Third quarter, UM 10-7

We're discussing the third quarter of Auburn's game at Ole Miss.

  • OLE MISS 10, AUBURN 7: Ben Tate 27 run. Nice drive. What can you say? Kodi Burns hit Chris Slaughter for a 37-yard gain on the first play. No resistance, no problem.

Wow! Where was that shot at the end of the half?

    ReplyDelete
  3. It kinda looks like he did step out... not sure if he was forced or not..

    ReplyDelete
  4. Slaughter has a habit of catching a ball where he has a foot out of bounds.

ATTA BOY KODI. rightere. That is what Kodi does to be beneficial to the team. that didn't seem lethal to me.

  21. I'm speechless.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Anonymous1:33 PM

Was that our longest running play of the year?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Anonymous1:33 PM

Maybe we were saving the "good plays" for the 3rd.

    ReplyDelete
  24. it would have been a penalty if he did step out of bounds..is that a reviewable penalty?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Anonymous1:33 PM

    ReplyDelete
  27. he was inbounds when he caught the ball. I fhe stepped out the refs didn't call it..judgement call

    ReplyDelete
  28. Anonymous1:34 PM

NO. But, I'm really annoyed by how everything i see about kodi is pessimistic and negative, when this offense's ineptness can't be put on his shoulders.
If you guys are going to unfairly blame him, then i've got to balance that out with excessive homerism! :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Anonymous1:34 PM

    Nobody's hatin' Cotton.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Anonymous1:35 PM

It's much more constructive criticism in here.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  39. Anonymous1:37 PM

    ReplyDelete
  40. Nice disclaimer there Mr. S.

    ReplyDelete
  41. That's a big three-and-out.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Anonymous1:38 PM

Yeah, I did buy my blue and white in 06.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Do they have that rule in college wher eif you are forced out, you are not out before the catch? If so, should someone let teh announcers know?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Anonymous1:38 PM

Very big. We need a return Dunn.

Well, at least it's good field position.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Ok the D got some life from the O. Let's keep building on this.

Maybe, just maybe, AU found the bottom that the market has been desperately searching for.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Where's my boy Zacharey at?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Anonymous1:39 PM

And came up swinging like Pat said

  50. Anonymous1:40 PM

Man, we needed that first! Great play by Tim Hawthorne (?).

    ReplyDelete
  51. Is this the same quarterback?

    What in the world happened?

    ReplyDelete
  52. And he follows it up with that?

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm with you, James.

    I'd go for this.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Anonymous1:42 PM

    fannin wide open

    ReplyDelete
  56. Anonymous1:43 PM

    Yet we punt.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Anonymous1:43 PM

What do we have to lose, Tubs? Let the dice roll!

    ReplyDelete
  58. the campfire is still up at chatroll.com btw

    ReplyDelete
  59. CTT playing not to lose, even though he is losing.

I will say that there seem to be some adjustments made in the second half offensively. Two completed passes of 20 plus yards. I think that is going to be there the rest of the game - AU has to exploit it.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Anonymous1:45 PM

    We need a turnover here.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Hope someone reiterates to Kodi that Trott isn't the only receiver to throw to.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Anonymous1:45 PM

i like the punt, 4th qtr i'd go for it, we finally got a lil momentum, maybe the d can get us a short field here.

    ReplyDelete
  63. a TO sounds good to me.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Anonymous1:47 PM

McCluster is a speedy back and good receiver as well

    ReplyDelete
  65. Ole Miss #22 - There's some support for Phreds "hire guys with dred's" philosophy.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Anonymous1:47 PM

when we finally do blitz it's the worst possible time to do so, wtf.

    ReplyDelete
  67. They need to assign a headhunter for McCluster, someone to hit him hard EVERY play whether he's go the ball or not.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Anonymous1:48 PM

    Big stop there

    ReplyDelete
  69. Defense picking it up.

My guess is the touchdown infused some enthusiasm.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Got him! Good job D on 3 and short.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Anonymous1:49 PM

    Note to Coach Tuberville:

We need a lead in order to be able to "sit on it."

    ReplyDelete
  72. Dang! Went for a shower and AU comes out and scores a TD. How'd that happen? (The TD...not the shower.)

    ReplyDelete
  73. Anonymous1:50 PM

Big pass from Burns. Big run from
Burns. Big TD run from Tate.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Anonymous1:51 PM

roman - go back in that seems to be what the offense needed.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Roman, the TD drive had 3 plays of 10 plus yards.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Arkansas is leading Tulsa 16-0

    ReplyDelete
  79. Anonymous1:51 PM

    Roman?

Would have figured you more for a bath........

    ReplyDelete
  99. Anonymous1:55 PM

Dang that was a big hole.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Way too many people in that zone, Sensi. No doubt.

    ReplyDelete
  101. mac trucks can run though these holes

    ReplyDelete
  102. Anonymous1:56 PM

kodi has tinnel vision with trott, i'd only throw if trott was on the sideline

    ReplyDelete
  103. daaaaaaaaaaang PING

    ReplyDelete
  104. Bad throw by a still inexperienced QB. That's the sort of thing that Kodi will learn not to do in time.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Anonymous1:56 PM

And here I thought y'all were complaining about another run stop.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Anonymous1:58 PM

good job blitzin over the injured center, almost paid off

    ReplyDelete
  107. Anonymous1:58 PM

If these guys are all having a good tough practice, why are they getting nicked so bad?

    ReplyDelete
  108. Anonymous1:58 PM

Still though, in terms of playcalling, we look like a superduper high school offense.

Ole Miss looks like the scout team for NFL teams. Running much more packages, formations, and plays.

    Just saying...

    ReplyDelete
  109. Good call on the pitch to McCluster. Dude is FAST.

    ReplyDelete
  110. My husband is a HUGE Auburn fan.....he's alseep now.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Yeah for a team that was gonna "open up the playbook" this week, we aren't doing a whole lot of different stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  112. 3rd and 1 and we give up more than 20? First and goal, bad guys.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Anonymous2:00 PM

See how Ole Miss uses all sorts of ways to get McCluster the ball?

We need one (ONE) of those guys.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Anonymous2:00 PM

    nice deflection

    ReplyDelete
  115. Anonymous2:01 PM

The playbook is open; it is just a very small playbook. Simplify!

    ReplyDelete
  116. There may be a glimmer of hope if we can hold them to 3 here.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Anonymous2:01 PM

mr. sensible, I was hoping Fannin was that guy.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Anonymous2:01 PM
