The Official HABOTN Commendation
Thanks to our friend Jet, who is both a gentleman and a scholar, the HABOTN has been lauded via Alabama Senate Resolution No. 09-182.
Here is the text. If you'd like the official resolution in PDF form, I have uploaded it to sendspace.com and provided a link below.

Montgomery, Alabama
Office of the Secretary
RESOLUTION
Commending Jay G. Tate and the HABOTN for Outstanding New Media Achievement
WHEREAS, with utmost admiration and appreciation, we recognize the Hottest Auburn Blog on The Net (HABOTN), which has established itself as the premier web site for supporters of Auburn University to glean information about athletics, engage in good-natured debate and develop friendships with like-minded fans throughout the nation and world; and
WHEREAS, Jay G. Tate, who covers the Auburn beat for the Montgomery Advertiser, launched the HABOTN on March 1, 2006, at 6:36 p.m., as a vehicle to provide readers a way to interact with him and each other on daily posts, thereby leading to thought-provoking commentary by partakers of the blog, where are known individually and collectively as "hotties"; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Tate has posted more than 1,200 items on HABOTN since its inception, leading to more than 1,000,000 comments from Hotties, not including their participation in widely anticipated online chats, known as "Campfires," where many issues of importance to the Hotties are thoroughly vetted; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Tate, with good nature and great patience, tolerated the antics of merry band of Hotties, who have strayed into areas far afield from Auburn University athletics, such as employment issues at Boston College and the threat posed to society by puppets; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Tate has selflessly shared the stage with numerous HABOTN followers by creating the "Ring of Fire," which is a Hall of Fame of HABOTN posters who have exemplified excellence and who, along with the tireless efforts of Mr. Tate, have helped elevate the HABOTN to its place as a world leader in new media; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA,
That with immense pleasure and great pride we commend the HABOTN for its contributions to rational, entertaining discussion of Auburn University athletics and the edification of fellowship among its devotees, and we direct that a copy of this resolution shall be provided to Jay G. Tate as a token of our appreciation and respect.
I hereby certify that the above is a true, correct and accurate copy of Resolution No. 09-182, filed with the Senate of Alabama on April 29, 2009.

A man's got to know his limitations.
eddie...
Same business, 2 doors.
He stepped out of rank, got hit by a tank.
And now he's a chicken no more!
My boss was walking around today singing "He'd headed west 'cause he felt that a change would do him good".
See some old friends, good for the soul.
Monica posted on her FB page a video with that song in the background.
My buddies' cable got turned off in college. I went to their house every day. They had one CD. Seger's greatest hits. When I hear it today I don't know whether to smile or puke.
I think he really only has the one song where I won't change the station - Turn the Page.
Seger is to be enjoyed in moderation. Extreme moderation.
GaTiger ...
You know you use to sing in the hallways at our alma mater, "They do respect her, but ... they love to watch her strut."
Well, maybe one other song, you know the one.
There were a couple of struts I did enjoy watching. That much is definitely true.
GaTiger ...
As I recall ... quite hazily ... there were as an aggregation of musicians that played one night at an STJ function (a talent show?) where your old running mate JC sang "SuperFreak." Were you in that musical collective?
Things I am anxious to see in 09:
1)ElToro
2)McCalebb
3)The Ziemba of 07
4)The QB- Who will it be?
5)A real offensive game-plan with a real OC
6)A Defense that tackles well and plays with desire
7)Jordan-Hare exploding with the passion we all know exists
8)Antonio Coleman bringing the heat off the edge and crushing QB's
9)Auburn fans excited about the team and the future of the program
10)James Willis and Nick Saban shaking their heads in disbelief as an undermanned AU team shocks the Evil Empire to end the season
depressed...
I see much satisfaction in your future.
Jet - Indeed I was, I was tearing up the drumset. We had a killer 3 or 4 song set.
GaTiger ...
Weren't you gonged?
I would love to see Auburn spank Bama in the Iron Bowl this season. While I think depth is going to be an issue, I think we will be good enough to have a chance against anyone. Actually, I am becoming more convinced that we will open the season with a significant winning streak.
Jet - the particular grouping you're thinking of did not play in a talent show, we did a few other school related things but no talent show. So no gong thank you very much.
I would love to see Jan Terri kick Nick Saban in the jimmy this season.
That'd be quite the sight Mikhail.
michael...
You have direct orders to make that happen. That is all.
Yeah. Too bad Jan Terri is in a wheelchair the next six months due to a freak accident at an Indian Leg Wrestling tournament.
A wheel chair is a weapon. Improvise soldier!
Hotties it's 10:20 for me and that's past my bedtime, I have many miles to run in the morning so I need my rest and beauty sleep.
Peace out. I'll hit you later.
later dude
That'd be it for me as well.
Sweet dreams all you crazy hotties.
THE SWINE FLU was just confirmed in my county, Broward County...great
Jhag ...
It's just the flu ... the difference is people are paying attention to it.
Wash your hands. Cover your mouth when you cough and sneeze.
Good night, hot ones.
don't be dissin Seger's Roll Me Away and The Fire Inside, both featuring The Amazing Professor Roy Bittan on piano.
I'm guessing bama had something to do with RED wings winning tonight. All the more reason to HATE BAMA!!!
NoVa - here's your scary penguin
for NoVaTiger and AU1N04
Ovechkin vs MalkinGO PENS!!!
I think I know why Bama fans like Finebaum. He is one of the few people in Alabama who's butt could be kicked by Saban.
On a lighter note, I would like to see Saban against Terry Bowden in a celebrity death match.
good morning Hotties!
time to head to work, but I'll be home around noon, in time to not watch the Pens/Caps. I figure if I don't watch, maybe Pens will win. I'll just listen for the hoped for whoops and hollers from THTjr
almost forgot, the iTunes songe this morning started with one most appropriate for Pens fans. GO PENS!!!
Countin' on a Miracle (Bruce)
4th of July Asbury Park-Sandy (Bruce)
Kentucky Rose (Michael W Smith)
Hello Hurray (Alice Cooper)
God of Wonders (Caedmon's Call)
War (Edwin Starr)
I guess the last one is also fairly appropriate for today - GO PENS!!!
Good morning hotties. I'm about to go on a 15-20 mile bike ride to scout my route for bike to work day. I'll be back in plenty of time of time to rag THT as his Pens are destroyed.
THT, the youtube just proved my point that penguins are evil and must be eliminated.
I intercepted a CD that GaTiger was going to play today ...
I Love You, You Love Me (Barney)
Doin' the Pigeon (Bert)
When You Wish Upon a Star (J. Cricket)
Over the Rainbow (Judy Garland)
My Favorite Things (Julie Andrews)
A Woman in Love (Barbra Streisand)
Good Morning, Hotties! It's the weekend!
Jet, you made me LOL with that last post. :-)
I just rolled out of bed...I need COFFEE!!
Luv ...
Just finished my 2nd cup of coffee and a biscuit with Conecuh sausage (I grilled some last night) and honey.
Now, I'm ready for the day.
Luv- I'm proud of you for sleeping in. Me, I'm starting my 3rd hour of work :-(. I will get a reprieve at noon. Tomorrow is the uncomfortable double shift.
Jet- the fact that you didn't really intercept such a CD but actually know those song titles is quite disturburbing. My extraordinary opinion of you just took a hit.
especially a Streisand song. Ugh.
THT ...
I'm crushed. Devastated.
Believe me, THT, it took me a minute to come up with that one.
Here's the back story. In 11th grade, I transferred to the high school where I met GaTiger. Because I was carless, there was a guy with whom I rode to school my junior year. He was, ahem, a Striesand fan.
After school, he drove home several other kids, and our path took us by GaTiger's house. It always seemed that he would be playing that song as we passed GaTiger's house.
GaTiger doesn't know the story of this song, but he does play a small role on it. What a putrid song.
Jet - that sounds legit. I can see how such scars would be forever branded in your memory. My confidence in you is restored.
Good Morning Hotties. Still raining here in North Alabama. Guess it's a good day to clean house. Not sure any day is a good day for that, but it must be done. :-(
Kathy ...
Just talked to my bro in Huntsville, he says they've had 4 inches of rain in the last 24 hours at his house. No neighborhood yard sale today.
Same here in Madison Jet. My dog isn't too happy that her play yard looks like a swimming pool right now. Of course, she loves the water, so there is lots of toweling down when she comes in. And that wonderful smell of wet dog!
According to Goldberg, DeAngelo Benton has been cleared by the NCAA and will enroll at AU this summer.
Going through summer workouts with the team and acclimating to life at AU prior to fall camp = A good thing.
Great news Hoopie!!!
On the Huge-O-Meter, that's a 10. Hoopie.
We need help at WR badly.
Good morning hotties good mid day THT.
Thanks for the good news Hoopie.
Will the limo's keep rolling until May 31???
