AU Baseball II
Aight ingrates, here's another round of quotes from members of the AU baseball program.
If I have time, I'll get some stuff up from J-State later. There will also be a Pulitzer-worthy preview, along with info boxes on all four teams at the AU Regional, in tomorrow's edition of the Montgomery Advertiser.
Until then, enjoy away ...
1B Hunter Morris
On how he approaches hitting at Plainsman Park since it seems to favor a lefty …
We never change our approach no matter the park. The mindset is always the same. We go up trying to hit the ball hard in the gaps. You don’t go up trying to hit homeruns.
On how much the size of Regions Park affected the Tigers’ offense last week …
You can never use the park as an excuse because the other team is playing in the same park. Everything’s equal. We just didn’t do a good enough job.
P Austin Hubbard
On the improved pitching late in the season …
I think the biggest thing is that we’ve been more aggressive and gone right at hitters. Our walks are down and we’re more aggressive.
Head coach John Pawlowski
On the improved pitching …
A lot of times (games get out of hand) because the pitcher isn’t throwing strikes. That’s the biggest key – to throw strikes. Our staff has done a great job with that. That’s been our No. 1 focus, to compete and throw strikes.
On Auburn’s overall experience but lack of postseason experience …
I think our experience has helped us throughout the season. It has propelled us the second half of the season. We haven’t been in an SEC Tournament or an NCAA regional, but our guys understand that the game is going to be the same.

loosely defined substance
I'm seeing a ton of coverage on the (Clemson coach) Leggett influence on Pawlowski (and all other good coaches in college baseball).
SteveFC, are you seeing the same thing?
Once agin I post and a new thread popz upz. it feels like JGT waits for me to do it sometimes.
well, you might have posted it on the old thread, but you're right on about that van der sloot dude.
Joran has been caught. Maybe they can get a conviction this time.
Unfortunately, I don't think Peru has the death penalty. Maybe they'll just drop him off somewhere in a Peruvian desert and let some long-lost Inca tribe draw and quarter him (or worse).
I was hanging out on the old thread. I guess I've been Mooned.
I don't think he'd fare too well if they dropped him off in B'ham (van der Sloot, that is. Moon would probably do just fine).
Thanks for the substance, Josh.
Here is an odd quote.
"Officials believe Flores was killed exactly five years after Holloway's May 30, 2005, disappearance."
BP has cut off that riser pipe using sheers. Hopefully they will be able to slow the flow of oil. I am also seeing where oil has been seen in the Florida keys, which is surprising. I didn't realize it had traveled that far.
it will be on the Outer Banks eventually.
Holy New Thread Batman!!
I've read the baseball quotes. Time to get back to FOOTBALL.

Thanks, Josh, for pitch hitting for Homer.
We got Mooned! Thanks for the beisbol substance Bags.
Hate to be picky, but one more thing ..if you will just jump back over to the old thread and let us know....
Scott, you are correct. Drop Moon off in Bammerham and he will fit in just fine.
Bag's threadside manner leaves a bit to be desired. You gotta let us know when you post something new...
'Preciate you pinch hitting on the beisbol substance... But, give a brotha some threadz up headz up.
I think the Peruvians should take van der Sloot out into the middle ofthe city square, scalp him, publicly castrate him by hanging him upside down by his blueberries and leave him strung up until the blood rushes to his head and he bleeds out his ears.
Sorry... Kinda graphic and cruel. But, he deserves it.
Man, we're a picky bunch.
He's Dutch, so why not just use him as a human canal plug?
So, why exactly does bamer care when other teams play their games? That's like my sister caring about how I spend my money. All these games are done via contract, so if it's so efing important, have them specify that "thou shalt not have an open date before me" clause. See how ridiculous the statement is?
Blueberries?
I can see why Bama is complaining about so many teams have open dates before they play them. They risk playing teams that are healthier and more rested. It ain't fair, but life ain't fair.
E-Bro...JayG has made us picky. Actually Moon had nice substance in the MA today and I actually read it. Maybe he is better at writing non-opinionated substance. But that's just the ingrate in me talking...
Noticed that Jay has not tried to smooth over for Moon just let him hang.
2.0 - OWA Ortelius didn't sell.
That's how it's done, Moon!!
...
Just kidding.
