"Don't wait on it, reach in baby." If TT is half as good a coach as he is entertaining, we're set.

Blogger gatiger said...

I like watching that drill.

7:01 PM
Blogger wtc said...

Did you notice the 1st drop and the receiver said something and TT said 'coach, my a**'. I suspect the player tookthe hit and and said like come on coach.

TT seems to be after it in every drill, which I like.

Trooper seems to really enforce that the receivers make no drops....I like that.

7:21 PM
Blogger Monica said...

1. Why does he wear yellow shoes?

2. Love Trooper - REACH AND GET IT!

3. During the Thigpen piece is Jay saying something?

4. Boulware will not accept soft Wood!

5. Love the cam angle on the throws.

6. Jay, Is it a burden being so damn good at writing, photography and videography?

7:27 PM
Blogger j-z said...

Ok...the speakers on my laptop kinda suck. Was it my imagination, or was CTT crying out bi%ch as he was whacking the receivers?

Cause that would be really cool if he was.

Thanks for the spectacular practice updates, JGT.

As usual, your work is exceptional. Don't think we take that for granted, either — 'cause we don't.

Love the yellow shoes!
Love TT and the big hits....NO DROPS!
Love that the backs are LOOKING for the ball!
Love that JayG is our man!
Thanks Jay for all your hard work!!

Blogger chip chip said...

greg knox must have been like my golf coach in high school. he sat in his truck reading the newspaper while we hacked up the public course with no instruction. it showed in our matches and it showed in AU's WRs the last few years. i don't care what the actual talent level is at WR, but i know they will play hard next year or they won't play at all.

7:46 PM
Blogger chip chip said...

as of this comment: no vids up on rivals, scout or undercover or even mention of an AU practice. jgt does it for free here and is #1!

Monica, when describing JGT you left off ncaa basketball pick-em extraordinaire. Damn I wanted that t-shirt. 1st loser sucks.

Man I just knew we'd pick up another commit today. Well I guess not since it's kinda late in the day. Oh well...great job with the vids Jay! What would you say is the biggest difference between the old staff's coaching of the WRs and the new staff? Also who was that getting punished for running the wrong routes?

8:21 PM

From secret reporter at scrimmage:

1. McCalebb "can fly."
2. QBs have a long way to go.
3. McNeil actually hit some people, including a teeth-rattler on Q. Carr.
4. One of hardest hits of the day was Trooper chest bumping Justin Albert.
5. Neiko looked good.
6. Rap and hip-hop filled the stadium during the pre-scrimmage warmup. Troop was bustin' a move.
7. OL looked pretty good. McCain stood out.

8:32 PM
Blogger Wakeriderof87 said...

Agreed ehyou, and no ones sloppy joes are as good as my grandmas. I know your thinking a sloppy joe is a sloppy joe... but your wrong, they are amazing.

8:33 PM
Blogger War Eagle Girl said...

I meant to say HOTTITUDE!

8:33 PM
Blogger Jet Dye said...

ehyou ... Sloppy Joes were tasty.

Now, they were not like the Peppertree filets last night, but they were tasty.

8:33 PM
Blogger Monica said...

"bustin a move" huh?

8:34 PM
Blogger AUBigCat said...

I wonder if DT Nick Fairley will be sent to the OL when he gets here in the Fall. That was the original position he was recruited to AU for back in 2007. Not that the DL is in great shape but someone usually steps up on that side of the ball. Everyone thought the sky was falling when Pat Sims left then Marks stepped up. I'm guessing the same will happen this year.

8:35 PM
Blogger gatiger said...

You gumpians have no idea how fortunate you are to have places like Peppertree there for you. Mrs. Gatiger is instructed to stop there on her regular trips to the gump. I miss that place. I miss that place badly.

8:43 PM
Blogger War Eagle Girl said...

Did everyone see that Coach Pawlowski's daughter went home from the hospital?

8:49 PM
Blogger tigerfan44 said...

War Eagle Girl, is it that obvious.
I don't think it will get me anywhere, do you.

8:52 PM
Blogger Jet Dye said...

When I went to the check out with my filets and a small carton of pimiento cheese, the guy in front of me had a slab of ribs that smelled heavenly.

The filets were actually on sale, so I thought I didn't get gouged.

8:52 PM
Blogger War Eagle Girl said...

44...yes it is....but that's okay...I'd be whining too but I have a t-shirt!

8:53 PM
Blogger gatiger said...

Gouged or not, that place is worth absolutely every penny.

8:56 PM
Blogger Jay G. Tate said...

I roll by Peppertree daily and never once do I wonder what could be if I spent the compulsory $50 in there.

9:03 PM
Blogger Jet Dye said...

Jay G,

That's because you spend money on Rock Band, Frogger and Ms. PacMan.

9:04 PM
Blogger War Eagle Girl said...

jay, I've never been either but thought about...does that count?

9:05 PM
Blogger War Eagle Girl said...

maybe jet will treat us to dinner sometime?!

9:06 PM
Blogger gatiger said...

Family game time would be so much more enjoyable after a fine home cooked meal. The staple of which is some fine steaks from Peppertree.

Kathy really should be paying me...

Jet, Is the appendage a furrener?

9:36 PM
Blogger Jet Dye said...

I'm not a Braves fan ... became anti-Braves after all the bandwagon stuff in the 1990s. I've been an A's fan for the longest, but I do pull for the Rays since the Biscuits are in the Gump.

Fact is, I like baseball, but I don't love it. As for the NBA, it could fold tomorrow, and it wouldn't bother me.

College hoops I love.

9:38 PM
Blogger Jet Dye said...

The appendage is Prattvegan "Bammer."

9:38 PM
Blogger j-z said...

I was done with MLB after the last strike, but the Biscuits and the Rays have sucked me back in a little. I'll also be following the Las Vegas 51's this year since I have a cousin who will be in the starting rotation there this year.

9:42 PM
Blogger Monica said...

What is a Biscuit?

9:43 PM
Blogger Jet Dye said...

It is baked dough, often stuffed with cheese, butter, or Coneuch sausage.

9:44 PM
Blogger Monica said...

I want one.

9:45 PM
Blogger Jet Dye said...

Monica ...

The Biscuits are the Gump's minor league baseball team. If you are in the River Region this summer, you need to check them out. Great ball park.

9:46 PM
Blogger Jet Dye said...

Great hoops quote from Jay Bilas ... just said this on SportsCenter.

"A bad shot is the first pass on your opponent's fast break."

9:49 PM
Blogger Monica said...

I hope I get see a game. I totally don't get why anyone would name their team the Biscuits.

9:50 PM
Blogger Monica said...

I don't think I'd put oysters on top of fried green tomatoes and Mexican.

9:52 PM
Blogger FSJ said...

I think that Bilas is the best basketball commentator around..

Wish CBS could use him for the final four.

9:53 PM
Blogger Jet Dye said...

Minor league teams have goofy names. They had a contest to name the team. I suggested "Fire Ants," but Biscuits was the winner. I hated it until I saw the blue hat.

Got to and check out the gear. The blue hat rules.

9:53 PM
Blogger Jet Dye said...

My dream Final Four announcing team would be Verne, Raft and Bilas.

9:54 PM
Blogger j-z said...

Big thanks again to all the Hotties who supported my efforts with Relay for Life. I hit my goal of $3500.00 tonight. With some more money that hasn't worked through the system yet, I'll be about $100 short of $4k. Thank you all...I'm humbled by the response. The cherry on top is that I'm back on top of the leader board ahead of a bammer chick.

9:58 PM
Blogger Monica said...

That's awesome, JZ. Congrats.

10:00 PM
Blogger ehyoutiger said...

How anyone can enjoy Raftery is beyond me. He is a human gimmick.

10:05 PM
Blogger ehyoutiger said...

Lundquist and Bilas now, they're genuinely good.

10:07 PM
Blogger Jet Dye said...

Colorful without being a coach pimp ... analyzes, but not as much as Bilas, who is the best.

I love Bobby Knight in the studio, and I can't stand him personally.
