Auburn adds a cornerback

Hey everyone. Our friends at AuburnSports.com are reporting that Georgia DB Taikwon Paige has received a scholarship offer and will sign with the Tigers tomorrow morning.

He wasn't recruited by many BCS-conference schools. Not sure why.

Auburn now has commitments from 21 high-school players and two junior-college guys.

By brings nothing to the table, I mean he doesn't provide incremental value.

He was highly regarded, but he was either overrated or was "damaged" by early PT/poor coaching. I won't rule out the possibility that he can be "fixed" but I don't think it will happen.; 1:20 AM
Unknown said...: If Caudle had some experience, I think I would agree, but he is very inexperienced. I can only remember him playing in one game, against Tennessee Tech a couple of years ago.

As for the fans and Todd, it really doesn't matter. If his arm is healed he will be hard to beat out at QB. I just find it unlikely his arm will be healed.

Burns is my biggest hope. He was highly rated, but there are plenty of highly rated QBs that flop at the college level. Caudle was also highly regarded, but not as highly as Burns.; 1:21 AM
Unknown said...: I was actually very happy with Todd's performance until the second half against LSU. I was even happy with how he did against MSU. The issues we had there were not QB related. We were getting so many offensive penalties we were doing the cha cha.; 1:25 AM

I am too tired to look up stats and records, but I feel like we were having more success under Todd, despite his obviously injured arm. If Todd recovers from his most recent shoulder surgery, I wouldn't mind seeing him on the field. But I also like the positive vibe from AU fans these days...; 1:31 AM

The day were 18 year old ego filled kids get to play games with ball caps and put in mini-press conferences and play with the emotions of 30 year old men who want to see these kids go to their school, only to say the kid had no talent when they choose another school. What a grand day.

It means for a few months phrases like "life blood of the program" and "Jimmy's and Joe's" thankfully go away.
