Campfire wrap-up
Thanks again for a fun evening here at the HABOTN.
We went almost two hours tonight, which was long enough to handle business.
See you on Tuesday.

WTF. why wasn't I informed of this.
how can I not even be a newcomer. I mean come on. I was sadden about not getting warm. But not even a newcomer.
this is wrist slitting time.
oops saddened.
I will be honest. I knew about the fire and couldn't even stay up til 9:30. Yes I went to bed..and I was fired up to until I got sleepy!! I am surprised about the reaction I heard on the radio. Enlighten me please Jay..based on the fire what is the gerally feeling from the AU family after CTT comments?
i never was able to log on last nite but i did get to peek in on the campfire a wee bit. my wireless connection was all jacked up and i kept getting kicked off when i tried to put my name in so i gave up.
from what i was able to read it was an enjoyable evening. sorry i missed all the fun. so sad.
wartiger, wait till you hit 30...then your body shuts down every night at 9:30. ha.
if it makes you feel any better my wife falls asleep on the couch about that time every nite.
I'm with you wartiger...I was crash-city at about 9 last night. Scottie B -- ur my smoothie king
I enjoyed the campfire last night, but I am paying dearly for it today with the 5 hours of sleep I got. But its always worth it.
I hated leaving the campfire early as everyone was having fun, but it was after 11:00 here and it sucks waking up at 5:45 to go to work.
I'm 32, and it is amazing the little signs your body gives you that you didn't have to deal with even 3 or 4 years earlier. I don't feel I'm old by any means, but suddenly staying up late or really long car trips aren't as fun as they were not that long ago.
I couldn't imagine making the drive from Chattanooga to Auburn or wherever we were playing every weekend in the fall like I did just 3 years ago.
I wish I slept 5 hours.
Avg. 4.5 a night for me.
Campfire was a blast, btw.
Enjoyed the camp fire...good times. Don't worry Mark, I can't get my name on the front page either.
hornet, do i know you? no way you called me 'smoothie king' by accident. mysterious.
yes scott...you definitely know me -- check the profile
I hear you Wareaglerk. I'm 31 and fill the punishment of staying up late, especially being in EST. I need lots of caffine for my 1 hour commute at 6AM in the morning.
Too hot in tha campfire! Gonna make-a me sweat-a!
Peter, homes, I provided a three-hour notice.
I guess I should have Twittered it? I keep forgetting to do that.
How does Twitter work? Someone help me out here.
jay, what's your eta in wva?
Twitter is voodoo. It beams electrons into your phone and your head. Avoid it at all costs, otherwise lose your soul.
Dang,
I missed another CF.... im gonna get detention soon or expelled from the HOTTIE ZONE if i miss another.....
Good Time on the Campfire was had by all
hornet....you're a no good worthless punk, but i love ya. i didn't realize that was you. shouldn't you be in school now?
eddie, Twitter is the bomb yo. just go to the site, sign up with your cell phone number, and when the magic happens JG sends you the hottest, fastest AU info in the universe straight to your portable cellular device. it's brilliant. it's how the HOTTIES roll.
AUN, you and me both. i felt so helpless last nite as i watched the campfire roll along and had no way to join in. very sad.
on another note, my wife poked her nose over the laptop sunday night and saw my name in the ROF. she asked if she should be worried about me. after i explained what it was she told me that i had better keep up the HOTTNESS or i'd be in trouble with her. this from the same woman who last month thought i was the biggest idiot for blogging during games. now, she's all proud of me. :)
It's nice to know that wives can change. I still know my wife thinks I am a mega-nerd for doing the whole blog thing.
"idiot", that's my wife's term of endearment for me too.
I'll take credit for that, Scottie.
She saw I was a "normal" dude, not the Unibomber, and now it's all good on your end.
much appreciated JG. it was all you. i think the mutual appreciation for Weezer helped a good bit.
re: eta in wva
I'm due into PIT mid-afternoon tomorrow. The airport is about 100 miles from Morgantown.
Here's where it gets dicey: Game at 7:30 (EDT), I leave press box at 1 a.m., back to PIT hotel at 2:30 a.m., flight out at 8 a.m.
Ugh.
Sleeping in the airport?
After sleeping on it, here is what I heard yesterday ...
"My name ain't Tommy Bowden, it's Tommy Tuberville motha... If you are coming after me, you better come strong or don't come at all!"
My wife doesn't understand/care about the blogging, but doesn't give me any grief for doing it either, so that's always a good thing.
I think she looks at it like if I complain about Auburn's offense on here to random people, it's better than complaining to her about it.
She's a UT graduate and a Louisville fan, so it's not like the three teams in our household are doing very well this year anyway.
scottie - I'm stamping out ignorance between posts...shouldn't you be making sales?
Back in the old days, I'd have just stayed up until I returned home.
Now? I gotta sleep -- even if it's three or four hours.
Scottie,
Is the smoothie king anything like the "sausage king of Chicago"?
funny stuff RK. i can't complain. the wife is extremely supportive of me being an idiot over the Tigers although she doesn't always participate. she lets me be. not every woman would allow me to have an AU room like i have. i'm a lucky guy.
and Mr. Hornet, maybe i should be making sales, but the HABOTN has a strange effect on me. i feel much smarter but much less productive at work every single day. crazy, huh? u going to Morgantown?
I agree PPhred,
CTT, is like the Junk Yard Dog in a Steel Cage Match backed into a corner byt three bad a$$ wrestlers... Come get it baby.... it's hot and ready!!!!!
Mr. S,
not even remotely cool as the 'sausage king'. it's an old nickname from high school. only the oldest and dearest Scottie B. fans out there would know that. not that i have fans or anything...maybe haters...dunno.
when it was originally a saturday game I was going...but can't do a thursday. We have a scrimmage at Hoover Thursday night so I'll be lovin some Tivo...don't call or text me during the game with joy or loathing!
cool. ok, not text's or anything. i talked to P-Diddy Butler a few minutes ago. he said he may hit u up at the game friday nite. he'll be in the area.
Jay -
Where's your hotel in Pit? I only ask because I am staying there Wednesday and Thursday as well in downtown, and cold ones should be in order. I will be breaking my yankee girlfriend into the Southern Football experience Thursday night. God help her.
I've got a hotel room at the Hampton Inn in downtown Morgantown for Thursday night that I'll be cancelling today. It's a free Reward Stay under my Hilton HHonors account. So if you've got an HHonors account and you want to pick up a free stay in-town after the game, you might check periodically over the next 24 hours to see if my room becomes available.
Scottie,
I can't complain either. She's always been supportive of how much time I spend discussing football. The only tension we've had around football was when UT started to close the gap in the 2004 SEC championship game and she started getting excited and I started getting nervous.
This years game, we both were just amazed at how bad both teams were.
Man, People are acting like their wives will read this and they will score bonus points for good behavior. :)
My wife can't read, so I am not worried about that at all.
Brad, I'm staying out by the airport. I figure it's best to stay close to my 8 a.m. flight out.
Surely PIT traffic is going to be messy on Friday.
Speaking as a wife I think it's so cool to see guys who have the guts to talk nice about their wives! ha ha
nah Eddie. just giving credit where it's due. i've got some friends whose wives have really killed their Auburn-ness since they've tied the knot. either my wife is cooler than theirs or they're just pansies. probably both.
Monica, i see you're an artist. what are you into? i do a little watercolor/acrylic during the non-football season.
Scottie - very cool! You'll have to share some of your work with us. I do watercolor, oil, acrylic and pen & ink. My website should be finished in a couple of weeks so you can critique me. And by critique I mean tell me how wonderful I am no matter what you really think.
Scottie: Shhhhhhh.
Keep that to yourself.
Since we are into giving credit where credit is due. My wife has always let me continue my obsession for Auburn. Of course it helps that she went to Auburn also. I have only missed a handful of games up till this year since 1995 and that include road games. But with 2 kids, being a Dad comes first. But even with that said, I have still been able to go to 5 games this year. Just no road games this year. She even lets me go and stays with the kids.
dude, it's like the one thing i'm good at. i don't paint trees and birds or anything. it's all sports-related. i've sold a few. eaze up off a brotha. do we need to talk Celine Dione? :)
uh-oh, i feel the BANHAMMER a'callin'.
You're so bad, Jay. Scottie is secure in his masculinity.
I've got my Auburn gear on for my trip to Kroger. I'm going to try to start a throw down in the produce section with some WVU chicks.
(btw, I'm pretending I didn't see a Celine reference on this blog)
Later.
Monica,
I'd love to see the site when it's up and running. Throw some bows for the HABOTN, will ya?
yea, Scottie is secure. It was his idea to make a shirt that said "I'm a hottie." You would have to be secure to wear that.
Nice quote phred. I posted yesterday that I maybe falling into the CTT trap that he is so good at laying for us fans. You know the one were we all feel better about him and then BAM we lose to UT Martin and things spiral out of control. That being said I am glad to see that a majority of the HOTTIES are willing to take the same chance. I liked what CTT did. Made me feel fuzzy but he did either make himself look good or he bold faced lied to everyone of us. Surprised he didnt say "they are going to have to carry me out in a pine box" or something along those lines.
Really. My wife came from an Alerbamer family but as most women, didn't pull either way.
She's a UAB grad and used to listen to me smack the Turd around and say something but like this streak, she came around.
My 4 yr old has grandparents on both sides but my wife's parents aren't ones to push it. They know I'll raise hell if my kid comes home and says something Pro-Bammer.
C in the I
Brad, burning couches is not the southern football experience. I'm skeptical of this lady already. Yankees with no knowledge of the SEC way can't be trusted.
Jay, sorry for the outburst. I doubt I would've made it anyway.
I'm not going to bother.
