Big Cat Weekend
Hey everyone. We discussed earlier today that you would be impressed with the players Auburn would bring to campus in a few weeks.
Well, make it this week.
Auburn is in the midst of what it calls "Big Cat Weekend" and gobs of the country's top prospects are on campus.
Here is a partial look:
TB Lache Seastrunk, 5-star (Rivals and Scout), ESPN 150 watch list
TB Marcus Lattimore, 5-star (Rivals and Scout), ESPN 150 watch list
WR Trovon Reed, Scout.com 5-star; Rivals.com 4-star, ESPN 150 watch list
WR Jeremy Richardson, Rivals.com 4-star; Scout.com 3-star
WR Antonio Goodwin, Rivals.com 4-star (unclassified by Scout)
WR Demarco Cobbs, ESPN 150 watch list
LB Kahiri Fortt, Rivals.com 4-star (unclassified by Scout)
DE J.C. Copeland, Rivals.com 4-star (unclassified by Scout) **Tenn. commit**
OT James Stone, 4-star (Rivals and Scout), ESPN 150 watch list
OG Eric Mack, 4-star (Rivals and Scout), ESPN 150 watch list
That's an impressive group. Yes.

actually, it's pretty early. When countdown is at 7:42
Good morning, JayGT,
I hope you enjoyed the match. Was the crowd loud and/or rowdy? Was the stadium as nice as it looks on their web site?
Have a safe trip home.
Did anyone catch the Texas-BC baseball game in the tournament?
25 innings. Texas finally won, 3-2.
Here are some pics of Toomer's Corner last night.
Rolling Toomer's
More pics from Toomer's:
Big Cat Weekend
If that event was in Tuscaloosa, there would have been 10,000 people there at least.
You guys are pathetic.
Saban has recruiting on lock and you guys are grasping at straws.
Salsa, if Saban and Bammer are so far above Auburn, why are you here?
Big Cat....thanks for the pics......chest bumps for all.
Sorry, that was a Mr. Sensible response.
What I really meant was that if that event was in Cheataloosa, cousin pregnancies would triple.
LOL, Sensi. Your loathing of UA-T is admirable.
and if it was held in tuscaloosa as a fundraising benefit, those 10,000 people would raise about $371.00.
Good point, Scott.
Thanks, THT.
No prob Hoopie. I think I messed up that first link so I'll try again.
Rolling The Corner
thanks to salsa schmuck for affirming AU is on the right track.
the Costanza Principle is at work.
whatever bammers' natural instincts are, the opposite must be true.
if bammer had 10,000 people show up that means at least half would be rouge boosters and the other half would be ncaa investigators.
they could take recruits on a tour of the graveyard across the street from the stadium.
thanks for the link. i'm sensing some excitement....
I'm glad Salsa takes time out his day to entertain us. Really, it's appreciated.
So does everyone feel like our "grasping at straws" party was good and if so what do you all think the ultimate results will be?
in actuality, they would be rogue rouge boosters ;-)
Sean- I think it is FANtastic. But I have no idea what the end result will be. I'm certainly hopeful, though.
I like the energy and the effort of this staff.
They aren't hung up on what people say, etc.; they are trying to move the program forward.
Earlier I posted that the Kodi Kodi Kodi chant was interesting to me. IN explanation, I think he is very popular among teammates and I am wondering if he's the odds on favorite now since he was the one there.
What do you all think?
I don't think that will have much bearing on who's under center...if he makes the the throws and shows good knowledge of the offense, then he will start.
omg he really DID say "Nick Saban you're SOL!"
LMAO
That made my week!
Lots of folks saying give 'em a week's notice and they'll be there for next year's BIG CAT WEEKEND. LOL Love it.
He said, "Tell Nick Saban he SOL. Ha ha ha."
That's funny.
Salsa lied again. Actually what Jessel Curry said when asked if he was still committed to WVU was, "Kind-of. I'm still visiting other colleges and my visit to Auburn was wonderful.
"It was different than any other visit I've been on. It was a completely different experience. It was a lot of fun."
However, it is more than a little delicious that our Big Cat Weekend has made shark's fin go limp.
BigCat,
Thanks for the photo links.
Looked like a good turnout for a summer weekend night in Auburn.
During the summer terms, the town is awful quite. That was an impressive indeed considering that.
What kind of pill does one take for a "limp fin," I wonder?
Hmmmm...meth?
I want to know what the impetus is for our beloved Shark to come and spit his diarrhea of the keyboard on our blog. I have no desire nor want to tread anywhere Bama themed. I just don't care enough, I guess.
Anyways, what are the possibilities of both Seastrunk and Lattimore? Wouldn't that be a bit crowded? Or are the coaches wanting either/or?
I remember when they were recruiting me. They gathered a whole bunch of art/architecture students around Toomer's and screamed my name. It was great.
Sean I dont know what the end result will be as far as commits but I think that Auburn has definately raised the bar for recruiting. This is an interesting article:
Extreme Recruiting"I do think the idea will catch fire and you'll see other schools do similar things," said Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby SmartIf our coachs are half as innovative on Saturdays as they are in the off season, these next few years could be very special.
These types of things our coaches are doing may not yield immediate results but it's a marathon not a sprint, signing day is still a long way off.
Mon, you can't mean a Bambi would lie. I am shocked. I think Salsa showing up is just another good indication of how this weekend went. Yea, Big Cat weekend didn't garner any attention:) Hahaha, well, he seems to have been following it closely. Just another example of a cousin humper with a shallow gene pool.
Something like this is more important than just in terms of the recruits that showed up. Those that weren't there have to be wondering what they are missing out on on the plains.
I don't see how even a Bambi would be dumb enough to call this a failure, but never underestimate the stupidity of a Bambi.
Steve, stupid is a strong word. Couldn't we call him ignorant of all things factual and be a little more PC? We wouldn't want to run off Sideshow Shark, would we?
Kids that like will hang around. You know, I really can't blame him. If I were a Bambi I wouldn't want to hang out with a lot of other Bambies either. I would much rather hang out on an Auburn forum because I wasn't concerned about them. Uh, yea, that is the ticket. He was here because he isn't concerned. Really, that is it.
True enough, Steve, true enough.
BigCat,
Thanks for the article link. Clearly, Randy "I Want to Lick Paul Finebaum" Kennedy and his Bammer loving cronies in the statewide media will do all they can to make this not seem like the big deal it is.
Auburn has never had many friends in the media. Nothing new there.
When you have so many high profile athletes on campus at once there is no way it can't have an affect on recruiting. Also keep in mind that some of these kids may already be commitments. Yea, coaches do play games with when recruits announce their commitment.
Thanks for the link, BigCat.
Dear Mr. Finally Sensible. I love the new you. Just had to say it again. Also, you should check your yahoo messenger.
Steve, I'm not worried about it, I don't think most of the Auburn faithful are worried about it. I think our coaching staff has shown some good chops on the recruiting trail.
Big Cat Weekend is 110% good for Auburn and Auburn football. Period.
Period!
Limp Fin...haha. Kudos to MonD for hitting him where it hurts.
Thanks to Big Cat Weekend, and the great reports/video thereof this morning, the Pens loss last night didn't sting so badly. Yes, my priorities are in order. GO AUBURN!!! BEAT BAMA!!! GO PENS!!!
You people just don't understand. Just because the recruits loved it and considered it a success and just because the coaches considered it a success means nothing. What really matters is the comments of a cousin humper. That is what truly matters.
And just because Under Armor All American Eric Mack declared Auburn as his leader this weekend means nothing. It is the comments of cousin humpers that matter.
And just because there was talk between the recruits of all of them playing together at Auburn, that means nothing. Comments of cousin humpers matter the most.
You're right, Steve. How silly of us.
So let's talk about Kodi Burns...is he the guy? Some people seem to think so.
http://www.oanow.com/oan/sports/college/article/watch_toomers_corner_is_rolled_during_big_cat_weekend/74538/
This is sweet, about a minute in Lache Seastrunk says "hey tell Nick Saban he SOL"
And even more impressive is the cousin humper's opinion that Jeremy Richardson sucks. Obviously he must suck because he has an offer from Alabama and everyone knows they suck.
As for Kodi, I am not encouraged by what I have seen so far, but I do think there is a chance that Malzahn and company can make a difference with him. I don't think anyone believes he doesn't have the ability. The issues I have seen with him are all coachable things. He has the potential to be better than any of the other candidates for the starting QB job. He has experiencce and the athletic ability. Let's just hope things start to click with him. I did see a few times last season I thought he was starting to get it.
Good points on Kodi, Steve.
I will say this. In my opinion (which doesn't matter because what do I know), Kodi's biggest issue is dealing with pressure (both from defenders and in his own head).
How can they coach that for him?
Steve....I'm startin' to worry that maybe you know toooo much about cousin humpers..haha.
Our coaches have certainly created serious interest among a talented group of recruits. Seems that these recruits will want to see how this new coaching staff actually coach before committing and that would be understandable.
Auburn and Tenn started this recruiting season in similar situations. Tenn has garnered many more commits so far...I wonder if there is a reason or just circumstance.
Sensi, that is it exactly. One of the things I noticed last season was that he reacted poorly when he wasn't in on every snap. If Todd came in for a series, when Kodi went back out there he didn't play as well. I wish he could get the attitude that we saw on the 2004 team. Ronnie and Caddy were unselfish which is what made them such a success.
There is another example of this with a couple of players in a game against Florida a few years back. I wish I could recall who, but they basically said they were handling their substitutions like a tag team. When one was tired the other would come in.
Players at any position need to realize that if they execute and play smart football the coaches will find ways to get them in the game.
Hoopie, I think this staff is using a different approach. In the past we have attracted top athletes by being selective. For instance, we tell our top runningback prospect that he is the star we want. We even sometimes tell him we won't recruit another runningback or at least not another star.
That is different than the current approach which seems to be to shoot for the stars. Yes, it is risky because you could have all the stars turn you down and not have a backup, but somehow I don't see that happening.
Rumor has it that Kodi had a film study problem....not enough.
Seems to me that Kodi was such a better athlete than others in HS that he got away with poor fundamentals. His fundamentals break down the most when under duress or throwing a short pass. His deep passes are normally sound. His short passes more resembled throwing darts in a bar than passing a football.
I want one of these.
http://tiny.cc/TTx4Q
"Trooper Taylor is the best wide receivers coach in America and a great recruiter. The days of our wide receivers being looked at as a weak link are over." -- Gustav Malzhan, Mobile Press-Register, May 31, 2009.
Hoop,
Kodi's short passes look like me throwing darts, which is even more problematic.
Steve, my guess is that if we win at least 7 games and put well coached teams on the field, the recruits will come.
If I were a top recruit and interested in an attractive, exciting but unproven staff, I would wait to see what kind of teams they put on the field before committing.
Hoopie, you're absolutely right, this recruiting class will be won in the fall and not any time before that.
Yea, I still think 7 wins is probably likely. I went back over it again the other day. I do think there is a two game stretch that will determine the success of this season. That will be the back to back road games against Tennessee and Arkansas. If we win both, we should have a decent season.
That is one of the things I look at when guessing wins. The order of games matter and you can usually pick a couple of games that will be the deciding factor. Sure, there are some must wins like Louisiana Tech, MSU, and the like, but there are a few games that will be good indicators of how far along we are.
Steve,
Chizik has been telling the fan base this and I, for one, am listening and appreciate the realism of it. He knows, just like we realize, this thing will take time to turnaround.
Like I said on 740, just beat Bama. Because like Saban says, "don't you know how much we hate those freaking guys?!?"
Time to work in the yard. Later Hotties!
If we don't win 2 national championships in the next 4 seasons, I will consider it a failure.
13-0 in 2009.
Mon...that's a nice flag. Seems that we will see a lot of them this year...they are out of stock.
Michael, let's revisit the NC vs Beat Bama philosophies as benchmarks of success.
Ok, let's not. But I'd rather beat bama those 4 years.
What up Hotties!! Spent another weekend on Martha's Vineyard..it was a blast! Was looking for a summer job there and found one pretty easily the hard part is finding a place to stay without having to sell a kidney!!
Wow! That a lot of stars going to the plains!!
just had some fresh KK doughnuts. Talk about YUMMY!!!
Michael...you're gone for like...days...and that's all you got?
In between workouts, honeydos and wifey's social calendar, I've been following the Women's Softball College World Series this weekend. Good stuff. ESPN has good camera crews and announcers. The SEC has 3 teams in the final 4.
THT- you like your sweets man! There is a Dunkin Doughnuts every mile here! It is really crazy. The only comparison I can make is it's like Wal Marts in Alabama..only double it!!
wartiger- just be careful on the roads. There are Kennedys driving around there.
Hoopie throws down the flaming spear in front of Michael!
This could be fun.
wartiger- yes, I do have a sweet tooth. But it is quite sophisticated. My sweet tooth would allow me to starve before it allowed intake of a dunkin doughnut.
I much prefer KK over DD, but I'm not militant about it like THT.
I will say this DD has some pretty good coffee -- had it morning ElTurbo and I were in Boston.
I only drink milk (white or chocolate) or DC with my KK. Wifey likes coughee with her KK cruller. Hot beverages make me sweat like a pulpwooder.
was Michael's a hit and run post?
Jet - I'm not that militant. About once every 2 years I'll actually drink the other soda if DC isn't available, Root Beer isn't an option, and the situation demands soda beverage rather than water. Usually, though, I'll just go with water.
Jet....just keeping him on his game. I wouldn't dare try to match wits.
Gotta go for a while...more honeydos.
I am officially hogging the blog. I'm going to take a HABOTN break and work on my other hobby.
Hoopie ...
Try "The Jet Plan." Slip a Benedryl in "Honey's" drink at lunch, and you don't have to "Do" anything the rest of the afternoon.
Just kidding.
Sorry, I have been absent, it will take me some time to get back to my old form.
How about this one for Jay G and Jet and the other Montgomerians:
What is the deal with all the construction in your town? Now I have to go 45 mph on the interstate when passing through, and you got cops every 500 ft? In the past, traveling through Montgomery felt like passing a kidney stone. Now with all the construction, it feels like passing a slightly larger and more jagged kidney stone.
Dunken's coffee has some serious caffeine content. It makes me jittery.
Fresh donuts from KK + milk = win.
I love me some dunkin donuts...I get the coffee and the cinnamon sugar munchkins.
I was hoping for a commitment or 10 to be announced today...
oh well... I guess we can wait.
You want good donuts? Try the Donut King in Eufaula... absolutely the best!
Did you guys know that they have re-opened Daylight Doughnuts in Auburn? Some of you youngsters may not be familiar with that great ole school AU establishment.
Michael, I do think you should at least provide a written excuse from your doctor to justify your absence of late.
Hotties,
Please excuse Michael for his recent absence. He may or may not have been receiving medical care, and I may or may not be his doctor. HIPAA prevents me from elaborating any further.
wow - a real live doctor's excuse
nice
HIPAA in this case means ...
Hiding Illegal Puppet Activity Act
To paraphrase Robert Young...
I'm not a doctor, but I play one on HABTON.
crap, HABOTN
I think the reason dunkin donuts are so popular around here is because of the coffee..I don't really drink coffee..more of an energy drink (Rockstars) fan myself...there's a place on Martha's Vineyard call Backdoor Doughnuts..had a Boston Cream from there at 1:00 in the morning..it was delicious!
Let it be stated, on the record, that I did NOT make any comments about where said puppets may have been found or that, in fact, puppets were in any way connected to the medical condition for which Michael may or may not have been under the care of Dr Habotn.
psssst, Hotties, just between you and me.. if you unsnap the blue skull cap, you'll find the engine is completely run by puppets.
what up with the Chinese thing..I'm scared to click on it..
backdoor doughnuts just sounds unappetizing. I bet they are a source of constipation.
War Tiger,
I'd be very afraid to click on it. It's probably a virus sent to us by the Cousin Humpers.
Overheard that Jessel Curry is no longer committed to WV.
The LB from Buford, GA was at Auburn for BCW.
wartiger, looks like they are links to taiwan web sites. You are wise to stay away. Must be the AU diploma. I bet Salsa shark has already clicked on every one of them.
Xaff,
Jessel Curry from BUFORD, GA.?
Hmmmm.
I thought Backdoor Doughnut was a..ummm..unique name for the place but I couldn't turn down an invite from such a pretty girl and she treated me to that doughnut so I let it go..
Dr.Habotn- I am very honored that you think I would be lucky enough to have a diploma from Auburn but no such luck..I am one of those fans that didn't go to Auburn..thanks for the compliment.
Wartiger there are so many jokes there it makes me dizzy.

I'd love to see the Khairi Fortt and Seastrunk articles from Rivals... if anybody would like to share, let me know.
Sorry about deleting the post. Incorrect formatting made it sound misleading:
Further on Curry: The kid's ESPN page says he's a FB. Father (Buddy Curry) played for NFL, and played at NC State where Bill Stewart was a grad assistant.
From the rivals west virginia page a couple of days back:
The Latest: Man of his word — 5/16/2009
Jessel Curry is a young man of his word....
-----------------
This curry is gonna be spicy.
with the powers not invested in me, I hereby bestow an honorary degree from Auburn University on our loyal fan and beloved Hottie, wartiger
speaking of curry, our nearly 16 year old weenie dog goes absolutely bonkers for curry dishes. I think she likes it as much or more than chocolate milk and ice cream.
feeding a dog curry sounds like a prescription for disaster, doc.
Best donuts hands down are Shipleys donuts in Texas. I heard there used to be one in Bham, not sure if it was as good
If you've never had a Kolache from Shipley's you are classified as underprivleged in my book.
They have a Shipley's in my hometown in TN. Good stuff, I didn't know there were others.
I just looked up Shipley's in TN, if I had known there was one in Columbia I would driven to it when I was staying in Murfreesboro last month. It would have been worth the hour drive.
there is a Shipleys in Hoover if I'm not mistaken..
Mon-if I set'em up knock'em down!
Dr.Habotn- Thank you for my non-degree. I accept it gratefully and with the utmost pride.
IMOO, even the best donut can't compare with an average doughnut.
Shipley's Donuts web site shows one in Hoover if you search by zip code, but none in the state if you search by Alabama. It will show it if you search by city/state. Yet searching "Louisiana" shows 5 in that state, all clustered in/near that center of the universe known as Alexandria.
why they can't just have a map showing the locations is beyond me.
Hmmm, I worked in Murfreesboro for about 3 years and I will say that Tennessee is a beautiful state, except Murfreesboro.
there are two daylight donuts in orange beach and gulf shores now. i'm seeing them everywhere.
i love donuts!
i hate bammer!
Donuts: KK--excellent. Shipleys--very good. DD-OK, but coffee is good.
Of course I always purchased DD while up north after landing on an early bird flight. Maybe I should give them more chances.
The inlaws live in Hattiesburg, Ms. We routinely stop for donuts after a 6 hr drive, at the Hattiesburg KK that is 15 min. from our destination.
Hoopie- I suggest more trips to Hattiesburg and fewer up north (although I have stopped at the KK in Altoona, PA a number of times)
Well, I have about as much confidence in the Penguins tonight as I'd have searching for a Cousin Humper with a full set of teeth.
GO PENS, ANYWAY!!!
I hope the Pens dust the Red Wings, I can't stand those guys.
Dunkin Doughnuts=doughnut shaped rocks.
Krispy Kremes=sweet doughnut shaped clouds.
For THT

That's so appropriate, NoVA
Thanks! :-)
UF just hit a walk off grand slam to beat Bama in softball...
WAR EAGLE!!, Sean. That's very delightful news.
The look of disbelief and digust on the Tahd players was enough to make my day!
Hoopie when you see those flags buy me a couple. Thanks. You're such a sweetie!
who is that saying, "nick saban you're sol" ??
YES!!!!!!!!!!
mon-Lache Seastrunk
Mon- If you wanna hear him say it..listen closely at the 7:40 point in this video...to give credit where credit is due..I saw this because of AUbigCat's earlier link..
http://www.oanow.com/oan/sports/college/article/watch_toomers_corner_is_rolled_during_big_cat_weekend/74538/
If/when Seastrunk signs...he might be another one where we have to have warnings prior to him speaking.
Thanks, Wartiger.
Sean - Could you repeat that last post? Wha?
ugh. I really REALLY hate the commies in Detroit.
Hey all. What a busy weekend for myself and a great one for our recruiting efforts.
Looks like we will probably have the #1 Running Back in the nation along with a great shot to have the #2 running back.
I love all the things this staff is doing on the recruiting front. I can't wait to see what the coaching will be like in the fall.
By the way, the movie "Up" was fantastic. It was by far the best animated movie I have ever seen and I would even deem it more of an adult movie than a kid movie, even though my 3 year old daughter loved it.
Mon- You know I will be there for the True Blood premire.
Mon I was trying to say if he keeps saying stuff like "I guess Saban is SOL" he might require warnings prior to reading his quotes much like Eltoro Freeman.
I would assume the chances of Seastrunk signing with Bama are way down.
Steve, where did you hear something like that?
Eddie, did you see the regular version or the 3-D version of "Up"? I think I would rather see the regular version, but I would like to hear your thoughts on the format that you watched. Thanks.
Eddie, I know you have mentioned they have something planned for June also. It sounds like they likely are going to try to find something to keep us in the headlines until football season. You got to admire that. When I think of previous seasons, this is the time you usually hear next to nothing. Even with the early commits last season, the really wasn't much else.
One of the things I admire about Big Cat Weekend is that they apparently didn't try to make the focus football. They just got the guys down to get together and bond. I am sure everywhere these guys go on visits the coaches are all over them. I get the feeling that wasn't the case here, and the players appreciated it.
Thanks Sean. My brain is a little more fried tonight than usual.
Just saying he apparently isn't showing Saban the love.
Eddie, I assume you think Seastrunk is about a lock and we have a good chance with Lattimore, correct?
depressed- I saw the 3-D version of the movie, but to be all honest with you, this is the first time I saw a 3-D movie and it didn't have all the typical 3-D gags in it. We took our 3 year old daughter to see Monster's vs. Aliens in 3-D and it seemed like they set the whole movie up with gags instead of much of a plot, but "Up" didn't use the cheap tricks in my opinion. Did it enhance the film, absolutely. I think they did a great job of using the 3-D within the story but not stooping to the silly gags. I'm telling you, "Up" is one of the better movies I have seen in awhile, period. I was highly impressed and not expecting much more than a good "kid's" movie. It is a sentimental film, but it tells a wonderful story. I guess after all my rambling, I recommend that you see the 3-D version, but i'm sure nothing will be lost in the story if you saw the non 3-D version.
Thanks eddie. I will look forward to seeing Up. I haven't seen a good animated movie in a long time. I actually prefer the old Disney animations that weren't done by computer.
Steve- They definitely have something planned later on, I think it is July, but it might by June that will be something akin to "Big Cat Weekend".
Yes, Seastruck is the one I like Auburn's chances with best from what I can tell, but nothing is a lock at this point, especially with these highly recruited players, and Lattimore is the other one. I would say that this is as close to a lock as you can have without having a commitment.
The burden is now going to be on the Auburn Offense and Gus being able to show some life this fall to keep the recruits excited.
Steve- I do to about the old animated films. I'm a Disney nut, as most can tell that have been following me sense I have been posting on here. I've got just about every Disney animated film that was released in theaters along with all the Pixar and more recent Disney Computer animated films. I'm actually buying annual passes to Disney World this week for the first time, so i'm kinda of geek in that realm also.
Eddie, that was my main concern, that the 3-D effects would take away from the story itself. I have not seen the "new" type of 3-D, I may give it a try on Up. I am a HUGE Pixar fan, their storytelling ability is second to none.
Eddie, I agree, buy the offense hasn't got to be excellent. I think as long as we show improvement we will get these kid's interest. If it goes great, the coaches can hype the improvement. If it goes not so great, they say it means we really need the help. Unless we somehow did worse than laast year, I don't think our record will be a deciding factor. For our offense to be worse than last year would be something I don't think could happen if we had no OC at all.
Let's get crunk with Seastrunk!
I don't think I have ever seen a 3-D movie I liked other than short ones at the zoo that last about 20 minutes. For a full movie to be like that, the new kind of wears off quick.
the onus is on us
Eddie- to continue the Disney/Pixar theme, the biggest mob scene I ever witnessed at Disney World was when Lightning McQueen and 'Mater from Cars made their way through MGM. Unbelievable!
Depressed- I feel the same way about Pixar and John Lassiter. I believe he is the closest thing to "Walt Disney" and he now has major influence over Disney Parks and Disney Animation. Go see the 3-D version, you will not be disappointed.
Steve- I agree about the offense. They have to show promise not be the best, which I think they can do.
By the way, I saw 7 pounds last night. Like most Will Smith movies, it is very good, although sad.
onus makes me think onerus which makes me think of those commie skaters from detroit. yuck.
I want the onus. Now, let's kick their anus!
I am going to enjoy seeing the contrasting running styles of Tate and McCalebb this coming season. It should be interesting to watch. From what I have read, Fannin is suppose to be bigger this season too, so McCalebb's speed will probably really stand out.
Depressed- I love the Mater and McQueen characters. They pretty much have their on spot now in the Studio's in the new Pixar's Place area. Up until "Up", I actually liked "Ratatouille" (sp) the best, but this one just blows them all out of the water.
I liked the movie Cars. The story was pretty simple, but well done.
I watched 7 pounds earlier this past week..good movie..one of those make you think kinda movies..I liked it..
This weekend,
I watched the 2007 UAT game.
I watched various videos on YouTube.
And I watched The Godfather.
I haven't seen Ratatouille
All of the Pixar movies are excellent, but "Monsters,Inc." has probably been my favorite. The ending when Sulley and Boo say goodbye always makes me want to cry. The Pixar movies have such heart.
Pixar story lines have many layers, especially if you pay attention. Cars seems simple, but it's actually much more. Pixar usually takes two main story lines and weeves them together and in Cars it was McQueen not having anything in life but racing and finding out there is more to life than just being the best and the beaten down town of "Radiator Springs" on Route 66 that was once thriving and now hanging on for dear life, like many towns that are currently on Route 66 that were by-passed once the interstate came in. I could go on and on, but I understand this is an "Auburn" blog :)!!!
new thread..
Depressed- If you own any Pixar movies in blue-ray, I suggest you watch the Cine-scope version of the film that has the directors talking thru out the film about why they did what they did and history behind the scenes. You would enjoy that, I promise.
I have not yet upgraded to Blu-Ray, but I would like to do so when I can afford it. I would love to hear those commentaries on the films. Sorry to blabber on with the Disney talk, I love the movies and theme parks. I envy your season passes!
