Well, my seats are very close to the field, in fact close enough to hear me if I want them to. If they know what is good for them they will stomp on the gas and never look back when the get ahead.

Craig -we've been counting down since BEASLEY #88, so yes, Jimmy Brumbaugh missed his Honorable Mention on day 96 (I have Benji Roland for top honor).

Here's a post from early June:

RIse and Shine Hotties!!!

It's ANDY FULLER DAY! T-minus 82 days til kickoff.

btw, I woke up hatin' bama!

4:53 AM

I can't remember if Goodson was the honoree on day 83 or not; couldn't find the post and my list is blank on days 84 and 83.

Marcellus Mostella received top honor on day 47.

Jason Miska received Honorable Mention on day 45 (Jimmie Warren)

Travis Williams did receive Top Billing on day 51

Bill Newton received Top Billing on day 56; I'm certain someone gave a very well deserved shout out to Shannon Roubique.

Yann Cowart received Top Billing on day 53; I suspect Anthony Harris got a shout out. Ken Bernich and Spencer Johnson certainly did.

Kathy ...

Thanks for asking ... we ended up back in the ER today for more fluids and antibiotics. She held down food tonight for the first time in four days (at least she has thus far).

Officially, it's a brown recluse spider bite. The wound, thankfully, looks OK.

She's been a sick girl. Hopefully she'll be better tomorrow.

There he is ladies and gents, WADE CHRISTOPHER

FOUR DAYS (and change) TIL KICKOFF!!!

Chris Shelling - Columbus, GA; CB/SS 1991-94; ALL-SEC in 1993 and ALL-AMERICAN in 1994; tied for 7th place with 11 career INTs; Chris's INT return avg of 21.3 yards trails only David Langner; led AU with 4 INTs in 1992. His most outstanding game was vs LSU in 1994. Shelling had 18 tackles, recovered a fumble for a touchdown, and made a game-saving interception in the end zone with 15 seconds remaining to preserve the 30-26 win. For that performance, Chris was named SEC Player of the Week. The following week, he went to the courthouse and changed his name back to Chris Shelling. He was also one of 3 finalists in 1994 for the Jim Thorpe Award.

Junior Rosegreen - Ft. Lauderdale, FL; S 2001-04; ALL-SEC and ALL-AMERICAN in 2004; led the team with 6 INTs in 2004. Rosegreen matched a 65-year-old SEC record and set an Auburn record with four intercepted passes off Volunteer quarterbacks Erik Ainge and Brent Schaeffer during Auburn's blowout 34-10 win in Knoxville in 2004. Both teams were ranked in the Top Ten entering that game.

David Beverly - Sweetwater, AL; P 1970-72; ALL-SEC First Team punter in 1971; NFL career spanned 7 seasons with the Oilers and Packers.

David Irons - Dacula, GA; CB 2004-06; David won a JUCO national championship with the Butler County (Kansas) Community College Grizzlies. He enrolled at Auburn in January, 2004, and earned a starting position at CB in spring practice. He missed the entire 2004 season due to a knee injury during August practice. He had two productive years at CB in 2005 & 2006, tying for team lead in INTs as a senior.

I am reminded each year by my wife about an episode I caused when Bowden was the coach.

We were stinking it up and only came alive when Robert Baker returned a punt for a TD. The game went to a TV timeout and I was dogging Bowden right in front of us, and the crowd went very silent. I know he heard me because my high school coach (Joe Whitt)looked up and saw me and just shook his head. Well Bowden walked to the other side of the 50 yard line and I followed him and told he stunk down on this end of the field too.

A shout out for #4: David Beverly, the punter in my day.

The very first game I attended as an AU student pitted David Beverly against a little know punter named Ray Guy, from Southern Mississippi. Funny thing is Ray Guy was the only person I knew in the whole stadium. He played in the same region as my high school in Georgia.

I liked David Beverly better. Enough said.

Of all things ... she had burned her hand in the same area ... so her feeling was a little off.

It most likely happened by reaching into an old bag of birdseed she was throwing out into the backyard.

The spot on her hand appeared immediately, but in her case, the major symptoms didn't reveal themselves quickly.
