FROM TIGER TALK
- On the week: ``It was business as usual. I'm really proud of the way they practiced."
- On Tiger Walk: ``I was getting in the moment with the fans."
- On Eric Smith's situation: ``Eric Smith will be playing Saturday night. We've moved on. We're proud ot have him back. I assure you that he's a better Auburn man now than he was three weeks ago."
- On assistant coaches continuing to participate in Tiger Walk: "I want them to be a part of the whole thing. That's one of the things that makes Auburn great. They ate that up. They had a great time."
- On handling blowout wins: ``We're never going to run the score up on people. That's not us."
- On Eltoro Freeman's situation: ``We're really hoping he can play Saturday. It's been one of those situations where he has looked close. There's a fine line. We don't want to lose him for another three weeks. We have to have caution."
- On Anthony Gulley: "He's one of those guys we're trying to get prepared week by week. He was a little big-eyed (returning punts). You're going to see him play more and more."
- On getting 556 yards against Louisiana Tech: ``It is exciting. That's where we're starting and we're hoping to build on that every week."
- Chizik said TE Tommy Trott played 77 of the team's 79 snaps last week.
- Auburn is working under the assumption that Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen, the former Florida offensive czar, will run the same schemes he ran at UF and Utah. They're not expecting major tweaks based on Mullen's lack of Utah- and Florida-caliber players.
- On the number of plays Auburn wants to run each week: ``In a perfect world, we run 90 to 95 plays in a game. We want to lead the country. The pace matters."
- On Derek Winter: ``Derek Winter is playing. He played some Saturday -- more in a special-teams role. He was out there."
- On Mario Fannin's running habits: ``He needs to do a little bit better job (of running north-south). He's going to get his touches because he's such a great athlete."
- On Onterio McCalebb: ``I really want to tempter the expectations. I want him to stay humble and keep working. That's how he got where he is. We just have to keep him honest and keep him working."

Good morning from a soggy Auburn. Should make getting tailgate spots marked off easier since fewer people will be out there.
Rain chances have gone down to 30% tomorrow. High 84 now. Nice and steamy.
War Eagle!
Did you figure all that weather information out just by walking outside Kristinaohh? Are you a weather detecting savant? That is pretty cool if you are. Not nearly as cool if you looked up that info online.
I prefer to not get wet tomorrow night. I can deal with heat, but really prefer to stay dry!
Years and years of practice, Mchle
mrs. scottie b. is absolutely stoked about it raining in auburn tomorrow.
Anyone remember in 2001 when it seemed to rain at every home game? That was crazy, man.
Just took a listen: Nice show Sensi and Eddie!!
Sorry for not noticing earlier MJT - Nice shirt
Michael,
You are right about 2001.
I remember leaving the stadium after the Ball State game and the skys just opened up. We were soaked by the time we got to the car.
The cold drizzling rain of the Miss State game that year was the worst.
2001 weather is also remembered for the Ole Miss game where I think it was 200 degrees in the stadium.
The skys and the skies.
I guess the skys/skies killed the thread.
Some grab a defibulator...stat!
Georgia Tech...what a catastrophe they almost had. Stupid mistakes and trickery put Clemson in a whole they almost climbed out of. Georgia Tech needs to do some soul searching to figure out how to sustain that rushing attack.
The blood is on my hands.
RK- Don't forget about the Florida game and what seemed like huricane type rain going thru the area before the game.
Mytommy- Thanks for listening. Glad you enjoy.
Good Morning Hotties - going off-topic for a bit. I landed at ATL this morning a little after 6a Eastern after taking a red-eye from LAX. I put this out there because I landed on 9/11. No one should forget the significance of this date. I was able to make my flight safely thanks in no small part by the sacrifices of many, many people like our own Aero. Sure, I may find it inconvenient to take off my belt and shoes and empty my pockets after standing in long line at the airport, but my momentary inconvenience absolutely pales in comparison to what others are doing on our behalf. Our country was attacked in a horrible way on this day 8 years ago. I know I'll never forget where I was and what I was doing, and I'm sure you all feel the same way.
God bless America.
If I remember correctly the 2001 Florida game was the week after the Miss State game, but it was about 30 degrees cooler at the State game. Which made the Florida game a lot easier to watch.
I do remember the rain and the wind picking up right as Duval was going to kick the game winner.
I remember driving down to Auburn for the 2001 Miss State game, which was the 1st home game since September 11th.
As I drove by the airport in Atlanta and plan was coming in over 85 to land it was just a weird feeling seeing a plane that close so soon after the tragedy from the month before.
Yeah, the rain picked up at the end of the Florida game and then poored during the celebration. The rolling of Toomer's corner was jovial that day, but not all that successful.
Well Said Norm.
Truly a day that everyone remembers what they were doing when they heard the news. Everyone should take a moment to reflect and never forget!
God Bless America!
After the 2001 Florida game, we went to Toomers Corner then to the Subway by Tiger Rags as it was open late and sit there until the rain calmed down and the lines for the shirts at Tiger Rags calmed down because we had to have the score shirt.
High school, junior year. We had a one of those crazy, wacky types and everyone found it really hard to take her seriously. She comes in babbling and someone asks, "What's wrong?" and she does a 180 gives this guy the death eye and in a raised voice responds, "OUR COUNTRY HAS BEEN ATTACKED!" I remember a couple of kids laughing and then she turned on the TV...It all seems surreal now.
I was at work and listening to the radio. When the DJ said "someone has flown a plane into the World Trade Center" I thought it was some small private plane.
However I knew this one lady who kept a small black & white TV at her desk and went over there to have her turn the news on and we turned it on right as the 2nd plane hit.
Sad sad day.
The girl I was dating at the time worked for TVA and they went into panic mode getting everyone out of the building since it is a federal building.
It was weird because it was like everyone just stopped doing everything for a moment.
Sadly despite everyone saying "this changes everything", after some time everyone just went back to their normal lives, but each year when this day rolls around it still gives me chills to think that could happen in our country.
Jet...Clempsun moved 8-9 into the box b/c they realized the GT qb was awful. Unlike AU in the past few seasons, GT found a way to throw deep and back up the D.
The X's and O's are surely more complicated than that, but didn't watch any closer than that b/c I was on a phone call while watching the second half. Missed the first half while out at dinner.
I was going in to chemistry class at Auburn when I heard... it was more like, "Oh, that's weird. A plane flew into the building?" I didn't understand the scope of everything until I got home and watched tv all day. Crazy, sad day.
I was working on a construction project, the Georgia Wolrd Congress Center Phase IV expansion, when I, like RK, heard that a plane had flown into the World Trade Center Tower. I remember listening to the radio thinking that a small plane at crashed into the tower, and then I heard the DJ witness and describe the 2nd plane hitting the other tower.
We had our structural engineer at the jobsite that day, and we were discussing if the towers were sound enough to take that impact and heat of the fire without partially collapsing, and then as we are discussing that, the unthinkable happened and the first tower collapsed. The structural engineer was assuring everyone that it would not collapse, so we all freaked out when we saw that.
I remember two things from that day, one being that I was close to Dobbins Air Force Base later that afternoon and could hear and see the fighter jets taking off and flying on a consistant basis when everything else in the air was completely dead and secondly, the thought that I was working in WTC Tower #2 almost a year before that on the 70th floor for Morgan Stanely, and I knew what was there and how everyone thought that place was like fort knoxx, especially after the previous attack.
9-11-01 was a very sad day.
I was in my "clinical" year. Heard the first plane on the radio and thought "what an awful pilot". Got to work and 2nd plane hit. We did no work all day, just stared at the TV.
As little emotion as I have towrds many things, it still blows my mind to this day
I was sitting at a piece of land with one partner waiting for the third partner(late). I kept calling him and finally got through. He is an American Airline pilot, told us what happened and that he was ordered to stay at home near phones, etc.
Today is our 27th wedding anniversary...since then we keep it down low.
