avs responded last night and was thinking, wow! they can do this. Then I fell asleep and apparently so did they :(
The Stars have been the biggest playoff surprise to me so far.
3091 - No one could interpret the heiroglyphics, necessitating the rules of Jinx to be rewritten.
This comment has been removed by the author.
lol!!!
3093 - laughter, being contagious, reaches epidemic levels and kills millions.
ok, E-Bro, I've got to be at work in 5 1/2 hours, so it's up to you to prevent a 3rd period collapse tonight.
3094 - still no adequate lab test for laughter
I failed miserably, but they won anyway. Went to bed early in the 3rd thinking everything was under control. I can see from the box score now that THAT WAS NOT THE CASE.
3095 -Laughter! Huh. Good gawd, y'all.
didn't Roger Rabbit die of laughter, or something like that?
THT/MJT, you guys would be proud. Completely unprovoked by me, Jr. spent 6 hours drawing a map (Middle Earth). He's also working on coding a Zork like game (C#). All these school hours spent at home is proving to be more useful than spending them in school (they're on a hybrid model).
Sorry, E-Bro, he's done nothing you'd be proud of.
3096 - Who's laughing now?
That's awesome bubbs! Excuse me, I meant, that's awesome, bubbs!
It was 80 degrees at sunrise. That's too hot for my cup of tea.
Laramie forecast calls for a low in the 30s on last day of August. I like it!
I prefer iced tea.
3097 - British golf courses face huge financial losses as a result of golfers boycotting after Parliament passes the tee tax.
Golden Knights, Islanders, Lightning, and Stars all have 3-1 series leads. E-Bro, don't be sad, cause 3 out of 4 ain't bad.
3098 - A bunch of Scottish spinsters dump all golf balls into the Firth of Forth.
Bases on the Nuggets-Jazz series, the Avs have the Stars right where they want 'em. Going seven.
3099 - Guy Fawkes travels through time and blows up Parliament. Tee tax overturned. Remember, remember...
Go Jazz! Gotta root for my boy Mike Conley.
That's pretty cool your son is getting good at programming, bubbs. None of my kids have been all that interested in that side of life (which isn't the worst thing, because having a kid who is better at computers than parents would complicate things I imagine).
3100 - Dance like nobody is watching
Ah, who doesn't delight in that slightly less stale aroma from turning one's gaze to the facing page.
3101 - THT never danced, cause he knew somebody was always watching.
Am I not your boy, too, MJT? You don't even know Mike Conley (I don't think). You know me (sort of)! We live in the same city! Conley don't play for the Grizz anymore. He's moved on. You should too.
Those sunset jersys of the Jazz are fire, though.
3102 - I hope you dance.
Ebro, you are definitely my boy too, and the moment you make an NBA team, I promise to exclusively root for that squad.
3103 - Root Squad gets ambushed by Branch Team!
The Nuggets take an ugly one to win the series (what was Murray thinking on that last second breakaway?), the Avs still have life, and the Rockies are...hey, how bout them Nuggets/Avs?!
3104 - I am root.
That game ended the worst way possible. My boy Mike Conley kept missing shots, then passed up some shots, then had a decent look to win the game... and it rimmed out. I was ready to go crazy if he made that shot. Instead I screamed "NNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!"
Sports are back!!
3105 - Sports disappoint MJT again
The ending to that Bucks-Heat game last night may have been even worse.
Avs took it to to seven, THT, who ya got?
3106 - Sports disappoint MJT again.
Avs certainly have momentum, and Stars highly uncharacteristic offensive firepower has quickly burned out. Avs in 7!
I do not want to see Philly make it to a 7th game, nor do I want to see Canucks make it to a 7th game.
3107 - in an effort to rekindle dwindling fan interest, NHL reverses order of playoff series, starting each series with Game 7.
Don't know if you guys heard, but the pandemic isn't real. Someone forgot to carry the 1, or got their terms wrong, or ... something.
3108 - JH replaces all the seats, outside of the student section, with web cams.
How about those Nuggets, Ebro? I'll be rooting for them in Game 7 (which means they are doomed, sorry)
3109 - The REAL coronavirus finally hits, but no one believes it because of the fake one from 2020.
Yeah, it's been wild with how this team has responded twice in a row to 3-1 deficits. One thing to do against the Jazz, but didn't see it coming against the Clippers. Felt like Murray lifted them (until Game 7, anyway) against the Jazz. Now it's Jokic's turn with the Clips.
Alas, MJT hates beautiful things. First, those beautiful Jazz sunset jerseys went bye-bye (which I was for), and now goodbye to the Nuggets rainbow jerseys (which I am against).
3110 - Turns our the REAL coronavirus was fake.
NBA was awesome last night!
Hoping for a Heat-Nuggets finals
3111 - Know that we have always been down down1
Yeah, that was fun. The best game winning/saving block I've ever seen followed by the Jokic/Murray show. The Jimmy Buckets/Tyler Herro show has also been fun to watch, but in a completely different way.
3112 - Amber is the color of the future's energy.
The Heat is so dang likeable. Jimmy, Herro, Bam, Dragic, they all make me happy.
I remember when Herro was at Kentucky, I thought he should shoot it just about every possession for them. They used him a lot, but he was till underused.
3113 - trust your instinct and let go of regret3
Y'all still haven't gotten this to 5,000? What are you wading for? Oh, that's right, it's Sally's fault.
3114 - rats, missed the palindrome post. The regret is real.
Don't despair, THT! We're only 108 posts from another palindrome post!!!!!
3115 - Don't stay home this time5
Given this bender you're going on, MJT, you may enjoy this article I read a few months back.
https://music.avclub.com/betting-it-all-on-311-1842909705
3116 - I'm feeling it right now.
This comment has been removed by the author.
What's your best theory on why she was escorted out?
I liked that 311 read, Ebro. Always liked their radio songs, but never got their albums or anything... good to see they're still kickin it positive style.
3118 - only knowing their radio songs, I am unable to quote more 311 without cheating
I have absolutely no idea. She's a mom/wife and as far as I know plays by the rules. Years ago one person was escorted out and rumor was U/A was positive for marijuana. Due to COVID, we didn't have U/A this year. As contractors, it's none of our business so we aren't told anything. The radiation therapist also got an unannounced escort out several years ago; don't know why.
3119 - Farewell Tour9 attended only by michael and E-Bro
I'm pretty much just a 311 radio song guy myself....EXCEPT for Soundsystem. That album has a special place in my heart and it's one of those albums that defines certain segments of your life, whether you wanted it to or not (I didn't mind in this case)
I spent winter/spring of my senior year in high school doing indoor drumline, driving back and forth to Nashville/Lawrenceburg every weekend. Soundsystem kind of soundtracked our downtime from rehearsal, whether in the background while we hung out or actively (we put together a bass ensemble to one of the songs on the album). Just a fun album with a bunch of cool licks, especially if you were 17 going on 18 and you're spending every weekend hanging out with 20-30 of your closest friends.
3120 - 311 is dead. Long live, 311.
Good thing you deleted that post with her name, THT. She might have checked this page at some point and saw us talking about her.
I have albums like that too, Ebro. Always fun to revisit music that is also a memory.
3121 - party time
She was probably torrenting 311 albums on the prison's network.
3122 - Cleaning up after the party.
that would be a very valid reason, bubbs.
Tired brains sometimes laugh at things out of proportion to their funniness. Such was the case last night. It was after 11pm when I crawled in bed and smelled something perfumish. I asked MrsTHT, do you have Avon Skin so Soft on? (That would have been unusual since she only uses it as a bug repellent and she showers whenever she comes in after having it on, plus it was too cold for bugs on her walk last night.)
Her reply, "It's nail polish remover. I used flavored acetone."
It took me several minutes to stop laughing enough to where I could tell her what she said.
3123 - teenagers discover that flavored acetone goes well with Tide pods.
How bad do yall think Kentucky will beat us tomorrow?
3124 - Auburn beats Kentucky in everything.
after reading all the glowing reports of Kentucky's NFL caliber trench warriors, I'm not sure we have a chance. We could lose by 18.
3125 - UKentucky athletic endeavors relocate to the NAIA.
I actually think we lose this game. Not gonna say that over there, though. Don't want to rain on anyone's fresh season sunshine.
It's 2020. Not gonna start thinking good things are around the corner for a while yet.
3126 - Kentucky creates pandemic in an effort to cancel athletic contests.
We could win by 18, or we could lose by 18. I think Kentucky will be pretty good if they are healthy. We didn't have an overwhelming OL last year, and none of the projected starters are true freshmen but (excluding Brahms) obviously weren't good enough to start last year, so I have good reason to doubt.
3127 - US govt keeps quiet until pandemic hits China.
Never a doubt (except when there was in the second quarter and early in the fourth). I'll take it!
3128 - President of the People's Republic of China bemoans the Lexington Virus.
I want to see a running game this weekend. I also want to see Pegues catch 4 passes.
3129 - in an effort to make amends, the US sends the President of the People's Republic of China some Lexington Barbecue.
Pegues running his little heart out in pre-snap motion is the best thing about this offense.
So last night as I was about to leave work, my ears got all clogged up and i got dizzy and lightheaded and my head hurt and i got nauseous and I had to wait around for about 2 hours before I could drive. Hasn't ever happened to me before, I definitely don't recommend it. Hoping it doesn't happen again today.
3130 - dance party
That's scary, MJT. Hopefully it's just one of those unexplainable but harmless quirks of getting older.
3131 - dance revolution
I recommend you pierce your ear drums.
That will guarantee the pressure stays equilibrated. But don't blame me for your cholesteatoma.
3132 - 33343536373839
The NBA Finals has lost its luster a bit with the Heat suddenly becoming a MASH unit. Doesn't look great for Dragic = Doesn't look great for the Heat.
Hopefully Adam Silver stipulates that Lebron and AD can't be on the floor at the same time from here on out as some kind of equalizer.
3133 - Warmest year on record.
As someone who's had plantar fasciitis, hearing that Dragic has a torn plantar fascia makes my skin crawl. And he was playing so well! Just not fair.
Adebayo kept holding his hand at the end of the Boston series, so there is something going on there. Butler's ankle was definitely bothering him. Just a bummer.
After having some truly great Cleveland teams run into Golden State again and again, I guess it's fair that Lebron is getting the easiest run to a title of all time this year.
3134 - Record year on warm
Yeah, I don't begrudge Lebron anything, especially after that first series against the Warriors when he played perhaps his best Finals series ever with Cleveland down Kyrie and Kevin Love.
3135 - Year of the Pig.
Leicester is off to another good start.
3136 - adfkjlafjkl;eruwopweruopd;flja
...at least they were until LB's team got ahold of them this past weekend.
Our best chance to win another game this season may not be until December. Unfortunately, we may not show up for the aTm game one week after a beatdown in T-loser.
3137 = due to inexplicable contract extensions and poor negotiating, CGM's buyout now tracks the national debt.
I forgot that LB is forever blowing bubbles.
Never tell me the odds!
3138 - Gus Bus gets an oil change. Now good to go.
The game against Arkansas is in the bag.
3139 - Bag heist! WHO TOOK THE BAG?!?!?
44 yo healthy male gets belly CT due to flank pain and suspected kidney stone. Belly is completely normal looking but bottom of lungs are included and show COVID-19 pneumonia. Patient has no fever, cough, or respiratory symptoms. ER doc doesn't believe CT report but reluctantly orders coronavirus test before discharging patient home, stating can't figure out what's causing flank pain. Once test results come back, nurse calls patient later that night to let him know he has COVID-19. I don't care how many people don't get real sick and I don't care how many people recover (or at least think they've recovered). I do not want this bug. Keep it away from me!
3140 - Even the ghost of THT is still running scared from the coronavirus.
I'm right there with ya, THT. I'm still pretty much carrying the same habits as I was when this thing first started and lockdown procedures were stricter. I don't go out to eat ever (besides takeout/curbside) and don't go out in general except for groceries or other occasional, menial tasks. I wear my mask the rare occasions when I AM out.
Only thing I've slackened procedure on a little bit is that I HAVE hung out with with groups of four or five friends a bit more often, but we try to practice safe, social distancing practices.
I'm not dogmatic about it or anything. I don't criticize (too badly) those not adhering to my stricter regimen, but I try to be mindful of not spending too much time indoors with such folks if I can help it.
3141 - Ghost of E-Bro says Hi!
I'm with you guys. Have no interest in the Covid experience. Unfortunately, that tends to put me on the fringe side of most my circles. Seems most people are tired of keeping the recommended practices 100% of the time.
Which if you're not an introvert, I get it. Living this way for a year can really take a toll on some people's mental health.
3142 - Ghost of bubbs waves at a safe distance.
Fine, I'll be the contrarian. I would LOVE to have coronavirus.
3143 - the ghost of mjt still relishes coronavirus
Saw something on the news about the first confirmed case of a person dying from their second infection of Covid.
That doesn't give me warm fuzzies about a vaccine. I've also made note that the infections are on the rise, but the death rate hasn't tracked with it. The implication being the most vulnerable have already died from it.
3144 - The ghost of MJT catches Covid again. He's excited about it.
I could live in a hiding-from-COVID world without much human interaction for a long long time and it would have no ill effect on my already disturbed mental health. I do want to get back to Wyoming, and don't really have time to drive there. That's about all I've missed thus far.
3145 - Vatican's holy water turns out to be more effective than the COVID vaccines.
Over 38 million people have gotten covid. A handful have gotten "reinfected." I think reinfection is still a pretty remote possibility at the time being, perhaps even within the realm of measurement error. At worst, it appears the vast majority of people at least get some months of immunity, which a robust yearly vaccine program should be able to replicate. And there's still a solid shot at more permanent immunity being the norm.
I should note that our president has deemed himself immune (and also a Macho Man), and given that he has access to the best medical information available, I think it must mean that you are almost always immune to Covid-19 after recovering from it.
3145 - Ghost of MJT is immune to your negativity!
Fair points. Could it be like chicken pox where you can get it more than once, but there's still a vaccine that inoculates you once for all? Maybe. Or is it more like the flu?
I really hope it's the former. I'm just cautiously pessimistic, so I'm not taking it as a given. Most of the the media and general population seem to be assuming a successful vaccine is a silver bullet. Or at least they're working under that premise. Once we have one, it will all be over.
3147 - Covid is in the bag!
Clint Eastwood's blank revolver from OJW is up for auction. You boys gonna pull them pistols or whistle Dixie?
3148 - unfortunately it was not an N95 bag.
You should take a little out of your map auction fund and go for it, THT!
3149 - circa 2084 Price-Strother-Frankenheimer-McMoron map auctions for a measly 3 trillion dollars.
If I did, MrsTHT would probably use it to shoot me. But hey, it only shoots blanks! Where's that bid form?
Actually, I'm still too busy paying for my W-S "mistake" to worry about a little pistol.
3150 - due to destruction of their natural habitat, troglodytes move to Huntsville's subway tunnels.
What's next? A JGT sighting on Hv1.0? It really must be the end times.
3151 - real end times; 2020 was just a practice run
JGT reads 1.0 every day. I'm sure of it.
3152 - still the end times
Where else would you get all the inside scoops?
3153 - People start getting frustrated at the length of this ending.
Anybody watch any good sports games recently?
3154 - This is the end, beautiful friend
sports games? West Ham set a premier league record for latest erasure of a 3-0 deficit. They didn't score their first goal until the 82nd minute and managed to get their 3rd with less than a minute to go. But it was soccer, so no one really cares.
3155 - 1200th anniversary of the famous double die
West 'am came from 3-nil down in the 82nd minute to snatch a point, you say? You're 'avin eh laff, mate, taking the mickey, arennt ya?
Blowin' bubbles? More 'ike blowin' smoke up mu arse.
3156 - EastEnders cancelled.
I heard through the grapevine that Feng and Hunter are really tight.
3157 - it's all still under the rug.
Wan that apreel that shoreh soota
3158 - Did I ever tell you guys about the time I tried to memorize the intro to Canterbury Tales by playing the CD track on repeat while I slept the night before the oral exam? It didn't work. I got a D.
I've probably told that story at least twice around here or there. Sorry for the repetition, when you hang out with a crowd for 12 years, there's bound to be some redundancy.
3159 - real end times; 2020 was just a practice run
probably a lot fewer times than I've repeated myself on here. It's not that I forget I've said it, I'm just convinced that y'all aren't listening.
3160 - THT repeats everything he's ever said on Hv1.0; it runs longer than Canterbury Tales, only difference is, michael makes an A.
Hey THT, just realized last Friday was the 10 year anniversary of the time we hung out and watched Cam Newton run wild on LSU. Time flies!
3161 - Time sinks
And good times were had by all... all except the Corndogs. And Feng, of course. We should have never encouraged him to try those Ball Park Franks.
3162 - AU's deficit in the LSU series grows to 318 games.
What's everyone going to be for Halloween this year?
3163 - Warmest Halloween on record.
What am I going to be? I'm going to be in Winston-Salem, minding my own business. And my business will be watching college football.
3164 - Mask mandate finally lifted
Hey bubbs, who are you voting for?
3165 - Vote goat
Make sure you tell me by about 4:00 pm. I've decided to vote for whoever you vote for.
3166 - President Kanye
Third party candidates are wild. I was going through this one guy's platform that I agreed with pretty well, and then he casually mentions a couple of times that the constitution was divinely inspired by God.
3167 - President Poop
Anybody know bubbs' login info? Asking for a friend.
3168 - President Bubbs-Bro.
I voted for Brian Carroll. Felt like I was most aligned with his views, though, I did consider the Libertarian option. Never saw where he thought the constitution was divinely inspired... Hope that wasn't him. But if it was, oh well. I don't think he's got a real good chance of getting elected anyway.
3169 - President Bubbs-Bro makes America rebellious again.
I voted for Dr. Slats Cabbage. He organized Div 1-A football at ASTC in the 70s and kept tuition very low. He's the best!
3170 - Students trying to research the historical figure, Brian Carroll, find absolutely nothing.
Hmm. Maybe I voted for the wrong guy. THT might have been on to something: https://aspenhistory.org/aspen-state-teachers-college/
3171 - Dean of Destruction runs for president.
The divine inspired dude was Todd Cella (he has like 200 likes on facebook... I'm telling you, I was digging deep today).
That's funny you said Brian Carroll, because that's who I settled on in the vacuum left by your delayed instruction. I disagree strongly with distributism as an economic system, but I was good with pretty much everything else he stood for, so he'll work as a protest vote.
3172 - Someone finally installs new batteries on HABOTN 1.0, so Brian Carroll returns to the internet as a historical figure.
With BEASLEY!% of the votes counted in North Carolina, Trump is up by a smidge. This info seemed relevant.
3173 - president Beasley
I went to bed early last night and woke up to a nightmare.
3174 - ASTC is still undefeated against ua-t
They're still counting votes, MJT. Our boy, Brian, might still have a shot!
3175 - Nothing happened.
Well those libs and conservatives counting the votes are probably throwing out all the Brian votes because of how scared they are that he'll win.
3176 - Quattuordecentennial!!!
Postpone errything.
3177 - postpone
My calves hurt. Coronavirus?
3178 - hey hey hey
Probably, but we'll need a urine sample to be sure.
2179 - ho ho ho
My calved feel better today. Kinda cool how I whipped coronavirus this fast. I'm a regular Donald Trump.
2180 - whip that coronavirus!
Glad your young cattle feel better today, MJT. I didn't even know corona was an issue for livestock.
2181 - Pecan Pie topped with whipped corona virus is the hit desert for Thanksgiving.
anybody else watching the Zips and Flash?
3182 - Bubbs and miceahl build a special Delorean and return to the future
making thanksgiving decisions today. this is stressful.
3183 - bubbs and miceahl have cooler dads since meddling in time.
well, duh, it's always stressful when you wait until the week after Thanksgiving to make those decisions.
3184 - To relieve stress, Congress passes a law that establishes Thanksgiving as a randomly assigned day, announced on that morning.
We made the call, last weekend, to opt out of the Thanksgiving get together (40-50 extended family gathering). Was a tough call, but felt it the right move. Got a text from my parents yesterday saying the whole thing was canceled.
3185 - Dominion software cancels Thanksgiving.
I decided we would go ahead and hang with my sister's family next week. I strongly encouraged my parents not to come, which kind of sucks. They've decided to do Thanksgiving with my Aunt's family, who are a bunch of anti-mask covid-ain't-no-biggie people. I figure they might actually be safer with our crowd, so I will prob invite them back today.
Hope no one dies.
3186 - some people die.
Just going to be 4-8 us of next week. My parents, sister, and I and possibly my brother's family, though I'm kind of hoping they opt out. We'll see.
3187 - Still waiting to see.
Eddie opted out.
3188 - No longer waiting to see.
Messed up a Beasley. I'm sorry, THT.
3189 - Hellooooooooo, Kennesaw, Georgia!
Your sins are forgiven. When I saw it had hit 3189, I wondered who might have come through in the clutch. Alas, I was disappointed. But you gotta know that Scottie B is awfully proud!
T'giving will be just MrsTHT, LB, 2.0, grandpuppies, and moi. And for that, I'll be extremely thankful.
3190 - I'm Fairley certain we can get this to 5000 by the year 5000.
Apparently my parents are mad at me.
3191 - BEASLEY!!!!!!
Your THT step-parents aren't, not that it helps.
3192 - latest fad? Casting pearls before swine.
Erryone survive Thanksgiving?
3193 - Mutant Pearl Swine!!!!
I'll let you know in 7-14 days.
3194 - Heroes in full shell...Pearl Power!
Here!
3195 - I'm no longer here
Who's excited about our aTm-Miss St Amen Corner this year?!
3196 - After an investigation, it is determined that the Mutant Pearl Swine got THT.
But I took the vaccine!
If you determine a measure of units for the fans' level of excitement, I'm guessing that, to measure how much more excited the players are, you'd need to calibrate your measure-ometer to nano-units.
3197 - Nano-unit measure-ometer developed to determine distance to next page flip.
Right now, it looks like we need a light-year measure-ometer to determine distance to next page flip.
3198 - 4001st post finally starts a new page. Feng is the only surviving Hv1.0er to see it. Congrats, Feng! Somebody give that man a hot dog!
I never expected us to have such a struggle to get to a page flip. I just don't think we're gonna be able to do this without Norm.
3199 - a single charter member, Norm, is elected to the newly established Page Flip Hall of Fame in Page, Nebraska.
finally, close enough to get a whiff of that new page smell. I know it's here somewhere.
4000 - good riddance to this page
I took the road less traveled. Now I don't know where I am. GPS says I'm at New Page. Someone needs to send Norm a password reset.
3201 - 5000 is now clearly in our sights, thanks to the new Double Hubble Telescope
As the only person in attendance on Hv1.0 for the past 18 months, I claim all authority over Ring of Fire nomination, election, and janitorial duties. On such basis, I hereby nominate and unanimously elect bubbs to the Ring of Fire, Class of 2023. Feng fell just one vote short of joining bubbs in the 2023 class.
3202 - Historians discover that the 2023 election form was never signed or properly notarized.
Fake news! Dominion voting machines inflated bubbs's vote totals!
3203 - Ring of Fire burns
