R.I.P. Larry Bailey aka AUFan365
Hey everyone. I'm sorry to report that one of the HABOTN's most ardent supporters has died.
Larry Bailey, whom many of you all knew as AUFan365, died Sunday after suffering an aneurysm. He was 62. You can read the obit here.
I think he attended every chat we held. Larry told me that he didn't say much during the chats because he had difficulty typing, but he was watching. I met him face-to-face at the Outback Bowl. He sat in the HABOTN section with a bunch of you all.
He's currently listed as a "notable newcomer," though he really wasn't a newcomer. He just didn't participate a whole lot for the reasons I described and I didn't promote him. I should have.
UPDATE: AUFan365 has been added to the Ring of Fire in a new subsection, one we hoped never would be created, called "Where Eagles Soar." He will be remembered here every day.
Rest in peace ...

Prayers for 365's family.
How sad. I never got a chance to meet him, but did enjoy his participation. A special Hottie and definitely deserving ROF status.
RIP Larry... War Eagle and God Bless!
I am so thankful to have been blessed with the chance to meet him. My prayers for his family.
condolences to his family...
I never got to meet him, but enjoyed him on the blog. Life is very fragile. We will be praying for his family. I feel like we are so insulated on this blog - like the real world can't happen to us.
My mom just called and my youngest sister, 46, is in the ER with stroke symptoms. She and her high school senior son were cleaning house when she complained of her eyes feeling tike they were "jerking". He asked her to smile and noticed one side of her face was drooping. He called 911 and they immediately took her to the hospital. The symptoms have subsided, her CT scan was normal and they will get MRI results in the am. Very scary as it happened so quickly.
Terrible. Death sucks.
Oh no! This is sad news indeed! Jay alot of fraternities have an "Omega Chapter" for members that pass on. Maybe you could have a special category in this situation.
Cincy I will be praying for your family as well. You have a very bright nephew! He should get alot of praise for being so alert.
Cincy ... you have joined the prayer list.
I got to know Mr. Larry from HABOTN. A few months later I realized he was one of our regular golfers at my Golf Course. AUfan365 was a joy to be around, and I feel lucky to have known him.
I have no doubt when St. Peter greeted Mr. Larry his first reply was "War Eagle"
This Conecuh Dog is for you Mr. Larry and War Eagle
RIP Mr. Bailey and condolences to his family. So sad.
Cincy...thoughts and prayers for your family.
Absolutely. 365 deserves any recognition you think he should have. I also met him at the outback bowl and had a nice chat with him. I know that he loved Auburn. Rest in peace my new found Auburn friend. I hate to lose you. You made an impression on this Auburn fan.
There is an online guestbook for those who are unable to attend the service for Larry.
If so inclined, you can find it here.
God bless his family. I too am glad to have met him at the Outback Bowl. I did not get a chance to talk with him that much he was sitting on the other side of IV and pretty far from me. What little we talked was very pleasant and we will miss him.
Jay, please at least let 365 have my "feeling the heat" spot. He deserves it much more than I.
Cincy, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your little sister.
THT thanks for the guestbook link I left a message for the family.
Cincy, prayers sent for your family. So glad your nephew got her to the hospital so quickly.
Life is indeed short and very precious. We should live each day as if it is our last.
Thanks, THT, for the link.
A sad day indeed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Larry's family.
Terrible. RIP sir
Well, this has been a very rough week.
My daughter went to school last Friday only to find out one of her school friends had shot and killed his dad during an argument the night before (this was a well-liked, highly-regarded kid in an AP magnet school, living in a very nice neighborhood).
Later that day the man who sat next to me in the church choir suffered renal failure while in the hospital for kidney stones. By the next morning he had died.
Now Larry, a long-time HOTTIE, has left us. Damn.
War Eagle and Godspeed, 365. You will be missed.
I haven't been around long and I have never met any of you, but I feel as though I know you all. I consider you all friends that I have never met. So it is sad to lose a friend, AUFan365. My prayers are with your family.
My prayers are with you and your family as well Cincy.
G, I think you should start a whole new section. Maybe call it HOTTIES365.
Hey 365, I hope that Shug kept a spot waiting for you in Heaven with all of our fallen Auburn family and friends.
Prayers for the family indeed.
CH=B - I've been mulling it over and here you come darting in with the great idea I couldn't think up. Well done, sir.
JGT - I second that emotion.
I only post on here sporadicly, but I love this blog like no other; and I feel like I know everyone on here in one way or another...Even though I haven't met a single person that posts here. Larry's family will be in my prayers in the days to come. Rest in peace my friend.
"The day which we fear is out last is but the birthday of eternity"
Wow.......guess I should have met him at the Outback Bowl. A true Auburn man. RIP and War Eagle.
i was stunned when i got the tweet.
RIP Mr. Bailey.
Prayers for 365's family and Cincy's sister.
Larry was my dad. He taught me to be an Auburn fan...a REAL ONE. My sister and I went on to graduate from Auburn and marry Auburn alums. Our families used Auburn football as a gathering as much as the traditionals of Easter, Thanksgiving, and so forth. He was a wonderful man. He loved this blog and gave me a HABOTN cap. I know you knew him for his football love and so forth, but please know that he was a great dad, granddad, husband, and best friend. I am struggling right now accepting that he is gone, but know that this blog missing him would have made him as happy as anything. We will all try to go on, and if you think of a way to remember him, please send me a message so I can have a part in it. He truly loved Auburn, family, friends, and good times. I think that is why Auburn fit so well, it encompassed all of those things. Your prayers are appreciated and mean more than you can know. Thank you all, and WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!

Peace to Larry and his family.
A special place indeed is deserved.
Kelly ...
Thank you for checking in with us. We can't hurt the way you and your family are hurting, or grieve the way you and your family are grieving. All we do is is pray for you and offer our best wishes.
I'd venture to say it's not surprising to any of us that AUFan365 has a strong young lady for a daughter. Not surprisingly at all.
God bless you and your family. War Eagle.
Kelly, the thoughts and prayers from the Harrell Family are with you. I know IV will second that.
I got meet your dad at the Outback Bowl this year. He was very nice and kind spoken. I maybe shared a few comments back and forth with him, but he struck me as a true Auburn Man and someone to be proud to know. May your family find peace and comfort during this time. And to you, your family, and to AU365, a very heartfelt and somber War Eagle.
RIP Larry. I wish I had gotten the chance to know you better. Prayers for your family.
Kelly, your family is in my prayers. I lost my father last year. March 21st will be the anniversary of his passing. I know it is hard to deal with. I find comfort in reminding myself what he would want me to do. I want to make him proud and see his wishes are carried out. I am also the Executor of his will, so I am able to see through.
Thank you for giving us a more personal description of Larry. We appreciated him. It doesn't take a lot of posts for that to happen.
I have been trying to think of how we should honor Larry on the front page. Maybe above the Ring of Honor should be another category. I am not sure what to call it. Auburn men? Hall of Fame? I do believe Larry belongs there.
I just thought of something that might be a bit more special, but possibly too ambitious. AuFan365 is a great nick and after thinking about it, it would be a great motto for the football team. You play football part of the year, but you are an Auburn Man 365 days a year. It might be something to pass along to the coaches. If it caught on, I can think of no better legacy for AuFan365 to leave to Auburn.
God bless you and your family, Kelly. He certainly blessed us with Larry's friendship. Thank you for sharing those comments. I'm sure your dad is now talking Auburn football with my dad.
Good morning, Hotties.
Kelly, I never met your dad, but as Hotties, we all share a special bond. As Auburn fans, we share an even deeper bond. My sincere, heartfelt prayers go out to you and your family during this extremely difficult time.
Cincy, I hope your sister is doing ok today. We will thinking about her today as well, so please let us know when you find out something.
I'm truly at a loss for words today. I'm very sad to hear about Larry. Prayers and thoughts to Kelly and all of Larry's family. Times like these makes me really proud to be involved with HABOTN. This is a family of its own and it will deeply miss one of it's members. War Eagle AUFan365, you will be missed!!!!!!!
Cincy- Thoughts and prayers sent for your sister.
Good morning. War Eagle 365, Kelly and all.
jhag, I checked out that site last night (I think miller had posted it on another thread) and it was great. That's one of the best sites around. If it was set up by the coaches for recruiting then its even a better idea. I actually like the rap song for Tiger Walk.
I haven't been on for a while and I checked in this morning. What sad news. I am glad it is going to be a beautiful day today!
WDE AUFan365! You will be missed.
It shouldn't take a tragedy to remind us not to take friends and family for granted, but too often that is the case.
My sincere prayers go out to friends and family of Mr. Bailey.
Anybody know where I can download the Tiger Walk rap by TWill?
RIP 365.
Losing your parents is awful. Losing one unexpectedly as this appears to be is worse. It was in my case at least. God bless Kelly and all the other Bailey family members.
Here it is on ITunes DMiller.
Wow, I hate to log onto here this morning and read this. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
Kelly,
Thank you so much for sharing a little more about your dad. Even though I have only met a few of the people here, I feel like I know them all. I have really grown to care about them and what is going on with them, their parents and their children.
Our family is much like yours. We are on our third generation of Auburn Tigers and love the Auburn Tradition. I will be praying for you and your family as you walk through these next days and weeks. Your dad sounds like a wonderful man.
I am Larry's other daughter. Thank you so much for all of your posts and kind words about my father. You will never know how much it means. He loved Auburn so very much and he talked about HABOTN all the time. Many times, I talk about how Auburn really is a family and this just goes to show that I am not just saying it, that it is true. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Thanks for the prayers and thoughts for my sister. I talked to Mom late last night and her symptoms had all abated except the dull headache. Her CT scan was normal and they will get MRI results this morning.
War Eagle, 365! You will be missed. Blessings on Kelly and the family.
Cincy, how is your sister?
Cincy,
I posted before I saw the update. I hope the other tests are ok.
Katie,
We loved your dad, too, even though many of us just knew him through the blog. How awesome for you to be able to call him your dad. Thanks for sharing a little more of him with us. You're right - we are a family. Our family will be praying for yours.
Katie,
"Those who mourn will be comforted."
You are in the prayers of many.
Deepest sympathies for Larry's family. I'm glad to all the posts in this thread. It's what makes this blog the HABOTN.
I was busy getting all set up for St Patty's day, and find out we've lost one of our own. I got to sit behind Larry at the Outback, and had an absolute blast with him and IV, and all the other Hotties there. He will certainly be missed. Very much.
By the way, I now declare that no one else is allowed to get sick or hurt or other for a long time.
The end.
Love, Tom.
I like you're thinking Tom, unfortunately I am under the weather a bit today. It sucks really. I hate the nagging bugs that just make you feel like rubbish but you aren't sick enough to miss work. That's my story today.
Katie and Kelly,
Your words about you father have really touched me this morning. Those memories are what makes it hard because they magnify the loss, but they are also what helps because he left part of himself here with you. us. and everyone he touched. I hope you are able to find some comfort knowing the spirit of the life he led will continue to touch others for generations in the values and love he gave.
Katie and PF - y'all made me cry. Like a baby. At work. Thankfully, my work place today is a closet, literally, and no one has seen me. Thank y'all for sharing.
As I'm sitting at work this morning reading about the loss of Larry, I find myself feeling a loss for someone I've only met through a blog.
As I read Kelly and Katie's posts about their Dad, I find tears rolling down my cheeks as others in the office wonder what's going on.
Anyone outside the Auburn Family can never truly understand.
My prayer are with the Bailey family.
Rest in peace AuburnFan365.
Enjoy the view from your sky box.
War Eagle!
RIP and War Eagle Larry.
What a sad day. Larry was one of the first Auburn fans to send me a friend request when I joined the HABOTN facebook group.
AUFan365 - I know you were a friend to all, even some bammers, so I hope you'll forgive me if I don't allow (and pardon the oxymoron) a good bammer to have the last post on your thread.
God Speed, and War Eagle Larry!
Kelly -
The Loganville clan has your family in our thoughts and prayers. My deepest regret is I did not have a chance to meet the man & father.
