All we have are the embers
Hey everyone. We had another wildly successful Campfire® on Thursday night.
A total of 355 people attended the chat in all, which is great. Thanks for spending your Thursday night with the HABOTN.
HOTTIES who went the distance Thursday: Nurse Cincy, Eddie, KMO, FSJ, Zimas4Zimeba and jhag, who supports purity rings.

Had to be done...
jerk!
darn I didn't go the distance, shame on me
Purity rings? Really?
jhag, you deserve to be on there.
Purity rings = frustration.
They make a man ... blue?
yes..blue.
very blue.
31-13
24-21
that's all I'm sayin.
We need to discuss these purity rings at a future date. Like when your daughters are about 15 and every boy in the school is calling them. You'll love the idea of your baby girls wearing purity rings.
hahaha Blue, and down emotionally.
They also cause me to break girls hearts and all of their friends to call me bad names
"and jhag, who supports purity rings."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
that is good.
But false
I bought my little man a 100 car set of hotwheels tonight at a charity dinner. He's gonna be lovin' him some daddy.
My son LOVED hot wheels. We played cars all the time. You're right, he will love his daddy!

As a mother and as the token woman on the blog tonight, I have several things to say about purity and such, but I will save it for another time. Like I said, too much testosterone on here tonight.
I hate it when there is too much testosterone...
jhag, how nasty. I'm sure you are a very nice young man, but that is a filthy habit. Ok, this mama is going to bed before I start lecturing everyone. :) HABOTN love to you all.
Good Night Cincy... Peanut Butter Cookie love to you.
jhag - take it from someone who has dipped for 25 years and wishes he had quit 26 years ago. Quit. Now. Your whole body will thank you. Matter of fact, I think I will too. Right now. Tonight. I'm doing it for Auburn so they will win. You with me?
just not today folks, I have slowed down though
the criminoles are working their vodoo magic
Jay. Do you have a life. Campfires and the other this afternoon. Gee whiz man.
Talk about taking one for the team.
GC seemed upbeat. The calls sounded "throw in the towel bad".
He may need to get the fans in for some positive motivation.
Come on Carolina. I still love seeing FSU lose.
I have tried dip 3 times. I have vomited 3 times. It was pretty easy to stop.
It's kind of apart of his job...
everyone has ditched me :,(
I like seeing FSU lose too, but they deserved that one.
That's the liveliest that Bowden's looked in 5 years.
Go Noles!!!
F-L-O-R-I-D-A S-T-A-T-E, FLORIDA STATE, FLORIDA STATE, FLORIDA STATE, WOOOOOOOOO
Nite hotties; hate for the bammers.
Hate that I missed the campfire, sounds like a good time was had.
..oh and good morning everyone!
TGIF Hotties! Raining in No AL. Hopefully it passes through today. Leaving for La at 4:00 a.m. War Eagle!
Rain, not thunder & lightning, not tornadoes, but the threat of rain caused several HS football games in our area to be moved to last night.
Since when can't you play football because of the threat of rain?
I don't know RK..
I thought it was silly too.
My picks for week 8 of SEC action:
LSU 17, Auburn 10
Auburn’s offense has gone in the tank the last two weeks and put a thin defense in bad position leading to two straight losses in the conference. LSU’s defense is good, but the offense is a huge disappointment, especially the running game. Conventional wisdom says LSU, at home, will blow Auburn out as the Tigers have snoozed through the last two games. However, the games in this series have been close for many years and I expect nothing less this week. In the end, Auburn can’t stop any team, even a bad offense and LSU can stop teams, especially struggling offenses.
Florida 44, Miss. State 10
Tim Tebow and the Gators take on former OC Dan Mullen and his rebuild project in Mississippi State. MSU’s defense has progressively played better as the offense has started to come around some. Florida has played it close to the vest for several weeks (for varied reasons). I look at this game similar to the Gators matchup with Kentucky – Florida has way better athletes at every position (with the exception being RB). Coupled with their speed on defense and familiarity with the scheme, the Gators will roll here.
Ole Miss 27, Arkansas 24
Arkansas continues to improve at a much faster rate than their talent allows for. After blowing out Auburn and fighting Florida before succumbing in the end, the Razorbacks are due a let down in a game. Ole Miss’s offense has been less than spectacular, but the defense is solid and good against the pass. Turnovers will be the key to this game and I think Ole Miss will make enough plays to get by an up and coming Arkansas team.
Alabama 31, Tennessee 6
The third Saturday in October can best be understood as a game of hate. Just ask this guy. Tennessee had an off week after blasting Georgia (finally finding some offense to go with a decent defense) and the Vols nation would love nothing more than to play spoiler here. Alabama’s defense is top notch in every way. The running game is excellent while the passing game needs more consistency. Alabama won’t need to throw to beat Tennessee as the Vols won’t be able to handle Mark Ingram and the very good Tide offensive line. It’ll be close early, but get out of hand late.
South Carolina 27, Vanderbilt 7
South Carolina is the second best team in the SEC East so far. The defense is good and the offense works well enough especially against lesser defenses. Vanderbilt is not really good at offense or defense. The Gamecocks strut in this one.
Kentucky 26, La. Monroe 20
Without looking, which team has the better record? That’s right – the Warhawks of La. Monroe. Of course, they didn’t play three ranked teams in a row – all losses – like the Wildcats did. Kentucky comes off an emotional (if surprising) win against Auburn and returns home to take on this common (to the SEC) foe from the Sun Belt. La. Monroe is no pushover and will test Kentucky, but the ‘Cats run game should be enough to get the win here and move them above .500. In the end, Kentucky still has better players on the team than La. Monroe and that’s difference enough to matter.
Sensi,
How's the knee today?
I like the Ole Miss/Ark score, but I like Ark winning. I don't think Bama scores 31 on UT.
I hate all they quarterbacks.
RK- Did Ooltewah move their game?
Knee is some better. No tear of ligament so it's just time, ice, flexing, and waiting.
Eddie,
No Ooltewah didn't move their game.
Soddy beat Rhea County 45-20 to continue the season of doom for RCHS.
By the way, big day for me. A lot of pressure is on me.
I'm carefully putting together our first play for tomorrow night since Hoopie said we should run the pass play that I choose yesterday to start the game and it will lead us to victory.
I'm thinking a triple fake reverse that sets up a WR screen.
Speaking of first plays, E-Bro used to tell me the first play Auburn would run since it was scripted before every game. I would bet people next to me right before on what the play would be. Easy money!!! :).
My 1st play- If we kickoff, kick it out of bounds.
OH, 1st play of offense- TE Screen.
I remember hearing stories of Peyton going to Ole Miss games when he could to watch his brother and Cutcliffe didn't change his offensive signals from what he used at UT. Peyton would be telling everyone around him what the play would be and everyone just thought the guy was good, but he was just reading the sidelines.
Eddie,
I'm going to have to come kick your knee if you don't get some positive mojo going :)
Good morning, HOTTIES!
morning hotties. wish i could participate in thursday nite live but have too much to do at home now. bummer.
i'm trying to get psyched up for LSU. it's always my 2nd favorite week besides the Iron Bowl. the UK loss really zapped me. i should be back to full strength by kickoff tomorrow nite.
Let's be honest, this doesn't feel like a big game at all. I think this has to do with what we went thru last season....which reminds me....FU TUBERVILLE!!!!!!
Positive...let's see, I like our chances better if we actually wear white. Does that count Cincy?
i agree Eddie. i can't remember the last time LSU didn't feel like a real big deal. i thought it was just me. it doesn't feel right.
It's going to seem like a big deal when we beat them.
And, yes, Eddie, that is a start.
How bad will LSU fans feel if we beat them? Kinda like we did this week?
It's hard to get excited after losing at home to Kentucky.
That is one of the more shocking home losses we've had in awhile.
Eddie,
Not like we do this week...we aren't Kentucky. People sometimes lose to us at home.
True RK.
Last shocking home loss, really shoking... I say USF? What say the peanut gallery?
In honor of the game---->
Eddie,
After the Kansas State game to start 2007, the South Florida and Miss State games didn't surprise me at all. I knew against Kansas State to start the year our offense wasn't that good.
To me the loss last week was the most shocking home loss since the Miss State game in 1997.
the MSU game in '07 was a bigger shock than the USF game to me. however i'd say the UK game was bigger than those.
Anyway, is Hatin' with Jay G at 9 or 9:30 central today?
that '97 game was a big one too RK. absolutely no offense that day. still in my top 5 all-time worst games i've been to.
The 1997 game also started an insane 4 game losing streak to Miss State.
I would like to forget that 1997 game. Nothing went right...nothing. We were all stunned on the sidelines thru out that game. The team was so used to just showing up and putting the licking on them. Oh well.
i know this is random, but if anyone has a McDonald's Boardwalk Monopoly game piece and wants to become a millionaire let me know. :)
1997 was a weird year where if we had any running game at all I think Dameyune Craig had a legit shot at a Heisman and we would have had a legit shot at a national title.
Good morning from sunny BTR!
MrsTHT and I endured torrential rains yesterday while visiting Avery Island, but she finally got to see the Tabasco factory tour. This morning we'll probably scout around for antiques and needlepoint stores (I've gotten so old, I actually don't mind the former anymore; I'll never be old enough to enjoy the latter), then spending the afternoon viewing a friend's huge map collection.
WARRRRRRRRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!
GO AU TIGERS!!!
9:05 a.m. for Hatin', I believe.
haha..so cool idea....by the way maybe you'll interest to my topics about makeityourring diamond engagement rings for my makeityourring discussion topics , thanks
