Schedule update
Hey everyone. Sorry for the late start here. I'm also sorry for not linking to the weekly "Hatin' with Jay G." show based out of Jackson, Miss. I'd boo me.
THE SITUATION: Auburn is practicing right now. Interviews begin in the 10:30 range. Tuberville and de facto offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger will be available for interviews.
As always, I'll twitter if somebody says something very interesting.
I'm aiming to get a Tuberville synopsis up around noon and a video around 2:30. I'll be around for most of the afternoon taking your calls and answering questions in the comments section.
I'm also available for campfire work around 4:30 CDT if there is interest.

is that a trapper keeper
What is that chicken scratch off to the side.
I am glad that Muschamp posted on the last blog entry. When I eat lunch with Bobby later today, I am going to insist that any new coaching hire, whether OC or HC, is a dedicated Hottie poster, so that we can get a good feel for him. After a trial process, we can decide if he is a good fit or not. This is a must. It is crucial.
I just linked to those notes. They aren't mine. You should know I'd never mess with anything called "Microsoft DNS."
FakeSJ asked me yesterday if I'd be getting one of the new MacBook Pros that were announced earlier this week.
I'd love one. The problem is that I just dropped $1,700 on this MacBook Pro. If you have some extra cash lying around ...
Somebody explain to me the difference between a Mac and a PC. I have no earthly.
both are functional. The MAC is plug and play. It takes an engineer to use the PC. The MAC could be run by my five year old.
Downside is the MAC is north of 1700 and the PC could be had for 650.
Well one is a comedian that wears a suit and tie with black rimmed glasses and has been a correspondent on The Daily Show. The other is that insufferable douche from Dodgeball and Die Hard 4
the Mac is skinny and funny and PC's are slightly overweight and have glasses and are a bit nerdy.
software wise though, still using windows and microsoft?
Macs also have been known for being more reliable than PC's.
They are also chosen more by people who work with photos and videos alot.
if you are in graphic design, advertising, just playing around and some business applications, the MAC is GREAT!!!!!
If you are in construction, PC.
More reliable ... I don't get it. So is this like a Chevy vs. Ford thing?
This is probably old news. And it's also stuff that's very much expected in light of the issues Auburn is dealing with right now.
A few of Auburn's verbals are looking around for other options now. Most notable to me is Montez Robinson. He's a stud DE that Auburn won a state battle over early on. Now he's seriously checking out Alabama.
The highly ranked TE our of Marietta, Phillip what's his face, is looking elsewhere as well. He doesn't especially want to line up in a 3 pt stance and block. Alrighty then.
David Connor is a pretty highly regarded DB out of Mississippi that was a solid verbal now he's most likely going to go to Ole Miss. It's right down the road and Nutt brings hope to Oxford.
Still a long ways to go. But it's safe to say all the questions surrounding Auburn's staff are deteriorating recruiting efforts...once again. I'd say that's two years in a row. You can check out Phillip L's quotes. Looks to me like Ensminger hasn't put much time into securing his pledge. Ensminger hasn't exactly answered any of Phillip's most important questions. How could Ensminger though? He has no clue where he'll be next year.
I think Mark just called me a dummy.
How about with Autocad?
i like pcs because even if they crash (something the mac will supposedly never do), I can still buy about two more with the same processor speed/memory and spend about the same I would on those three as I would on one mac. Plus, macs only have one mouse button, and that is just stupid.
if we lose Lutzneheimerglabben, there will be great weeping and gnashing of teeth!
Not sure if/how autocad runs on macs.
Yea, macs are way more expensive than PC's.
Top of the line macbook - $2500-3000
Top of the line PC laptop - $1500-2000
Okay, so far I haven't heard why I want one. What is it's biggest advantage. Crashing? Never had that happen. So, besides that ... what? What makes it cost twice as much?
Phred, no Phreaking way would I call you a dummy.
Just think that for straight forward applications, (accounting, construction projects, spreadsheets, word processing), the PC is better.
However, I do not know about Autocad. We have an all PC environment here and use AutoCad and Solid Edge. The PC works fine.
I think Apple does some sort of witchcraft on people that buy their stuff. My dad is one of them. He is an Apple Store junkie. I don't know, maybe it's like being a fan of an indie band (but not like a really obscure one, but one of the ones that everyone kind of knows about).
Once you start buying all Apple stuff, you start synchronizing and one thing leads to another and then you start to always get in arguments with people on why Apples are so much better than everything else. I can't explain it, maybe someone who has a Mac can better explain the addiction.
Farfegnugen
Was just kidding around. If you read it a certain way, you could make that jump. Y'all have a good day. Somebody start a ridiculous rumor so Jay can have about 600 comments today.
This is just what a friend of mine told me, but his source is someone who is close to somemone in the AD department, but it appears that ... you fill in the rest.
Yea, what michael said. It's hard to explain.
But, I do feel like Apple is way more innovative with their products.
Like the gestures on the new macbooks, and the glass trackpad/button.
Also, from what I've seen with owning my iPhone, their customer service seems a hell of a lot better than Microsoft or any PC company.
This is just what a friend of mine told me, but his source is someone who is close to somemone in the AD department, but it appears that the Tony Franklin firing was motivated by religious bigotry. The Lutheran bloc in the receiving corps is said to have had a strong influence on the decision. I will get you more details as they emerge.
I have always been a PC guy. But last semester I had to develop a podcast in order to teach a class. We used a Mac and I tell ya...if I had 2 grand to spend on a laptop, Mac would get it. It made that process as simple as drop and drag. The final product looked as professional as if I had spent days on it instead of a few hours.
The features just seem more geared toward creative projects. There was also this garage band program on it that lets you do just about anything you want musically.
There needs to be a Mac program called "Offensive Coordinator" that can analyze a defense and call creative plays. It would save AU hundreds of thousands of dollars.
this is kind of strange but my contact on the inside is telling me CTT will be replaced by a laptop known as Coach Hal 9000....."I'm sorry Dave, I can't allow you to call that play"
I began my education in the San Diego Unified School District, which used Apple equipment to teach computer classes.
My dad got one so I could work some stuff at home in an environment similiar to what I had at at school. It just grew from there; I've always used Mac equipment.
I'm not one of these snobs who thinks Mac is superior in every way. It's made with dummies in mind, for sure, and I can fix most software issues on the fly.
Also, Barrett Trotter will not be available for interviews today as previously indicated. Auburn announced that decision just moments ago.
OPEN THE LOCKER ROOM DOOR, HAL!!!
It is obvious that the old CTT is back. He is using deception and trickeration to fool the likes of WVU. Lining up at QB next Thursday will be Tray Blackmon. He will beat the head in of anyone trying to tackle him. It will be called the cast offense.
You heard it here first.
I'm all about the cast offense, Mark.
I'll work up a playbook jpeg later.
This former AAA Player of the Year out of Lagrange, GA was one of the most highly touted linebackers in the history of high school talent evaluation by propaganda soaked recruiting services. Often referred to as "Lil' Ball of Hate", this 5 star linebacker went on to...
Who is Tray Blackmon?
Eltoro Freeman has a 40" vertical leap. He runs a 4.5 40. And he's been clocked at 4.63 in the shuttle. And he looks like Tray Blackmon.
Here's the next generation in Offensive Dominance...
NEW AUBURN PLAYBOOK - "CAST" OFFENSE
Jay G,
Don't know why I just thought of this, but is the $6M buyout a lump sum payment, or is it like the lottery where it's received over 30 years?
Your picture needs more QB sneaks...
With Blackmon and his CAST, no one will be able to stop him, much less, his CAST.
Great post Sensible, one the best I have ever seen! I loved that game.
"FEAR THE CAST!"
I think current buyouts for coaches are usually spread over 4 or 5 years.
Tennessee got burned 4 years ago when they fired Buzz Peterson and he had a lump sum payment which caused the athletic dept to have to borrow money out of the schools general fund. I think after that all coaches had their wording revised.
Also, everything is negotiable. I doubt Tub would hold Auburn up for all the money up front like Buzz did to UT.
Phred, In RE development I'm constantly using microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Project. I send a lot of files back and forth with GCs and Civils. Don't know think the Mac software is compatible.
Although the PC hardware is less expensive, "Big Brother" Microsoft rolls out new operating systems every few years and when doing so makes it difficult to continue to utilize older versions of the software mentioned above. Obviously, this is a ploy to force the purchase of upgrades.
Did you guys know that Tray Blackmon filled his wrist cast with molten lava instead of padding? That dude's bad.
Yeah....That Nutt...Ol' Houston that the Ark fans hated so much neotiated a buyout/release from Ark and a new contract with Ole Miss at the same time and now he is their darling. He got to start over with a new fan base and pocketed some cash. Of course he'll have to do it again in a few years b/c the fickle, neurotic SEC fans "demand" a champee-onship and will soon want hime gone.
Hey..I got an idea.....let's get neurotic like the Ark fans.....
ALL YOUR PC ARE BELONG TO US.

how to upgrade a mac
wow. that is one voilent computer upgrade.
Mr.Sensible...SJ's commentthat's in reference to an old internet sensation deriving from some foreign video game.
Google, All your Base are belong to us. The same nerds who loved it also talk in l33t speak....
Jay G, my first computer was a comodore64, but at school we had the old macs with the green screens. They ruled.
My mac mouse has two buttons.
The cast offense may just work. Someone call gus malzahn and find out if he knows how to run it.
Looks like it's Kodi or bust gang.
BURNS IS THE MAN...FINALLY>

So which plays get dropped when they have to simplify the "CastOff"?
Okay, thanks PF

Yet Another New Playbook
Productive use of my lunch break today...
AU OFFENSE w/KODI BURNS>
Ben Volin seems to be able to ask the tough questions, but when I commented on his blog, asking what possessed him to ask Tubs such a dumb question, it went unanswered.
Isn't that new playbook close to Ga Tech's ?!? Hey whatever gets us closer to playing in January, right?
Modified Run N Shoot which is as close as Tecmo Super Bowl gets to "The Spread"
"Hey..I got an idea.....let's get neurotic like the Ark fans....."
The season's still young, Hoopie. :)
