Radio appearance (now concluded)
I'm scheduled to appear live on radio in Jackson, Miss., this morning. It's at 8:25ish.
The station has a remarkably straightforward method for streaming, so you can listen that way. Their stream works well for me via iTunes.
The segment is called "Hatin' with Jay G.," so I'm not sure how much Auburn material will be discussed. If you're parched, you know, The Campfire is this afternoon.

what time?
Geez. Thanks. 8:25 in the a.m.
I'll add that to the main post. Duh.
what are you hatin?
Philip Fulmer was on the Dan Lebetard Show down here a couple of weeks ago. DL just kept asking him questions about Nick Saban, trying to get a decent sound bite out of him. Finally, Fulmer asked "So, you wanna talk some UT football?" Lebetard replied "not really," and hung up on him. It was pretty funny hatin' on Saban radio.
Hung up on Fulmer?
that's unbelievable.
I worked for a talk radio station in Chattanooga for 3 years.
We were doing a National Signing Day show and had to ask Bobby Bowden to call back (he was on hold at the time), because one of the co-hosts had set up an interview with the recruiting guy from Alliance sports before they became rivals.
Needless to say, Bowden didn't call back.
Jay,
I see where you are a Weezer fan.
I'm going to see them on Oct. 25th in Atlanta. My wife is a huge fan, I'm just going along.
You ever seen them live? Do they do a pretty good show?
Jay,
Great stuff.
You got link to the Cecil piece?
Ever hear Finebaum blast some Auburn beat writer for cheerleading or for being a Tuberville lackey and then introduce Cecil Hurt for his nearly daily unbiased assessment of the Tide? It cracks me up.
love how dude just called you gay on live radio. can't beat that. and a Young Jeezy reference? wow.
Haven't seen Weezer since the summer of 2000 in Chicago ... back when "Dope Nose" was the hot new song.
I was thisclose to seeing them in 05 in Atlanta, but the show sold out so quickly that I couldn't make it happen.
Cecil Hurt's column (post UGA win)
My wife listens to what I'd call "Standard White Girl" music and I've been hanging out with her for years. It's the soundtrack of my life.
With that said, I prefer Eric B. & Rakim, NWA, Scarface, etc.
Since Auburn is off that weekend, we're spending the weekend in Atlanta and watching Weezer on Saturday and Joe Satriani on Sunday.
I've never been a big Weezer fan, but I'm guessing they put on a fun show.
Which weekend is that?
If Auburn is off, that means I'm off.
Oct 25th...it's the Saturday following the Thursday West Virginia game.
Oh damn. I need to peep me some tickets on eBay.
Thanks for the tip, man.
I think I'm going to turn that into a weekend up there. I'm flying into ATL on Friday anyway. Gotta be in Auburn on Sunday.
Might as well fill up the in-between time with some Weez.
Ticketmaster still has tickets available...if you want to pay their horrible service charge.
yep. hung up on the old man...
Marshmallows on a stick coming up today!
Is there an archive of your radio appearance Jay G? Wasn't able to partake at that moment.
I doubt it.
That's a pretty new station over there and they don't have the most up-to-date equipment.
Will you please tell John Longshore that you neither like or dislike him, but rather, you really don't care. In fact, let him know that his thoughts and musings are not worth the time it takes to attempt to comprehend what point he is trying to make. He spent a portion of time that I will never get back telling his listen audience who liked him at the Advertiser. I regret I was not quick enough to turn on my CD player.
Oops, I just fell into the same trap, I just spent a minute that I will never get back typing something about JL.
I think it is hilarious how jay g says how glad he is to be on this fine radio program every time he gets on 740 but i have to admit that is how I found this blog....and Jay G can you tell JL to quit yelling everytime he talks
Shallow minds and weak intellects mark those who feel the need to shout others down. That is my quote all by myself.
