On the road ... for the first time

Hey everyone. Though I haven't been very active on the HABOTN today, we've been hard at work behind the scenes. I have good news to report.

I now believe the HABOTN (and the Advertiser) will be attending the SEC Women's Tournament in Little Rock later this week. Big ups to my sports editor, Brad Zimanek, for helping right a wrong. Auburn is an outstanding team and deserves to be covered. Looks like they'll get proper coverage here.

So that's good.

As for our immediate future, we'll be on the scene in Tuscaloosa around 7 p.m. this evening. Please join us for conversation and frequent live updates from Coleman Coliseum, where your male Auburn Tigers play the males from U. Alabama.

  1. Yes, but was it substantive?

Good news on the Tourney Mr. Jay G. Tate. Just sucks that you have to go Little Rock.

  2. i think Jay G. calls DL just before a new thread

  3. I know a guy in Little Rock named Gene. If you see him, say hi for me, Jay G.

  4. Nice work Brad Zimanek and Jay G. Without a doubt the women's team deserves the coverage. Cheers!

  5. Harrison you're speaking in third person and talking conspiracy all in one day. I thank I luv you.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I refuse to watch ESPN for a second during halftime.

    Not a SECOND!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Harrison thinks the government told you to say that.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Props to those in high places who get things done.

And props to those in lower places who do all the hard work to enable the guys in high places to get things done.

    Oh, and HATE $puat!

  9. now I'm all twitterpated

  10. Rage against the machine, YoungPJ!

    ReplyDelete
  11. What do you follow on twitter?
    Besides the HABOTN, of course.
I finally signed up for twitter, and I'm learnin the ropes.
Which blackberry app is better TwitterBerry or TinyTwitter?

  12. HATE UAT!

    HATE EARLY!

    HATE OFTEN!

  13. JG - Does the game start at 7:00 or at 8:00? Say hi to Coach Pearson for me and tell him that even though I have known him and liked him for 33 years, I hope we beat their eyes out tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Can we go back to calling it the men's team instead of males? Males playing males just sounds kind of icky.

    ReplyDelete
  15. We could call them the Gentlemen Tigers.

    ReplyDelete
  16. JGT, you shoulda left a little early and gone up 65, hit up PF Chang's for an early dinner, the over on 20 and came back on 82.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I hope Fester puts Philip over his knee and spanks him until he says "Please stop."

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ladies & Gentlemen.
I like... Pat yourself on the head, Mon. Well done.

    ReplyDelete
  19. That would definitely be males playing males..gross

    ReplyDelete
  20. Harrison,

You just need to always check for more wisdom from JGT....

    ReplyDelete
  21. Miller - Let me suggest where you may pat yourself...

    ReplyDelete
  22. ??
I said well done... What's with the angst?

    ReplyDelete
  23. i think i'm as smart as I'm ever gonna get DL. I couldn't cram any more wisdom in

    ReplyDelete
  24. LOL I'm sorry, Miller. I'm just old and hypersensitive to being patted on the head like a good puppy. Please forgive me.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Patting on the back is overplayed. I do head pats. For wifey, its a pat on the butt. But, I figured you would prefer a head pat rather than a pat on the butt.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I had a head injury one time, and I was hypersensitive to being patted on the head. It never interfered with my internet life, though.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Personally, I hope we don't play like gentlemen.

I hope we play like the meanest sonofaguns in the valley.

    ReplyDelete
  28. only if I didn't take naps all day I'd be quicker to respond to new threads

    ReplyDelete
  29. was it an open head wound michael?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Actually a concussion. They just don't make backyard pools as deep as they should, you know?

    ReplyDelete
  31. true dat. That pet manataee I caught never stood a chance. Also apparently chlorine is bad for them

    ReplyDelete
  32. That is sound reasoning, Miller.

  34. For all beer nerds like me- Alabama house passed gourmet beer law today. On to the extremely rational, and well functioning Alabama Senate

    ReplyDelete
  35. I too have been following the gourmet beer stuff, Harrison. There are some real morons in the Senate, so I don't have my hops up. Get it? Hops instead of hopes!!! Oh yeah!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Who here eats Ramen Noodles?

    ReplyDelete
  37. i wish i could give you a high five for that sweet pun

    ReplyDelete
  38. Y'all are way too cool to be doing "high fives," right?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hand raised on the ramen noodle question.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Not good ol' Harrison. He thinks the CIA is trying to end high fives

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm listening to the Alabama Senate, attempting to remove $1 billion (about half of the value) for a 10-year road and bridge project.

So when things go south, and you want someone to blame, remember:

    It's their asphalt.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I don't drink that often but i'm glad Alabama passed this law. Maybe a decent microbrewery will pop up along the coast here.

    ReplyDelete
  43. man another sweet pun!! it don't get no better than this. HIGH FIVE!

    ReplyDelete
  44. not there yet Bin. STill has to pass the Senate, where it got stuck last year and never made it through

    ReplyDelete
  45. Nova and I had dinner a place with a really nice microbrewery. And I know I've said it a million times, but that one on the river in Chattanooga is so fine.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I like that place too Mon. My dad used to live there and we wore that place out

    ReplyDelete
  47. Monica,.,.,.

did ya even have to ask???

I invented Ramen Noodles... The chinese stole it from me...

    ReplyDelete
  48. That grits and shrimp dish and the only beer I've ever had that I could love as much as I used to love diet coke. sigh...

    ReplyDelete
  49. Dear Leader! Of course...Damn those Chinese.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I won $3K in Facebook Poker today and have a guy in Columbia willing to help improve my game. It's been a productive day.

    ReplyDelete
  51. The Breckenridge Brewery in CO. made some good beers. I abused the 6 dollar jug refills there

    ReplyDelete
  52. Ramen Noodles- one of my daughters 4 basic food groups. They tend to make me hungry for some real food.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Harrison, I am looking forward to the sound bites from this year's debate on the House floor (What's wrong wit the beer we got? It drink pretty good!). Today, the Hon. Rep. Holmes from Montgomery threatened to send a notice to all churches in the districts whose Democratic Representatives voted yes on the measure to let those parishioners how their reps voted. Hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Weagle - Is that true? The thing about the threat to send letters?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Great brews in Williamsport Pa. Worked in the Bullfrog Brewery and Abbey Wright Brewery/Valley Inn.Both made some amazing brews, Otto's in state college has em both beat though, that guy (charlie schnable) is a flippin master.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Sounds like a road trip to me, Bin. And is that some of your fine culinary fare in your picture?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Nothing like having someone else's morality thrust upon you. Probably just another terrified biggot/racist/heterosexual.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I just heard on Finebaum that ESPN will broadcast Alabama's spring football game.

    Isn't that a little much...Broadcasting practice?

    ReplyDelete
  59. Mon,

Yeah, I was listening to the live feed from the House while he had the podium. He also equated voting for this bill to being against Civil Rights and trotted out the "We have much bigger things to worry about than alcohol content," defense.

    ReplyDelete
  60. That was the dinner special last night. Deep fried Tasso grits with Grilled gulf shrimp and an abita amber honey creole glaze, sexy eatin.

    ReplyDelete
  61. FSJ,

Why not? They did it for Florida last year. If you follow that progression, then you should be MNC's by next January. That should make it 15, by Rivals' count. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  62. The "dranks perty good line" was classic, but also infuriating.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I was in Taco Mac and Vortex in Atlanta last weekend. TacoMac has 375 beers! It was glorious.

    ReplyDelete
  64. But Harrison, we got Coors, Budweiser, Miller Lite....

I wanna know what's wrong wit the beer we got?

    lol

    ReplyDelete
  65. we got the high life!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Who here will admit to voting for that person? Nevermind! I'm going to cleanse my mind of yucky legislative thoughts by pretending I can smell Deep fried Tasso grits with Grilled gulf shrimp and an abita amber honey creole glaze...

If I smoked I have a cigarette after reading that, Bin.

    ReplyDelete
  67. How do I get in on one of these poker games and how do I collect my money?

    ReplyDelete
  68. Well, it's just pretend money so that may be a little less than satisfying...However, I can just send you an invite so you'll get the app. if you like.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Unfortunately, I must attend a meeting until shortly before tipoff ... continue hating until I return.

    Thank you.

    HATE UAT

  71. I will pose the question to you all and let you deliberate.
Do we want to do a HABOTN Tourny Pickem for the NCAA Tourney? If there is enough interest I will take charge and set up the group on either ESPN or Yahoo (whichever is preferred). A follow up question is do we wanna have a buy in per bracket entry, winner takes the pot (not a Michael Phelps reference).

    ReplyDelete
  72. Miller,

TinyTwitter has daily limits. I think limits are bad. That's why I won't sign up for a free flickr account.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Jay-ok so you got the womens tourney taking care of what about the mens..would it help if AU wins tonight and then again againist LSU?

    ReplyDelete
  74. Alright peeps, I have returned after an afternoon run, shower, bathing the tigercub, feeding him dinner, etc and I'm now caught up on my reading.

A couple of points on the reading catching up I've done since I left you:
(from previous thread) Mon - I'm not sure what I did to deserve that. I'm deeply, hurt.
(from this thread) Mon - I'm relatively certain that the chances of there being more than a handful of actual Hotties that voted for said Representative are about as likely as my tigercub driving a golf ball 300 yards this weekend. (FYI - he's 2 y/o, it ain't gonna happen)

Now, he's eaten and it's time for him to hit the sack, so I'll be leaving y'all again for a bit. Mon, see if you can refrain from inflicting deep and everlasting pain on me while I'm gone.

That's the kind of pain that even Lower Tabs can't help.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Good job on the Women's tourny Jay.

    ReplyDelete
  76. DMiller..

I'm up for the tourney thing...

    ReplyDelete
  77. DMiller- count me on on the tourney. I prefer yahoo because I can look at it at work.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Reading this blog is as comforting as watching an old Auburn football game (where Auburn wins) on a snowy Sunday afternoon

Thank you all for this daily comfort

Thank you Jay G. Tate for making it possible

    ReplyDelete
  79. Is anyone else nervous about the game tonight? I haven't been nervous about a BASKETBALL game in forever.

    ReplyDelete
  80. yeah I am definenitely nervous...almost like the first 8 games of last season...WAR EAGLE Cincy!! BEAT BAMA!!

    ReplyDelete
  81. I can honestly say I don't think i have ever cared so much about Auburn winning a basketball game. There seems to be a lot riding on it.

    War Eagle!! Beat Bama!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Beat Bama!!!!!!

    How about that for substance!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Two thoughts
    1) I'm horrible at them but I would be down for a NCAA bracket.

    2) Jay G, if you come down to Tampa for the mens tourney you have a beer coming your way from this guy.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Hey peeps. I have arrived in Tuscaloosa. A new thread involving DeWanna Bonner has been posted.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I don't know how, but Greg can teach me so count me in, Miller.

I'm with all of you who have never been so excited about a basketball game as this one. It's very cool.
