Tuesday chatter

1/13/09, NOONISH

Hey everyone. As Eddie noted in yesterday's thread, things have slowed a tad. It's January and The Football Hubbub has simmered to some degree -- though ESPN's Stephen A. Smith likes to keep it going.

(I think Smith would have better luck not including Charles Barkley in his argument, which is a good one. Then he goes with Barkley and it goes askew.)

Here are some other things we're discussing:

*Chaz Ramsey's medical situation -- and Auburn's awkward decision to cower from the criticism.

*Tracy Rocker is bringing a tough-guy attitude to the defensive front.

*To Griff's delight, Auburn appears to be making progress on its search for an OL coach.

*We'll have more as the day progresses.

I dislike ALL Philly teams (the lone exception being the 76ers with Dr. JAY, Bobby Jones, Mo Cheeks, Dawkins then Moses, Toney and was it Joe Caldwell? Can't remember).

And of course, Dansby & Hood are Cardinals.

I know you not supposed to do this but I am bringing this post forward because I would like to hear everyone opinion.

I just finishing reading the article written in the Mobile paper concerning Chaz Ramsey written by Evan Woodberry. I must say that i am appalled at the discription of what went on between the training/coaching staff and the instruction set for by Ramseys surgeon. It was completely irresponsible of this people to alter any of the instructions as set for by his doctor. Who is in fact part of the Auburn medical team. To not have complete understanding of how to proceed and treat just leave me with my mouth open. It only makes me feel more comfortable with the fact5 that this people are now gone from the program. Nall’s excuses are unacceptable. He needed to completely understand what was happening rather than just making suspension decisions. I can only hope that if Chaz is cleared to play again that he will come back to our program. He should have a clean slate with coach Chiz. It would be good for him to have a fresh start with our program.

I am way behind on the threads because I am working, but is there an 8 line rule? If so, I have problems. I can knock out 8 lines in my introductory paragraph on occasion.

As for Cotton, or any other specific player, I don't get too excited. I look more at the overall signing class than a specific player.

Ohio State has more talent than SEC schools? Well, that is facinating. They should get some of that talent to join their football team. The beat downs might not be as regular.

Dustin,

I'd be real surprised if he plays that considering he hates it.

Plus, if you read and listen to the verse lyrics of that song, it's not exactly pump up the crowd material.

Then again, neither is Atlantic City, but the full band version rocks with Roy on the keys.

1:54 PM
Blogger WarEagleRK said...

I'm 99% sure that Born In The USA will not be played. He hardly plays it live at all.

My reason behind the Promise Land being played is he's a big Obama supporter and that seemed like a good song to relate to that.

I'm also 99% sure something from the new album will be played and Born To Run is always a good guess as it shows up in every show at some point.

Nall is not bound by HIPPA now and it reads like he was interviewed. I just cannot believe regarldless of who the surgeon was that there was no more conversations going on with the training staff and the primary care surgeon. It gives the appearance that no communications took place between any of the and it definitely leaves CTT in the cold.
If Chaz was one of our top lineman coming back in 2008 and he is injured I would want to know all aspects of what was happening. Nall leaves you with the impression he was clue less.

And what would be wrong with DMB? They appeal to a wide audience - much more so than Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen.

2:33 PM
Blogger WarEagleRK said...

Luv,

So has been = older?

Because the artists I mentioned are still successful and not leaning on their past glory by releasing and performing new music. (The Stones might be the exception to that, but they still release new music, but mostly play the older stuff live.)

I would clasify a has been artist as someone like the current versions of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Van Halen and others who go out there, play their hits and go home without ever changing anything up or adding something different to the show...and most of the time not using anywhere close to an original line up.

2:35 PM
Blogger WarEagleRK said...

I have no problem with DMB, I'm going to see them in Nashville in April.
