Auburn vs. Tennessee game time announced
Hey everyone. Everyone who had "night game" in the AU/UT pool is feeling mighty good about things right now.
ESPN has picked up the game and will televise it beginning at 6:45 p.m. CDT on Oct. 3. The game will be played in Neyland Stadium, a large facility that holds lots of fans, and should provide an intriguing matchup.
Tennessee's power-run game could be an issue for the Tigers' defensive front.
Auburn's multi-dimensional offense could be an issue for Tennessee's linebackers.

Schofunk,
Upper Deck?
IV,
How are you feeling? Better, I hope. I have relapsed since the weekend and have spent the afternoon in bed. I am NEVER sick. I'm ready to be over this.
Scott C.
After the past 3 or 4 years, I didn't know plays could go farther than 20 yards. I had forgotten you can go the whole field in one play.
Where is the kaboom? There was supposed to be an earth-shattering kaboom!
Dan - I thought before the season that AL, GA, MS, and LSU all had more talent than us. I still think that is true, but I don't know that they are all playing better than us.
Cincy,
Not really feeling alot better. I think I may have a sinus infection. I have been taking your NyQuil and DayQuil. They have helped me get some sleep, in fact I took a long nap this afternoon and felt a little better after I woke up. I am sinking now. Thanks for asking about me. If I am not a good bit better in the morning, I am off to see the doctor. I am sorry that you had a relapse. Take care of yourself.
Choco,
It's coming.
If Finebaum has his way, Trooper Taylor will not be with us much longer.
The REC wants this. Therefore, they will not stop.
Someone on here said that there was an ESPN clip catching the Trooper saying the "n" word. Has anyone here actually seen or heard Trooper saying this?
It's nothing and it will fade away.
It's just people grasping at straws.
PF just on the channel 6 news sports report. Very positive comments on AL; strictly football. Didn't talk about anything relating to football for AU; just Trooper's alleged use of the N word and discussed whether or not he should be fired for it.
My wife wants to thump him on the head.
The Clip of Trooper Taylor. The word is allegedly at the 6-8 second mark.
Sensi,
I am not listening to the crap, but it will blow over in a week won't it? Seems kind of idiotic. Not like he used it in any kind of derogatory way. It will pass.
I can't hear it Sensi.
It is, CWE. But when Finebaum gets his teeth locked on to something, he rarely lets it go.
I hope it blows over, but he is making waves. I suppose we'll see if he has any real reach outside of this state soon enough.
Well, sticking with my Looney Tunes G-rating, Finebaum is at least one "N" word himself...choose from nincompoop or ninny. Anyone at AU who caves in to that deserves the same description.
It won't go anywhere, because at best you still can't make out what he is really saying to Mike McNeil.
The volume is low, but lean closer and you can hear the sound.
Ofcourse I can't really make out WHAT he said, but I really don't know.
I am very surprised this went all weekend and nothing until 2 p.m. today.
That's why I bring up the REC conspiracy.
I'm sure FSJ will come on here and blast me but oh well. He knows they exist and what they can do.
I hope Auburn and Trooper totally ignore this and don't apologize. That will make it a much bigger deal. Just don't even acknowledge it and hopefully it will go away. I listened to the clip and I couldn't hear exactly what he said.
This isn't an Eldon Hawley situation, it will go away.
I have a feeling the media lockdown around this program is about to be total.
I agree with you, Cincy. I already ignore Finebaum, so it won't change my behavior. Hopefully, AU will do the same.
Thanks for the link, Sensi. I'm not sure what he said; I didn't understand a lot that he said in that clip. I'd have trouble talking with Trooper, fortunately, the players don't.
Aubun grad student on Jeopardy. WDE!
I'll take People Who Stir the Pot for 300, Peter.
This isn't something the national media will get excited about. Good lord, that was a great clip and there was nothing wrong with it. People make a big deal about a word. Geeze, how frickin childish. It is just a word. I don't use the N-word, but it isn't because it is a bad word and it isn't that I would be afraid of getting killed. I just wouldn't want someone offended by the word. The intent behind the use of the word is what is important. Tropp was using it as a show of brotherhood. They have a common bond. Man, what a bunch of crap over nothing. They might as well be bashing him for saying my brother or calling that other player his dog. Whoopie!!! How ignorant the Alabama media ends up looking.
Who is number 61 - his new dawg?
That was cool.
If I in any way thought any of our players or coaches were racists I would say fire them. That includes Malzahn, Chizik, Trooper, the whole dang bunch. If one of our players turned out to be racist, kick him off the team. If Pat Sullivan turned out to be racist, take his picture off the stadium. There is no room for racism in college football, every darn one of them. Call me an n-lover or whatever, but I appreciate these kids.
OOoh, Trooper called a player a dog. Lets bash him. Geeze, how idiotic and out of touch with this generation. Trooper is one heck of a players coach and I hope Chizik lets him address this.
I find his making fun of Lutzenkirchen's name and asking if it was German or something offensive.
Coosa- I would agree with all of those but Miss. I think they are highly overrated.
Also agree with the REC attack. I think they are afraid of Troops impact on recruiting now that the offense is looking good.
Auburn guy got second. Between the speed of the two day defending champ and the Ezra Pound Daily Double, he was just outmatched. Still took home a nice chunk of change.
Trooper Taylor would have told that Jeopardy kid - No Buzzer Drops!
C'mon Dawg!
Jay G.,
If you are lurking, what is your take on the Coach Trooper Taylor controversy?
By the way, Todd has been doing much better than I anticipated. I was just hoping he would go out there and no do something stupid. He has actually made some great throws.
Personally, I think if all the excitement over that video hits the national media, the state of Alabama is going to look like a bunch of backwards idiots that aren't in touch with the world these days. It is simply hilarious that the media would be even dumb enough to cover that.
Sensi,
The $300 answer is:
In fall 2009, this Hottie's comment about attention whores spiraled out of control and eventually led to her leaving the HABOTN to start her own blog where her minions could play.
Jay should be able to come up with a fine story out of this. I might be able to come up with the headline.
Finebaum makes idiot of himself over nothing.
Finebaum, still in search of a life.
Trooper friends with player, Finebaum perplexed.
Peter:
Who is she who is no longer here?
Dan - So you think we are better than 9 of our opponents? Sounds good to me, but most didn't agree with me on 8.
I agree that MS is overrated. They had to struggle to beat us last year with our dysfunctional team and coaches. Still, they've got some good players, and they do have a good QB. Of course, I think we do to. Todd is the one player that we could not afford to lose if we are to have a really good season
Sorry I brought it up, gang.
Pointless.
I have listened to the clip 5 or 6 times. I can not say with certainty that is what the Trooper said. It does sound like that is what he said; however, I could not swear to it in a witness stand. I happened to think, Coach TT had a microphone on. He knew he was being filmed and recorded. I just don't think that he would have been that careless or inconsiderate under those circumstances.
Man, we have someone on war eagle extra with an opinion about HABOTN. Apparently they don't like me.
"I like Tate's articles and coverages but this blog is MUCH MUCH better because it's actually about football (and not endless drivel and inanity by the regular posters)"
Surprisingly enough the poster was anonymous. I would just like to say that I write some of the best drivel going today.
BTW, film clips can be doctored.
IV, I believe he said it and it believe it is a big whoopie. There was no maliciousness in the way he said it. I have absolutely no problem with it.
Correct, Sensi.
The question you were looking for, "Who is Paul Finebaum?", was the $100 question.
It certainly looked as though Mike McNeil had no problem with what he said Steve.
I'll take the $400 Peter
FWIW, I'm pretty sure Monte Kiffin runs a 3-3-5 defense like WVU did.
Okay, I responded accordingly, Steve. Andy will not answer my question, though.
Don't post on here much anymore but had to chime in on the trooper controversy. I think he said "give me one McNeil".
The only problem I would have if in fact it was a gaffe on Trooper's part, is that Auburn just does not need to have to deal with this right now. We have had many unwarranted knocks on Auburn over the past year and we just don't need another one now. If that is what he said, he has got to be more careful about that and any other controversial statement he might make.
After all, he is our Assistant Head Coach.
Sensi,
The $400 answer is:
This pot stirrer is awesome!
Even if that was a white coach saying that, if he said it the way Troop did and the player wasn't offended, I have no problem with it. You can see that Troop was talking to the player in a respectful friendly manner. People get way to excited over some things.
Steve,
I agree for the most part with what you are saying; however, you know that the news media, aside from Mr. Tate, can make a mountain out of a mole hill at times and they will if this is not handled properly.
I've watched the tape several times. I certainly don't think that was the N-word. I do think certain fans are trying to say that it was the N word just to cause problems.
Dave,
I just listened to it again and I am with you, it is not a cinch that is what he said and you are right, some Bama fans will take it and try to make something out of it in order to try and hurt Auburn.
WDCWE: We'll have to agree to disagree on K.T.
Peter,
Who is Josh Moon?
Good guess, Sensi, but the answer we were looking for was Peter Frankenschmidt.
...upon further review, the judges have decided that, despite possible controversy over how awesome anyone nicknamed Bags can be, Josh Moon is an acceptable answer.
I don't see a controversy.
I see a radio host who likes to create spectacles (not the glass kind) to fill the four hours of air he is allotted each afternoon.
If I heard Taylor say The Bad Word to a player right now, in front of my face, at practice ... I still wouldn't think it was an issue. That's just how I see it. Maybe I'm wrong.
Jay,
As always, I appreciate your thoughts.
The blogger-in-chief has spoken, controversy over. Move along nothing to see here.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Jay G.
Peter, thanks to the judges.
As I said before, I met Moon last weekend at 'Stina's tailgate and he was a super nice guy. I may not agree with his take, but I'll never say he isn't polite and quite funny.
Jay G. also gave me a ton more than I expected. It made the afternoon catching up face to face with Hotties (Dear Leader is the man) and I'm not kissing A saying that. I mean it.
I listened to the clip several times and all I hear is him calling Mike McNeil "Dirt."
I just hope Alvin Holmes doesn't get involved somehow. We may never hear the end of it.
btw, Andy Bitter was just accused of running the Carlos Mencia of football blogs by a certain poster for his ripoff of Luntime Links...
I feel bad for saying that, though, because a thousand blogs, not just ESPN's have used that phrase. It's just overdone, so I'm calling out anyone that copies it.
Rico McNeil is a nice kid, gang. I've interacted with him several times and he is nice and very witty.
Bitter is a good dude.
He works hard. I like him. I encourage you to check out his blog ... after you check mine, of course.
This day and age, if you want to be a head coach you can lie and cheat all you want but you can't get caught saying something like that...if indeed that is what he said. I was watching that live and didn't datch or think anything of it. That's a tough one.
I concur. I like Bitter's blog. He gives a ton of good info.
ormaybe it's "der"
Personally I have no problem with Trooper Taylor or any words he uses, or any of his theatrics on the sideline.
As for the REC wanting Trooper gone, I think that is a bit of a stretch. The area where he excels is in recruiting. We seem to be doing fine there.
You may like him, but could you take him in the Thunderdome?
I don't think he said it.
Can one of you all trace this "controvery" back to its circle of berth?
He posts then swigs the coffee from his REC membership mug.
;-) just yanking the chain FSJ
Jay G. - origin 2:05 pm PFRN
Just a shame that we have a bunch of kids trying their best but it always feels that something like this can be a stalemate and feels like certain outlets just try to bring AU down or Au is unlucky enough for this to happen. I am die hard AU, so this may be the 'homer' in me. Just BAD either way.
Jay...
To be honest, I didn't think he said it when I heard it live. To be honest I didn't think one thing about it until I started reading the football boards after the game.
Now Finebaum was slowing the thing down today on his show and it sounded like a closer call..
With that said, I don't care. If the player has no problem with what he did/didn't say, who cares?
They were talking about it on Opening Drive this morning.
Ronnie Brown running the Wild Fish is a bad man.
I don't know what time it started on Finebaum but I got in the car about 430 and they were talking about it then. He had Donald Jackson on and he was rambling on and on...
I tuned in to hear Pat Dye.
Wow!
The San Fran Chronicle guy loves him some Auburn.
I heard about this on Sunday afternoon, so that's before Finebaum.
So, wait. The word is too offensive to be uttered or even spelled, but it can be played over and over over open radio waves, volume and speed manipulated to make it clearer, for thousands to hear?
Bitter is a lean dude. I'm probably stronger than him, but I feel pretty certain he could elude me.
I don't think he's a fighter.
Jay..I agree..It was all over a few football boards I read Saturday night.
I stole that link from War Eagle Extra, by the way. Shoulda credited it, I guess. Anyone got any background on anyone who ranked Auburn higher than 23rd, though?
I grew up listening NWA.
Maybe that desensitized me? I'm certainly not going to say The Bad Word myself, but it's pretty common to hear it out and about.
With that said, I don't think Trooper Taylor said The Bad Word on the clip Sensi linked above.
Maybe there was another instance?
Wow, Blogger Tate's two yellow lines have nothing on this guy. Half of his poll is extremes.
The thing about the clip that was linked above is that it is a recording of a recording of the clip..
So who knows what was said.
I was singing NWA in the car today on the way to Domino's. Without my iPod. I was channeling my inner Eric Wright.
Loved me some NWA back in the day.
I'm over the Legends poll. WVU got votes, but Auburn got none. How does that work, exactly? I'll tell you. A bunch of old fogies have lost their mind, that how...and they want to try and replace the coaches poll!?! pffft.
Auburn - Runaway Train
This is cool.
We don't deserve to be ranked yet - who have we played of note? Won't be ranked after next week if we win. and shouldn't be ranked if we get past TN, A true rank will be after the BBQ in ARK.

BTW - Hi All.

pages are in 200s...
I don't necessarilly disagree with the ranking thing, I just was complaining about the cred. of a poll that gives credit to WVU before Auburn.
Is bama this worried about Auburn they they would try to make this an issue???
Which Herschel will be in the ring?
What has happened to my MonD?
PF...
Thanks for the Pollspeak link. What a cool site that I didn't know existed.
Mon doesn't post here anymore BigEZ.
If the current bunk is the best our adversaries have to throw at us, we're in great shape.
no problem, ehyou. Andy Bitter posted a link to it yesterday, and Allen the Samoan posted it last week when he was giving Jay G crap over the Pitt pick, so I can't really take credit for it.
It's all relative. In my microcosm, you're the man.
Awfully quiet - is everyone still worn out from the game?
No, we're just all breaking out the latest in technology and playing Trooper being wired for sound on Saturday backward and seeing what hidden messages are in there.
PF, there is something special about a guy from an Ohio paper rating Ohio State the lowest of all the voters. Just incredible.
I think Florida is not as good as they were believed to be. They struggled Saturday. I think UT is about where they were thought to be which is slightly below average. I think neither UGA or ARKY are all that good at all. I think we are better than we were expected to be which is slightly above average. I think LSU will have trouble scoring points all year long. Based on all of that, I think we have a chance to win every game we play. Not saying we will, just that we have the opportunity if we play well. I think we beat both UT and ARKY on the road.
I think our D likes to make plays. They will get burned alot trying to make those plays. But if they keep getting after it, like they did Saturday night, they'll make the plays more than they won't.
I don't really know how the year will turn out, but I like our chances. That's all I'm sayin'.
What's up peeps? An extremely aggravating day of travel for yours truly. Sat in the plane for 2+ hours before taking off for LAX thanks to some mechanical issue. Made it to L.A. just in time for the mid-day rush hour making my commute to my final destination over 2 hours. Spilled coffee all over myself after a quick stop on the rental shuttle bus. Ever drive a Prius? They're different & you get no instructions on their idiosyncracies. Punk manager here at the customer site scheduled a USELESS meeting at 5p Pacific which is my 8p and I've been up since 4a. Jerk.
So, what are we talking about? I'm too tired to catchup.
PP,
I like the way you think.
Snacks -
Any thoughts to two ESPN national guys giving Auburn a vote? ONe thing I trust out of them compared to some of the other names on the board is that they will have seen a broader range of games in person than most writers, thus a more representative cross sample to be able to compare to...
Looking at a lot of the guys "at the top," they sure appear have gaps in what they do.
Norm, you win the Monday award.
If we beat UT and Arkansas, this will have been a very successful season. I like our chances now too.
It should be interesting to see Ole Nutt go up against the Cocks Thursday night too. They should be a pretty good test with the South Carolina offense apparently finding itself against Georgia.
The two ESPN guys voting usually have a grasp of what's going on, so I think their polls hold some weight. I don't necessarilly agree with them putting Auburn that high. I have to guess that they see the Ball State game as a gimmee and with Auburn 4-0, they would put Auburn around 20, so they're just a little ahead of themselves.
PPhred -
Georgia is beginning to get it's O going...they have problems in the running game, but their WR's are phenoms...esp. Green....Tall and can run....think their QB is coming around a bit...they are going to be tougher than many gave them credit for after the first game..
Rick Karle on our local Fox station just had a teaser about Trooper coming up in the next hour of news. Finebaum is a regular on this station.
Snacks,
"see us beating Ball State..." This is one I've quizzed JGT on a time or two and not sure I've ever gotten his take on...
Should a voter place his vote based on the performance of a team strictly on the body of work ACTUAL to date...OR...how many give weight to the buzz around a program, the creampuff schedule a team may have (thus more likely to be unscathed), etc. - perception?..because they are banking on that team beating the patsies and achieving a "deserving record"
sorry I paraphrased your quote incorrectly...I'll straighten it out next time I give you your fifteen minutes of marquis time.
A.J Green could be the best receiver in the nation. He definitely owns the conference (Julio who?- 11 games without a touchdown?) The better the other WRs get, the more the chances he'll get at single coverage. He can barely be shut down doubled up, much less if he gets mano a mano with a DB. I'm scared of facing him in November.
Daniels = Marquee
I will be in the audience tomorrow when the vice president speaks. Any suggestions? Maybe yell out "You plagiarize!" Or ask him "Do you agree with me that Trooper Taylor is change we can believe in?"
Do they get voting rules? I've always been under the impression that each voter has his/her own philosophy.
Yeah..Julio who...
He's horrible.
I'll take Darvin Adams. I said it.
You got her email ehyou?
Jet - stand up and walk out in a huff. It's the right thing to do.
Oh yeah, on your way out, rip a big fart in his general direction.
FSJ there is no arguing that Julio has not scored a TD in 11 games dude...Darvin Adams on the other hand!!!
BTW Those damn mannings!!! crazy
Yeah..he probably won't even get drafted..
I just watched and listened to the Trooper Taylor thing. I can't believe that was a story line today. What a bunch of crap. I think he said he wanted a chicken McNugget but I'm not really sure.
Jay G - is that what passes for good journalism these days?
I saw the original ESPN broadcast during the game and heard nothing out of the ordinary. Don't know what's going on with that audio clip.
My only problem with the use of that term is that it confuses, then stirs up the rednecks. America would be better for all groups to just drop the word all together.
If Troop did say it and if McNeil took it as brotherhood, then PF should shut up.
Keep ignoring the fact he hasn't scored in 11 games, obviously he will get drafted... don't be delusional though because of his hype...once he produces (i.e TD's) then brag about him
+ playing the likes of North Texas? FIU? cmon dude get a TD grab
Easy Hag...
If it was 4th and 10 and you needed a WR to make an athletic play, rather throw to Julio or Darvin?
Not ignoring anything...Julio hasn't scored a touchdown in 11 games...
But you can bet that there are two people assigned to him on just about every play he is in on...
There's a reason for that.
Uh..he played the first quarter against FIU and didn't play Saturday.
Your right Julio is a god, sorry He leads the SEC in TD's yards pretty much everything...I almost forgot
Anyone know what happened to Jerraud Powers in the Indy game?
that was a great game by the way.
Jhag....drop it. Julio and the UGA WR are the best 2 in the SEC right now. The UGA WR has much better stats this year....his team needs him to do such. Julio has a nagging injury and they are protecting him.
This comment has been removed by the author.
Double coverage? Please. All the Stars and Escalades in the world can't erase an 11 game no-TD slump.
FSJ, this is my favorite topic to discuss with Bammers this season. It's brought me much enjoyment. Nothing personal.
The UGA WR??? COME ON...atleast learn his name before you call me out like that...
A.J. Green
Peter and their only reply is ohhh he is going to get drafted so high..he was a 5 star parade All American...blah blah BLAH..catch a damn TD pass then talk
Hoopie, Darvin Adams, A.J. Green, and Jarius Wright are the top receivers in the SEC. Julio Jones is not in the discussion.
Hoopie didn't know A.J Green exsisted...FWIW
Hoopie brought up A. J. Green. Where have you been?
It wasn't worth the effort to remember or look up and I don't need to prove anything.
Don't change the subject with an attack..that's juvenile....in fact that's a silly act right out of the juvenile Tigerdroppings site.
Julio has to be in the discussion. He is a great receiver even if he played on a run oriented team last season.
"Julio and the UGA WR are the best 2 in the SEC right now. The UGA WR has much better stats this year...."
LOL
btw, how awesome is this stat chart to look at:
2009 Conference Leaders
PASSING ATT COMP YDS TD
J. Cox, Georgia 80 50 738 8
C. Todd, Auburn 80 43 725 6
R. Mallett, Arkansas 61 38 717 6
RUSHING CAR YDS AVG TD
B. Tate, Auburn 59 349 5.9 1
M. Hardesty, Tennessee 64 345 5.4 3M. Ingram, Alabama 44 297 6.8 3
RECEIVING REC YDS AVG TD
A. Green, Georgia 17 275 16.2 3
D. Adams, Auburn 15 261 17.4 4
J. Wright, Arkansas 10 247 24.7 1
Oh it's nothing personal....
Alabama doesn't need Julio to score touchdowns..They need him to move the chains which he is adept at doing.
Ingram, Richardson, & Upchurch can take care of punching it in.
Also, I would wait until the young man plays against a real defense before crowning him.
Mississippi State may be the second worst team in the SEC. La Tech isn't a great team. And I would venture to guess that WVU is no better than a middle of the pack SEC team.
jhag, you apparently missed it. When hoopie said this he was talking about A.J. Green. Take the time to read the posts. Reading is fundamental.
"Jhag....drop it. Julio and the UGA WR are the best 2 in the SEC right now. The UGA WR has much better stats this year....his team needs him to do such. Julio has a nagging injury and they are protecting him."
I'm not crowning Darvin Im just saying the numbers...but we shall drop this and time will tell
Steve, Im not blind...Im talking about the fact she didn't even know the best WR in the SEC's name...let me be
Bama hasn't needed Julio and they are obviously protecting him. It would really be stoopid to just look at stats.
This started with jhag propping Darvin over Julio.
I'll ask it again. It's 4th down coach...who ya gonna double team....Darvin or a healthy Julio??
Yes, I know he's good. I don't care. It's funny right now to bring up the fact that he hasn't scored a TD in 11 games to Bammers who swear that he's the best in the SEC. That's all.
Jhag... I live in Ga.....I know AJ Green
Hoopie doesnt hate bama...what a damn shame
I'm going with Darvin. His routes are near flawless right now and he's in single coverage.
Why in the world would you care if Hoopie knew A. J. Green's name? Bizarre.
And the stats kind of prove what Hoopie was saying. Notice you don't see McElroy there. Bama has traditionally been a running team. They are passing more this season, but Julio has been hurt. How good a receiver is doesn't depend upon stats based on the QB that is throwing to him. It is based upon how he plays.
Your taking this way out or porportion... I stated a fact that Julio Jones has not scored a single point in 11 games! and some how you try to blast me...oh the humor
If you guys are gonna contend that us being ranked 8th in the SEC defensively means nothing this early in the season, then I hardly see how using the same stats to prove who is the best receiver in the league makes sense.
I am happy we have big play makers this year, but I think saying that Adams is the best in the SEC is a little premature at this point.
Exactly jhag..You hate Bama so your orange and blue shades are clouding your judgement.
I'm suspect of a bruised knee keeping anyone off the field, btw. I know, you want to protect your best players and all, but that's not really a gnarly injury (sure, it hurts like hell when it happens, and causes some lingering soreness and maybe swelling for a day or two, but it's not sideline worthy). Have a feeling something is being hidden.
Nobody came close to saying that Darvin Adams is the best WR in the SEC....
But Julio has 4 career Td's
Darvin has 4 TD's in three games...BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Good lord Peter..
They were playing two high school teams..Why risk getting him hurt more?
Are you kidding me?
JHAG..one more inane personal attack and I'll mention what you and Joe Biden have in common.
I said second best at this point. The other second best receiver is not on the field, so I'll continue to make fun of Bama through my orange and blue shades. Ya'll leave JHAG alone. He's just messing around and stirring the pot based on a comment that I made to start the pot flowing in that direction.
do it!
I believe Trott played with a bruised knee against WV, but the question is why would they need to play Julio?
Forget the Julio stuff, he is a living legend him and his 11 games straight without a TD, case closed.
Our receivers have been a surprise this year. I didn't think Adams and Fannin would be our best receivers. Zachery is up there too, but I thought he and Hawthorne would be the guys. Adams has pretty much shocked me, especially against MSU and WV.
FSJ, if those games don't matter enough to get your top players on the field,at least for a half, they shouldn't be played at all. He's got a bruise, not a strain or anything worse. There's something more to it that "protecting" him.
IM outtie..Peter keep it real dood...things sure have changed around here
Plagerism.....earlier today you copy and pasted a post from a guy that posted in the Cullman Times and didn't "bother" to mention from whence it came. I suspect a study will reveal that this happens regularly.
I've noticed that when you post and run...it is a concise, coherent witty post. When you put 3 of your own sentences...not nealry the case.
Well then tell us what you think it is Peter..
He practiced today..and is expected to play Saturday..
Possibly. It could be to get other players experience too. I would be tickled of we set some of our starters on the bench for Ball State.
gnite all
When did this become the hottest Bama blog on the net anyway? Why so much talk about Bama?
You honestly thought I came up with that quote????? Hhahahahahah
it was a facebook status and I liked the quote...Is this english class and I have to cite every quote I find?
And what in the world are you even talking about?
I've noticed that when you post and run...it is a concise, coherent witty post. When you put 3 of your own sentences...not nealry the case.
I already said all that I think. I care not to speculate about specifics, just vague conspiracies.
Mwwwwwah, FSJ. (that's a big kiss to let you know that I'm just jerking your chain----ewww, I just kissed a dood. No, worse...a bammer.)
Take care folks. I will be back when the Auburn fans arrive.
digression kills
It just happened, SteveFC. I made an aside joke about Julio in a post praising A.J. and saying I was scared of facing him. FSJ showed up at the right time to take offense, JHag appeared to appreciate my joke, and it spun out of control. You and Hoopie joined in, Kristina voiced her disapproval, and the rest is history. So is the HABOTN. Stuff just works that way here sometimes. It's always ready for the perfect storm.
Yes, Phred relieves my pain!
OK. Let's be nice.
I didn't see anyone stepping over the line. jhag sometimes is caustic.
Hoop, did you think he was really coming after you?
Phreddie, what digression?
Frankenbummer is caustic, too, at times. I still didn't think anyone was over the line.
low blow, Steve. Everyone that has contributed tonight, save FSJ, is an Auburn fan, even if they don't fit your perfect mold.
Phreddy: Nobody accused Finebaum of good journalism.
Me, Caustic? Nah. Misunderstood? Maybe.
Oh I don't think anybody was over the line..
I do think it is interesting that nobody addressed Hoopie's question...
"I'll ask it again. It's 4th down coach...who ya gonna double team....Darvin or a healthy Julio??"
I did, FSJ.
I'm going with Darvin. His routes are near flawless right now and he's in single coverage.
Julio gets double teamed a whole lot. That dedicated coverage opens up opportunities for lots of other guys ... wideouts and tailbacks.
I didn't see jhag saying the kid sucks or anything. Maybe I missed it?
Jay G to the rescue, glad to see this guy...Arguements can be healthy sometimes...
Caustic
1. capable of burning, corroding, or destroying living tissue.
2. severely critical or sarcastic: a caustic remark.
thanks for expanding my vocabulary and I like it
I could care less about Julio Jones...just putting that out there.
I was just saying that I don't think we should be ranking anything, let alone who the top receivers in the conference are, at this point in the season.
