I'm not sue how old a lot of us peeps are, but unless there is some dramatic change in this ballgame, I will witness something that has never happened in my lifetime. How depressing...
A turnover couldn't even save Auburn tonight. This one is done. This team is completely without chemistry. It all started last spring with the hiring of Tony Franklin and a signature from Chris Todd.
Sensible, not one phase of our game is coming correct. Auburn just lost to Vanderbilt for the first time since 1955. This in an era when Auburn Football has been one of the nation's elite programs for the past decade.
Guys. It's over when you can't move the ball, when the O-line can't block. It's done.
Auburn is out of the picture in terms of any type of championship. Like I said all week, this doesn't get fixed overnight. Those expecting a miraculous turn around almost saw it but the running game was short lived.
Auburn is 4-2 and it won't be long before they're 5-3. This is a 7-5 team and maybe 8-4 with some luck somewhere along the way.
Auburn is now the laughing stock on the SEC...officialy.
Unbelievable. Hello, Tuberville-it's time to do something. Auburn just lost to Vandy thanks to your idiotic hire. I'm with Barkley-Troy's looking pretty good. Todd shouldn't set foot on another SEC field. Go play for the PAC 10-this is the * SEC!!!
I don't think Todd or Kodi should play. They both suck. Play Caudle or give Trotter a try. Fire all offensive coaches, let Rhoades be the interim head and let the GA's run the offense. I'm not drinking. I'm serious as hell.
Neither Todd nor Burns is the guy. I will say yet again that I don't think the problem is Tony Franklin. He hasn't been given a fair shot yet.
I believe the problem is Hugh Nall, Eddie Gran, Steve Emsminger and Greg Knox. Mainly Nall. The offensive line is terrible. Think about it people. It follows a pattern. Other than head coach, those are the constants on our coaching staff.
I've been on my "Nall must go" kick since at least 2002 and am not getting off of it any time soon. Of course, this is a fan who's never been a big fan of Tommy Tuberville.
Tomorrows news conference will read as follows. CTF: Well Hell Im not happy I would boo too. I looked at the film and I was nothing that Chris did that would not want him to start for us next week.. Burns is a good QB but he just don't make his reads.
CTT: We had our chances. We just gotta keep choppin that would. We will continue with Todd at QB but hey Kodi will play he is important to our offense and our program.
The bottom line is we got a QB that can't throw a QB that has happy feet and receivers that can't catch.
Phred I couldn't agree more. The Auburn family was sold a bill of goods with CTF and his "system". Maybe I should develop an offensive system that is FUBAR and sell it for big $$??
Shouldn't we have been able to see improvement SOMEWHERE between LaMo and tonight's game? Okay so there are some injuries, but our team looks and plays like they are absolutely lost. With the exception of the first quarter when we ran 5 different plays for 2 touchdowns
You would think we learned our lesson in the mid ninties with Tiny Terry's offense. That was our first experience with a spread offense. It got us no where. But we are trying it again. I would hate to burn Trotter but heck Coddle needs to be looked at now. CTF has not credability in his evaluation of QB's it is time for a major change. I coulld put up with losing the rest of the games if we could just find some kind of leadership on the offensive side.
Both the games we've lost have been to backup quarterbacks, yet neither of our first two are good enough to beat a quality opponent. This leads me to believe that a lot of teams have qbs riding the pine that would be starting at auburn, yet we can't find them.
CTF reminds me of the 10-year-old I played in NCAA Football 09 on the PS3. Running the same shotgun spread crap over and over without a clue. We succeeded running the I in the first quarter. You don't scrap the entire formation because Vandy adjusted to it; you tweak it and don't just totally blow it up. This is a joke. Shug Jordan is turning in his grave watching this clueless offense.
And we aren't going to be the last team that gets beat by Vandy. They are ranked for a reason. They are going to beat Tennessee and another along the way with their first bowl appearance in forever.
You make a good point Hoopie. Auburn was "desperate" to do something after St. Nick came to T-Town and shook things up. CTT thought the spread was that something. It may be helping in recruiting this year but it sure as hell isn't helping on the field.
Fellas, enough of calling for tubs head. Jeez. Franklin is fair game, but Tuberville has been awesome for us.
I don't know even know what to think. It's obvious to me we don't have good receivers or qbs. That's bad for a team that insists on passing.
Also, did anyone else notice how horribly Pybus played? If he doesn't get on the field, I am convinced we win. I have never seen a lb out of position os many times in my life.
ok, once we got down did any of you really think we could come back, in my delusional mind I had hoped Byrum would redeem himself with a winning fieldgoal, but then i remembered we would need to get a first down for that to happen.
I am listening to the call in show, I respect Q. Riggins, great guy, Stan White, is an apologist, Rod Bramblett is such a whiny apologist, if i saw him in person he would totally kick him in the balls, what a dbag.
The problem I have with broadcast crews is that they can't really say what they want to. They are paid to be cheerleaders and it's pretty nauseating at times like this. You'll never really hear them be critical of a coach.
It's a tough call on firing Franklin midseason, I think it'd be hard to fire a high profile replacement after letting the last guy have 6 games to prove himself, on the other hand, how do you let this continue.
Folks, CTF aint the problem. That is not his offense that we are running. We don't know what offense we are running....if you are going to go to the spread, go to it and get all of the offensive coaches on board or change them out. CTF is being sold out and undermined by the other coaches on the offensive staff. The offensive line is confused, the running backs are confused and we are confused. Vandy hasn't beat us since Ike was pres and there is no way they have more talent. Kodi aint the savior either. Earn your salary Tubbs and decide which offense you are going to run and stick with it.
This is surreal.
ReplyDeleteAnd the implosion continues...
ReplyDeleteAnother penalty?
ReplyDeleteWhat's the tally so far, Jay G.?
Wow. Another penalty.
ReplyDeleteAnd ... as an added bonus ... Pugh had another poor snap on the 3rd-down play.
ReplyDelete11 penalties.
ReplyDeleteWow. Is it Pugh's shoulder or just something else?
ReplyDeletewhy not go back under center like the 1st quarter for a bit? that was the only real offense we had today and then abandoned it
ReplyDeletewow, get the ball on the 50. punt it away so they get it on a fair catch, a fair catch, on the 30.....
ReplyDeletespeechless
wow, get the ball on the 50. punt it away so they get it on a fair catch, a fair catch, on the 30.....
ReplyDeletespeechless
I am curious what the MCP will be on the change of offensive strategy this week - win or lose.
ReplyDeleteor the war eagle formation...at this point what would it hurt?
ReplyDeletei hope this doesn't come down to a byrum field goal
ReplyDeleteI'm about one series away from going on a bike ride. Screw it.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sue how old a lot of us peeps are, but unless there is some dramatic change in this ballgame, I will witness something that has never happened in my lifetime. How depressing...
ReplyDeleteCould he have been more open on the 3rd-and-6. Wow.
ReplyDeleteAnd the clock continues to run...
ReplyDeletewhere is the I-formation
ReplyDeletei hope they stay with kodi
ReplyDeleteI gotta head down to be in position for post-game interviews.
ReplyDeleteI'll be checking in periodically throughout the night.
Word of caution for despondent HOTTIES: Windows are for looking out of ... not jumping.
tell me i was dreaming! are we losing to vandy???
ReplyDeleteJay why not go back to what worked in the 1st? Did Vandy adjust or is it a display of EGO
ReplyDeleteKodi with the I formation
ReplyDeleteI like it
under center
ReplyDeletefinally
ReplyDeleteTate running hard
ReplyDeleteSo, Jay G., is Kodi, like, supposed to be Mariano Rivera? Let Chris Todd start and Kodi is the closer.
ReplyDeleteStay in the I!!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't care who you are playing, you make 12 penalties in a game you aren't going to win.
ReplyDeleteKodi is more like CC Sabathia, we just have the wrong person picking who starts.
ReplyDeleteCaleb is right about the penalty problems.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe we are still doing that 6 games into the season.
I don't understand all these Kodi comments. He looks like ... well, terrible is the only word I can't put on here. Awful is another one.
ReplyDeleteWe need a big special teams play.
ReplyDeleteThe sign of Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results!!!!
ReplyDeleteA turnover couldn't even save Auburn tonight. This one is done. This team is completely without chemistry. It all started last spring with the hiring of Tony Franklin and a signature from Chris Todd.
ReplyDeleteTodd comes back..and so does the Spread.
ReplyDeleteswift of feet
ReplyDeleteOh boy!!!
ReplyDeleteWideouts can't get open at all
ReplyDeletecrud your right...this spread wouldn't taste good on wonderbread...
ReplyDeleteThe whole world knew that pitch was coming.
ReplyDeleteDumbass play
ReplyDeleteTerrible play calling
ReplyDeleteWhy not run on 2nd and 2???!!!
ReplyDeleteBallgame. An 'L' to Vandy. Unreal. Surreal.
Phred, I'm with you. Time for some housecleaning.
Kodi looks terrible?? Haha you guys continue to amaze
ReplyDeleteGang, Todd nor Burns has been great tonight.
ReplyDeleteBUT THE WRs ARE AS MUCH TO BLAME.
They don't get open. Couple that with the penalties and it's a mess.
so run option with todd to the short side of the field on 3rd and 2/3?
ReplyDeletewhy not use the I with second and third and one.
ReplyDeleteI run the spread
ReplyDeleteMan, that's going to be close.
ReplyDeleteSensible, not one phase of our game is coming correct. Auburn just lost to Vanderbilt for the first time since 1955. This in an era when Auburn Football has been one of the nation's elite programs for the past decade.
ReplyDeletewe have great speed at running back - we can outrun anybody
ReplyDeleteWhat in the HELL???? did we just get in the shotgun on fouth and one??????? i don't care if we got it or not this is terrible!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe haven't lost yet. That will be coming in 4:30 of football time it seems...
ReplyDeleteCrudup, it isn't over yet, but I can't argue with how badly this season has started.
ReplyDeleteMan they are bringing the farm!
ReplyDeleteGo get a beer 73
ReplyDeleteWE hold and still get sacked?!?
ReplyDeleteNice athletic move
ReplyDeleteTodd nor burns are the answer, pathetic
ReplyDeletegreat play todd!
ReplyDeleteDARN! (edited for childrens eyes)
ReplyDeleteThe apocalypse must be upon us...
ReplyDeleteThe answer is Al Borges! He's laughing right now I promise you!
ReplyDeletewell, that was terrible
ReplyDeleteWOW this is the shizzzzzzzzzzzzzzznet Heads must roll.
ReplyDeleteFIRE TONY FRANKLIN!!!!
ReplyDeleteGuys. It's over when you can't move the ball, when the O-line can't block. It's done.

Auburn is now the laughing stock on the SEC...officialy.
Todd is not an SEC QB and NEVER will be
ReplyDeleteFire Tubbs for hiring Franklin
ReplyDeleteWe will get at least one more chance.
ReplyDeleteCrudup is unfortunately correct, things don't get much better from here.
ReplyDeleteThat might be the ballgame, gang.
ReplyDeleteGreat punt!
Game over.
ReplyDeleteOn more chance to do what - hold, jump offsides, run laterally, try to bock a blitz with no one in the backfield
ReplyDeleteBALL GAME!
ReplyDeleteballgame, pathetic
ReplyDeleteSERIOUSLY, THIS GUY NEEDS TO GO
ReplyDeleteNice arm - Tubbs should be fired for allowing this kid to play
ReplyDeleteIf todd starts one more game i'm a damn troy fan
ReplyDeleteWhere's all the experts saying Todd is the guy? Ridiculous
ReplyDeleteTHIS WAS ALL EGO THE i WORKED YOU SAW IT WORK AND YOU GO BACK TO THE GUN IN THE SPREAD T.F. IS OVER HIS HEAD PERIOD!!!
ReplyDeleteI just cancelled my plans to travel to see the Ark game. No way I subject my family to that garbage.
ReplyDeleteThe state of the state is firmly in Bama's hands and that's only going to grow.
Sorry folks - I've been worried about the financial crisis
ReplyDeleteJay G, do you agree?
ReplyDeleteI'll see y'all next year. I'm done with these fools. If CTT or CTF are still there, I'm done for good. What a complete joke. Disgusting.
ReplyDeleteFIRE THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteA lot of the time you blow smoke Charles, but I couldn't agree with you more
ReplyDeleteCTT reminds me of all of these other CEO's. Blame it on someone else, go broke, and get a big severance on the way out
ReplyDeleteBring Steve Spurrier in, I know he wants to get out of South Carolina
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, and put Byrum's sorry ass on the bench.
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable.

WTF was that?!? I hope Mr. Franklin is using this as a resume builder, and gets to use it ... sometime this evening?!? BTW who is our QB coach?
ReplyDeleteCTF is gone.
ReplyDeleteNew kicker please...
phred, maybe a bit over the top, but........
ReplyDeletehave to agree on why todd is there and why we completely abondend the run after the 2 TE sets in the 1st quarter
CTF should be fired immediately. The guy is an amateur and has no business coaching at this level.
ReplyDeleteYou're right ... it's not Franklin. It's his ego and his offense.
ReplyDeleteLine up, get down in a three point, run the ball ... score two touchdowns in one quarter.
Start running the TOTAL BS Suck Spread and watch the whole freakin' thing implode like a fart I'm going to hold in church tomorrow.
Franklin sucks and he really is a DUMBASS. So is CTT for nothing less than hiring this idiot.
I have always like Steve Spurrier. Anybody have his number?
NO MORE PASSING FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR. ONLY I-FORMATION FOOTBALL WITH RUNNING PLAYS. THIS STRATEGY ACTUALLY WOULD WIN AGAINST VANDY.
ReplyDeleteTomorrows news conference will read as follows. CTF: Well Hell Im not happy I would boo too. I looked at the film and I was nothing that Chris did that would not want him to start for us next week.. Burns is a good QB but he just don't make his reads.

BS.
100+ comments.
ReplyDeleteJay G. Tate's blog is heating up!
I said this about three weeks ago and nobody had much to say about it except for Ron Mexico, but I'll say it again.
ReplyDeleteCTF may be the worst OC in the country, but he is the best CON MAN on the planet. We just got conned and CTF is laughing all the way to the bank.
CTT just said in his post came he was going to simply the offense yet again. Ok Boys this is a football..
ReplyDeleteGet rid of Jay Jacobs too, while your at it. He's another idiot in a sea of idiots.
ReplyDeletePhred I couldn't agree more. The Auburn family was sold a bill of goods with CTF and his "system". Maybe I should develop an offensive system that is FUBAR and sell it for big $$??

ReplyDeleteTime for the score board show wonder how they are going to spin this BS!!!!
ReplyDeleteI heard Tubs say they would simplify the offense.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Franklin cut it back to 10%?
What now? Cut it back to 5%?
What coach will they throw to the wolves for the post game call-in?
ReplyDeleteBoth the games we've lost have been to backup quarterbacks, yet neither of our first two are good enough to beat a quality opponent. This leads me to believe that a lot of teams have qbs riding the pine that would be starting at auburn, yet we can't find them.
ReplyDeleteIt all goes back to Tubbs.
ReplyDeleteCTF reminds me of the 10-year-old I played in NCAA Football 09 on the PS3. Running the same shotgun spread crap over and over without a clue. ReplyDeleteMaybe its time CTF comes on the post game show and take his lumps.
ReplyDeleteAll the Bama car flags at Walmart are sold out.
ReplyDeleteTubs is a master of spin win or lose but I would hate to think that he doesn't realize that he has made a HUGE mistake hiring TF.
ReplyDeleteSimplifying things isn't going to cut it.
There is a cardinal sin in the SEC and this is losing to Vanderbilt. You can stomach a loss to the MSST or KY every blue moon, but not Vanderbilt.
Tony Franklin makes me long for the days of a Hugh Nall offense.
ReplyDeleteFire Tubbs? Are you kidding me? Fire the only truly successful coach at Auburn since Pat Dye?
ReplyDeleteActually we weren't sold the goods.....we sought them out to buy.
ReplyDeleteThat offense broke down at coaching and playing at every position except RB.
Did Tubbs hire Franklin because it was his answer to recruiting against Saban?
ReplyDeleteAnd we aren't going to be the last team that gets beat by Vandy. They are ranked for a reason. They are going to beat Tennessee and another along the way with their first bowl appearance in forever.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Tubbs shouldn't be fired, let him rectify his mistake.
ReplyDeletesounds like no coaches tonight. The play by play team is talking.
ReplyDeleteTubbs is not a championship coach period caleb rotten
ReplyDeleteYou make a good point Hoopie. Auburn was "desperate" to do something after St. Nick came to T-Town and shook things up. CTT thought the spread was that something. It may be helping in recruiting this year but it sure as hell isn't helping on the field.
ReplyDelete"Tony Franklin makes me long for the days of a Hugh Nall offense."
ReplyDeleteNice one!!! But wasn't it officially "Nallsminger"?
Fellas, enough of calling for tubs head. Jeez. Franklin is fair game, but Tuberville has been awesome for us.
ReplyDeleteI don't know even know what to think. It's obvious to me we don't have good receivers or qbs. That's bad for a team that insists on passing.

How can Tubbs rectify his mistake? Tubbs knows offense like McCain knows the economy.
ReplyDeleteJames in Bham - the good recruits won't come after seeing this @#$% for the last few weeks
ReplyDeleteAnybody ponying up for that pay-per-view Arkansas game?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if firetonyfranklin.com is available?
ReplyDeleteim speechless, ...which is rare for me..
ReplyDeleteok, once we got down did any of you really think we could come back, in my delusional mind I had hoped Byrum would redeem himself with a winning fieldgoal, but then i remembered we would need to get a first down for that to happen.
Tubs needs to show up on the call-in show and earn his 3+ million.
ReplyDeleteOne thing about Auburn fans, always willing to be just better than mediocre.
ReplyDeleteHow many championships of any type has Tubbs won?
I'm going to Shrimp feast in Gulf Shores next weekend and will be completely drunk during that game.
ReplyDeletehow many tickets to the arkansas game just got put up on ticketmaster?
ReplyDeleteOK. I expect that they would have some troubles implementing the new offense but you'd think they would be showing some improvements by game six.
ReplyDeleteAnon, thake your bammer spin and go back to west Vance.
ReplyDeleteIf the Auburn family accepted being mediocre then we would all be praising Franklin right now, but we aren't now are we?
Wanting to win is not an exclusive birthright of the mullet nation, every team that plays want to win.
I am listening to the call in show, I respect Q. Riggins, great guy, Stan White, is an apologist, Rod Bramblett is such a whiny apologist, if i saw him in person he would totally kick him in the balls, what a dbag.
ReplyDeletewho thinks franklin gets yanked before the season ends? ??
ReplyDeletePatdye, you're a better man than me for listening to the post game show. If I hear the spin from Burcham, Brmblett, and Stan I would vomit I think.
ReplyDeleteThe problem I have with broadcast crews is that they can't really say what they want to. They are paid to be cheerleaders and it's pretty nauseating at times like this. You'll never really hear them be critical of a coach.
ReplyDeleteHey guys. I'll start a new thread with the newest information.
ReplyDeleteIt's Paul Ellen, not Bramblett.
ReplyDeleteJay, you need to take a bath after witnessing that one.
ReplyDeleteIt's a tough call on firing Franklin midseason, I think it'd be hard to fire a high profile replacement after letting the last guy have 6 games to prove himself, on the other hand, how do you let this continue.
ReplyDeleteCTF needs to be TF as of Monday. It was playcalling 100% GET UP BY 21 BEFORE GOING BACK TO THE SPREAD!
ReplyDeletehelp me out
ReplyDeletewww.fireeverybodyatauburn.blogspot.com
Folks, CTF aint the problem. That is not his offense that we are running.
