First Post: Friday

Hey everyone. Thanks for participating in a lively night of comments. Looks like the Tiger Talk/ESPN game combo works for a lot of HOTTIES, so we'll keep doing it that way.

Special thanks to Chip Chip for providing me a key aural hookup. Your hustle is (now) noted and appreciated.

Beatles: Rock Band is great. Best Rock & Roll band ever? I'd have to say yes. Think about all the different kinds of songs they made. Many of them were excellent. Truly amazing what they accomplished in a relatively short period of time.

Here's the Auburn situation at this moment:

Mike McNeil was a 4 star safety in the 2007 recruiting class that AU fans were pumped to get.

Darren Bates was a 2 star recruit in the 2009 class that AU fans criticized Tubs about.

Go figure.

I think Mcniel reclaims his job assumeing he can get back to past preformance levels.

1:46 PM
Blogger WarEagleRK said...

According to the coaches McNeil has been like a player/coach while he's been out. I think he's impressed his coaches.

Bates had a good game Saturday, but it's not like he was tested that often.

That being said, I personally think McNeil is overrated and seems to find himself out of position a lot. At least last year that was my observation.

Blogger paulmain said...

1:51 PM

I don't want to be negitive but i sure hope last weeks preformance was not a mirage, and that we dont lay an egg offensivly this week.

If we look good again this week i will be completely convinced we are on the right track.

1:52 PM
Blogger AUfan said...

McNeil never seemed to play up to his reputation to me, either. I will be the first to say I don't know exactly how the coaches rate the players, however.

Good point on the 1 game for Bates, he just seems like a more aggressive player on first look than McNeil was. McNeil was one of the players I really thought might benefit from Chizik's secondary coaching skills.

Yes, I'll say it. Episode two made me cry. I already love Auburn, but I am so in love with these coaches and this team. That Coach Luper is chill for real.

And WOW what a smart recruiting tool this is going to be.

and another thing FAH is not getting the big head

AND anyone who wants to minimize that things were bad should watch these shows and listen for the way these kids talk - there are LOTS of clues they tell you they were NOT being coached as football players or as young men like they should have been

And Monica, you are right. These kids didn't deserve last season. I am not talking about the losses. I am talking about a team that went out there and looked unprepared. I don't mind if we lose because the other team was better, but to lose because we weren't prepared is unfair to these players.

Loved the show. It's amazing to see Chizik so chatty and fired-up in comparison to his press conferences. Monica is right about recruiting, I hope they continue the free viewings on the web-site. It reminds me of the "Hard Knocks" NFL show on HBO.

Nominations:

Thunder and Lightning
Shrimp and Grits
Death and Destruction
Peaches and Herb
Hardcastle and McCormick
Cagney and Lacey
The Fabulous Luper Boys
Bogie and Bacall

I agree. Chizik looked much more personable in that show than he did in his press conferences.

I just get a very good feeling about this team. I don't recall another Auburn team that seemed so close, possibly 1993, but that is about it.

Tommy and I picked Shrimp & Grits earlier. He came up with it, but I like it a lot.

I finally got to watch an episode or Auburn Football Everyday. Thanks for the heads up about it being free today.

Awesome show.

Didn't you LOVE them giving Chizzy the game ball? I love the way AC talks about FAH. Good stuff.

I like Shrimp and Grits a lot, but after breaking it down, don't think it works.

My vote is Death and Destruction

Sportscall was talking today about Finebaum, Jeff Shearer from WSFA in Montgomery, and I believe Shane from the Finebaum show being in front of Sanford Hall tomorrow. Can someone please confirm that I was hearing wrong, or is this really happening?

Say it ain't so.

Blogger Monica said...

Yes, it's true. Go by and say hi!

Dusty - I think if you watch episode 2 of Every Day you'll be all caught up on anything you missed today.

Will Finebaum be wearing his "I suck-up to Saban" t-shirt?

I can't believe they will be in front of Sanford Hall. I hope the cleaning crew is on standby.
