The Let's-Do-Spring-Practice-Again (LDSPA) team
WEDNESDAY MORNING
Post No. 1,196
Hey everyone. Nice work on yesterday's thread. We closed in on the HABOTN comment record before I succumbed to comment anxiety. They make stuff for that. I don't have any.
Since we spent (some) time yesterday talking about spring practice "winners," let's talk about some guys who may not have fond memories of the past month.
SIDE NOTE: As you know, I have no problem being critical of Auburn when I think Auburn makes mistakes. I don't think this UCLA thing is a big deal. ESPN tried to make a love connection there and the Auburn administration wasn't feeling it. So what? Auburn deserved all the hell it endured back in 1999 when itbegged bought out its game against Florida State. This is a completely different deal. Plus, when did UCLA become so prestigious that no program in its right mind would turn down a home-and-home invitation?

Hey everyone. Nice work on yesterday's thread. We closed in on the HABOTN comment record before I succumbed to comment anxiety. They make stuff for that. I don't have any.
Since we spent (some) time yesterday talking about spring practice "winners," let's talk about some guys who may not have fond memories of the past month.
- Barrett Trotter: Days after learning he wasn't a finalist for The Job, Trotter tears an ACL during a non-contact drill. That's a double whammy only Philip Pierre-Louis can fully appreciate. Trotter has a bright future, but that clearly won't begin until 2011. Surely the top 2009 quarterback will keep his job into 2010. Right?
- Ryan Shoemaker: The team's only scholarship punter was hoping to get his job back. Clinton Durst punted better last season, became the starter and acted a fool in January by trying to strong-arm the coaching staff into giving him a scholarship. Shoemaker's window of opportunity slammed on his fingers, though, because Durst apparently was the better kicker again this spring. He also is still here despite not having a scholarship. The depth chart can change in a heartbeat, but Shoemaker clearly is losing relevance.
- Mario Fannin: Did he perform poorly? No. Did he sulk about not being a tailback? No. Still, I don't think Fannin is thrilled about his (apparent) role on this team. He spent most of spring ball working at inside receiver and only moonlighted at tailback once Eric Smith was lost with a leg injury. Fannin was productive as a receiver at A-Day, so this story could have a happy ending. I just don't think this is what Fannin was hoping to see.
- Chris Todd: Shoulder surgery limited him throughout spring practice. I never saw him throw a single pass. The senior became a bystander as Kodi Burns and Neil Caudle made meaningful first impressions with new offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn. Can Todd get back in the race? It's possible. He's supposed to be "healthy" in time for summer workouts and will have a chance to prove himself in two-a-days. Is it too late? I think it is.

All I have is a piece of hard rock candy. But it's not for eatin'. It's just for lookin' through.
JGT has a runaway train on his hands.
Go PENS!!!
Yepp. Good luck slowing it down.
Speaking of Draft, I saw one projection of Sanchez going 13th to Washington. I guess they are getting close to giving up on Jason.
On another note, Hulu at work is great. Re-watching the Family Guy right now is great with "A Bag of Weed" song blaring.
quick A day question..what were Kodis rushing numbers? never heard them..did he have to scramble much?
Jay GT- once again, your expert analysis is greatly appreciated
Thanks, THT.
I'm not sure that the Redskins organization is competent at all in making personnel decisions. Campbell has played well, at times, for them, they should continue to improve the offensive line and get him some help. Instead they will waste more money on another QB prospect...I'm glad that's not my team.
Hulu. I know nothing about it.
Why would UCLA not want to play a home and home?
THT watch where you put that "!"
Wow, a ghost appearance.
Does anyone else smell Cabbage?
I smell something, I'm not sure it's cabbage though...
Does anyone really care that Alabama has 12 "National Championships" outside of the crimpszhon faithful? I bet Michigan and Notre Dame fans sit there and worry about it all the time. I bet Florida fans get down on themselves, because as good as they've had it lately, they don't have 12...
just watch Chris Todd come back in August and prove us all wrong....
too bad Shoemaker has struggled. you can't get a better name for a kicker, can you?
I would love for Chris Todd to comeback and be all the things TF said he would be...I just think thoughts like those make for better Twilight Zone episodes, than for reasonable football discussion.
Let's Do it Again ...
The movie that gave us "Biggie Smalls."
And "Bootney Farnsworth."
Jay, you really thing Barrett Trotter has the makings of a star?
I'm not sure Sanchez will be a better answer for the Skins than Campbell, but it's not like Jason's 170 yards passing per game is setting the NFL on fire either.
Oh yeah? Well; "Mother, Jugs and Speed."
Nobody said UCLA was the level of a school you couldn't turn down.
However, did Arkansas State or UTC become the level of school you can't reschedule or cancel?
Seanzie, i don't expect him to, but i was wrong a lot last year. it would be nice to see the kid be able to go at 100% at least once.
RK, I think he was making the point, why would UCLA turn down the home and home...
Trotter has skills, yes. He's in a tough spot now.
I see what you're saying, RK, but I still don't think UCLA is a team for which you blow up the schedule. Maybe that's just me.
Scarbinsky thinks Auburn made a mistake here. I respect his opinion as well. I just don't agree.
What kinds of skills?
I for one am tired of all the #$&) AU is getting over the UCLA thing. We have Clemson on the schedule.
This thing is still a biz. Can't just give away a home date for the "exposure". Too many radio talking heads with nothing to say complaining about it.
Mad skills, Jet, Mad baller skills.
I don't have a problem with dropping this FSU game, either.
Sure, we deserved the hell, but, it was a small price to pay to prevent the sanctimonious Bowden clan have fun on national TV.
Shoot, we're still paying his son, aren't we? That ought to be enough.
I say ... well, I can't say it.
unless JCam has a better year, he may be on the way out of Washington soon.
Jay as a Man U fan, what is your prognosis for the Champion's League matchup with Arsenal?
He has an accurate arm, good mobility and is less panicky than expected.
Man U > Arsenal.
I must add, though, that watching Arsenal play is enjoyable. It's quality football. I'm glad they rid themselves of Thierry Henry. Flopper.
i wonder if fannin's performance at a-day may have calmed any fears he has about how he will be used. he looked pretty good to me. it may be the fact the coaches already know he an play tailback. they just want to refine him as a pass catcher and route runner to make him doubly hard to defend. can a LB cover him on a pass route? no. can a DB tackle him without help? not usually. i kind of liken it to someone who has always had a automatic transmission has to learn out to drive stick in their new sports car.
Chip, you're right, he's a mismatch nightmare. That may be one of the best things going for us next year. That and McCalebb's ridiculous speed.
how to drive that is...
i don't know how to type today.
I wouldn't see it as blowing up the schedule.
I just hope it doesn't burn us down the road if ABC/ESPN has a long memory and the opportunities for them to hook us up with a big time game might get passed by.
One bad thing about dropping FSU from the schedule is the 2nd game of the series in 2000 would have been a really good game once we had Rudi...instead we played Northern Illinois.
RK, Disney are good people, they don't hold grudges.
I sent Curtis Luper a message suggesting he gets Lattimore and Seastrunk on an official visit together and bring them in the same room and show them videos of Felix Jones and Dmac together and Ronnie Brown and Cadillac together and he said " thanks!!! I'm all over it!"
I thought I would be pestering him with fan mail..
RK ...
I remember that game. Travaris Robinson still can't cover Justin McCareins. Thankfully, we got ahead early.
I disagree about the Florida State game comment. The contest was put together as a made for t.v game pitting Father bowden against Terry. To erase the memory of the bowden era and to aid the weakest Auburn team fielded until the 09 team, i dont think we really deserved the 'hell'.
Also Jay, does CGC have OCD>
Dear Leader- I may be slow but I'm not very bright. I had to scroll back and figure out your comment. LOL! GO PENS!
Justin McCariens probably had 150+ yards receiving in that game. For some reason I thought it was Rodney Crayton who was on him most of the game.
Either way he got his yards and we were sleepwalking through another game.
THTjr will be at Boleyn Ground on May 24 to watch his beloved but painfully mediocre West Hamsters (he hates when I call them that) take on Middlesbrough.
ESPN and Auburn have a long-standing and prosperous, symbiotic relationship. This UCLA situation won't affect that.
that coming from an ESPN insider ;-)
ESPN wants to make money. Auburn wants to make money. This relationship will not change due to hurt feelings.
THT, I'm jealous.
I really want to visit Fratton Park, Portsmouth's home ground, and I don't see how that ever will happen.
Well since Jay G. is in constant contact with ESPN, I'll drop it despite feeling like it was the wrong move. (Maybe it's the ticket buyer in me just wanting more value for my buck.)
Speaking of ticket buying, I just picked up tickets to see the Allman Brothers Band and Widespread Panic in Birmingham.
Jay GT- it's a birthday present. The plane ticket to London cost $114 (taxes); I can't believe I finally got to use some freq. flyer miles.
jgt, i've seen some news about andre wadley on the pay sites. any news to report on him?
Lucky you THT. I'm really wanting to make it to Old Trafford. My brother has made it there and I will someday.
I would just love World Cup action to come to the South if USA wins the bid.
Jhag, the recruiting guru! nice work.
Allman Bros withou Dicky Betts...been there, done that. Not my cup of tea.
THTjr is the lucky one. He's going solo. I'll be working, as usual.
where are the bids for the next world cup?
i was going to bed at 6PM and waking up at 2AM and watching games until i had to be at work at 8 when it was in japan & korea.
germany was much more manageable.
Andre Wadley? Really? I saw him once.
PM asked that his info from undercover not be reposted and i'm trying to respect that request. wadley was mentioned.
scottatl ...
Buying out of a big game for a little game with the back story earns you a little hell. It's OK.
I would have made the same decision. I counted the cost, and it wasn't that high of a price to pay.
Our side wins on the UCLA issue, rk! Jay G is on our side! Suck it!
I heard that Wadley may be done with football for medical reasons. He might have to take a medical redshirt. I think it is a loss because we could have used him on the DL but that does free up a scholly for more OL if this is true.
High five, Michael!
THT,
Dickey Betts is missed, but Derek Trucks is amazing so I've never seen a bad ABB show with or without Betts.
The UCLA issue is a big deal if your vision for AU football is to have a nation wide appeal. If not, Clemson is a great for the local attraction of recruits.
2010 World Cup- South Africa
2014 World Cup- Brazil
2018 & 2022World Cup- see below:
Nine individual nations registered their intention to bid with FIFA by the February 2009 deadline: Australia, England, Indonesia, Japan, Qatar, Mexico, Russia, South Korea, and the United States. Additionally Belgium and the Netherlands registered to bid together, as have Portugal and Spain.[4] FIFA confirmed the list of bidders in March, with South Korea and Qatar bidding for 2022 only.[5] It had been widely reported that Egypt had registered an intention to bid, it was indeed alluded to on the FIFA website, but the president of the Egyptian Football Association denied that any more than an enquiry in principle had been made.[6
I still think you guys are wrong, and since I'm the guy with an avatar of a cartoon coyote holding a sign that says "genius", then I must be right.
If Auburn wants to start playing football in a big time recruiting ground, I would start getting games lined up in Texas, especially with this staff's connections to the area.
i'm with you RK, and I am the only other genius on here. 2 genius' can't be wrong
Genius, or madness? Coyote never did catch the Roadrunner...
rk, it is cool you have supporters, but yall lost. Condolences. I am sure some people thought the Titanic was the perfect ship even after it sank. Keep flying that flag, fellas!
Talked to Caudles old coach the other day. He was at the A-Day and Thursday practice. He says the job is Caudles hands down. Feels that they want to wait to make sure they keep Kodi in the fold. They don't really have a plan B if Kodi bolts.
JGT, he also told a story of why Trooper Taylor wears his hat backwards. If you can verify it is a great story and changed my thoughts of him in that regards. I thought he was justing being cool but not so.
I'm stupid and I'm right.
No, he did catch the roadrunner, but he angered network executives by not going after Bugs Bunny the year before when they offered him up so the networks never aired the episode where he caught the Roadrunner. The world was robbed of this great feat and ACME stock continued to fall since the episode never aired.
So you see my concern about networks.
To clarify my position since I lie a lot, I think we should have scheduled UCLA, but I believe there will be no negative ramifications or unrealized successes that will result from us not playing them. Just would have been a fun game.
And I have beerhat Jan Terri on my side, and she is always right!
RK, you just made that up. Coyote never had the skillz to matchup with the Roadrunner.
tigercowboy - I recall a few weeks ago people talked to people close to Trotter who said it was his job hands down. Also, my dad was convinced it was a conspiracy that I was not starting tailback on my 7th grade team.
Just saying, I think Caudle's ex coach knows about as much as us.
Who is Lattimore's leader? Anyone know?
look at your avatar AU104
Don't you downgrade Wile E. Coyote, he was a 5 star prospect according to Rivals and Scout. He had more than enough skillz to catch that Roadrunner, but he just didn't get the proper coaching because he went through a lot of coordinators.
i think tony franklin may have been a ACME product.
he sure blew up in tubby's face.
Thx chip. I just saw the headline but did not see who it was
At that point last year, I think Tub might have been the ACME product and nothing he was doing was working properly and the whole team emploded.
It could be that way. I am not saying nothing about nothing only passing on info. He may be to close to see it any other way. He said that Caudle's injury was that he got ear holed on both sides by AC and someone else. They met in the middle, the problem was Caudle was the middle.
UCLA = No big deal, just an ego thang.
Im convinced its AUBURN.
Only 10 months before we know for sure. I can hardly wait.
No doubt tigercowboy, I would have also relayed that info to the Hotties if I had a convo with that coach. Just giving my two cents on what it all means.
I don't get the ego thing part.
The Roadrunner was underrated from the get go, his raw speed and elusivness should have at least got him 4 stars. Methinks Coyote was just media hype and overrated.
Look who landed himself on the front page of ESPN college football...
http://espn.go.com/college-football/
Michael,
He is a head coach down here in the Mobile area so he is in the a little bit of the "loop". He loves CGM and even sent his staff to Tulsa when he was there. That can't be a bad thing on recruiting. He also said he can see the talent level is off compared to a couple of years ago. He thinks Tubs and company had not done a very good job at all stocking up. Again his opinion.
That's good if that's true.
I'll bet Schlabach got some really interesting and informative quotes out of Chizik.
Also Justin Albert will be the real deal before it is said and done. Very strong and tough back.
If you are nervous about this UCLA thang just remember what confucious said
"Mn who scratch butt should not bite fingernails.
Turning this game down was no biggy. But ci=ontinuing to schedule lower D1 teams and Div II will not put Auburn where I would like to seem them. It would be just as easy to chedule the Texes A&M's Baylor's Virginia's or such ilk and have a fair chance of winning.
Im suprised to see Chizik on the front page of espn college football...that article didn't mention the freak coaching staff or recruiting though..bummer
We should CUT Dax Dellenbach's scholarship and give it to former 4-star Phelon Jones who wants to transfer..we don't have room for him =(
Well I think a guy like Schlabach doing a follow-up to his original firestorm piece he started is a huge win. And look at that RK, we're on the front of page of ESPN CFB. Score one more for Roadrunner, :).
Well it could be worse everyone.
You could be Mitch Mustain who was going to USC to be a QB and is riding pine...again.
Todd's situation isn't nearly as bleak as I thought it would be with him not competing in the spring. It is apparent that Malzahn hasn't found the QB he was looking for, so I do think Todd has a shot.
The thing is, before spring practice, Todd seemed to indicate he would be ready to throw some balls sometime in the spring. Apparently his arm isn't progressing as rapidly as he had hoped. A healthy Todd will have a good shot at being the starter. I am just not sure he will truly be healthy.
Chizik reminds me of John McKay with his witty answers.
Steve, you should call up Todd and have him meet you at the local carwash. Let us know when he can throw the ball through it without the ball getting wet.
jhag, what did Dax do to justify taking his scholarship?
Nobody loves the long snapper until you have one that keeps snapping it over the punters head.
Or screws up the snap for a game winning field goal...
Agreed Tigercowboy.
Davis arrested Sunday

Rising sophomore Enrique Davis was arrested at the Exchange early Sunday morning while at a party at Jerrell Powe’s apartment. Powe, a junior, received a citation for a noise violation.
According to the police report, officers were dispatched to the Exchange following a noise complaint where a Hummer was driving around the parking lot sounding its horn. Upon arrival, loud music was heard coming from the second floor of Powe’s apartment building.
The officer approached Powe and took his identification. On the way back to his patrol vehicle, a young black male, later identified as Enrique Davis, made a comment that the officer could not understand, the report said.
The officer requested Davis hand over his identification, but Davis looked at the officer with a “shunning face,” according to the report.
The report said the officer then requested Davis’ identification several more times and Davis started to walk towards the stairwell and gave the officer a “crazy face” when confronted about walking away. The officer grabbed Davis’ left elbow to stop him, but Davis pulled away from the officer, who then put him up against the stairwell and placed him in custody for disorderly conduct and failure to comply, the report said.
Once Officer Zachary White had placed Davis into the patrol car, he returned to address the noise violation concerning Powe. According to the report, while White wrote the citation for a noise violation, Powe said, “Zachary White, I got you. I’ll remember that.”
White asked if Powe would read the bottom of the citation and sign it to ensure he would show up in court, but Powe stated he could not read and would not sign, the report said.
The officer informed Powe that he did not need to sign and he would issue the citation regardless. Powe finally read the citation information and signed and was released afterwards.
Davis rushed for 244 yards last season and three touchdowns as a true freshman. Davis tallied 17 yards on five carries in the spring game. Davis is competing with Devin Thomas and Cordera Eason for the backup role to rising sophomore Brandon Bolden in the backfield.
Powe made his long awaited debut last season and finished the season with eight tackles, 3.5 for loss and one interception on the year.
Unanswered Prayers???
As for Dax, I think he needs to add about 90 pounds and become a real lineman. At the moment, linemen are the main thing for us.
when it comes to salad bars, forget the "sneeze shield." Absence of bacon bits should be illegal.
Jhag even if Phelon Jones did come to AU, we could not contribute until next year. I think the coaches like the prospects that we are looking at better than Jones. More upside giving that scholly to a freshman.
RK for the record I agree with you on the UCLA thing. I dont think it hurts us for not doing it but I did see it as an opportunity for some much needed positive pub and national recognition.
Davis appears to be a head case.
National recognition going on @ espn.com as we speak.
Question is what will Nutt do with the Headcase..
Looks like I may have one less extra Iron BOwl ticket to unload. Just realized that, effective Sept., we will be one person "fat" on Wed & Fri each week, allowing a day off those days. Guess who just jumped on Nov 27! So quitting my job (which I consider a legitimate option) may not be required after all for me to get to the IB.
DL, Nutt will put him on the field if he thinks it gives best W-L record
Thanks JGT for the follow up I think we can all agree there are a lot of questions to be answered before the first kickoff. Hope we get some good answers.
So Powe can or cannot read?
I can't read either. I had to hire someone to sit beside me and read HABOTN posts
Yes, he can read.
JGT..
I also was confused. This adds further mud to the water:
He (Powe) actually sued the university at one point, asking to be granted admission to school. One of the documents filed by his attorneys included a statement from Powe's mother that read: "Jerrell really is a good child, but he just can't read. Please give him this chance to attend Ole Miss."
And this guy's in college?
About the UCLA thing--I'm not sure why AU's been getting grief about it. They already have a BCS non-conference opponent for 2009 in WVU. What other SEC school has two BCS non-conference games?
None as far as I know. Plus, the AU admin types didn't exactly say "no," they said yes, but not this year.
Wile E. Coyote = S. Pybus
Roadrunner = Eltoro
Or maybe Tre Smith and Kenny Irons
I've got Powe signed up for the next session at Derek Zoolander Center for Kid's Who Can't Read Good and Want to Learn to do Other Stuff Good Too.
Jason ...
For fans, it's bruised ego. We want to think we'll play "anyone anytime" even if there is a strategy not to do it.
For the media, it's a gimme column or segment on a talk show. Slamming someone is the easiest thing in the world for a member of the media to do. They practically have it written in their heads -- just change out the names and places.
Jet- I hope you don't mind if I pretend that's a pumpkin. I hate onions like bama.
Whatever helps you sleep at night, THT.
Wow we are on the front page of ESPN CFB in late April.
To quote Navin Johnson in "The Jerk" when he saw his name in the phone book "I'm somebody now! Millions of people look at this book everyday! This is the kind of spontaneous publicity - your name in print - that makes people. I'm in print! Things are going to start happening to me now."
I think a septoplasty would help, but I'm a big chicken.
Same here THT. Chickened out of that surgery twice
Well you know that Houston Nutt has officially arrived in Oxford when players develop attitude problems and the police are involved.
This happened on a daily basis at Arkansas.
Call me when we are on the front page of ESPN.com when we play Ark State, UTC, La Tech, etc.
The only way you get any attention those weeks is if you lose.

Smoke and a Pancake? Cigar and a Waffle? Pipe and a Crepe? Bong and a Blintz? Front page of ESPN anytime? No...then there's no pleasing you.
Nutt is the man. Fear the Nutt.
"Smoke and a Pancake? Cigar and a Waffle? Pipe and a Crepe? Bong and a Blintz? Front page of ESPN anytime? No...then there's no pleasing you."
I have no idea what any of that means.
Actually 99% of the time I'm a pretty happy person...including right now.
I heard some news from PM that I won't repeat, but if anyone else wants to talk about, go ahead...yeah, that annoys me. What's the point, exactly?
The likelihood is that an Auburn-UCLA game doesn't make the front page of ESPN.com ... it makes the college football front.
What's the latest with the Yankees/Red Sox/whoever makes the front page.
Playing UCLA wouldn't change that unless Trooper strangled someone for a violation of team rules -- "No drops!"
nah. just being respectful to him and AUundercover.
if i was PMarsh, i wouldn't be getting a fat unemployment check every week with $25 kicker from prez obama.
RK, it's a bit from Austin Powers...I'm not just making up drivel...at least I hope I'm not.
Personally, I make up every bit of my drivel.
Sadly Jet, I'm not original enough to do that, so I just steal mine from others who are far more talented than I.
I make nothing up, Mr. U and I have the same script writer.
Sean,
I was prevaricating my keester off. I purloin what I deem to be witty repartee from cinema, literature, and elsewhere and use it as my own -- without citation.
In other words, I "Jeff Burger" it.
I mean, plagiarize it.
I thought the new term was I "Carlos Mencia-ed" it.
Somebody ask Pat Dye if Burger ever got cured from his case of plagiarism.
Jet - that's pretty much how you've lived your entire life isn't it? Not just your HABOTN life right? In other words, I always suspected you were full of it and so did Marian.
There's a good Pat Dye story to share about "play-gur-ism."
I missed the Auburn reference, there Jet, the pains of being a newbie.
GaTiger,
I actually killed someone and assumed their identity.
Unfortunately, the dude was an idiot.
If that "dude" was someone from back in the day, I can think of more than a few meeting that descriptor.
Percy Harvin tested positive for weed during the combine.
He didn't do himself any favors during his time there.
Ahhh Jet what does man really want out of life, good friends and sex, well behaved children and sex, a good faithful wife and sex, be able to go golfing when the desire hits hem and sex, go to all of Auburn's football games and sex enough maney to make life fun and sex. Anthing else and sex.
Confucius also said
"Wife who put husband in doghouse soon find him in cathouse".
and to beat bama repeatedly about the head & neck until no longer recognizable.
I hate bama.
Digger - according to a great American, Hank Williams Jr. it's all about "Good friends, good whiskey, and good lovin'." As is often the case, I can't argue with his logic.
True and sex
I agree also and he did his share of all.
What has Dax done wrong hmmm...he's 3rd on the depth chart behind two walk on longsnappers, doesn't sound to me he needs a scholarship...only reason he got an offer is cause of his dad the former NFL player
I'll take a beating of bama any day over whiskey. You can't count on Hank to be right all the time.
Hank knew women
even wrote a song about them
Your cheating heart will tell on you.
where's LUV been today?
No telling
if I had to guess, she's allowing work to interfere with HABOTN duties
I like beating UAT as much as the next guy/gal. I also hate UAT as much as anyone. But, offhand, I'm struggling to find where Hank's been wrong. Towit: "If the South woulda won we'd have had it made."
gatiger - we ain't lost yet. Just a temporary setback. We'll be back in 4 years. Just ask SteveFC
our state has been overrun with immigrants from up north. I fear they will have a more poisonous effect on our society than the therapeutic effect we should have on them.
most of them won't touch grits
Hank williams jr is a bama homer and a drunk, and a woman beater. Great american ? He also conveys the feelings of the redneck with laser like precision. Lucky to be hank sr's son, otherwise he'd be workin the extruder in the milk jug plant in demopolis.
If we took a close enough look at their personal lives, not many musicians would have any fans. I love Hank Jr's music. It is pleasing to the ear.
not a real big Hank fan myself..fine for his time I guess...
Jay-saw the pics on FB..are you gonna be at the race?
Thats what pleases your ear? Ever check out any tony joe white? It's the country without all the "neckness". I like some country but none of it i listen to will ever get on the radio. HankIII has some good albums out. Course he's more prescribed to how his grandpa was, and sounds just like hank sr.
Bin - you have some pretty definite opinions. I can only agree with the Bama part. As to some of the other points; he's been clean & sober for years, "woman beater" dismissed for lack of evidence, being "Jr." got him his start & but he's clearly established himself, he's an extremely talented musician (he can play every instrument on his stage very well), given his numerous awards & longevity as a performer I hardly think he'd have to work in a milk factory if he'd had a different father. I'm a fan & I'm far removed from a redneck.
Them's my thoughts.
Now, back to the UCLA discussion...
So is Hank Williams an open racist?
Crap... the top to my worm can just popped open!
I'd really be interested to hear Hank Jr's thoughts on the BC Coaching situation.
I bet he could sing a great song about the BC coaching situation and its influence on JJ's decision not to play UCLA.
Puck - I have it on good authority he's also a big Blue Bell fan. I'm just sayin'.
Hank Jr. had a old song about it -- "Whiskey Bent and B.C. Bound."
gatiger - anybody who isn't must be a communist.
Jet - fairly well done, but I believe it was UAT bound.
In addition to UAT, I also hate Commies.
Crap the top on my beer can just popped opened now I just got to drink it
eat you hesrt put hard workers
Digger, I think you've had enough.
Is one too many ??? "heart"
Dang I missed that on "out"
Yessir, you see my concern.
Uncle is looking out for his fellow man.
I tell you it's this keyboard
It has been UATalized.
missing letters and making up other stuff as it goes
wants to put a 12 in every sentence
Digger, that's a classic.
I notice you managed to avoid the dreaded "RTR" key as well as the spamming of '!'
New classic word UATalized
Got to be careful
RTR
see there it goes again.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The plague has spread.
Wow...new terms to describe Saban... "Don Johnson Reject."
I wasn't "neck profilin" ya gatiger. He just seems dated to me. Surprised to see him discussed and not someone more relevant. I always go all "behind the music" on everybody, i don't wish mr hanky no ill will, he's just a bammer i was messin with.
New Page. Shake N Bake.
