Furlough, Pt. II: Day Two (Monday)
Hey everyone. As you know by now, I am on unpaid furlough this week as my parent company, Gannett, slugs its way through these difficult economic times.
As such, I am not able to blog. It's forbidden.
I have pre-loaded daily threads to pop up at 9 a.m. CDT so the conversations that make the HABOTN so delicious resume. Please don't be scared, angered or turned off my my parent company's difficulties. I'm very spendthrift.
Peace and love.

201...next page
The good news is that through two days of the furlough, we're averaging 200 posts per day, or we will be shortly.
Is Newport News, Virginia..nice..anyone know?
Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone.
Good Morning, Hotties! We're one day closer to the weekend!
Morning Hotties
Luv - that was a nice positive spin.
It's a gray, misty day in the Gump.
Maybe it will get better.
Jet - nope.
Good morning all.
Macon's checking in pretty dreary this morning as well.
GaTiger ...
Today is Senior Walk ... the grads and their kindergarten buddies are to parade around the campus with a lap of the Quad as the school salutes them.
I'm hoping for a break in the weather at 11 a.m.
Family reunion this weekend in Waldo, FL. We're all staying at the Dixieland RV & Music Park. My official review of this fine establishment will be available on Monday.
jet...
There's another band of showers at the MS line right now. Looks like it'll hit the Gump about 11:00. You're welcome.
Jet - I hope they're able to pull it off. Maybe if it rains a little, people won't notice that you're actually crying.
Send me some pics if you're able.
I'll follow along this path of yours next year and then again in around 15 years. Of course, when the cub graduates I'll probably be using a walker or wheelchair I'll be so old.
Good morning Hotties.
¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo a todos los Calientes!
Also just wondering what happened in Prattville that everyone there was named Scott.
Here's Finebaum's latest praise(?) of Auburn's recruiting tactics. I'm not sure why, but I find him even more creepy when he says good things about us.
MonD has returned. Hi, MonD.
I gave up on Cinco de Mayo for fear of cooties, uh, swine flu.
I'm scared to be out in public.
For those of you who recall my little Facebook incident from yesterday, someone here identified the offender as a Bammer.
He was!
With only 1 known possible exception being FSJ, all Bamers are losers. I'm just sayin'.
Oh wait, those twins can't be losers can they?
GaTiger ...
You're sounding like a sympathizer and a collaborator.
Good morning Hotties!
Just got to luv the Limo PR
It got under the skin of the crimpsum tide fan base so bad they are spitting up the koolaide.
Finebutt has been making fun of it all week and then writes a column praising it. What a dingbat.
I was afraid that Monica had gone Amish on us, and was busy making breakfast for Greggidiah.
Mon is a hit and run artist.
Must be raining in WV and she is trying to keep her computer dry in that log cabin.
Because you've been waiting for this ... my take on the F-baum column.
He's made a living sensing where the parade is and beelining to the front of it.
His latest tone ... popping Saban on the nose, and now praising Auburn (perhaps somehwat lukewarmly) ... may be the signal that he senses trouble in Hades.
Remember, he's a man of principles. He just changes his more frequently than most.
Paul plays his fan base like a fiddle. Why they don't get tired of the tune I do not understand.
Must all have the same DNA and IQ
I believe the columns to be closer to his thoughts.
It is my opinion he still views the paper as a legitimate journalistic endeavor, obviously moreso than the never-ending four hours of the Chattooga River rafting excursion that passes for his show, which is truly a combination of "Ground Hog Day" and "Deliverance" that I do my best to avoid.
Jet - I'm neither a sympathizer nor a collaborator. If FSJ is a ROFer how can I be agin him? As for the twins...well, they're girls and they're right purty too. So...I mean, I can appreciate nice looking women (really, I can appreciate all of them) and those two have found a way to be on my tv a good bit over the last few years. So I like them.
Digger I'm trying to work a little!
I could nevah go Amish. I would miss my Hotties too much.
What Facebook incident? What did I miss??? Cliff's notes, Jet?
BTW, when I'm in Amish country I call Greg Bert Beachy. Just sayin.
Mon - c'mon over to the new thread.
