Byrum and McCalebb get some love

BOOM
EXPLOSIVE!
PF - I'm not sure where they are.
I don't hate the rule. I love the rule. I hate the current interpretation and enforcement of the rule. I think Dooley agrees with me.
I have a flying mattress/boxsprings story, too. It involved a $1,200 set belonging to my ex-boss, until if flew out of my truck on one of the Gump's busiest streets.
We still get a big laugh out of it at the office. Except for my ex-boss. He didn't think it was too funny.
Not sure if it has been mentioned yet or not. But, Byrum is sitting at 3rd nationally in points scored.
Also, would like to wish my beautiful wife a very Happy Birthday today!
Jet - my story involved a fellow you went to school with (I believe) at Floyd, he lived on Cloverdale and his initials are P.M.
When will isoms suspention end, and has anyone heard about the status of Mike McNeal.
Officials are making the rule too difficult.
If it's not prolonged, overtly unsportsmanlike or choreographed, it shouldn't be a penalty. The Georgia celebration was none of the three. Neither was Charles Scott's celebration, for that matter.
Officiating post-TD celebrations should be akin to being a cop on Bourbon Street -- use good judgment.
Miller - does the future doctor read this blog? If not, you better remember to tell her in person.
I didn't realize PMarsh went to Floyd. I knew Jet was almost that old though.
That's my favorite metaphor for officiating I've ever heard. Bourbon Street has the best cops in America. I'll be stealing that so I sound smart at my next football gathering.
Not only that, DMiller, but you might want to consider leading off with the birthday greetings next time, unless your wife is just a huge Wes Byrum fan.
Happy B'day to Mrs. D. Miller!
I wasn't aware, Norm, that PM had taken flight before. I am FB friends with PM, my former teammate from YMCA hoops days.
Paulmain, thanks for wanting to keep abreast of the situations. I'm hearing chatter that Isom won't be back until UK. McNeil? Have no clue.
J-Z ...
While the PM in question is not PMarsh, I do have some PMarsh stories to share one day.
How bout today?
I'll hold for now, PF.
Jet - No time like the present. You're here and I'm here. Doesn't that make this OUR time?
"abreast of the situations" - excellent! By the way, PM could be Paulmain!
J-Z ...
Could you contact me for an ex parte conversation?
Jet - you're beginning to remind me of someone...
Whoever would that be?
Happy Birthday Jesse Palmer.
SNORT!
They could get away with the penalty for celebration by just having a big wooden box behind the endzone that a player could go into to celebrate in any way he saw fit.
Question, why did Tebow leave his pads on all the way to the hospital. It's a little strange to be riding in an ambulance looking like you may be going back out on the field at any moment.
Those weren't pads Peter, Tebow needs no pads, that was all Tebow the superman.
Tim Tebow's natural build is similar to Super Shredder from the Ninja Turtles II movie.
Oh, for the love of all that's holy. PF has SteveFC's favorite coach on as his opening guest.
Tony Franklin?
DING!
I have a question: what does Tony Franklin have to offer to heighten the level of discourse in college football today? Thoughts on the upcoming Troy-MTSU game? Surely.
Or is it to re-plow old ground? Maybe throw a stone or two? No, couldn't be that. That's cynical of me.
Wasn't former UT basketball player and pro-wrestler Kevin Nash Super Shredder?
He must be talking about MTSU spanking North Texas.
Among topics covered: MTSU going to Troy to play tomorrow night, and 1 year ago this week he was dismissed from his previous position.
Jet,
Did you really want an answer to that question?
Auburn getting love n College Football Live.
Craig James says "as talented as any in the country."
So it's almost the 1 year anniversary of Bama fans starting the rumor that someone gashed Tony Franklin's head on the way out?
Big Snacks,
While it's good to get the love...Craig James isn't the brightest apple.
He once left SMU to take a paycut in the NFL.
I say Kevin Nash takes Tebow in the Thunderdome.
I listened to PF stream for a few weeks and it got old quick for me. Now I just cheery pick the interviews I want to hear off the archives. I do enjoy reading his columns though, he is nondiscriminatory in his bashing of all things AU, UAT or TN IMO. He will give the occasional kudos when deserved - very occasionally.
Good One RK on James.....
Open note to Commish Slive: We at the HABOTN hereby nominate Bro Jet to be the final word in excessive celebration penalties.
Why?
He has demonstrated considerable wisdom and determined an appropriate barometer. What embodies the SEC more...than the ability to stay just above the law in Nawlins?
Now we just gotta figger out how to get all SEC games satellite linked into one spot so
that Bro Jet can be available to review and render.
Breaking News: Tony Franklin still fired!!! Finebaum got the scoop.
This is pretty interesting regarding Malzahn's strategy against UT:
Malzahn
Funny comment by Craig James since he has us ranked 24th.
Also, I'm not sure if wifey is a reader or not. I was covering my bases.
Somebody get Carl off Finebaum please. It is guys like that who give ignorant rednecks a bad name.
Charles has thrown down the gauntlet.
Either get on the boat or don't ever get on he says.
does Charles have his 'flippy-floppies'? and how large is this boat?
Charles is flippin' burgers while you're a Kinko's straight flippin' copies.
It is interesting to read where the slower pace of the offense was planned.
I love when people take talk radio callers seriously.
Hoopie...
I gladly accept the position as Celebration Czar for the SEC.
Sometimes slow and steady wins the boatrace.
i wonder how the HIBOTN is recovering from Iowa's huge 24-21 victory over Arkansas State on Saturday. hmmm.
Does anybody here participate in dog agility trials?
Ok, I know you personally don't, but does your dog?
There is one coming up in Autaugaville in a few weeks that I was thinking about taking Coop (my dog, not our scruffy poster... Although he'd be welcome to tag along) to watch and see if he'd be interested.
Iowa is a 7.5 favorite over Michigan. Iowa's reality check will be cashed.
Chris Low had plenty of nice things to say in his Monday chat on espn.com.
http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/chat/_/id/28664
i really like that freshman QB at Michigan. he's a player. they lost a tough OT game to Michigan St. on Sat., though.
i just realized i haven't had lunch yet. i really must not be feeling well.
SFC, so you're saying I should take Meetchikin in my office pool this week?
SC, nice link on the Malzahn story. Thanks.
DMiller, I would take Michigan and the 7 points, but not straight up.
SEC Officials admit mistake

Hey martini,
Can you repost the link?
Story of Celebrations
fettuccine linguine martini bikini
Moral of the story - act like you've been there and you won't have to worry about arguing a penalty's merit the Monday after a loss.
Agreed Sensi.
Eh, I think UGA should be hit with a penalty each and everytime they score. They lost me when they did the Soldier Boy in 2007 after they stomped us. I was already tedering after they got that penalty against UF in 07 when Richt told them if they didn't get one he would be mad at them.
Yea, whether it is a stupid penalty or not doesn't matter. The UGA player should have stayed focused on the task at hand. I don't like the celebration penalties, but they are a reality due to some idiotic behavior back in the 90s. I am all for taunting penalties. As for the celebration penalties, perhaps they should give them 5 seconds to do whatever they want. If you have a choreographed dance routine you can complete in 5 seconds, fine. Take an extra second and it will cost you 15 yards.
Who's more disgruntled right now - Georgia or Tennessee fans?
Some crazy UGA fan is on the radio in Chattanooga saying the head ref in the game over the weekend was a Ga Tech grad and the head of officials for the SEC is a Ga Tech grad.
I would say Tennessee because they are paying more to be disgruntled. They paid out the butt for that coaching staff, only to get the shaft.
Is there a coach in America with more class off the field, that displays less class in how he coaches his team than MR?
Over/under on the number of times Auburn plays a game televised on CBS this year?
I know there's at least one.
Same UGA fan says May and Holtz also hate UGA and that Tebow does worse celebrations and he never gets called.
I love crazy talk radio callers.
Is anyone as surprised as me that Ryan Pugh was not hammered for his "illegal chop block"? And Sensi, stick with the Tombstone pic! :)
Sensi,
Looking at the schedule, Auburn/UGA will probably be CBS.
Martini,
They didn't catch the chop block on camera, and it wasn't on an All American player.
API,
Outside of the Florida episode, how is Richt classless?
Also, how is it a penalty for a guy to score a TD and point his fingers up in the air like Charles Scott did?
i would rather be on ESPN any day than CBS, but that's just me.
Um...catching up a bit...I am a bit stunned by the Cal Rikpken comments....but hey...to each his own.
Being in Baltimore it was the first thing I caught.
RK ...
He popped his chest a couple of times before he did that. Again, go over there, tell him to cut that out and get to the sidelide.
UGA/AU on CBS will be fun.
I am not sure what Mindbomb thinks should be done about the bad celebration call against Georgia. He doesn't say. He just says he is shocked at how the SEC reacted, which was basically to say they were wrong. Other than public caning of the official, what should be done?
BREAKING NEWS FROM ROCKY TOP:
A punishment may be coming for Tennessee receiver Brandon Warren, but definitive word on its length or severity has not come out of the UT camp yet.
A published report by WVLT in the afternoon said the Vols would suspend the junior for the season after a sideline outburst during Saturday's loss to Auburn, though he could be eligible for a return for bowl season according to a family member.
UT spokesperson Tiffany Carpenter declined to comment specifically on the possible decision.
"Coach (Lane) Kiffin said he would address it after practice," Carpenter said.
my 2nd favorite Eric Berry pic from Saturday is HERE.
Going through the Arkansas vs. TAMU stats from last week.
This was an epically mismanaged game. Aggies had EIGHT drives burrow inside the Arkansas 40.
Arkansas won, 47-19.
My goodness.
That included a 73-yard drive that ended as the second quarter expired.
TAMU was at the Ark 8 when the horn sounded. DOH.
i don't think Malzahn will have that problem this week JG.
pretty inept by TAMU. i watched the first half or so of that game this morning. Arky just rocked them in the 2nd quarter and they couldn't respond.

I like this one scottie! It was the aftermath of Tate's plowing of him! He so Scary! Big Hit
Does anyone want to change their season final record?
I had 7-5 I might be looking to up a bit.
Jet,
I think the UGA players are an unruly and undisiplined lot. That stems directly from the HC. HCMR is fine man; off the field. His players, his team, his program more closely resembles FL than what UGA should be under HCMR. I didn't say he was classless, I just expected more from him than I've seen in 9 years.
DL DeQuinta Jones, former Auburn recruit, plays as a backup for the Razorbacks this season.
I really liked that kid. Good people.
Ok, I've said before that I'm a fan of AJ Green and have been a UGA sympathizer in the past. I get that, and am trying to look at this objectively, but I don't get what Steve and Sensi are talking about. Act like he's been there before? What'd he do wrong, smile? I don't get it. There was nothing that I saw that could have even given the official a chance to make a judgement call.
...and while that caller's conspiracy theories were a little out there, I do agree about Tebow. He's one of the worst offenders in the league about calling attention to himself. He runs around, waving his arms, pumping his fists, pointing to the crown, pointing to the spirit in the sky, and whatever else he can dream up. He's never been flagged for excessive celebration.
I just watched the celebration call against Georgia several times. That was pretty ridiculous. If I were a dog fan, I would be pissed.
Agreed, Jay G. TAMU's stats aren't bad. Their blown scoring opportunities in that game looked very Auburn-2008esque.
CMR is too forgiving. He doles out very light punishment for academic and off the field issues and hardly punishment for on field issues.
He truly wants to change young men's lives and thinks that forgiveness in lieu of strict discipline will work with high-strung athletes. Unfortunately, because HS spoils these athletes, they can't be given a lot of rope.
"If you look at some of the other teams that are playing and look at how their games have gone, tell me where the difference is. I think if you really study the polls, you really have to study which teams that are there and who they played and how they played. If you compare apples to apples, I think that we deserve to be there right with everybody else." -- Charlie Weis.
BWAHAHAHAH!
A Notre Dame coach complaining about the polls.
BWAHAHAHA!
effffffffing ND finally isn't a total loser and they want special treatment.......what a surprise.
Tell Charlie to contact the cornpones for whining tips.
Snacks,
I concur.
Looks to me like Weis has no idea what an apple is anyway
Well, he has been pulling some wins outta his butt a la Les Miles this year. Apparently, that gets you to #4. Start there and drop him based on a last second miracle by a Michigan freshman and I think they should be ranked 7....or not. Go eat a hot-dog, Chuck. You look like you've lost weight.
Nice Harrison, nice!
It was a good point, wasn't it Jet? (I have no idea what you're concurring with).
Jay G., A&M's end of the first half drive stats are misleading. The last drive ended at the 8, but that play started around the 30 or so and there was one second left on the clock when the play was snapped. The only reason there was one second left was because the refs reviewed the previous play and determined there was time left on the clock, otherwise the half was suppose to be over.
The only weird decision was that they didn't trot out the field goal team, but maybe their kicker doesn't have a strong leg. Plus, they didn't have any time outs. That whole last drive came with not much time on the clock and the Hogs playing a big of prevent.
Charlie knows what an apple is. He ate a whole orchard of them yesterday.
Jay G, I know you don't like us making fun of people's weight, but I request a waiver on Charles Weis. He's a lazy slob. He tried to lose the weight the easy way with the surgery...and failed, cause he can't quit eating. Plus, he's dumb. And a bad coach.
Snacks ...
I am concurring with your post regarding UGA's celebration and the concussed one.
Speaking of no ideas,
Auburn UT game pictures on ESPN.com
"Nick Thorpe"?
"Zak Etheridge is tackled by ----"?
eh.. That's Neiko, and the guy running the ball would be Ben Tate, not Zack Etheridge.
It would make sense that someone would tackle Ethridge since he is missing tackles on defense at a frightening pace.
Ethridge usually is a sure tackler...my main complaint about him over the years has been he gets burned on crossing routes.
Jet, did Ethridge miss this many tackles pre-shoulder injury? His health was one of the biggest questions I had regarding the defense, he has not looked like the player I remember in 07.
How about the UT play calling. Nu'kese Richardson runs for 40 yards on the first play out of the wildcat and that's the last we see of that. It will be a whole different ballgame with Petrino on the other sideline this weekend.
E-Bro,
Doc has Arkansas beating us this weekend.
Did Ethridge miss a bunch of tackles on Saturday? I remember he took a really bad angle on one of the big plays that cost us.
Both the AJ Green and LSU fouls were called wrong.
That being said, I personally like for a team to act like they have been there before....even if they haven't. Jumping around and acting-a-fool just b/c you make a big play smacks of a wannabe instead of someone who IS. It's kinda sad when reactions to a good play are akin to that of a championship locker room.
If I'm the opposing team, I would be much more worried about a team that makes a play and is focused enuff to move on to the next task at hand instead of group hugs and chest bumps. Some players like this kind of stuff and some just tolerate it.
RK, I wouldn't be shocked. I think it's a pick 'em game. Hopefully our guys don't think about the rankings and just keep DWWD. If they do that, I think we win a close game. But Arky definitely poses some problems, and I think it's a tougher test than UT this last weekend.
I think UT was a tougher test with it being as the first road game.
We now know we can win on the road.
That being said, Ark is 2-2 and much like UT they know they really need to win this one to probably get a bowl game.
Florida's giving 9 points? at Death Valley? at night? hmmmm.
Hoops, 7 points is a big deal. Brett Favre's been there before. he jumps around and gives hugs. Tim Tebow's been there before. He...well, acts a fool. I'll give you that one. Chad Ochocinco and TO have caught many. They do skits.
How many players don't show some emotion when they score? Very few stoics have ever played the game. I don't get what you want.
Trooper give offensive linemen chest bumps as they come off the field (which is hillarious, cause he's not as big, and looks even smaller without pads). I don't see anyone criticizing him. I want that emotion.
I don't acknowledge the pro-hoes as sportsmen, so their antics don't count with me.
RK, yeah I guess it's that I think Arkansas is a better team than UT. No doubt the UT game will give our players confidence for the next road test.
Okay, do you acknowledge every excited kid who's every gotten excited about scoring 6?
wow, that's a terrible sentence, but I think you can figure it out.
Basketball players can celebrate, baseball players can celebrate, soccer players can celebrate, hockey players can celebrate... are all these players worse sportsmen than football players? I am fine with no taunting and no choreography. Jubilation is natural and should not be punished. What if, as a fan, you were told you could not cheer as loud as you wanted to after a big score? Now imagine being the guy with the ball who actually worked for the score.
Let the kids play! (within reason, of course)
Count me in the camp that considers Arkansas much more dangerous than UT. Will our D be able to stop them at all? I think this will come down to whose offense shoots themselves in the foot more.
Congratulate each other however you want to.....over on the sideline. So Trooper chest bumps are great.
Watching 5-6 players pour into the endzone and maul the scorer after a score or a LB prancing and strutting after a sack is boring .....act like you've been there before and get back in the huddle!!! Celebrate when you actually win the game.
Is these type celebrations are necessary to excite the kids, then I guess that shows you what happens when you raise a self-affirmed generation that got trophies just for showing up.
Helicopter parents beware.
Player has been working his rear off all week. Scores the go ahead touchdown with 1:09 left in the game. So he is not supposed to celebrate.
If anyone needed to act like they had been there before, it was the ref who threw the flag. He was the one who showed ommaturity. Some of you guys on here are ridiculous. Tell me you are AJ and you don't celebrate in that instance and I say you are a liar.
I'm all for celebrations for TD's, turnovers or big stops on 3rd downs.
It's the celebration after stopping someone for a 1 yard gain on 1st down or celebrating a 12 yard catch on 1st down that is a bit too much.
I remember Plaxico Burress celebrating his 1st career catch for 13 yards and spinning the football on the ground not knowing in the NFL you have to be touched down and the other team jumped on the ball and recovered the "fumble".
The one player on our team who even Chiz has called out for celebrating is Bates. Bates likes to turn to the crowd and celebrate without is teammates every time he makes a play.
I was more worried about UT than Ark. Our D is better than their D and will stop them more than they will stop us....We win....40 something to 30 something.
I haven't posted since hoops season but wanted to get back in the groove today. A change in work/school venue changed my internet habits and I accept my removal from notable newcomers!!
I saw 2 nights ago that my recognizing J-Z sitting 2 seats down from me in KneeinmybackLand stadium was "freaky" to some...but I have been all about the HABOTN since the beginning and I recognized him from the pic at the MSU game...NO worries there..I'm not a sketchball!! J-Z was hella cool, and I must also send out props to his lady for helping my significant other solve all the worlds problems during the game while I stressed about all the ways that we could blow that big lead!
A happy Monday to you all and it's good to be back...
Put me among the terrible generation. I pumped my fist when I hit a home run. I pounded my chest after I blocked someone's shot or dunked on someone. I jumped up and down with my friends in the endzone who had just scored.
Heck, I scream at my computer screen when I find a material mistatement.
Without that emotion, I have zero motivation to do those things. If it doesn't feel good, I'm moving on to something else.
Good point RK. Somebody made this point earlier as well. Nothing worse than when a safety celebrates a big hit even though he just gave up a 12 yard completion. But yeah man, great hit, even if the play did result in a first down. What?
As for hearty celebrations, I have no problem with them. When I score a 20 pass combo goal in FIFA or get a nice kill in Halo, I get excited. It happens.
I once let the air out of my Reebok Pump's before touching home plate a wiffle ball HR in P.E.
OT: Straw poll... LaCrosse work boots or Georgia Boot work boots?
Both leather, Wellington style and waterproof.
"Act like you've been there before" is a cliche. Why act like you've been there before? What is the logic? Sportsmanship? I guarantee you unless there is direct taunting, it does not make the other team feel any worse. And even if it did, the players on the other team would love the freedom to celebrate themselves when they do something big. So why act like you've been there before? Because you want to look cool? Is there vanity involved by wanting to look so cool that you don't even cared you just made a big play? Why?
I've not had good luck with Ga Boots.
I'm only slightly worried about Arkansas. I think Auburn's defense is better than Georgia's, who held on just enough to win against them, and Auburn's offense should be able to way outscore that attrocious D that Arkansas fields. As long as Auburn doesn't turn the ball over, it's a win.
D Miller..I wear Lacrosse "Grange" boots a lot..They are rubber and I wear them mostly for hunting/fishing but also to school (where I teach) etc. when it's rainy outside..They are extremely comfortable and I swear by 'em..I'm sure the Wellington style would be as much as/more comfy...Just my $00.02
Michael
It's that kind of attitude that tries to convince me James Cameron's Aliens is better than Ridley Scott's Alien.
Aliens was an exciting, fun movie, but there's no accounting for taste (as SMG so eloquently states a few minutes into this clip.
show me a team with no emotion and I'll show a team likely to get it's butt kicked in the big game. This whole march off the field like a robot thing is complete nonsense.
Coach: Hey kid! What the heck's the matter with you?
Player: I'm fired up on the inside coach.

Show me a team overwrought with emotion and I'll show you a team about to be undone by one mistake.
PF...we'll just have to agree that it is a generational difference between us.
I hit a homerun because my teammate on first base taunted the pitcher into thinking he was gonna steal. The pitcher predictably threw a high fastball that I jacked out. It would have been an insult to my teammate to pump my chest and take the glory...but
I'm sure that's just old school to you.
Alien > Aliens... though both a lot of fun in their own way.
The difference between 80's action movies and players celebrating when they are happy? You guessed it... substance.
I would say a player pretending not to be excited actually has less substance.
Sure..we celebrated after a TD...while running off of the field....but we got off of the field.
We didn't run down to the endzone and group hug just because of a TD.
Is it fragile emotion in today's kids that causes the need for praise and adoration over minor accomplishments in order to get them excited?
You did your job..here's your trophy!!!!
Sensi, I give you Tim Tebow. What about him? You can't tell me he's not overwrought with emotion, but the guy has two nationional championships, two SEC titles, a Heisman trophy, a 26-5 record as a starter and he may add to all of that this year.
The thing is, everybody in Hoopie's generation celebrated too, except Hoopie apparently.
Single player.
Not the whole team.
Is he a fiery guy? Sure. I'll also posit that Tebow is an anomaly. Most guys his age aren't mature enough to handle. He clear is an exception to many rules.
Taunting works. I had 19 strikeouts in a game a couple times because I put the first pitch of the game in the leadoff batter's earhole. It works.
That and a nasty curveball.
I'm all for stoicism myself, but as long as the guys aren't taunting (which I thought Walt McFadden was close to doing a few times on Saturday and I didn't like it), it doesn't bother me a whole lot.
Tim Tebow basically is the team, though. It's his fire that makes them go anyway.
I mean...think about it.....Why are you celebrating a TD or a Homerun if you don't end up winning the game? The reason to play is to win the game...so you are celebrating your own accomplishment without knowing how the team will fare?
Kind of a shallow self-absorbed celebration in retrospect...huh?
So how do you think Florida will react if Tebow doesn't play this weekend?
I'll take Jason Campbell's composure any day, but I know Auburn fans wanted to see a lot more fire out of him before 2004. But that didn't make him tick and I loved that about him. People are different.
Hoopie - I understand your opinion, but connecting with "those darn kids these days and their encouraging to a fault parents" is just silly. Here's guessing that a lot of the best college football players today, many of whom were raised in ghettos, did not receive excess encouragement as they grew up as you seem to suggest. I think that problem is more of an upperclass white issue... whose demographic, in turn, is probably most likely to act stoic after a touchdown (but that's because they know they would look like Chris Todd if they celebrated).
Win one for the Tebow?
Imagine Kirk Gibson's homerun in the 198? World Series without the winding fistpump.
Y'all, these are little boys playing a game and having fun. What's wrong with a little celebrating if you aren't taunting the other team or doing some choreographed dance. Jumping around, pumping your fist, pointing to the sky, those all seem like normal reactions to doing something good.
Cincy, I think LSU wins if Tebow doesn't play. I think it's a close game either way, though.
DMiller....Good thing I wasn't the opposing pitcher....I have hit you when you came to bat...straight out
The opposing pitcher was a sissy for not shutting you down.
I just stopped to realize we are discussion celebrations and Auburn football in close proximity.
That was nice.
Now back to brooding.
Welcome back Andrew!!!
Sensi,
You need some happy pills. Want me to send you some? They taste like peanut butter cookies.
Hoop, in one of those games the guy it plugged was the opposing pitcher.
Andrew, stop excessively celebrating yourself!
Andrew,
Forgive us! We just pulled you back in without even acknowledging you had been gone. Glad you are back!!
Send them to me, Cincy.
Michael....In our town the classrooms give every student a ribbon for something...regularly. No one gets left out. Federal funding for the Atl inner city schools ensures that the same happens there also. It may occur slightly more in one demographic group over another, but socialogists ensure that it does happen.
DM...I'm a lefty....a hard slider into the ribs or upper thigh affects an opposing pitcher more than making him duck, get up and dust off.
I never initiated....just retaliated.
Hoopie, I grew up in the 70's and played just about every sport available to me. Even back then we sometimes got trophies even when we didn't really deserve them. I assure you that I knew the difference, as did my teammates. Same thing with my kids today. By the way, no ribbons for everybody in my kids' school. For the record, I'm not a big fan of taunting or excessive celebrations.

Celebrating with emotion after a huge play or score is fine...celebrating just to draw attention to yourself or taunting someone else is something different.
It's hard to play sports and not be emotional.
WERK, you pretty much just summed it up, imo.
Not sure why that posted 3 times. Weird.
Hoopie, you've beencome a grumpy old man. Just sayin'. I appreciate that for the most part.
I've decided that I'd like to see D.Miller play PF one-on-one, with Hoopie as the ref.
What sport? I'm not batting against him. I haven't swung a bat in 11 years. If it has to be baseball, though, I'm wearing one of those fancy new helmets that make you look like a bobblehead, and hitting him with it when he throws at me. Hoopie's job will be easy: eject us both.
FYI, WR Brandon Warren has indeed been dismissed from UT's football team after getting into it with the WR coach. Apparently there were some other things he did before that as well.
So, Auburn 59 Arkansas 41.
Any sport. We'll let you play for 10-15 minutes before we let Hoopie into the venue so we can make sure we get lots of taunting, intimidation, etc. before he has to try to restore order. You should both be good and angry by the time he gets in there.
I need to decide whether to call and taunt my only Arkansas buddy. DM, PF, Hoopie...any input?
Where's Norm? It's almost time to flip!
Guess we will have to do it without him,
Snort
Sorry, Norm. New page smell. Smells like a win.
