It's unfortunate Colt couldn't play the whole game, it might have been a doozie.

All things considered, UT made a show of it late.

Bring on 2010.

Kathy...yep. Nothing to fear in Tuscaloosa next November, either.

Well, actually, lots to fear in Tuscaloosa (I've lived there) but it won't be on the football field!

Oh and Steve, congrats for your team, I mean they kind of got lucky, but they made it there to the dance and that in and of itself is something to be proud of. I hope you enjoy it, it could be another 17 years...or 52 if you're an Auburn fan.

okay, how long before the first bammer slides off the icy road on the way to Dick's and Bama Fever?

Didn't Ronnie Lott play a game with a broken hand or something??? Couldn't Colt have played with a limp arm?!? Well, three things are certain after tonight:
1) Bama will claim their 13th MNC when even ABC and everyone else gives them credit for 7
2) Mark Ingraham, Sr. is still in jail and apparently Brunt Mussberger's hero
3) It's still great to be an Auburn Tiger!

Hope you all have a good night!

See that Faker...ESPN says Bama wins its 8th national title.

Not 13th.

If I see any shirts that say "Got 13?", I'm gonna rip them off and strangle somebody with it.

Or not.

Ronnie Lott wasn't risking 8 figures, IV's kid. $$$ > rings.

Colt will be successful in life regardless of what he does.

He's the real McCoy (no pun intended...ok, pun intended).

11:53 PM
Blogger E-Bro said...

Also, gonna give some props for Jordan Shipley.

Around mid-season, I said I thought he was worthy of a Heisman Trophy consideration.

He showed why tonight. With a healthy McCoy, he might have put up some crazy numbers.

Congratulations? Nah.

Bama, you suck.

Gaines,

Ronnie Lott had a choice of surgery on a finger and miss games or to amputate it and play. He now has 4 fingers on one hand.

Big news in Atlanta - the winter storm is causing closings all over the place. Slippery roads and adverse conditions are going to make for a very dangerous day on the roads with temperatures not going above freezing. Oh yeah and they played the BCS Championship last night, and someone won.

It's really fun to have as understated an event happen, especially when the team you'd rather not see get it all, in fact does. But if you weren't a fan of them, it's just a quick blurb on the TV this morning. Makes it tolerable.

7:05 AM
Blogger mytommyd said...

Even crazier about Ronnie Lott: (from David Falkner Sporting News 10/24/94)
At the end of the 1985 season in a game against the Cowboys, Ronnie Lott, then in his glory days with the 49ers, mangled his left pinky in a brutal collision with running back Timmy Newsome. Bone fragments and parts of Lott's finger lay somewhere in the turf. Lott came out of the game briefly -- a game his team won to gain a wild-card berth in the NFC playoffs.

If the kid can't make his arm move, then the kid can't make his arm move. But once again, he doesn't perform when he has to. Injury or not, he's out when the spotlight is on. Ofcourse this is my view of the last two games he's played not the other 50 that he's been in.

7:15 AM
Blogger LuvAU1968 said...

UAT fans are going to be beating their chests about this win, but it would have been a COMPLETELY different game had Colt not gotten hurt.

7:16 AM
Blogger IV said...

I didn't even watch the game, not one second. Yet when it was over, I got an e-mail instantly from a Bammer I haven't seen in over 50 years giving me hell about their big win. Two things happened,I knew who had won, as I had thought they would and my hate level rose to an all time high.

OK, guys, maybe y'all discussed this and I missed it. I was doing ok with bama until the last touchdown. There were 30 secs left in the game, up by 10. Am I the only one who thinks you just take a knee rather than scoring that last TD? I mean there is no way TX is getting the ball back. I just thought that would have been the sportsmanlike thing to do.

7:22 AM
Blogger IV said...

UAT sportsman like? Are you kidding Cincy?

One bright spot for the day - I'm going to Auburn! Maybe I will be somewhat insulated from the bama onslaught.

Me, too, IV. I am going to be at next year's bowl game if it kills me. Where is the National Championship next year?

Don't know. The funny thing about the Outback Bowl was I felt like you were there with us. We really enjoyed each other so very much.

IV,
I really hope you can make it over to Auburn for a game this fall. We would love to host you (and anyone you bring with you) at our tailgate. As of Wednesday we now have a couch!! And a rug :) Going today to hang some curtains and a few other things. Beginning to look like a real Auburn home :)

The terrible trio, me and the two sons, are going to try very hard to be there for at least one game. It takes two of them to take care of the old man.

I'll pop in every little bit and do what I can do. I am trying to finish getting all of my decorations down before we leave for Auburn. I love putting them up, but taking them down, not so much.

Good morning Hotties! Well the sun did come up this morning (kind of ), and I'm hibernating at my house until Monday. The only Bama fan I want to see today is my husband, who has gone to work, and the heater tech with the motor fan.

It's hard to congratulate those folks, but I know how happy I would be today had the shoe been on the other foot. It's just they have such arrogance.

Cincy, I did not like that last TD by AL, and of course that classless chant at the end of the game. Had Colt McCoy been in the game, it would have been a lot different.

It does take luck to win a championship. All the stars were aligned for them this year. Now let's go out and get our's! Auburn is heading in the right direction, and I'm really excited about their future!!!

ahh, good morning to all. I didnt watch the game, never do.

Congrats Bama. They had alot of talent this year and Saban can coach.

Texas-well lets be honest Gilbert hadnt played all year. I would freak out to if Barrett Trotter had to start the Iron Bowl. Yes, he came back and scored two touchdowns, but the kid freaked and turned the ball over four times. That equals a loss everyday of the week.

That was not the best defense in the country. The big 12 is sooo soft. Muschamp got punked last night and he didnt watch our game film evidently. When I saw McCoy was rattled I would have stacked the box like Bama did against them.

I am very excited for the Tigers. This time last year I was lost as in what direction. This year I am even more excited to renew my season tickets. Something to look forward to. Hell, if we finished 8-5 with that Motley Crew then who knows what will happen when we get recruits in and people healthy. Signing day and spring practice I am excited about. WDE>

Last night I watched Auburns behind the scene show for the bowl game. Tha show always puts me in a great mood. I think its a great marketing tool.

Chizik's quote with the music playing, talkn about this is a special place. then the eagle flying, its an auburn fans mantra. it lets you show many of these players in a much different light.

This show how great qb Chris Todd was with the sick children at the local hospital during the bowl week. He seemed like very much in his element.

9:04 AM
Blogger LuvAU1968 said...

PDWT, I have to disagree with you on UT's defense. UAT converted less than 5 3rd downs. Also, UAT didn't score in the second half until there was less than 3 minutes left in the game and that was only because UT's QB fumbled the ball on the 3 yard line.

9:04 AM
Blogger patdyeswildturkey said...

ok, but bama had two not one rushers go for over 100+ yards thats not a #1 defense.

Big games always have a turning point and is known by that moment.
To me this game will always be the "THE 5 AND 5" game; why you ask? Bama tried to give the game away in the first 5 Minutes and Cody got to play for 5 Plays.
Total story of the game period.

9:07 AM
Blogger patdyeswildturkey said...

Im not Hatn, but T. Cody is the most overated player of all time, almost worst that Desmond Howard. Cody is a fat ass specialist, not an every down player. He stuffs the one down out of maybe every two or three series. K I am hatn, but my opinion. :)
