We're going but tailgating is questionable at that hour.
Storm flipping the page with authority.
What section are you in Kristina
First flip YEAH!!
Kristina just squeezes in where she can find a spot.
Daughters 11th birthday. Think we will stay in Montgomery Friday and go bowling and out to eat!
I'm sitting the Ole Miss game out to spend Halloween with the kids. I wouldn't get back in time even with the early kick, or else I would go.
Can't believe how cheap tickets are being sold for this year... A buddy got tickets on the 30 yard line for 30 a ticket to the UK game.
Storm- He probably could have even found a better deal from what i've seen.
We actually have 2 sets of tickets but I have yet to sit in either of them for an entire game. Sections 110 or 6.
I think Auburn should take the redshirts off of everybody at this point...
Something tells me I am in trouble for that.
Eddie I keep telling myself I don't need to go but every home game I find myself sitting in the stands yelling like a madman
I am in 16 last weeks game was the first time i sit in them. A buddy gives me his tickets for alot of the games and they are on the 40
I'll be in Baton Rouge this weekend to watch TR's breakout game, and I'll be in Auburn Halloween to watch him continue his winning streak!!!
FSJ...
No more redshirt comments from you sir.
I'll be underwater during the Ole Miss game but the DVR is set for viewing as soon as I get home.
E-bro: Somethings should go unsaid (unposted) at this time.
Kristina do you think they will play him?
That would be one bold move
I wll be at the Ole Miss game. i maybe tailgating with Cincy in the new condo,if I am told where it is.
We are trick-or-treating at Cincy's new condo!!!
I think playing TR is not a bad thing at all if Todd is done. I like it and I think it helps recruiting even more.
You going to be dressed up?
I'm not a big fan of "save the redshirt" anyway. If the guy can play now and help the team now, then by all means play him.
Have a QB in place in 3 years to be ready to take over.
I am against burning his redshirt almost as much as I am against wearing orange jerseys...almost.
My concerns for the offense have always been:
Kodi at WR is nothing Has he had more than 1 pass thrown to him?
Whene KB lines up at wildcat, Todd goes to WR. have they thrown to him once?
If KB isn't going to throw the ball, you are wasting 2 players while using the wildcat.
If you are not going to throw to KB, you are wasting one player every down, causehe plays almost every play.
Let's face it, Kodi Burns as the wildcat needs to be retitled to QB #2 offense. He is not a WR and he is not a great runner. He should not be the wildcat player. The wildcat is designed to get one of your best runners the ball in a direct snap with the threat of a short pass to keep the defense honest. The Burn's expirement needs to be terminated.
Word on the street is that Tyrik likes his redshirt too much to get rid of it. He wears it to all the parties.
My time is on the horizon.
michael.... what color do you wear to all the parties.... Michael forr the WILDCAT
Maybe he was just saying he had picked up U2's new cd "No Line on the Horizon" and it was just lost in translation.
I recall Trooper stating that T Stalworth woul dbe great at the wildcat. He played QB and WR in high school. also Ayecock woul dbe good as he was recruited by GATech as a QB, so he can run that position also.
Tyrik sure is getting a lot of comments on his status.
Now we have to build for the future and do whatever it takes to do that and get in recruits. Chizik did say the he doesn't think wins and losses will affect the recruits Auburn currently had. He does think it might be a factor in some of the bigger-named recruits the Tigers are still chasing.
He is trying to get those bigger-named recruits.
Kodi is one of the worst running "running QB" I've seen. He dances, he's always off balance and if you sneeze around him he falls down.
He's a great team player and I appreciate that, however he's not "the prototypical wildcat QB" as Brock Huard said a couple of times Saturday night.
To his credit, he did make bigger plays in the run last Saturday than he has all year. He also had a nice pass where he actually lead the receiver.
In other news, Auburn hoops picked to finish last in the West
http://wareagleextra.blogspot.com/2009/10/auburn-mens-hoops-picked-to-finish-last_19.html
Kathy,
That's not news. Sadly that's the norm.
Is it just me, or did Tomlinson go from premier to below average pretty quick?
It's just you, ehyou. It is always just you. Remember that. (to borrow a phrase from "stuff" my dad says)
Storm - I wear a white shirt with a scarlet M and leather jacket to all the parties. I actually pretty much wear that get-up everywhere
Party at my condo on Halloween! (If they get the dang appraisal done so we can close!) We are in Brown Crest, directly across the street from Lowder. Ground floor. You'll see us on the patio :)
cincy-My daughter is already askingme about getting her a place to live in that complex.
Kathy,
They have Bama ranked too high in that preseason basketball poll.
FWIW-I am hearing Lattimore is very interested in his upcoming visit to AU. It may be a race to see which Rb's commit 1st. I was thinking Lattimore was the odd man out, but apparently not.
I do not think AU gets all three. i am still sticking with the 2 I posted a while back.
I am trying to see whothe recruit at LSU that Lache and Reed were working over. He is a 2011 recruit.
wtc, the recruit's name is Bobo Perriwinkle. He is a deep snapper out of Alexandria, LA.
Should be an interesting day on Tuesday, one way or the other.
The only recruit I recall getting worked over was DeRon Furr.
RK,
I was out of the loop yesterday. What did I miss? I hear things about a certain train being restarted?
I wasn't here much yesterday either, but apparently Rollison updated his facebook saying that his time is on the horizon.
I don't know how credible that is, but I give it more credit than a Myspace or Twitter update.
Interesting.
In re Rollison ...
1. Will he help us win in Baton Rouge? Surely not.
2. Will he help us beat Ole Miss? Unlikely.
3. Will he help us beat Furman? Don't think we need him for this one.
4. Will he help us beat Georgia? He might be ready by then.
5. Will he help us beat UAT? Nope.
6. What recruit(s) will he turn by playing? Not sure, but I can't imagine many, if any.
It was my preference to play him all along, but we didn't. Now, it would be a colossal waste in my mind.
Good morning, Hotties!
Are we still hearing that Dyer is going to commit to Auburn at his homecoming on the 23rd? Or did I dream that?
If he's better than what Todd, Caudle or Trotter can bring right now, play him.
Do like the liberated ladies of the 60's and burn your redshirt.
I still think Auburn starts Todd at LSU-Alabama and just rides it out for the season.
Do you really switch horses in midstream?
This would be colossally out of character with everything this staff has done so far.
If the horse isn't getting the job done or is injured, yes.
I agree with that, RK, but I still think it would be really different from what the staff has done so far.
Unless there are reasons (like whatever was the deal with Isom) you put the players out there that you feel can best win right now.
Isom is different. He broke rules and was punished.
Chris Todd hasn't broken rules. He's played his ass and arm off and now is getting treated like the safety date.
I'm not trying to sound like the defender of Toddzilla, but I don't see the value in playing anyone else.
Can any of them help us beat LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia, or Alabama?
None of them play defense.
i hate to say it but UK used a true freshman who hadn't played ONE snap all season and look what he did to us. why not?
just sayin'.
oh, and good mornin' hotties.
Defense wouldn't have been as big of an issue the last two weeks if the offense was moving properly.
We would have definately beaten KY and been in the game vs Ark.
The QB executing properly is one of our best defensive players.
that said, i would rather not play him. for some reason i still think Todd can do it if he's arm is ok. i have no evidence to support that, though.
Scottie, that's an interesting point. Kentucky didn't ask those guys to make plays throwing the ball (which is a good thing because they couldn't/didn't); they managed a running attack that took advantage of our weaknesses on defense.
In our offense, the QB has to be more than just a guy handing it off to the RBs; he's got to make plays down the field with his arm.
I'd argue that's a major difference.
Let's also be honest - playing in JHS is one thing, playing in Baton Rouge is something else.
If Todd's shoulder is fine, then I agree he should be the QB if they can figure out what has caused the slump that he is in.
However, something is obviously wrong with him, either physically or mentally because he's not making the throws that we've seen him make earlier in the year.
KY took advantage of a bad scheme on D.
If we put 8 in the box and dare them to throw they wouldn't have moved the ball that much.
KY also took advantage of a tired D in the 4th quarter.
Why was the D tired? Because the offense put them in that position.
Our D isn't great, but it's also only going to be as good as our offense lets it be.
I thought we handicapped our D by not trying to take away the one thing we knew KY was going to do, which is run the ball.
This comment has been removed by the author.
I know Jay G is a big fan of Roof, but I think our defensive plan last week was very questionable.
Not saying we make every tackle if we have 8 in the box, but we force them to pass and put a very inexperienced QB in a situation where he could make mistakes if we tell them we are taking away their run.
i agree on your points. i was just making an observation. a true freshman provided UK with the spark it needed somehow. when i read last week UK was seriously considering bringing in Newton on the road, in JH, for the first time i thought he would get drilled. i was waaaayyyy wrong.
and yes, Tiger Stadium IS different.
At this point, I'm in the Eddie camp - I'm just looking for a way to end the UGA streak.
LSU is beatable...but we will need a forward passing game.
We also need the usual Les Miles gamble to completely backfire on them for once.
I've come to grips with the fact that Miles isn't an idiot, he's just a guy who I want to take to Vegas with a large amount of money.
I agree. Eventually, one of those is going to go wrong in a game. I just want it to be against Auburn. For once.
We need a break.
Hopefully we didn't use up all the luck against West Virginia.
Someone go to the hood and capture a leprechaun. Instead of his gold, tell him we want a pressure defense for one game.
I thought there would be an updated or deleted status this am for Tyrik, but it's still there.
I believe Tyrik could definitely run the wildcat now. My husband said that Bama ran Ingram in the wildcat the whole 4th qtr, and it worked for him. I hear the dude has an arm. You know he worked hard to get to Auburn. Maybe there was a process that the coaches gave him to build to playing time and just maybe he has proven his worth. I won't second guess the coaches. Also, I won't speculate over a facebook status, but I will be in Baton Rouge cheering on the orange and blue.
Volunteering at Special Olympics today. I am so grateful to see the sun shining brightly. Perfect weather for the kids. If you ever get the chance to attend, the kids love all the applause and hoopla.
Kathy,
That is a great thing you are doing. Kudos to you.
cincy, I heard Dyer was going to wait a little longer to commit. I heard that in Auburn third-party, so take that for what it is worth.
Sensi, I am fortunate to work for a company that definitely believes in helping the community (although now with the economy we have to take vacation time), and I'm also President of our volunteer organization. I have attended this event for years, and I can tell you I definitely get more out of it than they do (and they get a lot)!
