Evening update, 10/20
Hey everyone. Player interviews have ended and, really, I have less to report than expected. It seems the Tigers' losing skid has prompted several players to skip out on interviews.
I'm fine with that and all. It just means less for you to read and discuss.
Here we go:

I'm fine with that and all. It just means less for you to read and discuss.
Here we go:
- Gus Malzahn on today's practice: ``We had a good, physical practice. The guys got after it and had a pretty good focus. Just trying to get back to basics, correct the mistakes. Obviously we made way too many in the fourth quarter that probably cost us the game. We're just trying to correct that to where it will never happen again."
- Malzahn, after saying passing problems were a team issue, on how bouncing a pass to Mario Fannin is a team issue: ``Yeah, there's certain plays, obviously, that the quarterback could have played better. He's played extremely well up until the last two games and even in the last two games, there's been things that he did well. What we've got to do is put him in some situations to be successful and make the plays."
- Malzahn on Chris Todd's shoulder: ``I think Chris Todd is fine. I think any quarterback in the country, Week 8, that's thrown a little bit is maybe going to be a little bit different than the first game and I think he's no different than anybody else."
- Joshua Bynes on tackling problems last week: ``Making a tackle has nothing to do with you being tired. It’s how you tackle them, the way you tackle them. We were just missing them. We were there. It was: how in the world do you miss them? Is it magic or something?"
- Lee Ziemba on crowd noise: ``I remember the loudest place I ever played at was Florida my freshman year. That was unreal. I've either gotten used to it or just zoned it out, but you don't really notice it. There's not a big difference between 104,000 and 92,000. It all looks the same and it all sounds the same. It's just loud and you have to concentrate. It's really not that big of a difference."
- Ben Tate on how the team is reacting to a pair of losses: ``There’s a lot of people upset. Losing two games back-to-back, that’s never good but we just see it as an opportunity. There’s probably not going to be a lot of people that expect us to go down there and do too much. But we can upset them and shock everyone and be talked about again.”

one?
Nice one, Mark
Wow. Haven't been around much this year. I watched from afar last year. I am an Alabama fan that has a deep respect for Chisik.
Hope he succeeds.
Good luck to you guys.
No offense, but, I could not stand TT.
Whatever happened to Monica?
I see lots of new faces this year.
Great site.
Auburn will play very well Saturday and spank LSU.
Jay G- What's your thoughts on Todd?
Digger- Thanks for calling.
Mark- FSJ will be disappointed that he is not the only bama fan posting now :). Keep it up.
we suck again
We sucked the last 2 weeks. Will we suck again this week? Maybe not. I hope not.
Mark = Monica in disguise.
Take the money line Saturday.
Hello daughters college fund!!!
Well we now have two confirmed "Chris Todd is fine" quotes.
What do I think about Chris Todd?
You have to be a little more precise on that one.
ALSO:
*Video ETA is 9:30 p.m.
*We will hold a Cover It Live chat on Thursday afternoon.
Do you concur that he is indeed fine?
No. I do not.
Do you think there was a "if they ask about Todd, just say he's 'fine', that will hold them over" conversation?
Jay G- Will Chris Todd play the entire LSU game and if not, who comes in...Trotter?
Hey Jay G you going to talk to Neal next week?
Jay G,
What's the vibe of the players you are talking to? Still nothing like last year, right?
I hate LSU with a passion
Welcome back Mark...
We need more Crimson here..
Jhag..you got your cigar handy in case Auburn pulls through?
FSJ...
You must have missed my earlier post. Auburn rolls by double digits Saturday.
FSJ, that is a swell idea, I am on it
Fag: n. A student at a British public school who is required to perform menial tasks for a student in a higher class.
I didn't realize Saban was British. This does explain why he is so short, however.
Sorry ehyou..I did miss it.
I think Auburn has a chance, although I think LSU will win.
No real reason why by the stats, but I just don't think Todd is totally healthy.
Auburn has lost the two game it's going to lose this season.
jhag..
Already got my cigar lined up for this weekend too..
Only thing I've ever smoked..and I only do it once a year....well with the exception of last year. I did light one up after the Iron Bowl.
I'll say this ehyou....
If Auburn loses just two games....and those two games are Arkansas and Kentucky...there will be alot of Auburn fans wondering "what if" at the end of the year.
Mikey: It's a family blog, homes. No more fag references, please.
Eddie: I expect Chris Todd to play until he fails so badly than even his own father would advocate him being taken out.
Why are our coaches so fixated on Chris Todd and his looks? Is he prancing around the locker room wearing a Jennifer Connelly mask and lengerie or something? No wonder Carter's talking about a newfound "bond" among teammates.
If Auburn loses this weekend, then they've lost the 3 games they will lose this season. That's the only mentality I have.
That's not the response I wanted to hear on that.
How far was last week's 90 yard passing game away from that?
Oh I get it now ehyou...
That's a good attitude to have....
Yeah, it's a family blog. So about the locker room.....
I think Todd will have to suck again Kentucky-style ... for a full game ... before he gets yanked.
FSJ...
I haven't known you for long, but I expect you supported your team through tough times. That's all I know to do.
Anyone ever hear Legend on JOX radio talking about Auburn and calling our coach Chiznik? It really cheeses me off. Sorry, just needed to get that off my chest.
Calling Saban a fag is way below what I expect from the HOTTIES. Miles below.
Have we learned nothing?
Welcome, Mark!
I have to say that I am a big fan of Ben Tate for so many reasons.
Another good Auburn Football Insider guys. War Eagle.
Thanks ehyou!!!!!! Hope you enjoyed!
With all that said, I honestly believe we beat LSU handily.
cincy,
The "Chiznik" reference is because the mayor of Birmingham, the soon to be convicted Larry Langford, called him Chiznik on Finebaum's show one day.
ehyou....
I've endured my share of crappy teams from 1997-2007...No doubt about it.
Someone drove by practice tonight and saw 3 guys on the field, Malzahn, Trotter, Pugh, a WR and another lineman after practice by themselves throwing balls and getting coached up by Malzahn? My question is why would Malzahn be spending that much time with our 3rd / 4th string qb in the middle of the season?
On the LSU game, I think we know LSU will run non-stop with so-called "Chuck the Truck." Hardesty is a similar back and we shut him down, but something appears to be lacking in the last two games. Any changes in the defensive scheme expected? More in the box and man on the corners?
FSJ,
That may be why he calls him that, but he has been doing it all season. It totally discounts anything he has to say in my book. He's supposedly such a great predictor or whatever you call it of games, but if he can't pronounce Chizik's name correctly I've got no use for him. I just change the station when he comes on.
Eddie I also enjoyed the Auburn Insider. I listened to the entire show. The concensus 7 wins is probably right. I hope for more but don't really expect it.
Eddie,
You said three guys on the field and then named 5. Were there a bunch of people out there practicing? Sorry, just don't get it.
Digger- Again, thanks for listening.
Cincy- I meant 3 guys that were identified for sure. That is fact, not fiction. A poster we all know and love saw it with his very own eyes and took a few seconds to watch.
Very interesting. Wonder what is up? Maybe Chris isn't too fine.
Cincy- Sorry, there were only like 5 players out there.
I didn't know Trotter's knee was healed enough that he could play.
I hope Chris plays lights out for the remainder of the season BUT if his shoulder is bothering him I will be very diappointed if Chizik doesn't make a quick chnage.
Cincy- Me neither. That is why I find it interesting. Trotter was rolling out and throwing on the run from what this person saw.
I will dispatch ElTurbo, who conveniently sits next to Trotter in Spanish, to interview Barrett for HABOTN-Espanol.
Now -Jet - that would be very interesting.
I'm having problems loading the completed video to the website.
Delays are expected.
I'll also have my son-in-law, who is in law school with Barrett's older brother, see what he can find out.
Thats what I like about HABOTN....There are spies everywhere..
Trotter did dress out for the UK game. I think this was his forst time dressing out. Not sure though. The guy next to me said it was his 1st time dressing out.
FSJ-What was fbomb talking about today? I do nto listen but a freind called and said fbomb says he's got info on AU that is not flattering and will hurt AU.
And is this poster we all know and love going to step up to the plate himself/herself?
wtc..I didn't listen today..but he was saying something like that on Monday from what I heard.
Probably just garbage as usual from his show.
That was in response to Eddie's post.
Cincy- He may, but she would have to pull up her skirt.
I haven't listened to Finebaum since the Tony Franklin interview this time last year, but ...
what credible person says something like I have information that will harm Auburn and then not say what it is?
The guy is a joke. A joke. You can quote me. I hope he calls and asks me about it, but I'm way too small for him.
Whoa....
I must be missing something here.. :-)
That was for Eddie.
He did the same thing to Alabama this summer.
Jay,
I hope you can post the video soon, cause I think everyone is hanging out waiting to pounce on the first post. They have left this thread high and dry.
No doubt cincy..
I need to be first....again
Jay-I have been told that he puts out talking points daily to some of the regular callers so when he hints around something, they call and bring the subject up and drop bombs that cannot be defended and Fbomb doesn't refute them. he just lets them go so the listener can run with it.
Wouldn't it be funny if Jay never posted the video and everyone missed the party we are having over here?
I was told later today that he was going to bring more info on the E Smith case that was not flattering to AU.
Also that Tubbs was in NCAA headquarters telling all and it would be detrimental to AU.
How low can he go to stir something up? He did not reveal it today because he is not ready.
This is what i was told so take it for whatever you think it is worth.
wtc..
I can verify that he has staged callers...
A girl I work with has a friend (with a pretty hot voice btw) that called in a couple of years ago giving Barker hell about something.....It caused a big uproar.
His producers called this woman for weeks begging her to be a regular caller. They were going to give her a special number to call, but they wanted her to call daily and be outrageous. She declined.
wtc- I've heard the exact same thing and it makes sense that he would use that method to get points out there.
This is one of several reasons I do not listen to him.
I don't believe that about Tubby. I think he loves AU and I don't think he would do anything to hurt her. Especially because it would have been on his watch. Who would want to hire him? That is a bunch of crap, excuse my language.
Video is UPZ.
Please enjoy the rest of your evening.
REMINDER: I'll be taking your questions on Thursday afternoon. Time is TBA, probably 2 CDT.
I listen to the interviews occasionally..
The other stuff is WWF.
So Tubs was turning himself in for cheating? Does that help get your next HC job?
my friend said Fbomb started this stuff Monday afternoon abotu Au and some guy called in and said, "Paul, I know you can't talk about it, but I know what you are wanting to talk about and ..." he starts talking about it and paul lets him run with it and then others dial in and jump on.
I hear a lot of optimism from Auburn fans for the LSU game, and I see Jay predicts an AU win.
I can't understand the talk about about how bad the LSU offense is(esp. QB), when the Auburn defense has been at least as bad. Why would LSU even attempt to throw the ball considering the way Auburn has struggled stopping the run?
Another scary matchup- Trindon Holliday vs Auburn tacklers. Any of them.
Not trying to be negative, I just see some bad matchups for Auburn Saturday night.
Finebaum's show is painful. He is the Jerry Springer of sports talk radio.
