On Kodi Burns
Hey everyone. I have re-worded my entry from earlier today about Kodi Burns. You can find that below in the "Looking Back on Saturday" section. Without going into details, I'll say there is some credible dissent about what play was called when Burns made the laser throw to Rod Smith against ULM.
If this situation changes and I get some clarity on the matter, I'll pass it along.

What gives? What is the issue and why is it an issue three weeks later?
I've now heard differing reports on what exactly happened on that play, so I thought it was worthwhile to let you all know that.
So was Kodi just improvising or what?
Like I said: I'm not sure.
My recollection is that the snap from center went awry and that Kodi had to improvise...
Kodi did have to pick that snap up.
Jay,
Let me ask you how many times in your years of covering AU and the QB's (Laird, Cambell & Cox)that they either call the wrong play, run it to the wrong side, audiable to the run blitz, etc? There just seems more to it than running the wrong way on a play. I cannot believe that this steems from "one" play. Just hard to swallow.
Jay G,
Just heard on JOX radio in B'ham that Kodi met with Coach Tuberville yesterday (again) and was told that he would receive AT LEAST 50% of the snaps in practice this week, and AT LEAST 50% of the playing time against LSU. You heard anything about this? If true, I feel much better.

Oh, it's definitely not one play.
The thing is ... Kodi seems more at peace with this deal that I expected. Maybe he knows there are holes in his game that need to be addressed.
I have not heard that about Kodi getting 50%.
