I totally agree unless Hell freezes over or we get up by a convinceing score on a team, Kodi will not play this or next year... i just think you have to just try something different sometimes, not that we are tryingto break Chris Todd's rhythm or anything. Why let the kid sit there on the bench when you need playmakers in the game to make plays.

I'd like to take a minute to give some appreciation to Otis for his admittance of what he does wrong. Did Borges ever do that? No. How often does Tubs do it???
You don't want the OC to apologize? That's fine. But when cries cry and moan about what they would have done differently, and most of the time is quite obvious they're right, it takes guts for a coach to admit his failure and devote himself to fixing the problem in the public forum.
I'm here to say my stance on Otis is changing. I think he's going to do exactly what he said he's going to do at Auburn. And it's going to be perfect at some point.

Mr. Powers said everybody was fine, except he didn't seem fine. He looked visibly bothered. I guess that's what CPR was talking about.
Constantly apologizing might take guts, it also might mean you are a very self-aware loser. Just sayin'. I actually agree with you for the most part, but it is frustrating to watch.
Self aware loser? Pretty harsh, huh? 4 games into the season? His first season. He's learning how to do with expectations in the big leagues now.
He said he should have thrown more. He should have. Big like everybody else in here he's got a QB problem and he has to see how they deliver under fire in a big game. Receivers were open the other night. Bottom line. He saw that he shouldn't have gone back to the read option after a big pass play. Keep throwing until they stop you.
In watching the replay, it makes me lose my appetite to see Lee throw that desperation pass over his left shoulder, a hook shot for the most part, and Thorpe stumbling to gain his feet after being right where he needed to be. Powers would have knocked that one down.

Crudup ... I am not saying that he is. I was saying, that is sometimes another reason people are good at apologizing. They've had a lot of practice. Kinda like Otis.
Then again, on the other hand, it is true that it does take guts to stand there and call yourself out. It becomes effective when people notice a change.
I'll say this, he looks as frustrated as everyone else.
Four games into the season? Yes, but there's only 8 more.

Admitting faults and working to correct them obviously is a very useful (and rare) trait in our society.
Serially admitting faults shows weakness. If you're making all these mistakes day after day after day, why should people expect anything different tomorrow?
I'm of the opinion that Franklin's offense is going to be at least SEC average by season's end. They made progress against LSU.
As I see it, the game was winnable, but we failed on both defense (stopping the final drive) and offense (not putting the game away early and not making the final drive conversion). However, it wasn't a blowout and we went toe to toe with the National Champion until the final minute of the game.
No the best result, I'll admit, but not bad either. We're still in contention for the championship. LSU has Alabama and Florida. Alabama has Georgia next week and us at the end of the season. Barring any gross mistakes against UT, Vandy and a now-punchless WVU, our schedule is still favorable until the 'Amen Corner' against UGA and UA. We need to watch out against the likes of Ole Miss and Arkansas, but I still think that Auburn will be 9-1 meeting UGA, and the Iron Bowl might just feature two 10-1 teams.

We will not ever be above average on offense until we find a QB that make big plays either on the ground or through the air. The LSU backup QB made 2 throws on the TD's that nobody we have can make.
Take a look at the Top 10 this week, and every team 1-7 has an excellent QB (and I would include LSU's Lee after what he did Sat. night). Those teams will be in it until the end because they have someone under center that can win games for them.
Bottom line: we don't.
What is SEC average? This is a real question and not a smart a*# rhetorical one.
Did it not surprise anyone that AU played not to lose (INSTEAD OF TO WIN)when up by 1 with 5 minutes to go in the game.
Avg offense at best. Tight end not a threat - usually can't throw floaters to the TE. No run game since Todd is slower than Phil Mikelson.
Also, I thought Rhoades wasn't going to take chances. Well then why on LSU'S first scoring drive (two long passes) did he blitz both times? Make them go the lenght of the field and they have trouble on that drive.

did it suprise me that when it came crunch time and we desperately needed a couple first downs to seal the game that we became conservative?????

are you saying you were suprised? really? not sure if tubs had any input on that series or not but the CTT teams of the past few years have done just that. conservative.
What I was saying is same old, same old. Tubs might be a gambler at times but he always plays not to lose.
When Lee comes back in the game in the third qtr, why blitz twice and give up the big plays? I don't think he could have taken them the length of the field at that time.
Anyone concerned that we are talking about opening up the passing game more this week vs UT, when UT has one of the best secondaries in the country?

i was thinking about the 'riverboat gambler' part earlier. my guess is he did all that stuff when he knew he had to like when he was at ole miss and his early years at AU he didn't have the talent he does now. my assumption is that he feels the players he has now can overcome whatever.
obviously les miles feels the opposite. despite the criticism he has received he continues to put his nuts on the line and make the tough calls.....and he does have the players to execute. just gotta tip your cap to him. of course he didn't know his freshman qb was going to play like troy aikman in the 2nd half either.
Auburn helped facilitate Lee's play. They blitzed twice which resulted in wide open plays that were completed, which gave Lee the confidence he needed.
agreed. i'm sure it helped him knowing he was the man the rest of the game when hatch got jacked up.
After about 3 years of complaining that we never blitz, now everyone is complaining that we are blitzing.
It's funny how these things work out.
Had Thorpe been in the right spot, then the blitz was a good idea, because he would have either got the ball or at least knocked it down.
SEC announced today that the Auburn/Vandy game is a 7 PM eastern ESPN kickoff.
