Tuskegee @ Auburn, 1st half

Plenty of good seats available, as you can see.

AUBURN'S LINEUP
PG -- Dewayne "Speed" Reed of Houston, Texas
SG -- Tez Robertson of Cincinnati, Ohio
SF -- Tay Waller of Manchester, Ga.
"PF" -- Lucas Hargrove of South Carolina
F/C -- Korvotney Barber or Manchester, Ga.

  • HALFTIME
    Auburn leads, 30-11.

  • FOURTH TO @ 3:19
Auburn leads, 27-9. What else can I say? Tuskegee is terminally sloppy. Auburn drew three fouls while shooting during that last period. How many yielded a made basket? Zero point zero.

  • THIRD TO @ 7:56
Auburn leads, 23-7. Same ol'. Jason Caldwell, he of ITAT fame, brought up an interesting point. When is the last time an Auburn player actually finished after being fouled? Hoop and the harm? Hasn't been seen in years.

  • SECOND TO @ 11:26
Auburn leads, 14-4. Auburn is using a simple man-to-man scheme and the visitors can't create shots. That's the bottom line. Auburn is chuggling along like usual on offense; some smart stuff and some silly stuff.

  • Stacy Danley in the house. He's a Tuskegee administrator now.

  • Barber is back in.

  • FIRST TO @ 15:48
Auburn leads, 9-0. The Golden Tigers are sloppy in the half-court offense. Auburn has run a few set offensive plays successfully, which isn't common. Of note -- Vot Barber left with an ankle injury. It didn't look serious to me.

  • Auburn up 7-0 @ 16:40. Tuskegee has called timeout.

I suggest the chearleaders stop cheering globally and do individual cheers for each fan. It could work.

If I lived in Auburn (shudder) or Tuscaloosa I would go to the basketball games..

I don't understand not supporting the teams.

Jay,
I must say either you don't like your wife very much or you are committed. It doesn't matter to me which one but I must commend you on your work ethic!
After all the talk on the blog I thought Jeff Lebo was parking cars at Phipps Arena. CAN the Tuskeegee B-ball team be any good? Not that it matters.
Have fun and I will actually follow the game since otherwise I would not have known it was being played.
As Coach GC would say WarEagle!!!

I love Wifey!

My job is to cover Auburn and that's what I do. It's my function.

On that note, I was thinking about getting a tattoo on my left wrist of our wedding date. The idea came to me a few days back and I'm really warming to it.

I could get it in a spot that would be covered by a watch should I someday leave journalism and wind up in a more reputable career track.

Jay I like the idea of the tat. I have said that when I have kids I am going to get their names inked on my arms in their handwriting.

Blogger FSJ said...

yeah, with my luck I'd get somebody's name permanently affixed to my bod and then would have to get it removed...

Wow... there are more folks standing in the concession stand line at the Duke game than the entire attendance at the AU game.
I realize finals ended yesterday and most students jetted out of town... But if they are in town, and/or live in Auburn, there just isn't an excuse for not supporting the team.

Having grown up in NC... well I don't know how to say it without insulting my beloved Auburn.

Let's just say I laugh at the football "crowds" up here in ACC land.

I want to get a tattoo of a mole on top of my mole. It might call too much attention to me, though.

dudes, i've seen too many old folks with tatoos. the wrist would be okay as you don't, typically lose much turgor there. other parts of the body = bad news when you're 70.
