Saturday update

Hey everyone. I'm basically taking a day to myself today, kicking it at home and not engaging in work-related activity.

It's rare, yes, but it happens occasionally.

I'll return on Sunday for post-practice information. Have a great Saturday!

  5. Jet - every time you post, I think it is FSJ with his Hugh Heffner picture. So two things you should take from that - your current picture gives me the impression that you are a bammer, and Pat Dye looks like an editor to a nudy magazine.

  6. it's more than a Nudie Mag. It has good articles.

  7. Good feedback, MJT!

  8. I'm a frequent final poster. Now, nobody will know that I'm a cool appendage. Oh, wait. I just said it. Oh, no. Now everyone will know. Shameless Self-Promotionschmidt

  9. What is all this appendage talk?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Well, now that it's been asked once, it must be a FAQ. Jet, looks like you'll need to write a definition.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'll have stories in the newspaper tomorrow, though.

I've got a draft diary from Sen'Derrick Marks and a story about OL Andrew McCain.

    ReplyDelete
  12. 3-2 Auburn after 4. I hope John Luke can got the distance, because Vandy looks like they only need one inning from an Auburn reliever to spin this game out of control.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I like the concept of the draft diary.

  14. just spoke with the folks in college station. their impression is that au had a better morning than texas and has a legit shot to win the men's ncaa s & d this year.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ben Jones with a two run Ding Dong, and 2 ks by JLJ leaves Auburn ahead 5-2 after 6

    ReplyDelete
  16. Anyone watching the b-ball game? Mike Anderson sure does coach an entertaining style of basketball.

    ReplyDelete
  17. 5-3 Auburn after 7.

Final line on John Luke Jacobs:
    6.2IP 8H 3ER 2BB 6K...decent outing.

Bradley Hendrix pitching now for the Tigers.

  19. Ahhh, maybe its been long enough for someone to explain the origin of the term "Bammer".

Where it came from and et al.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Digger, make sure and post with about 1.30 left in the game.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It's STILL raining here. I've had fun scanning some old photos. That gets one of my "projects" off the dining room table. :-)

  22. We'll see how Dirty responds to me adding some of her old majorette photos to me Facebook. hee hee

You're taking the day off when AU is going to win a national championship tonight?!?!? AU is well-positioned to win their 8th NCAA championship in Men's Swimming & Diving; another REAL championship, not some popularity/beauty contest decided by poll voters.

Btw, it's a little-known fact that Tigers are excellent swimmers.

    WDE!

  24. 2 outs, one on, top of the ninth. Auburn leads 5-3. Bradley Hendriz, who has 4 strikeouts in a 1.2 innings walks the Vandy batter on 4 straight balls.

Hubbs is in now to (hopefully) get the last out.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hubbs strikes him out, picking up his 4th save. Auburn wins!

Freshman John Luke Jacobs picks up his 3rd win (3-0 on the season).

Ding Dongs (does this need to go in the FAQ) by Ben Jones(5) and Brian Fletcher(7).

Series is tied 1-1. Rubber game tomorrow at 1:00pm in Auburn.

  27. Guess who is 1st place in Tourney pick-em?

    ReplyDelete
  28. I know Monica knows.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Audio and GameTracker, Hoopie.

I wish I was reporting from the games. I miss Auburn baseball. I hope I'm in Atlanta already by mid-may, so I can come over to see the Bama series and maybe some of the SEC tourney.

  31. My dog is going back to peanut butter treats. Opened a pack new chicken ones today, and her gas as she sleeps beside me on the couch is about to run me out of the room.

  32. Dang, Matt's Endless Fries cannot win it. I thought he deserved it after the TV stunt.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Matt definitely deserves something, that was great.

  36. Sweet, the end of Hoosiers is on MoviePlex.

    ReplyDelete
  37. PF ...

The thing I love about Hoosiers ... Norman Dale is the most disciplined coach in the history of the game ... until Jimmy rejoins the team ... then it's Jimmy Jack It Up every time down the floor.

And he was fortunate enough to coach against Mark Gottfried in the state championship game.

It seems that as the BBall playoffs progress, the physical body-checking type play has been shut down by the refs.

These guys from the Big East instinctively know basketball.

Kinda like a Southerner knowing football or baseball.

Good for you Jay G. Hope you enjoyed your day.

    ReplyDelete
  40. This is a heck of a game ... Big East hoops is where it's at.

    ReplyDelete
  41. we've got movies about hoosiers, bear bryant, rudy and notre dame, the yankees, etc. i think we deserve an auburn movie. featuring kicker on a stick. mel gibson could play chizik, benecio del toro can play el toro, saban, in a testament to method acting, will play the kicker, and jim carrey can play the mascot.

    ReplyDelete
  42. auburn just took the lead in the ncaa's. platform dive and two swims left to wrap it up!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I will not have an anti-semitic, racist, drunk bastard playing my coach!

    ReplyDelete
  44. FYI ...

Auburn men are in line to win the NCAA title tonight in swimming & diving.

They're ahead with two events remaining. Barring a disqualification, this one is the Tigers' to lose.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Should Auburn win, it will be the program's eighth national title and sixth in the last seven years.

    Auburn has won men's NCAA titles in 1997, 99, 2003, 04, 05, 06 and 07.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I guess that rules out Jhag, too.

    Just kidding.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Jay G in second place in the bracket challenge, but needing Michigan State to make some noise.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Villanova came through as expected.
