Thigpen talking with Florida?
The fine peeps at footballcoachscoop.com, who have been right almost every time in situations I can verify personally, are saying assistant coach Tommy Thigpen has interviewed at Florida for a job as safeties coach.
Is it true? I'll call Thig, but don't expect to hear anything substantive about this until the Outback Bowl stuff gets into swing on Dec. 26 or 27.
For those who don't know, Thigpen is a critical (central?) component of the Tigers' recruiting enterprise. He's a main contact for most big-name prospects and I'm certain that Gene Chizik would work to keep Thigpen on the Plains if it came to that. More money? A new Pez dispenser? A bigger coaching role? You name it.
Back to the note from footballcoachscoop.com, I think I know who will get that job if it comes down to Thig and Willie Martinez. I'd say one resume is significantly thicker than the other.
**Thanks to Jet for his assistance here.

i'm glad to see Rod Tidwell showed up on the last page. dude makes me smile.
Dead Thread.
Nice work kids.
Merry Christmas Eve!!! I'm in Auburn and we are going to look for a couch!!
ElTurbo ... my computer genius son ... hacked into Santa's system and discovered the list of goodies the Big Guy will be distributing tonight to some of the HOTTIES.
THT -- A few days with 2.0 and the Fam, including a marvelous time in Tampa with ice cream and Hershey's syrup.
IV -- Free tapioca pudding at the home for a year
SteveFC -- A Tuberville blow-up doll
Frankenbummer -- A wienie whistle and a ball and chain (since he's getting married)
FSJ -- A 2 TD @$$ kicking to be opened until Jan. 7 -- sorry it's the football version of a lump of coal.
J-Z -- Free popcorn for a year and a poster of Zookeeper for target practice
DMiller -- A Jeff Lebo pinata.
RK -- A No. 18 jersey
Scottie B -- A puppy that wets on the floor before he gets outside -- appropriately named "Ziemba."
Dear Leader -- A velour warm up suit.
Hoopie -- an improved real estate market and one week free of speculation from HOTTIES.
Eddie -- A starring role in Mickey Mouse Club 2010
E-Bro -- Snow to remind him of Colorado
Ehyou -- A case of Duke's Mayonnaise
Phred -- More time to post
Jhag -- A four year ride to AU with a "Get Out of Jail Free" card just in case.
Norm -- total consciousness and improved vision.
WTC -- subscriptions to all known recruiting services
Zookeeper -- triplets. Just because.
Jay G -- unfettered access to AU or a 10-year contract with ESPN.
CincyT ...
Talk to WTC ... he's the HABOTN interior decorator.
THT, thanks for the tip on the "display mixed content". Even though I haven't been around long I would like to also say that I'm glad 2.0 (if I'm welcome to refer to her that way) made it home.
Jet, is that # 18 a Ryan Hooker jersey?
hey CH=B - did the IE tip actually work?
2.0 is at the mall getting some clothes since most of her clothes are in the lost suitcase.
Cincy - after AU beats UGly next year at J-H, can we come over to your condo and burn the couch?
No, RK ... you know who it's for.
Your man ... Kodi.
Jet:
My wish for you is Kodi Burns as the starting QB for AU in the 2010 Iron Bowl.
Jet - those are wonderful gifts! But I would have gone with a 1/2 lump of coal equivalent for FSJ. Based on the inverse square rule (whatever that is) it would be a 4 TD margin
HOOK 'EM HORNS!!!
Actually that is my wish for us all..
I'ma sposed to get a nice camera in the morning. I'd trade it now for a Texas win in the NCG.
Ahhhh... so far I've been too busy to properly participate in Christmas, but now the work has been set aside and all preparations have been made. We've got in-laws, daughter and daughter's friends in the house.
After attending an early Christmas evening service, we've got a nice evening planned. Thanks to Mrs. Hoopie, it'll be a large stop-by type get together of neighbors, friends and families with plenty of food and drink. Families with young kids will go to bed and cover their heads early and the rest will stay longer.
THT ...So glad to hear that 2. 0 made it home. It's not always possible, but it's always better ...when the entire family is there.
Jet ...looks like Santa knew just what each Hottie needed ...give him a hug for us.
Here's wishing a merry and blessed Christmas and Chanukah for JGT and all the Hotties.
Don't go trading Christmas presents friends...
Santa is a bammer.
FSJ ... I'll let him start ... one play.
As long as I get my wish, too. Boom 55, UAT 2.
Playing switchboard operator/receptionist until 5 p.m.
Jet, i love my present. i already have one of those, though. her name is Beasley. :)
Ziemba would be a cool name for a dog. but only if he makes an All-American team next year.
merry christmas.
No...... Jet..
He plays QB the entire game...
Jet,
I love me some tapioca puddin' as long as it is sugar free. I hope Santa knows that. The home should appreciate this gift as I am always bugging them for tapioca puddin', or anything else I can just gum. It's hell without any teeth or dentures. MERRY CHRISTMAS SANTA, MERRY CHRISTMAS JET. And I still hope Abbie gets that Auburn Cheerleader uniform she wants so much. Abbie is gonna be an Aubie.
Faker,
Is Miss Abbie excited about Santa Claus coming tonight? I know the gift I am wishing so hard for her and I sure hope it comes true. God bless the children.
BTW, go 2.0, spend that money. Time for new outfits anyway THT.
The Gospel According to Saint Luke, King James version of the Bible, Chapter 2, verses 13 and 14:
"And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory be to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."
As Brother Jet says ... if it ain't King James, it ain't Bible.
Just a little reminder Jet what Christmas is really all about.
speaking of Christmas joy, I just saw a notice on MrsTHT's desk about dinner tonight at a neighbor's house, in 1 hr 20 minutes! Ugh. I've got to think quick to get out of this one.
Hanukkah Harry (along with Moishe, Herschel and Schlomo, of course)brought me gifts of cash. Santa can keep his crappy weenie whistle and ball and chain (jokes on him, I'm the ball and chain in this relationship, bwahahahahahah).
Merry Christmas to you Hot People. I hope your time with your families is fantastic and magical...and that you get lots of gifts.
Well, Jet, I am extrememly disappointed. I have been a VERY good girl this year and not even a nibble from Santa. Guess there is always next year :(
wow, I murdered the thread.
Cincy's getting condo furniture from Santa. I feel it.
yep, so we can haul it out into the street and burn it next year after we beat UGly!
GO TIGERS!!!!
(may want to get a couch you don't care about before that game next year. I suggest the Salvation Army Thrift Store...or the side of the road right after finals in the spring).
Santa's not bringing you a sofa ... WTC is.
Apparently you were so good this year, you're list was in a completely separate computer file.
Cincy gets a Relativity adjuster that will make her world go so fast that time will slow down so much she can go to the Outback Bowl and still do all those other things she has to do in early January.
just saw a report on the news that Bernard Maddoff has multiple face fractures and broken ribs from a fall... I feel like I knew about that already. Maybe I'm psychic.
psychic PF - what will be the outcome of the Outback Bowl?
Yeah IV..
She's very excited...not as excited as her dad and grandfather are to have put together her trampoline...
Thank you for the nice thoughts about Abbie. My hope too is that a cure is found for her disease..and all diseases that affect kids.
fun had by all is the best read I can get, THT.
OK, the instructions said it would take 45 minutes with 2 people to put that grill together. I did not have any help. The family said it was too cold. it took me 3 hours. it looks great though. Can't wait to fire it up.
Cincy-If you have abot $1000, I have a NICE sofa, or at least know where you can get one.
Yippee!!! Don't know how much the clothes set me back today, but at least I don't have to spring for another pillow. 2.0's suitcase has made it to Philadelphia. In theory, it should be delivered to us tomorrow afternoon.
Of course, I'm operating on the assumption that the pillow is still in the suitcase.
from no record of it's existence to found in Philadelphia. Amazing how that works.
New thread UPZ.
