Trooper Taylor a Tiger?

1/5/09, NOONISH

Hey everyone. It looks as though Trooper Taylor, the popular Oklahoma State assistant, has agreed to terms with Auburn coach Gene Chizik. I don't have an official confirmation just yet -- official sources haven't confirmed anything -- but here is a story from the (Oklahoma City) Oklahoman about the situation.

UPDATE: Auburn's jet that was stationed in Stillwater, Okla., has returned without Taylor ... or anyone of significance.

I'll have more as this develops during the next few hours.

Is it just me or are we putting together a pretty swole-up coaching staff. I wouldn't mess with any of these guys! LOL!

  5. So what exactly is the argument going on here with the BC situation? Do the people opposed think BC is wrong, stupid, or illegal for what they are doing? Because I think I would say they might be stupid, but I wouldn't say it is wrong or anything like that. Not letting him interview is an interesting move that seems to be within their rights, and it is probably a pretty good move from where they are standing. They will never hire someone away from a big program, so it's not like they would ever make a splashy hire anyway. They will always have to hire someone under the radar. A coach at a D-1AA school would still take the job because it is a step up, even if the school doesn't let them interview at other jobs.

I don't know enough about the situation, so it may totally backfire. I don't think this strategy would work at top tier programs. But I also don't think BC is wrong. It is a business, they made a business decision, big deal.

  6. did the BC thing really follow us to the new thread?

    ReplyDelete
  7. As the self-appointed arbiter of things good and evil, I hereby declare further discussion of the Boston College situation as EVIL.

Please return to celebration of TrooperDay! Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  8. When asked about if the departure of all his assistants hurt his feelings, Mike Gundy replied, "I'm a man! I'm 41! I can take it! Come after me! Leave for all I care! The school they left for is garbage, and the AD who allowed them to be hired is garbage! Makes me sick!"

    ReplyDelete
  9. Ok for the love of Jet n Mon and all things Holy.... please let the BC thing go....

    WHO CARES!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Auburn is giving Chizik tons of financial resources to assemble this staff.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Take the BC stuff to the HBCBOTN, please.

    Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Nahhhh there's no BC thing here

    ReplyDelete
  13. Breaking News: Ole Miss is going to be scary next year.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Well now we know what JJ meant when he said money was no object.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Jay G.
Waht do you hear as being Trooper Z's salary?

    ReplyDelete
  16. The BC situation is organic, and though evil, it is important to the fabric of our being as college sports fans, so it will follow us wherever we may go, like it or not. Embrace the evil and discuss! It's the offseason, after all.

  17. MObileZ, while I am disappointed, I am not devastated.

Rodney gets some extra coin, and that's good for him. I think we are meeting are recruiting needs on the staff, and I think we can find another solid recruiter/x-o guy.

    ReplyDelete
  18. i dont care about this BC mess

    ReplyDelete
  19. I haven't even confirmed (on the record) that Taylor has been hired.

Salary ... is down the list a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Seeing how much it has annoyed everyone, I think I will try and bring up the BC situation as much as possible from here on out.

    ReplyDelete
  21. OK ... here's what I said on the other thread because it dovetails with Michael's lastest epistle ...

    ---

OK, Mike Gundy is a man.

He's 41, which makes him middle-aged. Stress monster.

He's lost two offensive assistant coaches. He's lost his DC to another school, and he's fired a staff member.

What could make his day worse?

What is Auburn hired his offensive line coach Joe Wickline, who has spent half of his quarter century career in the SEC and was at Florida about the same time as ... Chizzle.

That would be too funny. Is it a possibility? I don't know. But it's a consideration.

Now, let's find us a DC.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Jet,
I totally agree, btw doesn't Rodney Garner Picture look like Chris from Inverness?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I like that we are taking our frustrations of Texas out on Oklahoma State.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Mon,
I love it.... i say we enter the smoke into JHS to the theme music of Shaft next year!!!

    I can dig it baby!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. great minds, Mobile! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm down with the smoke and shaft as long as there is no interlocking arms.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Damn straight Eddie,
if we can't get to Texas by god we will get the somebody in the Big 12.....
Mike Gundy did say "Come at me I'm a man I'm 41"

    Hahahahaaha so hell we did!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Eddie,
They will wear Leather Long Coat Warm-ups!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. oh my gosh I would so love some taco bell - it's soooooooooooo bad for you

    ReplyDelete
  30. i eat taco bell once a year, and then it reminds me to never eat it again. until i get the craving next year. the cycle continues

    ReplyDelete
  31. Eddie, interlocking arms is so 2004.

How about we sacrfice the first kicker who misses one in warmups and carry his body on a stick as the team runs out of the tunnel onto the field?

Granted, we can't do this every game.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Next year's theme...

All Auburn, ALL Oakley Blades and backwards hats and shaved heads and sweet 70's funk music.

I know it's kind of long and not very catchy, but I think it might just work!

    ReplyDelete
  33. The only reason I mentioned the BC thing was because people were comparing it to real world jobs, and there is no comparison unless you are the rare person in the real world who actually has to sign a contract which is in essence an agreement between employer and employee that isn't worth anything in the sports world...in the real world it's much harder to break them.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Jet, there are a lot of decent kickers on the intramural fields from what I hear. We just might be able to pull that ritual off for every game.

And Chizik could scream at us, "Are you not entertained!?"

    ReplyDelete
  35. As for the BC situation, I say we agree that it is a dang fine headache powder and move on.

As for Rodney Garner, I think the Chiz should show him a $600K check and ask if he has his full attention.

    ReplyDelete
  36. i shaved my head for last football season and we all know how that turned out. maybe if everybody did it, though....maybe that would help.

    ReplyDelete
  37. So at the very least with these hirings, perhaps we can get consistent special teams and WR's who can get open and catch a ball in 2009.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Will,
    How about this:
All Auburn, All Bald, All Oakley and All Funky, All The Time

    ReplyDelete
  39. scott, after the results of this last season, shaving our butts might have been more useful, or at least considerate.

    ReplyDelete
  40. PM reporting Chizik has interest in Wickline ... "Operation I'm A Man, Yes I Am, And I Can't Help But Love You So" continues.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I would have loved to see Scottie's shaved head and No, I won't be shaving my crowning glory.

    ReplyDelete
  42. nice nooner.

    welcome trooper.

    (unofficially)

    ReplyDelete
  43. See if we can get Mike Gundy as Co-Offensive coordinator.

    ReplyDelete
  44. ztevefc,
I really don't want to see some shaved butts!!!!

    Hell No!!! EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

    ReplyDelete
  45. my wife hated it. thus, i have the messy up-do going on now. whatever makes her happy. i don't have to look at it.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Mobilz...add some smoke and no locking arms out of the tunnel and I'm in!

    ReplyDelete
  47. OK PF,
Weeeeeeeeeeeee really don't need to know everything.... nooner

That was tooooooooooooooooo much information to share!!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Anonymous12:48 PM

PeterF,I think you got Monica's attention!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Now, we really need some good croot'n (Bama Accent) news. This was a decent class until the coaching circle jerk chopped the head off of it. We need to top notch recruits to round out the class, and I wouldn't mind a bit if they turned out to be linemen.

    ReplyDelete
  50. If this is a nice nooner, you're getting too old.

    ReplyDelete
  51. AUnMobilz, sorry, but since we already bent over and grabbed our ankles, I figured we might as well be considerate.

    ReplyDelete
  52. What about the entrance to Purple Haze and Smoke?

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm still thinking about the impaled kicker with Ride of the Valkyries blaring in the background.

Then let the band crank up War Eagle.

    ReplyDelete
  54. It looks like Trooper is a done deal and Wickline is a possibility. Sorry OSU, but I am enjoying this.

    ReplyDelete
  55. i can envision the smoke/hendrix combo already eddie. i'd be down.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Is this known as the all Auburn all OSU program? I thought we were expecting a staff full of Auburn folks.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Anonymous12:57 PM

Good lord I am playing catch up....

ESPN predicitons by Schlabach is because he is a GA Bulldog.

The staff is shaping up very nicely, do you think Barkley is rolling over in his jail cell?

    ReplyDelete
  58. One more thing ...

"Livin' on a Prayer" has gotta go.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Anonymous12:57 PM

OSU's website doesn't even show Trooper Taylor as part of their coaching staff:

    http://www.okstate.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=200&KEY=&SPID=143&SPSID=1419

    ReplyDelete
  60. AU1N04 ...

Only if his cellmate makes him.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Anonymous12:59 PM

Jet - He might have been made a couple of times already.

    ReplyDelete
  62. If it's Hendrix, I'll suggest "Voodoo Child" as the intro rather than "Purple Haze".

    ReplyDelete
  63. sacraficial kicker? no wonder Auburn's getting a dedicated special teams coach.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Not that I am superstitious, but.......

Alabama has not won a game since I received my Orange and Blue HABOTN t-shirt.

I may have to give it to an Auburn fan or sacrifice it to appease the football gods before next season.

    :-)

    ReplyDelete
  65. I'll only let go of Bon Jovi if its replaced by Hendrix AND Journey.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Anonymous1:02 PM

    Just cause I can >>>>>>>

    ReplyDelete
  67. FSJ,

Keep it till the UA/VT game. If they lose, you can send it to me.

You may even want to keep it even longer to make sure that this is a solid theory.

    ReplyDelete
  68. if the shirt is the problem FSJ i'm ordering 87,000 for the 2009 iron bowl and passing them out at the gates. let me know. :)

    ReplyDelete
  69. Anonymous1:04 PM

Did anyone see Petey Smith play lastnight?

    ReplyDelete
  70. Peter F, congrats on the nooner! Always reminds me of the Starland Vocal Band - "Sky rockets in flight... afternoon delight"

    ReplyDelete
  71. Anonymous1:05 PM

AU1N04...I watch Schlabach on CSS "Talkin' Football". He vacillates from uncanny insight to unconscious declarations without much in between.

    ReplyDelete
  72. scottie...

I'm just glad that sucker didn't arrive before the Iron Bowl....

    :-)

    ReplyDelete
  73. the drive through the 'glades has been nice today. 76 degrees, sunny, and tons of alligators and birds to look at. I thank the new Auburn coaching staff for my good fortune.

    ReplyDelete
  74. PF ... I'm willing to make a deal right now on that.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Anonymous1:06 PM

    Zhoop - That's funny!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Oh, PF ... congrats on the nooner.

    I'm a man. I'm 45. We don't have nooners.

    ReplyDelete
  77. i saw Petey make one play last nite and they mentioned he was down to bama and auburn. that's about all i saw. he looked pretty stout physically.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Anonymous1:08 PM

So no one saw Petey Smith? Lay a huge hit?

    ReplyDelete
  79. Anonymous1:10 PM

Thx Scottie B - He had a few good plays. One diving deflection of a pass and one huge hit.

He is a lot stockier than I thought but fast.

    ReplyDelete
  80. i was back and forth. i was trying to catch up on that 24 2-hour special. i'm giving 24 a try.

    ReplyDelete
  81. We have a new family tradition. During the Ok St bowl game, every time there was a shot of Gundy the whole room shouted, "I'm a man, I'm 41!".
This could rival "Hi Bob" (Newhart) as a new drinking game.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Anonymous1:12 PM

Where is da plane? Just cause there is nothing going on this very second.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I'm down with the Kicker on a Stick/Wagner idea, but Journey makes my ears bleed. We need angry, pent up fury type of music.

Might I suggest a little Rage Against the Machine?

    Killing in the name of...

I'm digging this whole hyperlink thing.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Anonymous1:14 PM

Nice coaching hires so far. So...how much of this success should be attributed to: 1. Desire to coach for Chizik?......2. The chance to coach at AU?......or 3. The big $$$ we're paying?

    ReplyDelete
  85. Anonymous1:18 PM

I completely missed 24 and have just realized that. UGH!! Was it good?

    ReplyDelete
  86. 100

Do we have any idea what position Trooper is going to fill.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Anonymous1:20 PM

Zhoopie - I think it is a combo platter. Chizik has worked with some prior, who wouldn't want to be the one to take AU to the next level, and money was no object.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Zhoopie ... when the hottest chick in school goes to prom with you ... dont' worry why.

    ReplyDelete
  89. bill romanowski used to listen to Tiny Dancer to get himself ready for the game ( I have a link to the interview at home, I think. will post when I get out of the car), and he was one of the most fierce players ever. I don't think "angry" music is necessary.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Anonymous1:24 PM

AU104...I agree on the combo platter. I was just looking for opinions on the % of fried, broiled or boiled.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Anonymous1:26 PM

Broiled is the only way to have a Crabcake!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Wakeriderof87, I assume Troop will coach wide receivers and possibly have an additional title, such a recruiting coordinator or assistant head coach.

This is a major hire the really excites me. In my opinion this is a major upgrade in terms of coaching in comparison with Greg Knox. Receivers have been an issue at Auburn for a long time, including the 2003 season.

    ReplyDelete
  93. AU1, it was my first exposure to 24. not bad. i'll be back for more. at least until Prison Break starts back.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Think the band could learn this one? Much better than Living on a Prayer.

    Shut'em Down

This would be perfect theme music for a classic Chizik defense.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Anonymous1:30 PM

Jet, that another clever analogy that I don't buy. When did AU become the hottest chick in school? and if so, why? Was it the AU aura? CGC?, or $$$.

    ReplyDelete
  96. My hemorrhoid is an upgrade to knox's coaching ability..

    ReplyDelete
  97. PFZ,

Unfortunately (or fortunately), Our players can't take half the drugs that Romo took (allegedly) to get them in game mode.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Wakerider - co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach per Bryan Matthews

    ReplyDelete
  99. Hoopz, I think Auburn is the one going to prom with the pretty girls in that story.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Uh, Zhoop ... AU ain't the hot chick ... the staff hires are.

    They're coming to us ... I don't care why.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Now that we have an offensive staff, I would like to request we remove the bubble screen to nowhere from the playbook.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Aubie, is that the sham-wow guy in your avatar?

    ReplyDelete
  103. Zteve ... here's a pin ... pop that bubble for us.

    ReplyDelete
  104. It is a little strange that we're getting half a staff from one school, albeit one that apparently has some chemistry (and some success).

    ReplyDelete
  105. What about an O line coach. any ideas?

    ReplyDelete
  106. Zhoopie, it's all about the power, the money, the glory, and the funk.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Aubie - Please remind me to show you a picture sometime. I think you'll get a kick out of it.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Anonymous1:38 PM

jhz - It's because they are men, and they are 40!

    ReplyDelete
  109. Bill Romanowski was jucied up on horse steroids and was injecting urine from other animals into his blood stream because he felt it gave him a competitive edge...listening to Tiny Dancer to pump himself up before a game is among the most normal thing he has ever done.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Wickline from OSU is apparently a candidate for the OL coach.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Mister Tommy! ha nice avataration

    ReplyDelete
  112. Anonymous1:39 PM

And 40 backwards is '04 AU's last undefeated season.

It is all one big AU1N04 plan!!

    ReplyDelete
  113. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Just a question, are we sure that when Auburn announced the Iowa State coach, they didn't really mean Oklahoma State. This seems to be more likely, it appears he is bringing his Offensive staff with him.

    ReplyDelete
  115. TommyD ... that's impressive.

    ReplyDelete
  116. jhz...we save big dollas on moving expenses by moving half the staff from Okie St all at once.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Romo had to listen to Tiny Dancer to calm him down enough to get from the locker room to the field without killing someone with a tire iron.

Just a theory... I could be wrong.

Is the Wickline thing for real, or just a rumor started by Jet? I'm not sure I want that many guys from one staff coming in. That might make for a little too much chemistry a la the BBQ Crew.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Anonymous1:47 PM

Gosh PF...I know our national reputation has been affected by our PTB rumors, but I'm not ready to adopt a low self esteem over it. Our PTB problems coupled with a dirth of proven available coaches may have prevented a blue-blood HC hire, but we're not pocket-protector nerds either.

I was just wondering what folks thought the % were for the various reasons.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Hey baby it's the new bad m%^#%#$% Midwest look of the Auburn Tigers.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Hoopz, I didn't say it, just explained it.

    ReplyDelete
  121. I bet Gus has input on the O-line coach. I feel he has someone in mind

    ReplyDelete
  122. After the job Chiz has done so far on hiring, I'm feeling pretty good about what he can do with the remaining positions.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Mon,
I'm with you... he has been methodical with his hires, not rushed and plus he got the cheez to make it work!!!

    The Power the Z!!!! $$$$$

    ReplyDelete
  124. Hey Mon, know anything about these folks? I was checking some things out on recruiting and these looked interesting to me.

    Jason Pierre-Paul
    Kendall Kelly
    Olivier Vernon
    Jawanza Sterling

Also, I noticed we have not offered that Reid kid who played like a rockstar in the All Star game yet. What gives there, are grades or behavior an issue?

    ReplyDelete
  125. It would not surprise me if he is a little more vanilla on the coaching hires on the defensive side of the ball. I think he feels he can recruit defensive ballplayers but wanted to bolster the offensive players we have typically not been able to get.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Will,
on the Reid kid he was a Florida lock until a few days ago when CTT spoke to the kids in Florida at the all-star game he opened back up his recruitment.... and added Auburn to his list....

    ReplyDelete
  127. Oh, and plane landed w/ no Troop on board? Is he using his own personal powers of flight to get here?

    ReplyDelete
  128. Good point Cowboy and wouldn't surprise me about vanilla so that hiz Defensive skills shine through as well.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Trooper has to hitchhike. They used up all remaining funds to sign him.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Trooper wasn't on the plane because he parachuted into Gadsden.

(that's a total, shameless gank from Rivals..hee hee)

    ReplyDelete
  131. Anonymous2:23 PM

PF..you are right. Thanks for the explanation.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Three things...
1-Please no more Livin' on a prayer.
2-If Journey is played before every game, Auburn will go undefeated.
3- Why's everyone downing the interlocked arms?

    ReplyDelete
  133. Anonymous2:35 PM

"Why's everyone downing the interlocked arms?"

Here is my take. That's a Tubs/Chette thing and it's a little played out, imho.

Just walk on to the field, once in the endzone, run to the sidelines. No jumping, chest bumping, bee stings.

    Classy and confident.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Anonymous2:39 PM

And I would like to add that having a coach designated to Special Teams is a great idea.

    ReplyDelete
  135. I am indifferent to the interlocking arms. Do it, don't do it, whatever. I have mixed feeling on the "Living on a Prayer" issue. You see, I was still a student there when the tradition began, and it was a lot of fun to sing it and such. But now when I go and hear the student section singing it, even into the playing action (something I never recalled doing), it bothers me a lot.

So, yeah, I'd like to see it go, but the student section is the loudest and most passionate section in the stadium, so if they want to do it, oh well, there are worse things.

What do you guys think of the BC situation?

    ReplyDelete
  136. Amen Mr. Sensi. Act like you've been there before and you're there to handle business. Journey is just too vanilla. We need a little AC DC Thunderstruck or something with a little fury behind it. I'm having an artist friend of mine sketch out a rendering of the Kicker on a Stick idea. Walk out behind that with Flight of the Valkyries playing and opposing teams would soil themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  137. TROOP A LUPE!

I hope he can bring reuben randle. AUsome hire, this is what our recruiting needed.

    ReplyDelete
  138. "Why's everyone downing the interlocked arms?"

That was the whole "we love Tubbs" thing after jetgate. Thought that was fine for the rest of "that" year but when the entrance to JHS kept being about "Tubbs" instead of being stoked about the game...well that was a little annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  139. As far as pregame rituals go, the "Auburn Will Rise" pregame video is probably the reason we went undefeated in '04. I remember when they added the Courtney Taylor catch to it after the LSU game that year. The stadium went as nuts for that video as they did for the actual play.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Anonymous2:48 PM

    J-Z,

    How about this? HARD ROCK

Or for the lighter mood? Cheesy version

    ReplyDelete
  141. Y'all are old and thank Gawd you're not in charge of picking the music.

Living on a prayer is a song of desperation. It's tired.

Teens/20 something's pumped up for a football game "walking" on to the field? That's like faining indifference, that's not "classy".

    ReplyDelete
  142. j-z ... Jet does not start rumors. He expounds on them, and occasionally expands them.

    ReplyDelete
  143. how bout alan jackson's way down yonder on the chatahootchee

    ReplyDelete
  144. (monica is ignoring jet's last comment)

How about THE HILLS ARE ALIVE WITH THE SOUND OF MUSIC?

    ReplyDelete
  145. Mon,
You are soooooo correct thats why we need to enter JHS on something like this:

    Green Light

    ReplyDelete
  146. Anonymous2:56 PM

    This more your speed Monica?

    ReplyDelete
  147. Ok, if we can't agree on the music, can we just agree on the impaled kicker?

    ReplyDelete
  148. Anonymous2:57 PM

I can do hip music. Check This

    ReplyDelete
  149. Is everybody assuming Trooper is a done deal? I didn't see it on the blog whether or not its for sure, but other people are saying done deal.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Sensi just rickrolled HABOTN. Nice.

Jet, I think everyone agrees we should impale the kicker. The question is to what music will we do this?

    ReplyDelete
  151. Amen Mon. All new Coachez, all new attitudez, lots of new playerz so why not all new kick azz music and some thunder and lightning from the tunnel?

    ReplyDelete
  152. Monica ... Does Jet not get credit for proper word usage?

    ReplyDelete
  153. Rick Astley makes his second career HABOTN appearance.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Oh, snap. HABOTN just got rickroll'd

  155. Yes Peter F, that is the Sham Wow guy. I love those things! Greatest invention ever... next to Tater Mits.
I love the Livin on a Prayer thing. Mainly because it sounds cool from my seat in Section 3 when the students sing.
Secondly, I say we lose the Eye of the Tiger song. Ever since they used it in a commercial, all I can think of is "Stan!..Stan, Stan, Stan. Stan, Stan, Stan. Staaaaaan!"

  156. I am pretty sure I rickrolled HABOTN at some point.... are you referring to mine or have there been 3 rickrolls?

  157. Barkley, I'm not sure hoochee music is appropriate at JHS

    ReplyDelete
  158. Jan Terri should write us an "Impale the Kicker" song.

  160. From the previous thread...

scottatl: And Roman...All scholarships are one year deal so if they want to leave for another school who wants them they are free to do so."

Ah...no. Athletes in NCAA football (at least in Division 1A FBS) must sit out a year when transferring and are subject to having their choice of schools restricted (at least if they want to play football on scholarship) by their old school. See Marve, Robert.

    Next!

  161. Jet,
You just want something on a stick at the entrance into JHS to put the FEAR of GOD into our Visitors!!!

    ReplyDelete
  162. Sensi...love where you're going with Down with the Sickness.

Mon, all I know is that when I was in HS, my coach would have benched us for half the showboating crap that goes on now. We ran through the banner played the game and handled our business. Theatrics aren't necessary.

Don't mean to sound like I'm jumping on you, but I think kids would be a lot better off if this went from being about "me" to being about "us". It dovetails into what I was talking about last night or this morning with the signing day circus.

  163. Just for the record: I still can't get concrete confirmation that Trooper is/will be an Auburn assistant.

    I have received conflicting information.

  164. Ok Guys we have a new name for CGC:

    "Chiz the Impaler"

    ReplyDelete
  165. Michael ... I don't remember your rickroll. Apologies if that did occur.

  166. Kicking Butts and Taking HEADS!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  167. It probably didn't happen, Jay. I probably thought one day, "I should rickroll HABOTN" and then didn't do it. But hey, I know I thought it one time!

I think we could get Jan Terri to do a version of Get Down Goblin for AU... Get Down Chizik! That would fire everyone up.

    ReplyDelete
  168. Trooper was not on the plane that arrived from Stillwater a few hours ago.

    ReplyDelete
  169. I soooo love Get Down Goblin.

  170. "eye of the tiger" is REALLY old. I suggest "born to run". I know it's older, but it is better--and apropos.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Ok ... We play the song "Kicker on a Stick." Four plays selected by the team carry the sacrifice to midfield and slam the stick into the turf, at which time Spirit or Nova begins their flight, ripping the corpse of the kicker of the stick dropping his body in front of the visitor's tunnel. Message: if they'll do this to one of their own, what will they do to us.

  172. JGT, should we be concerned that Trooper was not on the plane?

    ReplyDelete
  173. is there a dc out there who is named Vlad?

  174. Not sure what to make of that development, Just Win.

I don't think it's a huge deal in an of itself, but I find it odd that there has been no official comment ...

    ReplyDelete
  175. I don't feel like you're jumping on me. I'm saying to WALK into the game is goofy. Just run in jacked up like normal kinda like back in the 60's when you were in high school. Nothing more, nothing less.

    ReplyDelete
  176. No Scott, but there is one named Dick Bumpas

  177. NONE of you are allowed to pick the music. Move along.

  179. Mon, didn't they wear leather helmets in HS in the 60's? That might explain a lot.

  180. scott in tuscon,

  181. It's going to be disappointing if this Trooper news turns out to be a dead end.

  182. I have the song ... I am sitting in the lobby @ the dr. office. Cell phone rings behind me. The ring tune is "Godzilla" by Blue Oyster Cult. Old-school power rock with a funky vibe.
