Tuberville speaks, 11/25
Hey everyone. I'm just posting a quick thing to let you know that I'm alive and I'm working for the HABOTN.
Tuberville just ended his daily briefing. He spent 40 minutes just jabbering about nothing with the writers and a few selected guests (Paul Spina and Vince Saia), so I'm a little behind.
Here is an overview of what he had to say:
Synopsis for Jerry Hinnen: Auburn is 5-6 heading into its tilt against No. 1 Alabama. Coach Tommy Tuberville believes his team will be spirited and well-prepared for the Saturday afternoon game at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tusclaoosa, Ala. The Columbia Broadcasting System will be televising the game in color.
Tuberville just ended his daily briefing. He spent 40 minutes just jabbering about nothing with the writers and a few selected guests (Paul Spina and Vince Saia), so I'm a little behind.
Here is an overview of what he had to say:
- On Wes Byrum's alleged knee injury: "Day-to-day. We'll have to wait. He comes out there with ice on it. There's not structural damage. For some reason it just locks up on him. That's what they say. I'm no doctor."
- He said Brad Lester is "100 percent" for the first time since August.
- On how he's gone 4-1 against top-five teams in his Auburn career: "We're usually not a flamboyant team. We don't look flashy. We go out, we play and we take it quarter by quarter. We know most of our games are going to come down to the end anyway. We don't go out and try to do big plays. We do take a few chances every once and a while, try to get the momentum. Momentum is huge against ranked teams."
- On Kodi Burns: "Kodi's confidence wasn't very good a few weeks ago. He was even struggling with some of the things that we were doing. You've got to do it over and over in practice. He's doing that. It's helped him. His fundamentals are good. He's getting his hips to the target. He's learning to take a little bit off of some passes. Kodi is one of those (players) who throws a 90 mph fastball on every down. Sometimes you can't do that. If you have a 10-yard pass, you need to take a little bit off of it. It's a work in progress."

Thanks Jay for the bball coverage. Looking forward to it.
Your site is so hot you're probably going to have people just posting "FIRST!!!" in the comments like Perez Hilton. Congratulations, sir, you have arrived. :)
Shesaid, lets not give the eager beavers any encouragement.
Jay, this may be a silly question, but how does Tuberville's mood seem? Or can you really tell with him?
Jay,
what did funky cold spina have to say?
Scottie B, don't let me mislead you. I am an avid 2Pac listener. I've been known to put "Picture Me Rollin" on in the car and drop my car down to whatever speed "idle" normally goes and just cruise. It infuriates my passengers but I thoroughly enjoy it.
Sean, this website is a force of nature. Nothing we can control. Just let go....and let God.
love me some Tupac shesaid. rocked it all the way back from Nashville sunday. 'picture me rollin' is one of my all-time favs.
"I got keys comin from overseas..."
I wanna open a Tupac of whoop-A on the Tide!!!
I thought "Changes" was a great rap, though I'm expecting Tupac now to posthumously release a song amending the line about never seeing a black president.
Tuberville was remarkably relaxed and easy-going today. I tried to read into that, but I couldn't come to a unified theory. So I won't say anything else about it.
Jerry's Kids in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
Since both had pretty much the same lyrics to the wrod, which do you prefer more "Changes" or "I Wonder If Heaven Got A Ghetto"?
"word" not "wrod"...
Just for my opinion I thought changes was a better song and a great use of the original music by Bruce Hornsby.
Jay, F-baum loves to paint Spina as a bad guy who is constantly trying to get rid of CTT. Living here in the Ham some of my friends are friends of Spina. What I hear from them is that he is Tub's number 1 supporter.
Any insight?
Spina is pro-Tuberville and has been.
Quotes added to the main blog; video now being built and uploaded.
HATE BAMA TODAY!
Curiosity question -- any of ya'll ever try the "Auburn All Access" package? Is it worth the money?
Per Jet,
AAHHHHHH, HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE!!!!!

Well that should strike fear in the heart of the opponent. I just do not know how to comprehend this quote.
"He said Brad Lester is "100 percent" for the first time since August."
UAT must lose. DIE!
KJtiger,
what's there to comprehend?
aaaaaahhhh jerry's kids

ron Nice picture by the way. I hate to hear about the guilty plea. Anyway, to me that quote reads that he is saying his sucess against top teams has come down to luck. Keep it close and maybe just maybe we can get lucky. I just do not understand how that can be his secret to sucess. Maybe understand would of been a better word. I would just expect more from a major D1 head coach.
taylor,
My whole house shook when she fell.
I added that quote about not being flashy into the video. That may give you a better view into what he was trying to say.
y'all think that was terrence cody's sister?
Hey everyone.. I read this quote in today's Press-Register, written by E. Woodbery, pg.2C... In quoting Ensminger, (speaking of Kodi) "...you don't have to make plays on every 3rd down. You live to punt." I realize he is talking abou tnot turning it over, ad i understand it, but just saying that does not seem to give a lot of confidence in an offense which needs confidence. Just my 2 cents. Scottie B- Bear 82's check in the mail yesterday...
sorry about the typing errors. I really do have an education.
Video has been added.
everyone is making a hug deal of that quote.
all he is saying is that kodi doesnt need to force something on third down. he says punting is ok...ie win the field position battle, dont give an opportunistic offense (bama) an opportunity on a short field. he isnt saying, "kodi, i have no faith in your ability so we will play to punt".
bottom line: punting > interceptions
sometimes young quarterbacks need to be reminded of that
I would bet my life that the question about Tubs' record against top-5 teams came from Phillip Marshall. Spin, spin, spin.
I can't remember who asked that question.
Is Byrum's knee seriously injured? It seems more like a mental thing than anything.
