Your Auburn update, 12/21
Hey everyone. Auburn's final legit home practice has ended. Some stuff was discussed. Let's talk about it.
- Reserve fullbacks John Douglas and Jason King (a walk-on) were arrested separately on suspicion of DUI recently. Douglas was arrested on Dec. 5. King was arrested last weekend.
Gene Chizik said the players have practiced "some," but said they will not be available for the Outback Bowl. Neither player has accrued meaningful statistics this season.
``Without going into detail of circumstances, they have been suspended from our football team at this point," he said. - The so-called recruiting "dead period" began Sunday morning and runs to January 1. Coaching staffs are banned from face-to-face contact and are permitted one phone call per week to prospects.
``I think we’re sitting about as good as we can be sitting with most of the guys we have left out there that we’re recruiting," Chizik said. ``It’s a period of time where they get a little reprieve and a little break from all this but we’re going to continue to recruit them hard within the rules, whatever we’re allowed to do with our one phone call a week." - Auburn coaches will take Dec. 24 and 25 off before re-convening in Tampa on the 26th. `` It’s family time and they need a break," Chizik said. ``We all need a break."

My kitchen smells so good. Homemade bread is rising, prosciutto wrapped pork tenderloin with sweet potatoes and red pears cooking, cherry pecan vanilla wafer pie setting up, mmmm! I love Christmas!
Flippity!
Wow..way too slow!
Prosciutto is the bomb diggity.
Cincy, set me a place...you've convinced me to come.
Come on, Sean, I have enough for Cox's army!
Dang conflicting edits kicked me competely off the HABOTN
Mmmm, we're having pork tenderloin, too (but not 'til Christmas Day)!
Wow...another female teacher caught with a student in Alabama.
Teacher
What are people thinking?
CT ...prosciutto wrapped prok tendeloin!!! Never had it but it's gotta be great.
That's a nice Christmas dinner you got going.
Saw that yesterday, FSJ. Not only was the kid only 15, but the teacher is married.
How's this for stimulating radio...
Finebaum has Coach Dye and John Parker Wilson on his show right now.
Wish Finebaum would let Dye just talk...
Cincy - that sounds absolutely delicious. Your family is awful spoilt.
And I love spoiling them
Why would PFD and SJPW be on FB at the same time?
FSJ ...Not sure if this happens any more than years ago. It's just reported more.
In 1972-73, we had a female teacher that had graduated from UAT 1-2 years earlier. She "tried-out" several members of our HS football team. Once word got out, the boyz were jockeying to be next. The principal found out ...it then died down and was swept away.
Good flippage there Sean.
It has always happened, it's just now the media coverage of anything like that is much greater.
Where I went to HS, there were no teachers who look like some of the female teachers who have been busted in recent years.
Too true WERK, almost no lookers when I was of age to care.
I wish CPD would tell finescum to shut it and just never call back.
we had one. She was 22, we were 16-17. We figured she was off limits because of the whole marriage thing, or there would've been a line around her house trying to hook up. How naive were we?
Isn't that why they say youth is wasted on the young?
The post office has thwarted delivery again...I guess I will have to go physically pick them up.
Well, rats.
This reminds me of the south park episode where when Stan tells the police about his little brother being intimate with a hot teacher, the police say "nice". It was bizarre, but illustrated a double standard that now seems to be turning into the norm. When teachers get involved with students, these days it seems the teacher is usually a woman.
i'm outta here.
THT...gone, but not forgotten.
well, y'all didn't exactly get carried away while I was gone, at least figuratively speaking... but perhaps literally.
Suh barely beats Toby for AP player of the year.
either the stupid heisman voters turned in the ballots early, are not a true cross section of press guys (the winners are a small group), or both. Stupid stodgy trophy.
Scott Choc-The real problem with that teacher and student thing is the kid was home schooled.
THT, maybe this guy got carried away ^
Okay, so he's over there >>>
WTC, the article I saw said the kid was in her class last year.
pre-game blogging...
BYU and Oregon State football teams have arrived at the stadium.
kickoff temperature 41 degrees and windy. Light rain showers are expected to arrive just in time for kickoff.
now that is what I call great bowl game atmosphere (sarcasm intended)
It rains in Las Vegas?
apparently special ordered for the bowl game.
It's actually raining and/or snowing over much of the desert SW at the moment.
So I guess the entire world has gone crazy with weather this week. Snow in the desert. Snow in England. What's going on?
it's all part of global warming, E-Bro
Apparently.
They don't need to turn off the lights for the intros -- half the fans will take the opportunity to excuse themselves.
