Former Auburn standout makes good

Hey everyone. A wild Wild Card game between Green Bay and Arizona ended with a former Auburn star hogging the spotlight.

Linebacker Karlos Dansby, who played on the Plains from 2000-03, recovered a fumble in overtime and returned it for the winning touchdown.

  3. It's been fun. Goodnight all.

  4. DOes the defense that UNC is playing tonight on ESPN, remind anyone of the defense AU played against SoCarolina?

  5. I finally put MS Office 2008 on my Mac today. Now I can do my work on better monitors. So long crappy old laptop.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I wish Duke sucked this season.

    ReplyDelete
  7. In a game with 96 points scored, of course it's a defensive play that wins it.

  8. Mrs. Jet watching "Big Love." I'm forced to sit with her, but I will HABOTN instead.

  9. FSJ-I'm hearing Smart has taken the deal with UGA tonight. Have you heard more than just him talking to UGA?
I saw where Saban interviewed the DL coach for the Cowboys as a shot across the bow earlier today.

  10. wtc,
I wish I had your connections. I'm just glad I am connected to you.

  11. From the footballcoachscoop.com:

FootballCoachScoop has BREAKING NEWS and the FIRST TO REPORT that Alabama Defensive Coordinator Kirby Smart has been hired as the new
Defensive Coordinator by Head Coach Mark Richt.

    ReplyDelete
  12. After I heard the news earlier. I remembered tocheck on that site Jay posted a few weeks ago and there it was.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Dansby's play was amazing. WDE KD!

    ReplyDelete
  14. That is correct PF.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Jet-you must have got interested in Big Love.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Good night everybody.

    ReplyDelete
  17. No, I was just bouncing around other places ... Saban doesn't take certain ideas well, does he?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Cincy, how can I get address of the student condo?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Tubs salary 7.5 to 10 m for 5 years. Seems low to me

    ReplyDelete
  20. Tubs' status an unemployed doesn't command him the big bucks. He's a bargain hire.

    ReplyDelete
  21. wtc,

From what I hear you are correct. Rumor is that he is getting the infamous coach in waiting deal at UGA.

    ReplyDelete
  22. anyone got the tail number of the UGA planes? Supposedly just landed in Athens from Tuscaloosa, where it spent the day.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Hi Dav4AU,
Student condo is in Glenn Oaks Condominiums, 535 West Glenn Avenue. Unit 213. You can get my email address off of my profile. If you send me your email I can send you some details if you want them.

  24. Can I retract my last statement, wtc,

The Tiderinsider version of wtc just posted that according to fellow UA coaches Smart is NOT going to UGA.

I guess we will see. I did hear that Smart was pushing for a coach in waiting deal. Maybe UGA balked at that?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Rivals is apparently reporting it's a done deal...titterpeeps are saying coach in waiting was part of deal...hmmm. guess we'll find out in the morning

    ReplyDelete
  26. if only we could have a someone at PDK (or AHN) to see if he's getting off the plane right now...isn't going to affect Bama much, I fear, but will be a huge plus for UGA. Probably best for Auburn if he stays put.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I agree PF...

Won't affect UA much either way. I think everybody knows Saban runs the defense.

    ReplyDelete
  28. OK, how can he be such a help at UGA if he's &$#% on a boar hog in Tuscaloosa?

    Am I missing something?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Smart wants to run his own defense so he might take the offer

    ReplyDelete
  30. http://uga.rivals.com/barrier_noentry.asp?ReturnTo=&sid=&script=content.asp&cid=1038226&fid=&tid=&mid=&rid=

Also, David Pollock apparently Tweeting it's a done deal.

He will definitely improved Georgia's D.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Man, Smart to Georgia would be a real kick in the Sabans.

    ReplyDelete
  32. FSJ - I get to work some of your offshore type hours soon. I get to host a call for an implementation. The call starts at 11:45p eastern and is scheduled to go to 6:00a.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'm sure the walmartians and their fearless leader will spin this. Oh wait it's already started. "Won't affect UA much either way. I think everybody knows Saban runs the defense".

    ReplyDelete
  34. If Satan runs the defense, what was Smart doing?

    ReplyDelete
  35. You know a walmartian when you hear one.

    ReplyDelete
  36. We should probably blame it on the walmartians themselves. I mean if they showed more passion then Smart wouldn't want to go anywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Everyone knows Saban runs Alabamas defense...

    ReplyDelete
  38. Smart was, you know, hanging out and stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Wasn't Smart an UGA grad? Is it just a case of momma calling him home?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh wait that was already used!!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Since the walmartians were to blame for last years loss to Utah in the Sugar Bowl, do they get credit for the win in the MNC game?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Smart went to HS in Georgia and was a UGA grad, yes.

    ReplyDelete
  43. IV, that is a very good question. I am sure Saban will be just as quick to give them credit for the win.

    ReplyDelete
  44. What is Dubose doing? He was a DC. He might have his will coordinate for food sign out.

    ReplyDelete
  45. FSJ, all kidding aside. Do you watch extreme home makeover? It was a great episode tonight. I don't know much about your daughter, but I did read a few comments eariler. The girl on the show tonight has a condition that I think could be similar to your daughter's.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I could be completely wrong and missed something in previous posts.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Dubose is apparently the defensive line coach at Memphis now. Go figure.

    ReplyDelete
  48. CH=B...I didn't watch it because I was at.....wait for it.....Wal-Mart!

I'll try to see if I can find out about the episode. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  49. The walmartians will spin that Smart wasn't any good. If he was, he wouldn't want to leave Coach Saban and all of the University of Alabama tradition. You know, no one but Bama has tradition.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Bwahahaha, thanks FSJ. You made my night. You didn't happen to pick up a Nick Saban bobble head while you were there?

    ReplyDelete
  51. Two of them I'll bet.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm sure you could watch it on abc.com.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Bama will be Bama. Rather than be concerned about them, I prefer to just enjoy the precious moments, such as the Walmart photo earlier.

    ReplyDelete
  54. You know, one for the dash, one for the rear deck.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Now back to the jokes. where you really at your national headquarters? That is too funny.

    ReplyDelete
  56. sorry were not where.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Don't you mean the Mother Church?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Okay, okay, I must admit I go to Walmart sometimes too. Of course, I don't tend to think of it as a location to create a shrine to Auburn, but maybe it is just me.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I'm a K Mart kind of guy. Sometimes Target.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Steve, I was there today also. However.....well I won't say anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I wonder why the dollar general turned down the chance to have 6k+ walmartians come in at one time. That's like 6k they could have made.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Talk to you guys tomorrow from work. Take it easy on the walmartians while I'm gone.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Dollar General can't compete with the Mother Church.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I actually was at Wal-Mart.

The shame is etched on my face.

    ReplyDelete
  65. IV, actually K-Mart can be great at times. It is usually far less crowded. At times I use it during Christmas shopping season.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Hey, I got an idea. Bama has never found a logo to go on the sides of their helmets. How about that new Walmart logo? It would be sweet.

    ReplyDelete
  67. only good thing about K Mart is Craftsman Tools...still don't trust that they're not selling seconds that didn't pass QC for Sears, but there are some things that wouldn't be a big deal if that's the case that I've picked up there...

    ReplyDelete
  68. Yea, but how would the players find their helmets without the numbers on them?

    ReplyDelete
  69. IV, you do have a point.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Hi, jhag.

Still disappointed in the FSU decision, but at least you'll have years of memories from Bullwinkles. Not too shabby.

    ReplyDelete
  71. So let me get this straight. Auburn's next b-ball game (men's) is at Thompson Boling on Thursday (on ESPN no less) against Tennessee, a team that just beat #1 ranked Kansas today?

    Um...uh-oh.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Saw a "brief" rumor on the rivals main board that radio in gainesville was reporting that meyer has a 23 year old girlfriend. Anybody hear anything like that anywhere?

    ReplyDelete
  73. My 6+ hour con-call starts in 10 minutes. This is gonna be a blast.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Anonymous10:56 PM

    good one RK! ...hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  75. Good morning HABOTN!!

Nothin' like a coffee mug-sized macchiato to start the day off right. umm-mmmmm.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Nothing like being on a con-call at 1:41am.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Nice stand-in for pops.

    ReplyDelete
  78. You still there 2.0?

    ReplyDelete
  79. Yep, i'm still here IV. How's it going?

    ReplyDelete
  80. A story for THT when he gets up and feels like doing some catchin' up on HABOTN. Terry Beasley's first wife was a young lady here in Prattville. Terry lived here for a spell after his brief pro career with the SF 49ers. He had a landscaping business and did well with it until his marriage hit the rocks. I pass the house that they lived in on some of my walks. The last I heard anything about Terry, was about a year ago. He was not in good health, suffering from some kind of muscle disorder. I understand that he has problems using his arms and legs. What a tragedy for some one that was so athletic at one time. He no longer lives in Prattville and has been gone for some time now. I understood he was living up on Lake Martin somewhere. I can still see that bright red hair of his when he took off his helmet after catching a Sully pass for a TD. Great WR, great Auburn man, the Beas, #88.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Wonderful 2.0. How are you doing?

    ReplyDelete
  82. I'm peachy; heading off to class. Ciao tutti!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Yea and goodbye also.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Back to bed y'all. Later.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I feel destroyed by bitter reality some days. Usually when I'm walking out the door before 5:30. At least there's no conference call.

    ReplyDelete
  86. There is a conference call and I'm still on it.

    ReplyDelete
  87. no, I mean for me. You situation sucking worse than mine is helping me drive to work today.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Happy to be here for you then.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Man I feel sorry for both of ya'll.

    Wanna trade places?

    ReplyDelete
  90. That's kind of you but I think my phone time is about to come to an end. Then hopefully it's naptime.

    ReplyDelete
  91. That's it for me. I'm gonna try to get a nap in for a few hours. Hopefully, F4* will be somewhat cooperative.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Great work, 2.0!

JayGT - re: 8:05 pm. Why limit your wish to just this season?

    ReplyDelete
  93. it is cold here. ice covering the water in the everglades as the sun comes up.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I have a lot of conference calls, but never at 1:41 am.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Norm, I must admit that a 1AM conference call is impressive to me as well.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Good morning, Hotties! What a great heads up play by Dansby last evening!

I'm sure this has already been discussed, but did anyone read where Tubs said he loved recruiting? If so, what did you think about that?

    ReplyDelete
  97. I overnight feels like was 14 here... that is not why I live in FL.

I had a race yesterday, which means I spent the entire day outside and a couple hours getting wet and therefore freezing... not happiness.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Could someone post a link to the article in the AJC that you guys were talking about yesterday...

    ReplyDelete
  99. Anonymous7:42 AM

Luv ...Tubs, by his own admission, is a salesman. Whether true or not, he has to say that he likes it. He probably does like recruiting, just in the old school manner. Mark Richt and Tubs have recruited in the same style for years. Even though his old style will work well in west Texas, I'm betting that Tubs chsnges his style.

I responded to you question b/c I didn't want you to feel ignored, but he's totally gone now and I'm gonna try even harder to not discuss him.

    ReplyDelete
  100. mornin' den of all that is HOTTT.

    have a good day.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Glad that Karlos made a great play, but really wanted Green Bay to win. Green Bay is one of my favorite teams if I really had one in the NFL. All the teams I wanted to win loss except for the Jets. I really wanted to see a Jets / Indy matchup this week in which the Jets would knock them off. That would be sweet irony for Indy throwing the perfect season and keeping the Jets alive. Of course, it could still happen, but the Chargers will be tough to beat this week for the Jets. Damn you Tom Brady for sucking.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Anonymous8:02 AM

    Wild game.

Rodgers got mugged on that play.

    ReplyDelete
  103. i would love to see my boy Marcus McNeill & San Diego take on Dansby and the Cards in the Super Bowl. if Arizona doesn't get there then i hope it's Ratliff & the Cowboys.

    ReplyDelete
  104. I hate the Patriots and the Ravens, so I was glad one of them had to lose. Hopefully the other will lose this weekend as well as the Cowboys.

If the Steelers or Titans can't win it, then the teams I hate shouldn't be able to either.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Hoopie, thanks for responding. I don't care to talk about anymore either, I just wondered what the Hotties thought about that since he didn't seem too interested in recruiting while he was at Auburn. OK. I'm done talking about him.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Luv,

I agree with Hoopie, Tubs openly admits to being a car salesman, so he's going to say whatever he needs to get what he wants.

I don't think Tubs hates recruiting, he just does it in a way that time might have passed by.

Also, I don't see why we can't discuss coaches past and present when the topic comes up. (Go ahead throw the penalty flag my way.)
