BLOGGIN FOR YOUR NOGGIN: Gene Chizik speaks
Hello. I hope you're having a nice day.
- He has arrived.
- He's looking forward to going to Baton Rouge.
- "We're still a very good football team. We have a chance to win every game we play."
- On the passing game: "You can't pinpoint it on one thing. I don't believe in doing that. It's 11 guys. There are a lot of issues in there. We feel very strongly that we're going to get that rectified."
- On Ashton Richardson, a walk-on, who is the son of a great LSU defender: ``He doesn't ask for anything. He does this because he loves football and loves Auburn. I'm proud for guys like that. He's provided a lot of help on special teams."
- On LSU: "They're very talented. Big targets. A lot of guys with big bodies, fast guys. And three senior tailbacks. They've done some really good things."
- On LSU TB Charles Scott: ``It's going to be a challenge for us. We've done some nice things against the run in most games. We've struggled at times. He is a very physical tailback. That's a mentality they live and die with."
- Chizik has a lot of nice things to say about LSU's defense, too. Same 'ol.
- On Auburn's run defense: ``It's going to be a challenge every week in this league with running games. Everybody can run the football. At times Saturday night, I was really proud of our defense. There were times when we let it get away from us a little bit. We've got to be able to hold up. It can't be three quarters; it has to be four quarters."
- On if Chris Todd IS 100 PERCENT: ``Chris Todd is fine."
- On how things change during the middle of the season: ``There are so surprises now. There is no newness anything. Everything at this point is about who executes better. It's that window of the year where you see a lot of crazy things happen."
- On Josh Bynes and Craig Stevens: "It affects you with the way you practice. It affects you all the way through the week. It affects you on special teams. There are more who fall under that same umbrella. Two guys like that have been playing a lotta, a lotta football. (Games) 7, 8 and 9 is where you see it. They're tough guys. They can't come out. They don't have that luxury. They don't come out. That's not easy to do."
- On if Eltoro Freeman will play at linebacker: "He has to earn it."
- On if his team has lost a step because of the staffing situation: "In some cases. It doesn't matter. That can't be a reason. We have to go out and win football games. The reality is: Yes. It's a really fine line for us right now. We have to be very smart about how we approach every practice this time of year."
- On if he relishes being the underdog: ``We don't talk about that. It doesn't matter if we're the overdog or the underdog. We don't pay attention."
- On staying positive: "We're 5-2, not 2-5. Our guys know we have a good football team. Not one of our kids right now is ... we're not going there. Our coaches are very positive. Our kids are very positive. They know the things that help us win and they know the things that don't allow us to win. We're all on the same page. We're all marching in the same direction. We're moving on."
- That's a wrap.

Tim is lurking... I imagine he is not fine at the moment, since he can't partake in Puppet Hour.
IV, you earned that flip with the way you finished.
The weather here in Prattville has been fine today.
Of course, the weather is day by day.
When it gets cold, it's time to chop wood.
I wonder, if a convicted killer does not meet his end on the first jolt of electricity, does the warden tell the press "We will just have to execute better"?
IV be rollin'.
IV,
My dad witnessed 3 of 'em in his life ... only one of them did they have to execute better.
Thanks E-Bro, but for me to get anymore flipping time, I will have to earn it.
Execute better - that's funny stuff right there
Thanks Michael, that makes me feel good coming from the head HABOTN clown.
In order to stay on a roll, it is going to be a challenge every week in this league.
And as Jay G. says, "That's a wrap". I am out of here for awhile, I have got KP cooking pork chops on the grill.
DWWD
I wonder if Harrison ever named his cat. Now I'm thinking "Overdog" would be a good name.
In about 20 minutes I have to leave to attend a meeting of wedding and event planners. If it weren't for the open bar, I would definitely send a puppet in my place.
Oh, SC, I wish I could go in your place. I love planning weddings! Anyone have a wedding they want me to plan?? Please!!!!!
CHOC- no name for the cat yet. My wife and I argue over it daily. Her ideas are so useless.
I cant believe i missed most of puppet hour today. Must have been brainwashed by one of em
Now you guys are being useless
Cincy, you would be in heaven then. If you leave now, you won't be too late to take my place. It's not only planners, it's also florists, DJ's, hotel reps, limousine company owners, caterers, photographers etc. In other words, anything to do with weddings or events.
Harrison, you are too far away to take my place, but maybe I'll tell a fart joke on your behalf.
That's what I want to do in my next life - plan weddings. So fun!! I must say, I plan an awesome wedding.
Harrison,
What kind of name is she looking for? Cute, elegant, ethnic, bizarre? That is another of my specialties, naming animals.
Good idea Choc, everyone loves fart jokes. Especially in classy jonts
Time to go get crazy up in tha club! Well, I guess "tha club" and "The Club" are not exactly the same. The one similarity is that I don't really like hanging out in either one.
cincy. the cat is a stray she found in a gutter in our neighborhood. She wants a name relevant to that. I want a bizarre or funy name
Saw an a comment from Low today talking about how we largely owe our good start to a soft schedule.
It wasn't a gauntlet or anything, but I don't think it was a complete joke or anything. WVU is now ranked. UT looks like a bowl team. State is much better than last year. We've beaten stronger teams than Kentucky, maybe even Arkansas. We just played well the first five games. No so these last two.
Looks like I committed threadicide again.
Forgive me Father...
Thanks for all you do, Jay G.
Can't wait to HATE on Friday.

Hey Harrison, male or female cat?
it's a dude cat.
I see the puppets must have taken over.
We're naming cats
How about Alley Cat, call him Ally? Or Perdu, French for lost.
There's only one name for an Auburn cat...
Tiger.
Is your wife an Auburn fan? How about Sir Barkley?
Yeah, Nova, I agree, but seeing as how they have had this cat for awhile now, they weren't agreeing on Tiger.
Weird, my 5:36 post was actually sent after E-Bro's post with the long gap after it.
How about Cheech or Chong? :)
You could name him Cincytiger
How about after a former coach - Tater Tot
I guess I am playing by myself...
I was thinking frankenstein or swamp thing or something
More importantly, Harrison, what is your wife thinking?
she wants to name it gutters, hence the gutter. but she already has a cat named butters. Utter feline confusion could ensue
Better than UDDER feline confusion! Am I right?! I don't get it.
I like Alley.
I have always liked Whiskers as a name for a cat.
I am just going to rename them scratchy and bitey
You wanted something wierd & relevant?
Slim Jim Phantom was always my favorite Stray Cat.
Cats killed the thread.
Or you can try your own luck!

Endless hours of fun there...
Has anyone seen this:
Alabama Cheating?
At the worst, it's a penalty that wasn't called. I bet officials will be watching for it though.

I know how much you guys dislike stats, so i am posting this one.
Au defense is ranked 114th in number plays played. Only 6 other defenses have played more downs than Au's. They have been on the field for 509 plays.
That is a lot of plays.
AU is balanced however, as the offense is ranked 4th inthe number of plays run at 520.
Like I said, AU is balanced.
Interesting stats WTC. Maybe we can improve on both this weekend.
By the way, I heard Chris Todd had a good practice today. My question, did he actually practice? Or is that why he looked good?
:)
Chris Todd is fine...
We are gonna whip that bootay this weekend. Mark it.
Outstanding
Standing?
New thread UPZ.
