Question for Jay G,
Why can't Tuberville consider Ensminger for OC? He seems to be the only guy that has reached and gotten the best out of Kodi Burns.
i like j. powers. this is going to be either one of the most memorable iron bowls in au's history or whimpering end to a season of coulda shoulda.
When thinking back through the many games we have lost this season, and taking the Tony Franklin experiment out of the equation; Bosley summed it up: we simply have had zero breaks this year. Seriously. How many fumbles by (insert opponent here) bounced either directly back to the fumbling party or into the arms of the only other player on their team in the vicinity? Trindon Holliday's multiple kickoff miscues immediately come to mind. My very first game in Jordan-Hare was the '89 Florida State game that was won like so many Auburn games against higher-ranked teams by a last second field goal. This year two missed extra points have been the difference in as many games. While most of our travails have been self-inflicted, Lady Luck's choice to smile elsewhere has also played a big role in this disaster of a season.
By the way, my T-shirt order form and payment for the same is en-route.
Ensminger doesn't have an offense. He's just a clean-up guy here.
I feel like starting some trouble.
put my t-shirt order in the mail before I left! I'm spending the week with GA,ALA, GATech, Clemson, Citadel and Auburn fans at a beach house together...going to be a fun Saturday!
Your picture is trouble Mon
I thought Nall ended 2003 with a great game. What happened that he was not considered and will not be considered for this year. He said that year, that he had run his offense in the 03 Bama game and it worked out pretty well.
forgot the Tenn fan....I'm too laid back for trouble!!
anyone remember a professor Wade or Doctor Wade at Auburn?
we should all download the Beat Bama....it's a conspiracy!
WEG - You said the GA fans were disappointed with their 9-2 season? That doen't fit Hoopies facts.
Kris - Where is YOUR BEAT BAMA pic?
wooo hoooo you go, WEG!!
when it comes to fans....they are disappointed with starting out #1 and not being able to finish it. They hate Florida so much they want Bama to win
they were thinking #1 in the West Auburn and #1 in the East Ga was going to be playin in the SEC championship game....was that a dream at the beginning of the season?
wasn't Ensminger already a co-OC and how did that turn out?
my EYES, MY EYES!!!
Monica-I sense that you are about ready to get your game face on.
How's this?
okay faker....be nice......I guess it's okay since it's Iron Bowl week
Not cool FSJ.
ok, how are we supposed to tell Monica from War Eagle Girl with the same photo? craziness.
i'm ready now. got the '6' pic up. fire it up!
I have no Beat Bama pic....it is all in my head.
Where did you get those big hands Scottie?
LOL.
I read the Blues Traveler reference before I watched the video. I have to admit I was expecting a crazy comment by Tub to be the last thing followed by "Runaround" playing in the background.
Scottie rockin' the six fingers.
That's the good stuff right there.
I was thinking of producing a 7 shirt. If we win, it sells to AU fans. If we lose, it sells to UAT fans.
I have tolerated FSJ until now because he makes good points and doesn't share (or at least doesn't admit to it) the same uneducated Auburn bashing, bear-loving hypotheses as the rest of his trailer-park dwelling bretheren...that picture is really pushing it though.
This better Kris?
Hate for anybody to get their panties in a wad.
I would have selected a different finger.
We lost to fsu in 1989. Beat them in 90 though after an ill fated fumblerooski call by Bowden. Fsu had a pretty good backup by the name of Johnson in that game.
I'm out to have fun at the beach........War eagle!!
Kris, I can't tell if you're just teasing or being confrontational.
Thanks for answering, Jay.
Any chance he stays on as QB coach>
I would think that the new OC would most probably coach the QB's, but who knows.
Mark it down, Malzahn is the new OC. We open up the offense in 2009.
Just teasing bro....this ain't the place for confrontations. We are all brothers and sisters here, regardless of team affiliation. My bad FSJ if my comments were taken out of context. Your posts this season (albeit from an unlikely source) have provided good perspective, which is kinda hard to come by from like-minded fans.
Things are starting to get crazy around here...
Ok, so I am a conformist...how's this...
WOOT WOOOOOT!!!!!
Oh I sooooooo got my game face on!
Woot AND Kristina layin it down with BEAT BAMA
It's a flash mob!
Faker time to fly yours. Ya know ya wanna...
Awesome quote up top, Ate.
Totally off the wall here. But I HATE college basketball unis these days. The shorts are absolutely ridiculous. Hideous.
Why carry around all that extra material when it makes you look like a third grader? I'm not saying go John Stockton. But this stuff today looks just plain retarded.
crudup ... I kept thinking about you today. That's why I lifted the ban on anonymous commenters.
If that knucklehead from earlier returns, we'll have to go back on lockdown.
What did I do, Jay?
Crudup, some Alabama dude came on here being some Alabama dude. You know how they can get sometimes.
I'm headed home. Peace to the peeps.
Crudup, some nice ol' chap from Bama Nation came to visit us earlier so Jay had to restrict comments to registered users only. He has lifted the ban though so you could post.
Anyone hear Tiger Talk tonight?
A caller told Tuberville that Fannin should have been playing the last two drives.
Tuberville's response: "You're exactly right"
I haven't talked to an Alabama fan yet face to face that isn't worried about this "non-rivalry" game. Everybody who has watched the games this fall has realized that these teams actually match up well with Auburn being seemingly healthy now.
There's an Alabama X factor and his last name is Jones. The Auburn X factor is a mystery but could be a number of individuals who may not have been given many chances this year due to inept coaching by Tubs and Gran.
17 pts? It could happen but I don't see it without an Auburn implosion.
I'm registered but I'm also wireless. I'm always wireless. I'm not even real anymore I'm so wireless.
Thanks Crudup ...
I remember my Y hoops days of years gone by ... polyester barely covering my butt ... I'm thinking the pajamas are better.
Mon-I get my ankles taped on Thursday after the dinner. Eye black goes on Friday. I'll be ready.
BTW-Just put the finishing touches on that tree. Up to wifey to get'er ready for Christmas. I am done with that mess.
Hard practice Tuesday, taper off Wednesday, walk-thru on Thursday ...return to the gridiron for the first time in 15 years for family football game on Friday.
Turkey for lunch, forearm shiver for dessert
i think all of the tiger's sun reflecting black cheek patches should have "7" on it. it's gonna happen.
Ate-Thank is great. Haven't heard forearm shiver in a while.

AMEN!!
That is a great reference. "typo"
Down to my playing weight ... or close to it.
Lining up across from my 18 year old ... it's gonna be war.
my favorite version of the Nutcracker is the one that Ray Nitscke and Fuzzy Thurston did for the Green Bay Packers
I'm at my playing weight, but no one around here to take a pounding. I tried to get my daughter to suit up but she is a little worried she could get hurt.
This is going to be good. No one is giving us a chance in hell. Even Coach Dye on F-baum was playing into the bammers' hands. "Well, cough cough, if we don't make no mistakes and our little ole kickah don't make no mistakes and that little ole quotta-back with the funny bangs throws some to our boys, well, we might have a chance" This is setting up nicely.... just like Lloyd Christmas said, "So your telling me there's a chance!"
Off subject as i just registered today, when you post, does the delete can show up just on your own post or can the rest of you see it. I'm a newbie so forgive the ?
Game is my sister's three sons and me vs. my brother's three sons and my son. I'm taking my daughter's spot ... she has an injured knee. She's a gamer, but she can't go.
I'll be playing at 40 over my HS playing weight, but about 80 below my top end from a year ago.
Dadgum it, Coach Dye was supposed to say "Aw-bun's not man enuf to beat Ulabummuh."
Only you can see it, wootang.
When I was in school at AU in the 80's there was a dry cleaner just over the railroad track on Donahue. They would always have sayings on their sign out front.
My favorite was a simple Pat Dye quote "Wo-uh Eagle"
Mr. Sensible, I don't think it would be politically correct for Ensminger to be considered. I don't think he has ever been given a fair shot at being the OC and he has OC experience, but the fans tend to blame 2003 on him and Nall, which I don't think is necessarily justified. They were told to run Petrino's system.
Kris, I disagree. We could have easily have lost two more games this season: UT and MSU.
War Eagle Girl, Ensminger was never the OC or co-OC.
Som e of my favorites of the Pat Dye quote library are "hindsight is 50/50" and "We need to-a do-a better blockalin and tacklelin". Pat is a man's man.
Woot - Eye Black Stickers - not grease - that way we can write on 'em.
(you people and your early Christmas trees! oy vey)
Go to youtube and punch up Coach Dye ... get the speech after the loss to Tennessee in 1981 ... and you'll be ready to run through a wall.
I actually get kind of that weepy motivation like I could charge a machine gun postition.
Posted this on the last thread because I'm special like that but......
Ran into Stan White today in Mobile at the Convention Center. Gave him a "WAR EAGLE, STAN!" I think I scared him a little because his eyes bugged but he gathered himself and said War Eagle back. If he hadn't acted so startled I was going to go in for a high-five. Maybe next time.
Sorry, Okra, but if I saw you I'd get a little bug eyed, too. War Eagle anyway.
wootangclan, why should I write something down? We opened up the offense this season. We have just managed to minimize the bleeding from the results.
barkley for governor, '
A caller told Tuberville that Fannin should have been playing the last two drives.
Tuberville's response: "You're exactly right"'
That is pretty shocking. It is unusual for CTT to be so direct.
wootangclan, the delete can only shows up on your own posts, unless you are an admin.
I have a friend who son is in the AU band. I asked if we are going to play our video before the game starts since this is our home game. Maybe march around the field like in Auburn. If UAT wins, then they can claim the field back.
Better yet, let's have Nova circle the stadium and give 'em the old No. 7 -- three No. 2s and a No. 1 on Saban.
Steve-I mean have more than 5 plays with two of them handing off to Tate.
I do feel next year, with the wr's coming in, we should be able to open the field up with a lot more ease. Could be wrong, but this far out, i'm going with it.
Now back to the game.
WAR EAGLE.
I recall the Vanyd kids throwing little Debbie cakes when Dubose showed for that game up there. That is a classic.
I think it's hilarious when Alabama fans say that six years of frustration is going to be released Saturday.
Last time Alabama beat Auburn I think their best player (Julio) was in middle school. Do you really think he's frustrated?
Wait a minute ... I thought it wasn't a rivalry ... they shouldn't be frustrated.
Life is Burger King for those guys ... they want it their way ... whatever they decided it is after the fact.
My daughter asked me this weekend if AU had ever lost to UAT. I thought that was great. She is senior in high school now.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvfMTNO2Pj0
Just watch.
Man, that video makes me want Pat Dye to pull a Bill Snyder.
There are days when you're going to lay your guts on the line, and you're going to end up empty-handed, and there's not a damn thing you can do about it except get up and do it again ... and again and again.
Classic.
It's getting quiet in here ... i'll take as a sign to go to bed.
see you kids tomorrow.
Actually Mon..I stated that UGA fans aren't consumed with the idea of replacing the starters with the latest flavor of sub on the bench like AU fans do.
Many UGA are disappointed that they didn't go undefeated against the tuffest schedule in CFB. They now think that CMR is not tuff enough of a coach. They don't understand that he lost every starter from last season's OL through graduation or injury.
IMO, CMR is a lax disciplinarian. An ex-UGA OL that is a friend of the family got 2 MIPs and only got one game suspensions for each. He was a redshirt freshman starter. Injuries ended his career.
Kodi said the "P" word (patience) and I think he means it. That's good news...he's getting closer to being a real Qb.
I don't know who the Packers GM is, but I want some of whatever he was drinking when he told Favre to go somewhere else.
wootangclan, we currently have a lot of talent at wide receiver. Incoming recruits will not likely contribute a lot next season. I am sure Frenchy will get some playing time, but somehow we need to get Slaughter, Zachary, and Hawthorne playing up to their abilities. All were highly regarded recruits, higher than those in the incoming class. We just have not brought them along well.
After watching them play this year, I just don't think they will be able to play up or be coached up. At WR position you should be able to play well ny your 2nd year, if you are good, if not the team should move on. You either have the ability to separate from coverage or not.
Our guys now get bunched up and 1 man can cover them. When the QB scambles, they don't seem to be able to find an opening. I have seen several times where they just drift the same direction. That is a lack of coaching, but come on. If you'e played that position you should know how to get open.
Also-I still think Tubbs will run a spread type offense and the recruits already run these type of offenses. I just think that is big for this offense.
Brandon Cox spoke at the Montgomery QB club and was asked about CTF and how he came across. He said CTF coached every position the 2nd day he was at AU. Position coaches were very angry then according to him.
wootangclan, that is where I think CTT and CTF made a mistake. CTF needed to coach his position coaches first and then let them do their jobs. I think this unique season resulted from CTF's poor management skills. These aren't bad coaches in general. They just needed to understand what he wanted to see with the offense. If you can't teach the coaches, you have no chance of selling an offense to the players.
Aubie, I believe your exceeding the weight limit on those leotards.
Someone needs to send me the memo about same avatar. Anyways, I'm ready for the game.
Eddie - Your avatar is pefectly delightful. However, I'll be happy to email you. I know you like that. Or you can just rip the one off my profile.
Monica- I have that Jpeg, just like being different :).
Well then I misunderstood your 6:47 a.m. post. Sorry. :-)
Monica- Thats the problem, 6:47 is too early :)!!! Now, lets BEAT BAMA!
I like being different too....
FSJ, i made the '5' hand for the 2006 game in t-town and added the second hand last year. me and my peeps had a blast at toomer's after the game. if we somehow happen to make '7' i'll be happy to send you a picture. :)
I like it Scottie. I hope you can raise another digit.
ME TOO EDDIE. ME FRIGGIN' TOO.
One more day closer to ruining a season for someone.
I just really looked at your picture, Scottie. Those are great! You really are an artist.

the pic's a little dark but it gets the point across.
thanks gal. i would LOVE to make another one. :)
No offense, but I hope you get to scrap that idea...
:-)
I love it!
Gettin' chippier close to game time.
i think that week off helped me rejuvenate the old batteries. i'm getting pretty fired up. it's iron bowl week!
WE BELIEVE.......
ok, no snickering!
Don't be shocked...
FSJ- Does the 1 represent the number of times that Saban has lost to Auburn currently while at Alabama? I like it.
Noooooo...
It signifies new beginnings.
Listening to Randy Campbell on the Opening Drive.
Seems like a nice guy.
i'm diggin the way you think eddie.
Saturday can't get here soon enough.
Woo...love the avatar. Let's put that "7" around Bama's neck strangle the MNC out of them.
I'm only settling for wins not moral victories this week. Time to rise up and play this week.
Put me in, Coach!
Monica! I am "shocked"
Ok...I'm trying to keep from peaking too early.
I've already purchased the groceries for this weekend.
30 lbs of Pork Butts
10 slabs of Ribs
Several cases of refreshments
I'm going to be cooking like Emeril starting on Friday night......
A friend and I were talking about auburn yesterday. He said most teams have one complete game a year, and that made me think maybe, just maybe ours will be saturday. But then again it could of been against georgia.
Round the bowl,
down the hole.
Roll Tide Roll!
Bring it on!!!!
what are your cases of, FSJ? Inquiring minds want to know...
FSJ ... get liquored up!
We want you off your game!
Randy Campbell was a helluva singer!
Ever hear that song he sang about Bo?
AUsome!
Jet- Everytime I see your avatar picture I think...
MINE...MINE...MINE...MINE
Dawson on F-Baum yesterday, "Auburn has a 0% chance of beating us".
I LOVE IT!!!
Imagine how sweet this will be when/if we pull it off!
Mr. Sensible:
Natural Light...nothing but the best.
Just kidding
I think ...
"Say hello to my little friend."
That's what I want to do to Bama, except of course, where Tony gets riddled by bullets at the end.
CNS knows that we can play D. I think he fears our D scoring more than our O though.
I tink Nick is a cockaroach.
It's just Tuesday and I can't be still. All my thought bubble says is, "seven, Touchdown Auburn, 7, sack lunch, War Eagle, Bo Over the Top, Pat Dye, seven, Iron Bowl, Tristan Davis kickoff return TD, interception Powers, 7, Tuscaloser, BOOM MOTHER*$%&@!, YOU AIN'T HURT!, Punt Bama Punt, seven....1,2,3,4,5,6,7" and so on and so forth forever. One more day of work. I need to go check my blood pressure.
LMAO @ Kristina!! So was I, but I'll have to email you the rest.
Are we doing scores yet?
We can Mark...Whatcha got?
From Emsminger's comments yesterday, I Believe you will see a somewhat pedestrian first half. Lots of traps and draws, but little in the way of flash. Second half, same look with roll outs on boots that draw their D in and then hit the payday.
He needs Kodi to be patient so that they do not score on D and make it ugly. If the score is within 7 in the fourth, look for us to win.
Yeah, Mark. Mine's 9-6 AU victory!
shesaid, do you go to google images and enter "celebrity women looking psychotic" for your avatars? ;-)
I am getting excited too and I'm glad I have y'all. My husband is being Mr Negative Nancy and wouldn't even join in when I was watching Groves lead the band after last year's win!
Well...I predict both team's scores combined will not equal 40 points.
Hey peeps.
I'm in the office handling some biz. I'm headed over to Auburn at 1 ish. Tuberville speaks at 2 p.m., though I think you've heard the last of useful pre-Alabama information.
We'll find other ways to keep ourselves entertained.
I'll be back ...
I finally get it FSJ- 1= the number of Alabama fans wearing a "Hotest Auburn Blog On The Net" T-shirt. Good one, took me awhile to figure out.
LOL at Eddie....
Kristina, I love shocking the HABOTN with my pics. I actually know that I need to find a better fierce lady for my avatar but haven't had much luck so I just go with crazy pics of my favorite power ladies.
Faker, I agree the game will be lowwww scoring. How low? Who knows? Could be tied at the end of regulation, 0-0. I wouldn't be there to see it though because I would have already been rushed to the emergency room with an exploded head.
Not Iron Bowl, but this is the first Auburn game I ever went to as a member of the Auburn student body. Ah, memories.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smVF5xzRZ74
Here is my lowdown on the game.
I already mentioned my idea of Auburn's gameplan and if successful in keeping the score close will also be a win.
However, looking at positions:
Alabama Secondary, - will have very little problem covering our wideouts.
Linebackers - Straight up alabama will beat our TE's. However, good use of play action could be the difference here. Our running backs can make yardage if we can get our linemen to this level.
Dline - Our offensive line will have difficulty moving their line. We will need to focus on play action and draws to be successful.
QBs. Kodi can be successful with his legs if he is patient and does not run every down. He can roll out and bootleg. The Qb draw is a great weapon. To me, the success of this game rides on his shoulders.
Great clip shesaid, that was also my first game as a student at Auburn. Good times.
Defensively:
Our Secondary. Our guys are better than theirs with the exception of Julio. On obvious passing downs, we double him. On the others we take our chances and tackle well.
LBs, mismatch to them if they can get lineman out to block our guys. Our LBs will tackle their RBs if our lineman hold off their lineman.
Our D versus their D line is not a good match.
Best plan is to play 8 in the box and challenge JPWilson to beat us throwing the ball.
Julio is the only guy they have that can get separation.
Special teams could be special. If Tristan or Dunn break one, we could be in business.
Coaching. Sorry, no question who is better here.
In the end, I expect this game to be like the Tennessee game. For both of us.
In other words, Auburn scores 14 and Bama scores 28 or 29.
Just to much in their favor this year.

Mark- Take your logical thinking somewhere else, we are only sunshine pumping today :).
Just kidding. Probably pretty good analysis of what may happen.
My freshman year -

Went to the doctor that morning. Found out I had strep throat. He told me to rest my voice. hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Nice clip, Aubie. "In your face," indeed, Keith Jackson.
AAAAHHHHH, HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE!!!
Kristina and Faker - you have email.
i seem to remember tuberville saying something was wrong with byrum's knee. is that still the case? methinks we'll need a field goal or two this saturday.
Scott, lets just hope Byrum is not the one kicking them.
I love Josh Moon's sighs of exasperation on the Roundtable. He cracks me up.
Jay,
What's this talk of other teams knowing Auburn's play signals? I just heard of this today. Is there any truth to this?
(sorry if this has already been brought up)
I really have trouble believing other teams could interpret the Franklin village people system.
Monica, I did not receive alleged e-mail...
Mark,
Your analysis is spot on, IMO.
Kristina - I sent alleged email via alleged Facebook.
Monica:
Got your email....i will express ship the Bama shirts to you and Kristina so that they arrive before the big game.
RTR,
FSJ
Doug taking at shot at West Virginia....
Hmmmmmmmmmmm....
michael's pregame analysis:
Offense: We should have no problem moving the ball. Alabama should be tired from tackling everyone all season. Our O will be well rested from lack of sustained drives over the course of the year
Defense: Once again, Our front seven should be well rested after choosing to stop tackling once they realized this was a lost season. They did this to preserve energy for the Alabama game. This should pay off in a big way. Tubs already said they are not a passing team, so we shouldn't worry about Julio any.
Final score: Auburn 24, Alabama 7
(Arenas will get a return touchdown. Gotta give credit where credit is due)
Wow, rambling mad man on Roundtable takes a shot at us Hotties.
I've got to ask each of you a question.
What you have done to beat bama today?
OK I just got called toothless and a fat ass. I'm falling out of love with the Roundtable.
why'd this dude on the Roundtable just call this the 'fattest' auburn blog on the net? what did i miss?
This comment has been removed by the author.
I'm down 47 pounds, yall need to pick up the slack!!!!
jet, today I slapped a dog wearing a bama sweater in the face.
Jet:
This guy is getting cranked up for the weekend...
Bringintheheat
jet, i ran 2 miles on my lunch break thinking only 'beat bama' over and over and over in my head. does that count?
monica, who's hating on you?
First, Doug said people in WV don't have their teeth and then Mr. Thinks he's way funnier than he really is said the HABOTN should be called FABOTN - Fattest Auburn Blog on The Net.
It's the season of Thanksgiving, so let's be thankful that we're who we are, we're not them, and that there is a difference.
Beat Bama.
Kick 'em in the butt, Big Blue!
Monica...
I think he meant Phat not Fat...
Mr. Who? United?
When are his prepaid minutes on his cellphone gonna expire?
I'm down 80 this year, so I don't know who he's talkin' about.
oops, i'm up 10 lbs on the year. thus, the treadmill. :)
my fault. sorry fellas/sistas.
BEAT BAMA and SCREW MR. RE-UNITED!
Scottie - You're so sweet. Here all these guys are pointing the finger and Scottie falls on the sword!
It was Mr. U and he didn't name anyone. He said, "...those guys...".
Anyway, the most important thing is Doug called me toothless and now he is dead to me! bammer...
Jan Terri makes no apologies about her weight or her good looks.
"doug is dead to me."
love it. i can't wait till he has the audacity to post here again. he betta watch out!
michael, jan terri references never get old. ever.
Monica ...
Light 'im up.
Tell Doug that Ralphie's dad is PO'd about Doug's dogs eating the Thanksgiving turkey. He's got about 47 of 'em running around Casa de Amos, from what I hear.
Bumpas!!!
You're fightin' Monica? You're fightin' all the hard, fightin' Hottie soldiers. And one angry Jet.
This comment has been removed by the author.
I'm not down a flipping pound this year...
ok i've had it with the mitigating circumstances
that on top of the toothless is more than i can take
i'm calling
Jan Terri transcends the Auburn-Alabama rivalry. But for the record, she is an Auburn fan. In fact, her song "Little Brother" barely lost out to "War Eagle" for the school fight song.
I don't know about everyone else, but this whole it-being-Tuesday thing is killing me...WDE
OK, had to work awhile. I'm back. Heard Scrabinsky give a good reason why AU can win. Everything will have to go our way. But this being Tuesday, I sy it will. We win the toss, take the ball and drive down their throat and make 'em like it and then never look back.
How about that.
Mon, I'm with ya...I mean call a spade a spade and realize your administration and program was in the tank, don't discount our wins, sometimes I can't stand sports talking heads.
It ain't over until we say it is.
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
Hell, no. And it ain't over now.
No more of this lyin' around stuff. I'm not takin' it.
Saban? Dead man.
Amos? Dead
Anybody who challenges the Hotties? Dead.
BANGARANG!
Seems like it's been awhile since we hit 200 posts on a weekday. We just may make it!
Leave the gun tkae the canoli.
I say we give 'em well whupped butt for lunch Saturday, then a big ol' slice of the Eat Me cake for dessert!!!
I'd like to quote Pat Dye here, how long will it take you to beat Alabama? "about 60 minutes." We haven't had a good year but we can be better than them for 60 minutes. There's my contribution to 200.
Absolutely, Woo ...
Greatest movie, best line!
