Checking in from L.A.

Hey everyone. As I discussed in a recent thread, The Tate Family is on vacation in southern California.

(Photo taken approximately 36,000 feet above Arizona.)

Just wanted to make it clear why I was not blogging and providing the swell Auburn information you expect from the HABOTN. I'm planning to do a few Coach Spotlights this week, but I'll be working them around trips to Disneyland, the San Diego Zoo and Sunset Blvd.

Take care.

Mon - I'd be inclined to think that couples needing therapy would opt for a "neutral" location rather than an in-house visit. But that's just me.

I'm gonna maintain a controlled optimism as far as the upcoming season goes. I was totally sold on The Franklin Experiment and was disappointed to no end after the season. But as far as this coaching staff and their recruiting efforts I am truly ecstatic. They have a swagger and a real confidence about AU and I love it. I wasn't thrilled with the hire of CGC but so far (and this is without one down being played) I have been truly thrilled with the job he is doing. From this coaching staff to the interviews I have seen and read I am drinking the kool-aid baby! And it taste great.

I've always been in need of therapy and always refused to acknowlegdge that fact.

Monica, I'm with Norm. Too many distractions at home. The counselor's office would be ideal, IMO.

Monica,
1) Wouldn't feel comfortable with a therapist in my home. I would prefer their office.
2) Honestly, it would depend on how many hours that it would take to benefit from the therapy. I know that is almost impossible to say, but a bill of $200 compared to $1500 would be huge for me personally.

Jay,
Have fun in Cali.

And if California slides into the ocean
Like the mystics and statistics say it will
I predict this motel will be standing until I pay my bill

Monica, or you could just tell your friends to schedule a blog session with the Hotties!

Thanks everyone so much for the opinions. Good stuff.

That's a great idea, Luv. Also eliminates the need for malpractice insurance!

Monica,
I'm with the other hotties - neutral location seems best. And as far as the money, if it saved my marriage I would think it worth any amount of money.

Knowing Monica, if I availed myself of the services, she would say: Mr. and Mrs. Airplane* -- not their real names -- are having problems with ...

Of course, she throws me under the bus at lot easier than others.

I'm jealous of Jay getting the Disneyland trip in. Would love to hear some more detailed comparisons of the two. Only one little correction, there are four theme parks in Orlando, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.

Back in my day, they also had 2 pretty sweet water parks in Orlando. You know, that whole Disney World thing might just work.

11:12 AM
Blogger Jet said...

Disney has 2 awesome water parks -- Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.

I'm a big fan of water parks. Other stuff? Take it or leave it.

11:14 AM
Blogger Norm said...

Disney World is nothing more than a passing fad, just like color television.

11:18 AM

Eddie..we have gone to both. Orlando is a much better disney experience. San Diego has the Zoo and Seaworld, whic is not as much stuff as central Fla. San Diego has beaches, better climate, better restaurants and less tourist concentration. Fla is closer and costs less.

Monica, who says people here don't need counseling? I have had counseling and I paid $100 an hour. Besides, have you met michael. Counseling, I am sure we know a lot about counseling.

And as for counseling at home or in the office, it really depends? Would I have to put pants on?

Norm- How dare you.

I know this won't be popular, but Finebaum has an excellent article on Al.com regarding Bobby Lowder. In regards to my question from a few weeks back, he says Lowder told Coach Dye at the bank office it was time for a change. Interestingly, he also states that Lowder met with Coach Tuberville at Lowders' home for breakfast the year before Bowden was fired. If true, that adds an interesting twist to the Jetgate saga.

I don't need any counseling. I welcome the voices in my head.

Between counseling and full-blown shrink doctors, I prefer the latter. They have the best pills.

Just watch the ads for those pills. You just have to get them. I took the pill where you are supposed to ride a horse on the beach, and I could swear I was on that pointy horse.. unisomething. Next time I'll get me the one where butterflies wake you up in the morning.

11:54 AM

i don't need counseling. i just need to get off my lazy butt.

i think butterflies are fascinating. I definitely want some of those pills. Horses and I don't mix well.

11:57 AM

THT, you sounds like my father, God rest his soul. That was basically his philosophy of life. He would have been a great counselor. He had one solution that would work for everyone. "You just need to kick him in the butt and make him do something". That will be $50. Next.

Wow, haven't thought about that place in about a hundred years. Somewhere near Loachapoka if I remember correctly.
By the way, I think I know how it got its name.
