Auburn gets another commitment

Hey everyone. This is a quick note to share: Georgia WR Antonio Goodwin has verbally committed to Auburn. We know this because our friends at AuburnSports relayed that information via text alert.

Rivals.com has Goodwin listed as a 4-star prospect.

He has offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee and basically every other major school.

Auburn now has 12 commitments.

NOTE: I altered the time of this post so the top of the AUBURN blog has an AUBURN story.

AUfan said...: cincy, my totally un-scientific approach to recruiting is to look at the schools that are offering a player. I've seen more than one 3-star player that had offers from all of the top teams in the SEC. I tend to think they are probably deserving of a higher rating based on their offers. Highlight tapes mean little to me, because by definition they are the best plays that a player has had. We never see the bad plays from the same games. I would love to sit in with a coach and see how they evaluate players.; 1:57 PM

Recruiting Perspective:

Yesterday Bama got a TE Vogler- Well a.) we got one hell of a TE last year, remember Philip (something German sounding) b.) if we got any TE this year, which I dont think we are looking for, I would love to have Dickson out of Ocean Springs. His brother is the bad ass TE for LSU.

Bama got Opelikas RB Grant - a.) relax, we just got a great WR, that was wanted by everyone, not just UAB. so be happy.
b.) With only losing Tate next year I say we get one maybe two RB this year, plus I think Seastrunk and Dyer are our main targets.

Oh and wait, its only freaking July so none of this could mattter in six months...; 3:00 PM
