Thursday update

Hey everyone. I figured we'd lose a ton of traffic during the summer months, but that was an erroneous premise. Traffic has been surprisingly steady.

I am grateful for your continued support of the HABOTN. I'm glad you likey.

My California vacay is nearing its conclusion. We'll be flying back Saturday morning aboard a spacious Airbus 330, which means we'll resume daily updates in short order.

For you local peeps:

The Montgomery Auburn Club is holding its annual summer shindig on Tuesday. I will be attending. There is such a high concentration of quality Auburn peeps at these events. How could I miss it?

WHEN: Tuesday beginning at 5 p.m.
WHERE: Embassy Suites, Montgomery
ATTENDING COACH: Gene Chizik, possibly some assistants
COST: Buffet is $15 per adult; $6 for children. You must be a member of the organization. Annual dues are $30 per family or $25 for a single membership.
WEBSITE: Montgomery Auburn Club

When Saban went ballistic on the fans, maybe this is what he was referring to. There sure are some arrogant REC'ers who think that they are above those NCAA rules.

8:01 PM

Saban went ballastic on fans because of bama fans being bama fans, and he could not possibly be at fault for their horrible showing in New Orleans.

As far as the behind the scenes action, I believe he knows what goes on.

I heard rumblings of similar things in Lousianna, but you would never get anybody in that state to say anything especially being that LSU is the only school and everyone there worships them. Things are a little bit different when you have a hated rival in the state and not every single person is devoted to your school.

IF the NCAA slams Alabama for recruiting violations, I feel sure Nick Saban has a plan to throw "rogue" boosters, school officials etc under the bus in record time. Considering he is the all-mighty dictator of the program, that would be a pretty hard sell to most reasonable people.

As for Gadsden, I do believe that eventually, something will happen. It all depends on what the NCAA wants to do. Will it make my day or year if that happens? Absolutely not. I would just find immense humor in the situation.

All - a busy day on tap here, I'll be lucky to keep any sports talk going in my earphones. Any of you with more immediate means of access for me, please feel free to alert me if something is happening and I need to know about it.

Eddie, you must be wrong about Jeremy Richardson because I believe he is a guy Saban wanted and Salsa has already told me Saban has the state locked down.

Steve- I know, what is the world coming too. Saban loses one.

Things are a changing.

Harrison, I think a smaller, quicker offensive line is the future of football. J-Rich will be a trail blazer.

Thanks Salsa to proving my point that I just shared with someone else. It took you less than an hour to do the obvious. I wish I could bet on this stuff. Stay Classy Salsa.

Salsa, are you slow? He will be an all conference offensive lineman in a couple of years. Try to keep up, man.

salsa schmuck,

thanks for stopping by and letting the HABOTN know you still care.

from your congratulatory message about jeremy richardson's commitment to play for AU, i'm sure you must be very disappointed in $aban's recruiting efforts this year having already received commitments from five lowly 3-star prospects and one kicker with no stars. don't worry. rivals will give your kicker his fifth star by NSD. I didn't know $aban accepted commitments from anything less than a top 100 player. i guess his standards are already slipping.

don't forget to say "hi" to your cousin from THE HABOTN while she styles your mullet to set the mood for a more romantic experience. check back later. we appreciate your concern.
