Auburn picks up another commitment

Hey everyone. Our friends across the Intertubes -- AuburnSports.com, ITAT and Auburn Undercover -- are reporting that Louisiana WR Trovon Reed has committed to Les Tigres.

Rivals.com ranks Reed as Louisiana's top prospect and the country's No. 7 prep wideout. He is six feet tall and weighs approximately 175 pounds. Reed had offers from basically everyone.

He is the second major offensive recruit to pick Auburn during the past week. Arkansas TB Michael Dyer pledged his undying love toward the Tigers last Friday.

I think Gawja has mailed it in. AU to win by 9.5 tomorrow.

Florida to walk in a route. By 18.

Alabama slays pups, 24-9.

UT loses a heart breaker to the Rebel 24-23 on a blocked extra point.

Hope so Mark.

I think Bama and Florida both fail to cover, but still win.

UT falls prey to the distraction of the arrests and playing an early road game. In years past, early games seemed to benefit the road team, but not this year, especially the last month or so.

10:31 PM

Sullivan and Reed are a combined 7-27 from the field tonight...
That is awful!

This is...Auburn basketball.

10:35 PM
Blogger Fearless Freep said...

I think UTee wins. Sometimes a disciplinary 'crisis' happening so close to a road game brings the team closer and they perform well.

I seem to recall one of Arkansas' defensive leaders getting busted for drug trafficking during the week before the '02 game. They came out and kicked our butts.

10:35 PM

I hope Bama and Florida both lose tomorrow...

Always enjoy your recruiting updates, thanks for sharing information.

Wake,

Tampa was the easiest. Traffic from Naples to tampa. Sarasota sucked. Wreck up in Hernandez Co. Traffic heavy all the way to Geogia. I've made killer time in Georgia. Now between Macon and Athens. Looking like 10.5 hours. Not terrible, but as good as I've done in Ga, it should've been 8.5.

2:43 AM
Blogger Peter Frankenschmidt said...

Lots of Auburn fans in Athens already. Many said simply "war damn" as they walked by. Not "war damn eagle" or even "war eagle." I don't like unfinished thoughts.

There are still racists in this world, btw.

You guys are WAY TOO early (in PF's case WAY Too late) to be thinking of going to a football game.

Good luck in Athens. I will keep watch from Montgomery.

5:43 AM
Blogger wtc said...

PF, your desire to drive 10.5 hours to Athens and watch AU makes fel bad that I did not want to drive the distance to Athens from here. Wife, daughter and Dmiller's sis made the trip.

5:45 AM
Blogger wtc said...

Dmiller-Not sure about the shopping damage. they called last night and were finishing dinner rather late with wife's brother & his wife. Good to get a free place to stay though. still inhte air of whether they drive back after the game.

5:46 AM
Blogger wtc said...

BTW-remember CHizik's comment about recruiting a punt returner?

I think he and the staff have their eye on one. Watch to see if they start pressing real soon.

5:48 AM
Blogger wtc said...

Also-the very thing that the papers wrote about this past spring about opportunities for abuse in moving the high school playoffs to UA-AU campus could start have some legs. only because UA has it first, I think there will be some bombs thrown about recruiting violations. (not saying they are true and if AU had it first they would be lobbed our way) but I am hearing some things are taking place that could push the envelope.

5:51 AM
Blogger wtc said...

Georgia hasn’t had such a massive recruiting weekend since it played Auburn in 2005. That year was similar to this one in that Georgia had played the majority of the previous month or so away from Athens and had not had a comparable marquee game when it was at home. The Bulldogs have played just one game at Sanford Stadium since hosting LSU on Oct. 3 and that was Tennessee Tech last week.

Niagra is a tough tough team according to Jeff Lebo. I think we're gonna win 25 games this year since we gutted it out against a powerhouse like that.
