Aaron Moore is out

Our friends at AuburnSports.com are reporting that offensive lineman Aaron Moore of Plano, Texas, has decommitted.

Moore talked with Auburn assistant Curtis Luper on Monday and the theme of that conversation prompted Moore to ditch the Tigers. ``I just don't feel comfortable with some of the decisions and decided to withdraw my commitment," he told AuburnSports.com.

a.) Auburn's new staff hasn't shown much interest in Moore, so this doesn't come as a surprise.

b.) Moore always will be remembered (in my mind) as the kid Hugh Nall was visiting when Tuberville "resigned."

I am surprised that Moore didn't de-commit on the day that Tuberville, Nall, et al left the building. That could not have been helpful.

Hey Jay, when you said Moseley's arm is not that strong, can you put that on a 1-10 scale for me?

10 being Jamarcus Russell

5 being Brandon Cox

2 being my 2 yr old daughter's non-throwing arm

1 Chris Todd

I wanted to say thanks to all of you who tuned in and downloaded The Gridiron Breakdown over the past several months.

It has been a great ride, but I have decided to move on to other opportunities.

As I understand, the show will keep going through the Super Bowl and then return in the fall for the 2009 season.

Thanks again and take care.

So, will a 3 hour visit with Bryce Brown be enough?

This just in on my Crackberry. ESPN.com has conjured up a way to rank all FBS schools all time. We ended up 21st. The ranking mentioned that we've only played in one significant bowl in the past 20 years and that we lost points for being on probation along the way. Also mentions that we have a higher ranking during the BCS era than the Bammer....

Numbers 21 - 119 were released yesterday and 1-20 coming later.

Does some of the things he is not comfortable with (Moore) mean a change in philosphy, such as more power run set. Does CGC and CGM want more beef and less agility?

N20RU visits yesterday and today:
Perkins
Randle
Blake
Brown
Eguae
?
I wonder if we'll and any of those students. Malzahn and Lolley were on the plane. I wonder if Luper and/or Trooper are there.

Blogger Tar Heel Tiger said...

if we'll *get

1:34 PM

Auburn has a very good shot at Eguae and a decent shot at Blake.

The others are long shots in my opinion.

1:36 PM
Blogger Miller said...

I think I heard that Malzahn and Troop were visiting Blake. So, I assume Troop was on the plane as well.
I'm anxious to see if anything comes from the meeting with Brown.

1:37 PM
Blogger Miller said...

I'd love to see AU land both Eguae and Blake.

I'm greedy. I hope we get Blake, Eguae, and at least one of the others. X X (fingers crossed)

1:43 PM
Blogger Tar Heel Tiger said...

by one of the others, I was primarily referring to "I'll eat a shoe" longshot Brown or Randle. We already had Perkins. I won't get that excited if we get him again.

Blogger Jay G. Tate said...

I'd rather see you gnaw on your foot. Eating shoes is so 2008.

2:10 PM
Blogger Tar Heel Tiger said...

Jay, I'm >50, not 2. I can remove a shoe and get it to my mouth. I might could gnaw on your foot, but absent dismembering myself or disarticulating all the joints of my body, the laws of old fartness will not allow me to gnaw on my own foot.

2:15 PM
Blogger Tar Heel Tiger said...

I could gnaw on my hands or forearms, though I'd prefer the unreachable toes. Sort of like the fox and grapes, I guess.

The plane is almost an hour out of Wichita (and closing in on Dallas). I can't believe it's been that long and we still haven't heard how the visit with Bryce Brown went.

I'm getting a little concerned about y'all.

All this means is Coach Luper told Moore that AU was going in a different direction.

At least it gives the kid a little time to explore other options.

2:42 PM

Awfully short stay planned for Dallas. I wonder if they are dropping coach(es) off for the night to visit Nosa.

Plane heading on to N'awlins later this afternoon. I forget, are we recruiting anyone from N'awlins?

It seems like Moore is fairly similar to the guy from FL we are bringing in this weekend. Maybe the coaches liked him a little better for whatever reason.

It seems clear that Farms trumps them both. If we can pick up Johnnie Farms and this guy from FL in exchange for Moore, I'll take it.

This departure portends the imminent replacement of less heralded players (signed by the old staff) with new outrageously fast and strong beasts that will constitute the offensive and defensive lines of Auburn future.

Please keep the Kool-Aid comin' ... by the truckload.

Thanks guys. You're making this rookie feel right at home. I'm not missing the hatefulness of the other blogs. Must be the absence of the toothless infidel faithful.

Was that hateful and wrong? I need some guidance here.

Blogger Will said...

I'm not going to even portend to know what that word means.

3:04 PM

Minister, we have one or two "Other Schoolers" here, most notably FSJ. They are, however, incredibly nice folks.

Welcome to HABOTN, your new best friends.

3:07 PM
Blogger Howard said...

Not hateful or wrong, Minister. All of the infidel faithful over here have teeth... I think.

All in all, it's a very respectful neighborhood, which make it a much nicer place to play in my opinion. We get some thoughtful discussion, even when we disagree.

3:08 PM
Blogger Will said...

Minister, some suggestions, just keep it family friendly...anti-Tide posting is okay, in fact encouraged.

Be nice to Monica, or you'll face a liquid diet. We do have a few UAT faithful who stop in, but they are good people.

Also Jay G. Tate likes to be called by his full name at all times.

Jay GT- will you have Coach Fortner post on HABOTN or should I look at the Advertiser tomorrow?

She's doing a fabulous job, and to opinionate on a previous post, I think it does put a little bit more pressure on Coach Lebo.

I guess:

1. Tar Heel is contemplating tonight's bowl of vanilla and chocolate syrup, even though the forecast is for 14 degrees.

2. Harrison is at Snark Level Orange.

3. Monica is disavowing any level of aggressive hate, which means someone is about to get a javelin in the Adam's apple.

4. Michael is waiting on his orders from the leadership tribunal from the planet Xckgsdriwedebar.
