- He has arrived.
- He's excited about homecoming.
- "We're moving on. We've got more challenges ahead of us. We've got to get back to work, get some things corrected that weren't as good as we felt like they needed to be."
- On Zac Etheridge: "Zac is, obviously for the season, he's out. He's out of the hospital. He's in really good spirits. Some of his teammates have had a chance to see him. He'll rebound from this. He's made a lot of strides since Saturday.
- Will he play again? ``We really can't go in that direction (as far as speculation). We're going to take everything day by day. He's walking. He has full use of his arms and legs and things of that nature. He is expected to have a full recovery. That's a bright outlook."
- On Furman: "It's one of those games where we see some improvement in our game. We have to win the game. After that, we'll have to see where that will fall as far as playing people."
- On the situation at safety: Demond Washington is going to play there. ``Our goal is to put the four best on the field. That's what we're doing."
- On how things will work without Etheridge back there: ``There's a communication gap that will difficult to fill. He always knew what we were trying to do within the defense. That was a huge help. Daren -- he'll have to fly solo. He should be ready to do that. It's game 10. It's somewhat of an issue."
- On how this affects rotations at CB and nickel: "We're going to try to do this with as little disruption as possible. We just have to be smart on not giving him too much stuff. The safety position is going to be his."
- On D'Antoine Hood, who now is in the real rotation: `You have to be ready to participate. He needs to step up."
- On what it means for players to see Etheridge in a good situation: ``This football team is vert close. Zac is one of the leaders of this team. It's really important for the guys to see that he's OK. Anytime a family member goes down ... we saw you never leave a fallen teammate."
- On Travante Stallworth: "He's one of the younger guys who have come on. He's come along. He gets the big pictures. He understands where he can fit on special teams. He's fitting into places right now. He took on some of those places where we'd use Onterio. He's growing up. He's maturing as a football player."
- On regretting taking the redshirt off any freshmen: ``I think we handled every situation just about the only way we could."
- On T-Zac's game against Ole Miss: ``That was what we needed -- we needed somebody to do that. He's come on as a wide receiver. He's come on with his blocking. His catching Saturday really gave us an edge."
- On the timing of Furman and Demond Washington's first game at safety: ``It's going to be a learning experience for him. It's challenging if your first time against Georgia or somebody of that nature. In a perfect world, this is the best time for this."
- That's a wrap.

Ready for bloggin!!!!!!!!1
NOGGIN BLOGGIN!!!!!!
Homecoming Substance!
Oh wait......Blawgin!!
I don't have substance, but it's ok. I haven't seen the substance police today.
I be here.
Scott and E-Bro....I've been hawt the last few days!
that was hawt work WEG. i had to backspace. that's how you got me! :)
This is the time of the week the Romans called Nogginus Bloggimus.
Welcome to the party.
It's okay WEG, I figure there's always space for substance at post#3.
War Eagle Girl ... the hottest thing in the Gump since Hamburger King opened in the early 190s!
I'm only coming to the party if it doesn't rain!! Can't wait to go to a game and actually sit in the sun.......
MAKE IT RAIN CHIZ!!!!!
Is there a line on our game this week?
My Noogin hurts...
Bro- pickem.
Is he here yet? Is he here yet?
When will he be here? I'm hungry. I need to potty.
Just go, man.
Enlightenment is mine!
That's warm.
Enlightenment is overrated. Profound ignorance, now that's true bliss.
that's why I'm always blisstered
Nice catch Michael.
Three cheers for Zac...
Hip, Hip...
Many, many prayers were answered in the affirmative for Zac. I am so very happy for him.
My brain is always on Dumb and Dumber quote alert, ebro.
Demond Washington is your new SS.
Mine too, Michael. Mine too...
On any given day, 78% of my verbal usage can be linked to D&D.
Who's our new 3rd CB?
Can Demond Washington tackle Mark Ingram running skraight at him? I am a little bit worried.
I thought Slade played well (defined as I didn't see him totally stink up anything).
Coach Chizik, I was just wondering. Have you ever made it through a press conference without using the term day-by-day?
i don't think we've made it through a thread in 3 months without saying 'day-by-day'. :)
e-bro, pretty much all of my conversation is dominated by Dumb and Dumber, The Big Lebowski, and Tommy Wiseau's The Room. I really wouldn't know what to say if those movies were taken from me.
Step by step, day by day
Travante has looked impressive
Travante Stallworth just sounds like a football name.
Doesn't it?
I wish my name was Travante Stallworth.
E-Bro: Third CB is lookin like D'Antoine Hood.
Any chance on Stallworth getting some punt returns or kick returns?
Michael, Big Lebowski is another one for me too, amongst countless others.
I guess Slade will be in the rotation just not starting?
T-Zac made one catch. The other reception, Todd stuffed a bomb right down the front of T-Zac's jersey.
Didn't take long for the day by day...
Coach Chizik, is Aairon Savage still day-by-day, or has he degraded to month-by-month?
I saw that not long after Jay. Thanks.
who's hour-by-hour?
minute-by-minute?
dare I say...
nanosecond-by-nanosecond?
Do we think Zac will be at the game on Sat?
i have been impressed with Zachary's & Adam's ability/desire to fight for the football when it's in the air. i can't remember many WR's we've had in the past decade who have been that aggressive to get the football. is it just me? am i missing somebody else?
Sounds like the TN fans think they have a chance at Dyer and Moseley? Doesn't Dyer commit Friday? Any updates wtc?

"In a perfect world, this is the best time for this."
That's a Chizism if I ever heard one.
Scottie b, love your new name and avatar. Very nice.
see, Chiz thinks it's a perfect world. let's all lock arms and sing in harmony. ha.
I think Zac will be at every game. He can provide leadership on the sidelines.
thanks Kathy. props to Eddie on that. it was a team effort. we never leave a teammate behind!
That's a wrap, people. I'm out for now. WDE!!
Thanks, Live-Blogger Tate. My noggin' has been refocused so I must now attend the work at hand...and feet...it's piled up everywhere.
Thanks for the blawgin...better get back to work! Enjoy the sunshine!
THT - I thought we had already talked about the existence of nanoseconds.
Demond will be a challenge for the announcers. Will they be able to make it through a game without adding an S to his name?
I listened to Chizik's press conference.
I have a hard time generating any hate for him.
He seems like a genuinely decent man.
Speaking of Zac, a guy I work with said that Lawrence Lemak, a well-known orthopedic surgeon in Bham, was on PF's show yesterday and said that Zac suffered a fx of C5. I guess it wasn't too bad of a fx or he wouldn't have been released from the hospital already.
FSJ, typical Auburn man. ;-)
Kathy-I wll be SHOCKED if he does not commit to AU this Friday. He has said he was going to look around but I think he commits Firday morning.
Reading the post on Scout was like reading the one where some fans thought that becasue Julio visited AU once and thinks about coming back AU had him.
Dyer told an Arkansas reporter Friday that he was committing to Au on Friday but his recruitment was still open. He wants to visit Ole Miss, LSU, Tenn, and Ark as his official visits.
This is per Rivals.
DO you need a subscription for this link?

This the report on Dyer.
FSJ - you are peculiar in a pleasant sort of way. I couldn't listen to a UA-T coach show even if the coach was my (bammer) hero, Bart Starr.
THT..
They play his press conference on JOX each Tuesday.
I just happened to be in the car.
I think Saban's is on Mondays. Wish I had heard that one yesterday. I heard he was tighter than a drum and went off on Ray Melick.
wtc - link worked fine.
"I'm going to commit to Auburn, but the recruiting process will continue."
I should have used that line at the altar.
LMAO!
2.0, you know I was just trying to be funny, and hopefully succeeded (for the first time). No need to respond with an appropriately unkind commment.
I was also emphasizing the apparent lack of understanding of the word "commitment" amongst the younger folks in the world.
If the "recruiting process will continue" then he's not committed...which would be fine. He can commit whenever he wants, he should just understand what the word means and abide by it.
Ha! THT has to watch for prying eyes around here these days.
Awesome in its awesomeness.

THT ...
We're all to blame for this ... coaches (college and HS), parents, recruiting services, media, and, yes, fans by heaping so much attention on this and pushing for "commitments."
It's not fair to fuss about 17 year olds and 18 years "commiting" and then continuing to take visits. They didn't invent the word "commitment," which has an alternate meeting in the language of college football.
Coaches that withdraw offers and trying to bully kids into not taking visits are the worst.
is Mike Slive going to suspend me for pointing out the lack of commitment to a commitment?
FSJ,
I think you are right about the Chiz. I also think, to paraphrase Trooper, you hear with your heart. If you hear something good, you have some good in you.
Has anyone seen Star Wars: In Concert? Wondering if it's as good as it appears to be.
Sounds like we got a firm maybe from Dyer. I do wish these kids understood the meaning of the word commitment. I blame it on our educational system.
I can't think of one good reason not to take the campus visits. Every one he has left is beautiful, especially this time of year. I hope he has fun.....then I hope he makes the right decision.
A firm maybe...
LOL..reminds me of my dating years.
I guess I'm kinda passionate on this issue.
If you get down to it's not the kids' fault and it's not the educational system's fault.
It's our fault. We demand perfection from our coaches, immediate gratification from our teams, and the eternal souls of 17 and 18 year olds -- or at least it seems that way.
We certainly didn't get upset when Jessel Curry and Ed Christian committed to us despite having committed to other schools. Or Ronnie Brown for that matter.
The system WE have created doesn't recognize the true definition of the word "commitment."
If you've ever broken up with a girlfriend/boyfriend, gotten a divorce, or switched jobs, you can't blame a kid for wanting to change his mind when he hasn't signed a legal document.
I want Michael Dyer to commit to Auburn. I want him to come to Auburn, but I'm not going to say he's a bad boy for visiting other colleges, or even changing his mind -- even if he decides to go somewhere that I detest to my deepest fibers.
Jet -
Our fault? I've got plenty of screw ups to accept responsibility for, but this ain't one of them.
I didn't say anyone is bad for not understanding the meaning of commitment. There really aren't any commitments in recruiting until signing day, so they should use some other term.
can we get in an argument to push the thread count just a wee bit higher ;-)
what's the matter? Too scared to take the bait?
sissy!
I know someone who's not a sissy...
Absolutely ... I know what's coming up.
It's our fault ... our demand for information ... our demand utter for loyalty.
We've created this monster.
Mr Tate - my apology for bloghogging, but I had to get there quickly so I can get back to work. Please don't tell Mr. Slive.
Jet - thanks for your willingness to participate. I was just FAH!
THT ...
Kids don't write the language, they use the language the grown-ups gave 'em.
Look at Jet up on Hoopie's soapbox. Thanks Jet.
It's nice to agree with someone else's rant and to not have to write it.
THT ...
Due to your FAHness, you are entitled to an extra scoop of vanilla tonight.
Hoopie, if you log in as me again, I'll have to get a restraining order.
y'all are funny.
Jet - I will most assuredly collect on that reward, especially since there's not enough cookies&cream left to make a sizable bowl. I'll have that as an appetizer then open up the vanilla for the entree.
I need to buy some ice cream, but we have all that Halloween candy left.
Got an unemployed buddy/houseguest from the Mobile area that is staying with us for a few weeks while he checks out a sketchy employment "opportunity" in the ATL. He volunteered to go get ice cream last night and came back with "store brand" neopolitan. He now understands that we are a BlueBell Ice Cream household.... any flavor as long as it is either ...cookies and cream or homemade vanilla.
Neopolitan ... sounds like one of the One Government New World Order UN types, Hoopie.
Glad to see you put your foot down.
new thread up re: Zac
