Schedule update

Hey everyone. Happy First Day of The Masters to you all. It's a beautiful day down this way for those of you who don't live in God's Country. I think those two facts are related.

Anyway, Auburn will practice today beginning at 4:30 p.m. Reporters (again) will not be allowed to watch. I'll post a practice report around 8 p.m. and a video around 10 o'clock.

On a sadder note, Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart died in a car accident early this morning. I follow minor-league prospects very closely. Adenhart was an outstanding prospect who had a chance to be an outstanding major-league pitcher.

RIP.

  4. Yea. It really is. Kid was 22 and had a shot to live the dream, you know?

    Felony hit-and-run = bad.

  5. A somber reminder to us all that tomorrow is not guaranteed.

    Be careful out there, folks.

It is sad for the Adenhart family after pitching well in his debut. He was from MD I thought he sounded familiar.

I feel bad for the Capt. of the Maersk Alabama, but how crazy is it that it has been 200 yrs since a pirate has taken a ship with a US Flag?

  14. Anyone else trying to listen to Roundtable online? I'm having trouble. Getting the same clip of Longshore over and over.

    jay,

I love your site, lurk almost every day. But seriously, do you need to (again) whine about the closed practices? We get it. You don't like it. The not-so-subtle comments are getting old and making me click on (oh gawd) al.com's blogs before yours. Could you lay off it a little?

    ReplyDelete
  16. my roundtable isn't workin.

    ReplyDelete
  17. uh-oh.........

i heard about the Angels kid at the gym. wow. prayers sent.

    ReplyDelete
  18. fwiw, my Roundtable audio is crap too.

  21. well said AU104.....and my roundtable is not working either

    ReplyDelete
  22. Lurker = future banhammer.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Anonymous12:54 PM

I know this may get me banned, but so be it.

I don't know who the F you are, Lurker, but you can go to Hell for taking Jay G to task.

He doesn't get paid to provide the HABOTN.

So, stfu and go back to your hole at al.com.

    LOL Well said, Gnome!

  26. I know some of you don't care, but Chad Campbell has birdied the first five holes today ... he could theoretically set the course record.

  27. Better to be quiet and thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt.

    ReplyDelete
  28. OK OK, I understand the hate for lurker, but come on. It's not like he was spewing hate and nonsense, the guy was just giving his opinion in a sensible yet brazen way. Isn't that what HABOTN is all about?

-MJT, hero to Tim and the other lurkers

  29. Thanks AU104....I am now listening and watching the Masters which is much more relaxing than listening to the roundtable!!

MJT - We are all just puppets.

    ReplyDelete
  32. and everyone else was just giving their opinon of lurker

    Peace in the Middle East.

    ReplyDelete
  33. MJT ...

I'll say this and let it up: the first offering Lurker had was to whine about someone who puts in hours and hours on this blog without being compensated for it fairly.

It's not cool to go to someone's house for dinner, then the first words out of your mouth are to complain because you didn't want ranch dressing on your salad.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Anonymous1:04 PM

WEG - My pleasure. I am in the office and no one else is in today. If MJT was here, I am sure he would be streaking the halls.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ah yes Monica, but instead of attacking the subject matter, they are attacking the person.

Luv, I don't know where this rumor began that my livestock has golden excretions. It is simply not true. Don't you think I would have better security around them if that was true? I do have some goats and some sheep up in Idaho, but they are just collateral. That's all I can say at this point. Don't ask me about my business.

  36. Anonymous1:06 PM

Lurker....my take on why JGT has mentioned the closed practices a few times (not whined)is that he takes pride in his reporting and mentions this as a reminder that he can't provide the level of detail prevalent in years past. My take is that it is a pride thingy...and that's cool.

What's wierd is that if you really do lurk alot, you surely would have picked up on that by now.

Calling JGT a whiner is rediculous.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Anonymous1:06 PM

Mon - That made me crack up...Peace in the MidEast...can't happen with Pirates!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Anonymous1:07 PM

How about that shot Mike Weir just made!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Anonymous1:07 PM

    Lurker,

Come over to the chatroll. I have something I'd like to show you.

J/K - don't be a hater, unless it is for Bama which is required by Jet.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Complaining about a free information site? Jay is obviously frustrated about not being able to report on what HE sees and a constant helping of coachspeak. I don't blame him. Feel free to return to lurking.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Ya know, we'd get peace in the Middle East if they'd settle their differences like good Christians.

    ReplyDelete
  42. even if you didn't want ranch dressing?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Anonymous1:08 PM

Hoopie - You are correct on all fronts. And JGT has even stated that he is more frustrated for us then anything else. Since we are unable to get informed.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Anonymous1:09 PM

Heck of a shot by Weir

    ReplyDelete
  45. Bama hate is good.

  47. Just shut up, Sam, and eat your salad!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Anonymous1:11 PM

I ate a chicken caesar salad today.

Also, campus life is, well, off a bit today. I think students are celebrating Good Friday early this year.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Don't force your salad dressing on me. I'm going to the salad bar at Applebee's and getting 1000 island and extra tomatos.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Sam, you are embarrassing me.

Now, you WILL eat your salad, and you will not be rude any further. Otherwise, we will send you to UAT. Do you hear me, young man?

    ReplyDelete
  51. Lurker's post was a bit too scripted, almost a set up. I think it was someone we might know already just throwing some bait out there.

JG, good call on the weather in this area of the country. Man it is nice. It would be nice if they opened up practice for just one day. I would love to go out there and watch em this afternoon.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Anonymous1:13 PM

Sam is picless how does that happen?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Anonymous1:14 PM

Does the Good Book endorse Bama Hate, Jet?

    Just wondering...

    ReplyDelete
  54. lurker: No. I won't stop.

    Thanks for checking in, though.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Anonymous1:15 PM

    JGT has spoken.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Anonymous1:15 PM

    Will,

Welcome to the Black Helicopter HABOTN conspiracy club.

Have you seen the latest Loose Change?

Glad to have another on board. There are only a few of us here.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Who made the salad?

    Me. And Seven Seas.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Anonymous1:18 PM

If I'm the Navy Seal Officer on the Bainbridge.....I'm sending out a 6 man underwater crew at night to "visit" the lifeboat and bring back the Captain.

Oh, and by the way crew...we don't need no stinkin' prisoners or trials.

  59. “ 'Come now, and let us reason together,' says the LORD, 'Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.'" -- Isaiah 1:18 (NKJV).

The Lord hates sin. Sin is crimson.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Jet - That tagline might be worthy of front page status. But that's just my opinion. We might need to see how "Lurker" weighs in on it.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Anonymous1:26 PM

    Jet,

Props for digging that one up for me.

Did you remember that or have to go fishing?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Anonymous1:28 PM

Jet..Our choir is singing "White as Snow" (taken from that verse in Isaiah) as a part of the Easter Program. Now I've got to block out the Crimson hate when singing the song.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Sensi I just answered your instant message.

    "Whiter than snow
    Yes, whiter than snow
Now wash me and I shall be whiter than snow..."

  66. Sensi ... had to confirm the citation ... knew it was in Isaiah.

So I went to my online Good Book and found it quickly.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Haha love the new name Brother Jet.

Also lovin the 3-0 lead the Rays have on Boston.

    ReplyDelete
  68. That link doesn't work either. 740 is just suckalicious today.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I love those hymns & I love those types of service. You just can't find that in north ATL anymore, everything's going Contemporary. I don't like it one bit.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Brother Jet........you're killin' me. hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  71. GATiger - Go to church with me and you can hear it in Latin. Can't get less contemporary than that.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Omni - that'd be just too much of a stretch for a good Southern Baptist such as myself.

    ReplyDelete
  73. yeah, I used to be one of those too, but if you ever change your mind...

    ReplyDelete
  74. You guys are totally getting Jan Terried right now. There has been a new thread for quite some time.

    ReplyDelete
  75. If I can't understand it I just as soon not listen to it.
I would have trouble in a yankee church. The speak with funny accent.

  76. Anonymous2:40 PM

wow, i usually just read the blogs and don't wander into the comments so much. I didn't know everyone was so sensitive. To those who provided a little cover for me, thanks. As far as the personal attacks and nastiness goes, I am a little surprised. Jay, as I said, I do love your site, but it's my consumers opinion that the joke has gotten old and it's close to driving me away. Maybe I'm the only one who feels that way. I was honestly just offering some constructive commentary; I'd be surprised if you are not interested in that and if you took it any other way then you are mininterpretting it. Sorry if I offended; that was not my intent.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I'd be surprised if you are not interested in that

    Be surprised.
