Belated Tuesday night report

Hey everyone. I was in a hurry to get home Wednesday night, so I didn't provide a post-practice report. I'll denote that with a BONUS tag.
  • Gus Malzahn on Auburn's pace, which didn't satisfy him last week: ``we’re wanting to snap the football as fast as we can and keep the hammer down and not give them time to look up."

  • Malzahn on if he'll use TB Eric Smith this weekend: ``We’ll just have to see. It’s hard to say right now. We’re just kinda moving him around."

    BONUS
  • LB Craig Stevens on the beat-writer squabble he witnessed a few weeks back: ``I thought they were playing at first. I didn't know what to believe. I thought I was getting punked."

  • Stevens on his performance against Louisiana Tech: ``The first half, I'm not gonna lie. I was tired in the first half because I had to run down on the first kickoff and then they had a long drive right after that. It took me a while to get my breath back. Once I got my breath back and got my second wind, I was OK."

  • OL Andrew McCain on the task ahead: ``Our goal is to get to Atlanta and win in Atlanta. Mississippi State comes in with a really good defense. They play fast. They play physical. We've got a challenge ahead of us and we're in a situation where this is one practical step we can take toward our goal.

    BONUS
  • McCain on the team's approach heading into the Louisiana Tech game: ``Coach Chizik made a point before we left LaGrange to ride over here for the game … that people were going to watch us and people are going to her about us and how that game went. Based on that, they're going to make judgments on who we are. It's the same thing in life: People either see you do something or hear about something you did and they're making judgments on who you are.

  • McCain on why coaches seem almost grumpy this week: ``They don't want anybody to get ahead of themselves. It's one game and there's a whole lot more to come. It's one of those things where we said: We're going to enjoy this (on) Saturday night. That's the fruit of all the labor we've put in. Then the labor starts over again the next day."

  • Kodi Burns on the "Wildcat" formation: ``I definitely think it has a lot more potential for it to be better than it was. If you notice, the guys who were tackling either Onterio or me were in the secondary. I guess it’s a pretty good sign we can get on those guys. We just have to be able to make them miss and go all the way. With the Wildcat, I think we’re just scratching the surface."

Thanks, IV. I try to get it right. Not always there, but I'm generally way above average and take some pride in keeping up with programs around the country.

For instance, I think SoCal will beat Ohio State this week, but not because of the Navy performance. I think teams with genuine well-rounded team speed (which SC has loads of) can get over on brutish teams like Ohio State. I also think Matt Barkley, though just a freshman, is a better all around QB than Pryor. At least, for what his team asks him to do.

10:04 PM

Life is well, Sensi. Thanks for asking.

Wow, FSJ, great. If you think it better than a Bama win it must be good. I will definitely try it.

Steve, this is a nice place to live and work. The wife and I have wanted to move here for a while and when this opportunity arose, we couldn't resist. Sold the house and everything. She does the commute thing for now. We hope the economy rights itself soon so she can start the job search closer to here. But for now, living here is great.

I think i'll move to Auburn too..

I'd probably be run out of town quickly though.

Monica, your avatar has become some bizarre eye test or something. I had to zoom in to make sense of it.

Cincy,
What desert can you make yourself like and how long does the transformation take?

Are you saying you're finally going blind, Steve?????

Give 'em the Wagner!

Charlie don't surf!

The horror. The horror.

Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop Tarts! Ahhh.

I've had enough. Later HABOTNistas.

I can't believe Tom is seriously considering buying a condo on Magnolia. I mean serious enough that he has been pondering our investments and what we would need to do to make it happen. It would still be just for game weekends until retirement, but I think it would be awesome to live in Auburn.

Blogger Quitstina said...

Actually, faker, there are a few Alabama fans in town. We are a very progressive town ;-)

I have been blind for some time. I always thought what they told me as a teenager was a lie. Go figure.

Also have a great recipe from the Seelbach on what essentially is a bourbon infused chocolate pecan pie.

OMG.....

Better than a Bama championship..

I need a moment..

11:00 PM

I see an Bama joke coming here. Are there any Alabama fans in this town. Well, the last one I saw was hanging from that tree.

Is shaving your palms as hard to do as it sounds Steve?

If a good job opportunity came up, I'd move to Auburn in a heartbeat.

SM,
Unfortunately it takes very little to make myself like desserts. As is evidenced by the 15 pounds I am trying to lose. Bread pudding is the only one I've ever tried I don't like. Sad, isn't it?

FSJ, There's one called Steve who calls the local homer sports show every afternoon.

Shaving your palms is overrated.

These jobs things are overrated too. That is why I became a greedy bastard and put every penny I can in mutual funds.

Well Cincy, you have the perfect diet plan. Fix bread pudding for every meal and only bread pudding.

Blogger cincytiger said...

Did y'all see the ad for Charter Bank is Auburn that is paying 5% interest for a checking account?

11:04 PM
Blogger cincytiger said...

Sunday,
That might work. At least until I get FSJ's recipe.

11:05 PM
Blogger Quitstina said...

Cincy, you obviously have not had good bread pudding.

Use your imagination JZ

11:05 PM
Blogger j-z said...

Will they pay interest on what you'd like to have in your checking account?

11:05 PM

Keep the eyes peeled, RK. They post stuff all the time.

Blogger IV said...

J-Z has no imagination.

11:06 PM
Blogger Unknown said...

No way are they paying five percent without strings attached. I do have a way2save account that pays 5% for the first year, but it has limits on the amount of money you can put in it.

11:06 PM
Blogger cincytiger said...

j-z,
I don't think they are that generous.

11:06 PM
Blogger j-z said...

Does anybody really think me using my imagination is a good idea?
