Third quarter, UM 10-7
We're discussing the third quarter of Auburn's game at Ole Miss.
OLE MISS 10, AUBURN 7: Ben Tate 27 run. Nice drive. What can you say? Kodi Burns hit Chris Slaughter for a 37-yard gain on the first play. No resistance, no problem.
NO. But, I'm really annoyed by how everything i see about kodi is pessimistic and negative, when this offense's ineptness can't be put on his shoulders. If you guys are going to unfairly blame him, then i've got to balance that out with excessive homerism! :)
CTT playing not to lose, even though he is losing.
I will say that there seem to be some adjustments made in the second half offensively. Two completed passes of 20 plus yards. I think that is going to be there the rest of the game - AU has to exploit it.
Hummm a pass over 20 yds?
ReplyDeleteWow! Where was that shot at the end of the half?
ReplyDeleteIt kinda looks like he did step out... not sure if he was forced or not..
ReplyDeleteSlaughter has a habit of catching a ball where he has a foot out of bounds.
ReplyDeletecomin back yall
ReplyDeleteWell, either way it was still a good call.
ReplyDeleteMy homerism is shining through.
Nice idea on the pass
ReplyDeleteonly been 9 weeks in the making for a play like that on 1st down (whether it counts or not)
ReplyDeleteTake when we can get it Tim
ReplyDeleteWe finally get a break
ReplyDeleteNice!
ReplyDeletedang
ReplyDeletemomentum from play is now lost
ReplyDeleteGo deep again...
ReplyDeleteWormburner coming right up...
ReplyDeleteNice play
ReplyDeleteI'll take it!
ReplyDeleteThe O-line is finally making things happen
ReplyDeleteAre they really still booing? get over the call, folks.
ReplyDeleteATTA BOY KODI. rightere. That is what Kodi does to be beneficial to the team. that didn't seem lethal to me.
TOUCHDOWN AUBURN!!!!
WOW.
ReplyDeleteHow about that?
GET OUT!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! North to South. Big Ben Tate!
ReplyDeleteThat was impressive.
ReplyDeleteCotton, is Burns your son?
ReplyDeleteI'm speechless.
ReplyDeletefreakin' AUsome
ReplyDeleteAdjustments? Maybe?
ReplyDeleteWas that our longest running play of the year?
ReplyDeleteMaybe we were saving the "good plays" for the 3rd.
ReplyDeleteit would have been a penalty if he did step out of bounds..is that a reviewable penalty?
ReplyDeleteFinally got a break!
ReplyDeleteWAR DAMN KODI
ReplyDeletehe was inbounds when he caught the ball. I fhe stepped out the refs didn't call it..judgement call
ReplyDeleteNO. But, I'm really annoyed by how everything i see about kodi is pessimistic and negative, when this offense's ineptness can't be put on his shoulders.
ReplyDeleteIf you guys are going to unfairly blame him, then i've got to balance that out with excessive homerism! :)
Nobody's hatin' Cotton.
ReplyDeleteIt's much more constructive criticism in here.
ReplyDeleteI got my 18 jersey on actually!
ReplyDelete"I want them foul"
ReplyDeletethat looked like some adjustments were made at half...cool beans
ReplyDeletegettin a lil exhuberant out there
ReplyDeleteGuess which direction Tate ran on that TD play? LEFT.
ReplyDeleteI actually have 12 on mine, but it's from two years ago
ReplyDeleteWhew. there was a long pause after they said personal fould on auburn. I was about to get mad if that call didn't go both ways.
ReplyDeleteI was in the neighborhood anyway
ReplyDeleteneed to shoot a couple run blitzes in there,
ReplyDeleteNice disclaimer there Mr. S.
ReplyDeleteThat's a big three-and-out.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I did buy my blue and white in 06.
ReplyDeleteDo they have that rule in college wher eif you are forced out, you are not out before the catch? If so, should someone let teh announcers know?
ReplyDeleteVery big. We need a return Dunn.
ReplyDeleteWell, at least it's good field position.
Ok the D got some life from the O. Let's keep building on this.
ReplyDeleteMaybe, just maybe, AU found the bottom that the market has been desperately searching for.
Where's my boy Zacharey at?
ReplyDeleteAnd came up swinging like Pat said
ReplyDeleteBig Snacks with a Big Block on the TD Jay.
ReplyDeleterun a damn bootleg, they're pinching that waay too hard
ReplyDeleteMan, we needed that first! Great play by Tim Hawthorne (?).
ReplyDeleteIs this the same quarterback?
ReplyDeleteWhat in the world happened?
And he follows it up with that?
ReplyDelete4 down territory?
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, James.
ReplyDeleteI'd go for this.
fannin wide open
ReplyDeletehe again shows his youth
ReplyDeleteYet we punt.
ReplyDeleteWhat do we have to lose, Tubs? Let the dice roll!
ReplyDeletethe campfire is still up at chatroll.com btw
ReplyDeleteCTT playing not to lose, even though he is losing.
ReplyDeleteI will say that there seem to be some adjustments made in the second half offensively. Two completed passes of 20 plus yards. I think that is going to be there the rest of the game - AU has to exploit it.
We need a turnover here.
ReplyDeleteHope someone reiterates to Kodi that Trott isn't the only receiver to throw to.
ReplyDeletei like the punt, 4th qtr i'd go for it, we finally got a lil momentum, maybe the d can get us a short field here.
ReplyDeletea TO sounds good to me.
ReplyDeleteMcCluster is a speedy back and good receiver as well
ReplyDeleteOle Miss #22 - There's some support for Phreds "hire guys with dred's" philosophy.
ReplyDeletewhen we finally do blitz it's the worst possible time to do so, wtf.
ReplyDeleteThey need to assign a headhunter for McCluster, someone to hit him hard EVERY play whether he's go the ball or not.
ReplyDeleteThere we go
ReplyDeleteBig stop there
ReplyDeleteDefense picking it up.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is the touchdown infused some enthusiasm.
Got him! Good job D on 3 and short.
ReplyDeleteNote to Coach Tuberville:
ReplyDeleteWe need a lead in order to be able to "sit on it."
Dang! Went for a shower and AU comes out and scores a TD. How'd that happen? (The TD...not the shower.)
ReplyDeleteYeah, Tubs - Don't be "Pottsie"
ReplyDeleteIn other news, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane is down 17-0 at Arkansas.
ReplyDeleteGus Malzahn = dunce.
Big pass from Burns. Big run from
ReplyDeleteBurns. Big TD run from Tate.
roman - go back in that seems to be what the offense needed.
ReplyDeleteRoman, the TD drive had 3 plays of 10 plus yards.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe 16-0?
ReplyDeleteArkansas is leading Tulsa 16-0
ReplyDeleteRoman?
ReplyDeleteWould have figured you more for a bath........
Heeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyy, somebody call me, sit on it!!
ReplyDelete"In other news, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane is down 17-0 at Arkansas."
ReplyDeleteDang, we picked that wrong.
The Fonz ... well played.
ReplyDeleteergh you beat me jay
ReplyDeleteTulsa scored. Just sayin.
ReplyDelete(I'll stop with this.)
East-West zone read crap needs to stop .....
ReplyDeleteOh my!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhere in the H has this bunch been all year?!?
ReplyDeletenow that was a nice play
ReplyDeleteJay, bang on the wall and tell sminger the sweep from shotgun isn't working, good throw kodi!
ReplyDeleteBurns ... no longer lethal!
ReplyDeletethat was a frikkin laser. nice throw, son. (just playing around)
ReplyDeleteFloat him a paper airplane...
ReplyDeleteWhy why why can we not run the ball?
ReplyDeleteThis is their third game, remember?
ReplyDeleteBLAH!
ReplyDeleteWe spoke too soon...
ReplyDeleteset jump spike
ReplyDeleteBad read. Three people in that zone.
ReplyDeleteJust don't let him get down.
ReplyDeleteGrowing Pains starring Kodi Burns...
ReplyDeleteDang that was a big hole.
ReplyDeleteWay too many people in that zone, Sensi. No doubt.
ReplyDeletemac trucks can run though these holes
ReplyDeletekodi has tinnel vision with trott, i'd only throw if trott was on the sideline
ReplyDeletedaaaaaaaaaaang PING
ReplyDeleteBad throw by a still inexperienced QB. That's the sort of thing that Kodi will learn not to do in time.
ReplyDeleteAnd here I thought y'all were complaining about another run stop.
ReplyDeletegood job blitzin over the injured center, almost paid off
ReplyDeleteIf these guys are all having a good tough practice, why are they getting nicked so bad?
ReplyDeleteStill though, in terms of playcalling, we look like a superduper high school offense.
ReplyDeleteOle Miss looks like the scout team for NFL teams. Running much more packages, formations, and plays.
Just saying...
Good call on the pitch to McCluster. Dude is FAST.
ReplyDeleteMy husband is a HUGE Auburn fan.....he's alseep now.
ReplyDeleteYeah for a team that was gonna "open up the playbook" this week, we aren't doing a whole lot of different stuff.
ReplyDelete3rd and 1 and we give up more than 20? First and goal, bad guys.
ReplyDeleteSee how Ole Miss uses all sorts of ways to get McCluster the ball?
ReplyDeleteWe need one (ONE) of those guys.
nice deflection
ReplyDeleteThe playbook is open; it is just a very small playbook. Simplify!
ReplyDeleteThere may be a glimmer of hope if we can hold them to 3 here.
ReplyDeletemr. sensible, I was hoping Fannin was that guy.
ReplyDeleteThere we go. Good way to stay home on Defense.
ReplyDeleteYeah, me too Cotton. Me too.
ReplyDeleteBlanc came up huge there.
ReplyDeletePlease no flag on Auburn.....and...
flag on ole miss. HARD field goal now
mike blanc has stepped up today, kewl, longer field goal
ReplyDeleteHUGE STOP
ReplyDeleteNice hold on 3rd down. Xcellent miss the kick
ReplyDeleteno good!

ReplyDeleteKick was too high.
ReplyDelete(Major League reference.)
WHOO HOO!!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't Trott sidestep an open field tackle for pete's sake??
ReplyDeleteIt's too high...too high
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean too high...it's gone
Burns to Trott...seems to be a pattern
ReplyDeleteThese guys aren't so freaking bad.
ReplyDeleteMajor League - the TV version.

ReplyDeleteLets just be happy he caught it...lol
ReplyDeleteOK let's do something about this...
ReplyDeleteThat's coming back
ReplyDeleteEast-west again .... Pointless.
