I post first ... even when I don't.
dang again
I was refreshing the page and taking a bite of Blue Bell. I believe the Blue Bell delay cost me.
Jet is the most interesting poster in the world.
If you don't believe it, just ask me.
getcha some
He doesn't always post, but when he does, he prefers HABOTN
Jet says.....I don't always post, but when I do ....I post on the HABOTN
Post with substance, my friends.
Dang Sponge ...beat me to it.
At least I was first at something tonight.
Dang Sponge. I stayed away and everything for you that time.
Jet is not to be trifled with.
In response to WEG in the last thread:
"Just need to make a 30 or more on ACT and AU will give them a full ride!"
WEG...you make that sound so easy. I think I'm a reasonably intelligent guy, but the best I could muster on the ACT was a 23. Only took it once, but still.
Jet burned me. I thought I had this one. Especially w/ E-bro cutting me a break.
Sponge ..from last post:
Tiger needs to just put out a number as to how many there have been, then there is nothing more to report. After that the short Ameridan attention spans will forgive through apathy.
Wifey has been watching the Celtic women sing on PBS. They got a few new ones that are nice.
Hoopie ...
In re Tiger, I'm afraid he might sign for an incorrect scorecard.
E- I took it once with a slight hangover. Made a 28 and don't know how I did it. Got nothing, but that was a long time ago. I would get a full ride at UAT and a laptop today. I think the test was easier 25 years ago.
28? Well done. I henceforth bow to each Hottie's superior intellect.
I got my 23 and got out of there. I knew it would suffice for enrollment purposes, so I was happy to never take it again.
Hoop. If Tiger put on silk pajama's like Hefner, and told everyone what he was going to do, no one would care. He cultivated the opposite image, one he couldn't live up to (most of us can't) and he's paying the price. None of my business really, but I was never a big fan.
E- I think AU's requirement was 18 back then, and UA's was 16. They can talk national championships, but AU has always had higher standards. The ones that count.
Anyone watching this crazy football game?
LOL....Sponge you are acting like Auburn is Vanderbilt.
Vandy of Alabama!
So, FSJ. How do I need to pay up?
I'm not for or against Tiger. If Tiger would "sign a correct scorecard"($1 to Jet), the I think the story would die and then we wouldn't have to see it anymore.
LOL..
What was the bet Sponge? I don't even remember.
AU entrance requirements = GT requirements.
Hoopie,
Maybe Tiger doesn't remember how many there were...
$20 or $25. Don't remember either, but the bet was that the tahd would get their letter before the end of the year. (Not that we would ever know it)
What's so annoying to hear with the Tiger thing is when he plays the human card, as in, "I'm a human and I make mistakes."
WTH?! I'm human too, dude, but I just run a red light here and there or don't put a penny in the 711 jar. I don't cheat on my wife and two kids with a bunch of random women.
Bottom line. I think the "I'm a human and I make mistakes" excuse is beyond lame.
So Im playing the #14 team in the nation friday, and they have the #1 player in the nation on their team per rivals (Brandon Knight)
wish me luck hahaha
Sponge I know what the bet was about...I just don't remember the amount.
Thanks HOOP, and INCREASING....
I think Tiger signed his name, a bunch of times...ZING.
Yeah...Just go with the $20....Send it to the cystic fibrosis foundation..I'll link it below..There should be a spot to donate.
I'll match it just in case we've received something that nobody knows about.
CF Foundation
I really think it was $25 FSJ. Because I beleive you proposed $50 initially. But I can't fo sho remember. I would gladly pay $100 if they got that letter.
jhag ....what position do each of you and the #1 play? How much will you be up against him?
Ok.. lets go with $25 then.
It's for a good cause anyway.
consider it done! a good cause.
NBC has the best HD picture.
Thanks buddy...
I play PF he plays PG/combo guard, it will be interesting though because I used to be on the same AAU team as him and so were 3 other players on our team but he got pissed at our team and left because the coach screwed him over...so we shall see
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Brandon-Knight-59767
Good luck jhag. Bring the pain.
hag ....sounds like your alcohol issues are behind you ...hope so.
What kind of league is it Jhag?
Jhag ...
I want you in his face so much that when the game is over I want you to tell me what gum he was chewing.
Its high school bball lol...in a Christmas tournament 32 teams from all over NY, Cali, Texas etc
Well, enjoy the heck out of it. You only go that way once. Good luck.
I don't know what it is about Ted Roof, but he seems to grow on you.
these coaches out on a good note
What exactly was Bart talking about with this part of his statement?
Trooper Taylor "If we had a WR that could throw the ball, then we'd run a reverse pass, but we don't."
I'm glad a minute later he remembered that Kodi was a WR. However that comment says a lot. Not sure if it's saying it about Trooper or about Kodi, but it says a lot.
I can see the sunrise ... even in dense fog.
well, then Jet, you'd be the only one seeing it here. Dense fog and 37; beats the steady rain and high of 37 we had yesterday.
I can slam a revolving door.
How do you spell arrogant?
A-L-A-B-A-M-A
Proof
Do they not realize that Ingram's yardage is in 13 games and the Bo & Herschel stats are from 11 games?
JGT
Based on what you have seen can you stack rank the QB's based on ability and understanding the system?
Tyrik, trotter, mosely, caudle....
just caught up on all the videos. internet out at the hizzie again.
love the new player homes and the intros are sweet.
i like seeing mccalebb in the wildcat. very cool.
ingram may turn out to be worthy of their company, but bo, herschel and alexander are the three best rbs i have seen in the sec since 1980. ingram is already clearly in that second group of great backs but has not approached legend status yet. if he sticks around two more years and avoids injury, he could be up there with absolute greats. something tells me richardson and the passing game are going to eat into his stats some next year.
diggerforAU, IV, aufan365, mytommyd, Sean -
I'm heading to the post office now to mail your tickets to the Outback Bowl.
Look forward to seeing y'all there in The OFFICIAL HABOTN SECTION of Raymond James Stadium.
WARRRRRRRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!
DL: I can't assess those guys. I haven't seen Rollison since mid August. I never saw Mosley.
I don't know who has the best grip on the offense. I'll say this -- I think Rollison will be given every opportunity to win the job.
Eddie would be most displeased if The Rollison Express were derailed before it ever had a chance to leave the station.
WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO- Ausome THT!
Norm, my guess is that a lot will depend upon how Rollison reacts to this suspension. If you look at what happened with Eric Smith, I think his suspension taught him a lesson. If Rollison grows from this he should still have a good shot. It is possible he will be better off in the long run because of this. It could be a nip it in the bud deal.
I will be looking for my ticket THT and really looking forward to meeting all the Hotties.
Some one said that Tyrik apologized on his FB and said he would atone for what he did. I hope this is right. I would love to jump on the Rollison Express but will wait and see.
#67 ED KING
It is easy to forget these players are kids and teaching is a big part of these coaches jobs. Because Rollison got in trouble once isn't something to panic over. Yea, I do think it hurts his chances at being the starter, but the coaches will do what is best for the team.
This has probably been covered, but I just got back in town, so get over it, but I like the new video player much better than the old video player.
Welcome back. The new video player is very nice.
Coming across Lousiana on I 10 in the fog yesterday pretty well sucked.
Actually, driving across LA on I 10 sucks even when the sun is shining.
coming across Louisiana on I-10 in any weather pretty much sucks, j-z. No need to blame it on the weather.
I-10? Its suckticity knows no depths.
can some one teach me how to refresh before posting?
Yeah, well driving across LA on I-20 is awesome!
I just assumed it was great minds thinking alike THT.
I took I 20 on the way out to TX. It's like a damn roller coaster. But not in a good way.
indeed it was, j-z. But my great mind is obviously operating at a much lower rpm than yours.
Choco - you are kidding, right?
I-10 and I-20 both have their charms. Of course, I-20 gets extra suck points for passing by Tuscaloosa.
Eh... I hit I 20 at Cuba, so I miss the stench factor there.
if you're stuck on the interstate instead of the byways, I-77 in VA & NC is very scenic drive
I once drove I-10 from Phoenix to Mobile by myself. I started with sandstorms through AZ and NM, moved to an ice storm across TX, then finished with blinding rain from Lake Charles to Mobile (then a bonus 3 hours of the same rain on I-65 up to Prattville). That was one of the worst road trips ever.
I find the Interstate 59 drive between Fakerville (Gadsden) and E-BroRK-Nooga (Chattanooga)to be quiet pleasant.
I tell you another drive that is long is the stretch from Atlanta to Augusta. It seems like it goes on forever...
I drove to Charleston twice...Never again.
I have no road trips that even remotely qualify for "worst." That category is strictly reserved for trips involving airports.
Jet,
I can make that drive in my sleep... Very pretty drive.
I also like the drive from just before Chattanooga to Nashville too.
MrsTHT and I refer to the ATL>Augusta and the Macon>Savannah drives as "The Wilderness".
THT,
You haven't lived until you have been on a flight with K.C. and the Sunshine band and having a large woman that has a palm tree between her legs sitting right beside you.
FSJ - please tell me you were on the aisle. If not, don't tell me. I couldn't take it.

FYI - driving across Louisiana on I-10 sucks. I thought you should know.
Lets try this again.
I was on the aisle...
Flying out of Ft. Lauderdale pre 9/11. I thought I was going to get by without someone sitting next to me because the seat beside me was empty. I always sit on the aisle seat if I can....They were about to close the door and you hear "STOOOOOPPPP" from up the ramp. I see this woman coming on the plane with this huge palm tree thing... The guys on the next aisle start laughing like crazy because the seat beside me is the ONLY seat left on the plane. I leaned into the isle for the entire flight.
K.C. and the Sunshine band were also on the flight...Naturally I hummed their songs rather loudly while in line behind them waiting to board.
FSJ - I think I can top your flight story. If not top it, at least match it. My hot wife and I once stayed at a hotel in Philly on a floor directly below the floor where the performance group "Stomp" was staying. That's a noisy group of people no matter what time is on the clock.
LOL Norm.
E-BroRK-Nooga? I like that. Anything around the Noog should offer of some nice scenery. We are the Scenic City after all.
The Noog to Huntsville on Highway 72 is another really fine drive.
I used to travel often for work. I've been on so many flights with so many people it's hard to keep them straight.
I was on a flight out of bammerham with the former Lt. Governor of the state...the one that would not leave the chamber to go to the bathroom. He was a nice guy....really.
I've been on flights with several assistants from SEC schools that were out recruiting.
I was on a flight out of Louisville once with some professional "wrasslers".....
That route go through Scottsboro E-Bro?
FSJ, I had a similar experience on a flight. I was on the back row of a plane. There were three seats in the row. I was next to the window. There was a big guy on the isle. At the last moment this huge woman came plodding back. I swear, I could hear her coming way before I saw her. I spent the flight with the side of my head up against the window. Fortunately it was a relatively short flight from Nashville to Raleigh. I don't think I could have took much more.
Nooga to Birmingham on 59 is an awful drive. That patch of interstate is badly in need of repair.
FSJ...yep.
In the last several months between ATL and LAX, I've shared flights with; Dr. J (got to meet him at baggage claim), Al Sharpton, Ludacris, Darryl Hannah, some chick who said she used to be on Walker, Texas Ranger (anyone other than Chuck Norris could tell me that and I'd likely accept it as truth) and some band who were imminently forgettable to me since I'm not a fan.
Unless you are in the fast lane on 59 all you are doing is bouncing on the bumps every foot or so on the highway.
I flew from JFK to Stuttgart on Pakistani International Airlines in 1985. There is no such thing as a worse flight than that. I win.
I have other brushes with greatness too, but I believe those are the only flight-related ones.
Norm,
Did Daryl Hannah look as bad as pictures I've seen of her recently?
Ok j-z....
I've been holding back....
Have you ever been stranded in the Memphis Airport dressed as a pimp? On Halloween?
I have..
Pimpin' ain't easy.
FSJ - yes, I've never thought of her as real attractive but certainly not ugly. Keep in mind that this was a red-eye flight, but she was within spitting distance of being ugly.
I believe you have a story to share with that pimp comment.
It wasn't that night E-Bro.
FSJ, a dollar for a pic of you as a stranded pimp!
Let me guess, FSJ. Since it was Halloween, the folks in the airport mistakenly thought you had dressed for the occasion?
Any Outback Bound Hotties planning to rent a car in Tampa?
Essentially it was Halloween and I was flying out of Louisville...(I think)....It's hard to get a flight out of Louisville to Bham late in the day. So anyway..I maneuvered some things around and had a layover in Memphis...I was going to be cutting things close on getting home. I was going to a party..I was a pimp...My "employees" were counting on me to be there. I decided to dress before the flight so that I wouldn't waste time getting to the party.
Naturally I got stuck in Memphis for several hours. It was fun though. People laughed at me the whole way home.
I used to fly a good bit for work, too (in my pre-chocolate days). On one flight back from Denver I was really hung over from entertaining some guys from a certain really large computer company. Shortly after takeoff, I've got my head down on my tray table and am trying desperately not to be sick. I keep hearing stuff hit the tray table next to me. I look over and the girl next to me has emptied out her purse and is frantically searching through the contents. She looks at me and asks, "Can I write you a check?" I say, "For what?". "Well, I'm scared of flying and need a drink, but I don't have any cash." I notice that among purse contents are some Immodium tablets. I tell her, "I'll buy you a drink for two of those." Anyway, long story short, we make the trade (for two drinks, in fact). I end up feeling a tiny bit better, but she keeps talking to me the whole way back to Nashville, even when I appear to be close to using the barf bag. "Wow, you must feel really bad? Have you ever seen so and so movie? Have you ever been to so and so town? Flying is scary, huh? You sure you don't want me to write you a check?" Man, it was pure misery.
In all my years of flying I don't think I ever was on a Delta flight that took off on time.
I spent 6 hours at the Memphis airport this past summer waiting on a flight to Cleveland. They were having issues with the plane.
They kept giving us updates every hour so it wasn't like we could leave.
Thankfully they just used a different plane, but it took them 6 hours to figure out that might be best.
Norm, I used to travel to LAX every once in a while. I would always be on the lookout for celebrities, but the only one I ever saw was Loretta Swit. I don't think she could play anyone with a nickname similar to "Hot Lips" anymore.
No... but I did have to spend the night in the Newark NJ airport on the return flight home.
Did I mention that about the only beverage they served on the PIA flight was goat's milk?
Damn wrong gmail accounts...
Here's my travel brush with fame that is related to AU football. On the way to NO for the Sugar Bowl after the 04 season, Rece Davis and Mark May were on my flight. Mark talked to some people, but Rece slept the whole time.
Would you like your goat's milk warm or cold, sir?
I missed a Delta flight that took off on time.
One of our ski trips. Stupid forgot to check the tickets and thought our flight was an hour later than it really was. Instead of ATL-Vancouver nonstop, we flew to DFW where we missed the connection because the ATL>DFW flight was late, so they stuck us on a flight to Salt Lake City from whence we got a flight to our final destination. It was our first time to Whistler. Instead of driving up from Vancouver in the early afternoon, we were driving up there in the pitch black night on snow roads, arriving around midnight. The following weekend on the drive back, I realized why I never saw any lights on my left on the way up. It was a steep drop into the sound.
They wheeled the goat down the aisle and served it fresh from the tap.
An AU brush with greatness I'll share is that during the Cotton Bowl where AU lost to TA&M, I was walking into the hotel lobby singing some Stevie Wonder song and Aundray Bruce complimented me on it.
Female goat, I assume?
nice Norm. speaking of Aundray Bruce, i got a present in the mail today from a buddy of mine. a nice 11x14 signed by the great A.Bruce. nice.
I don't know about you upstanding people, but I find it right annoying that some of the people I know and am connected with on FB feel the need to post virtually every minute detail about what they're doing. I often think I'll follow suit just to make a point. Some potential examples:
Norm: just took a crap.
Norm: just farted.
ScoCho - that reminds me of Kingpin.
Yeah, I wonder if j-z had to "warm up" the goat himself.
I made a conscious decision not to find out. I stuck with the water to wash down the yummy airline goat curry that was served.
Long story...
Took a trip for work up to Maine.
On the flight back it was supposed to be Portland to DC to Charlotte to Chattanooga due to cost cutting that was the cheapest trip.
We get to DC on the way back and our 2 PM flight to Charlotte is cancelled. There is a blizard that's going to hit DC that night, so we needed to get south. There were 4 of us and the two ladies who were with us were in a panic thinking we'd be stuck.
There were no other flights to Charlotte that we could get on so I check the board for anything close to Chattanooga and there is a flight to Huntsville at 3:30. So after some negotiation I get us on that flight.
We get to Huntsville and their last flight of the day to Chattanooga is cancelled. However I'm ok, because we are two hours from home. One of the ladies we were flying with suddenly starts negotiating to fly from Huntsville to either Memphis or Cincinnatti because they have tons of flights to Chattanooga from there. WHAT?? Nobody else thought that was a good idea, so what does this 30 year old adult do? She sits down in the middle of the airport and starts crying. We are two hours from home, how is it logical to fly 5 or 6 hours away from home, then fly back home? As I just walk away from the scene I notice that the whole time she's making a scene, her butt crack is just out there for everyone to see.
Well we end up getting a van shuttle trip from Huntsville to Chattanooga and get home around 10 PM. However that was one fun trip back.
Did I mention that the girl who pitched a fit is an Alabama fan?
LOL RK..
You could have left that last part out...
Of course we knew she was a bammer..Her crack was showing.
It's a well known law of nature, those who show their butts are Bammers.
I hate UA-T. Just as much today as every other day. Which is to say, to the MAX.
Slow day, huh?
yep.
looks like everyone was taking a nap while I made my second run to the PO. Unless, all the other Hotties were trippin to their POs, too.
I've got to concentrate...
...concentrate...
...concentrate...
Hello?...
...hello...
...hello...
Echo...

Pinch hitting for Pedro Borbon...
Manny Mota...

Norm goes on a run!
Jim Leavitt reported to have hit a USF player and grabbed him by the throat during halftime of the Louisville game per a report being read by Finebaum.
Here's the link...
USF
They should hire Tuberville.
As Arte Johnson might say - "very interesting"
apparently not
Who remembers the animated version of Arte Johnson?
Nitwits
I watched this a few times when I was a kid.
Arte Johnson and Ruth Buzzi on Laugh In. I mostly remember that.
Of course, that's where they took the characters from. I was a little kid when Laugh In was on, so I pretty much just waited for Ruth Buzzi to hit Arte with her purse. I'm sure I didn't usually know why she was doing it, but I still thought it was pretty funny.
So, Hotties, is puppet hour about to begin or is my international clock off?
THT ..I've done the Vancouver to Whistler drive. We did it in a pickup with a camper shell. Those windy, icy road snaking around the Fiords with 500-1000' vertical drops were intimidating. Bet you drove back slower during the day than at night after realizing the danger.
If I heard TRoof correctly, this was the thinnest D he has ever coached....
Here is the latest brush with greatness that I know about:
Flying back from San Francisco last Wednesday night, a person sat next to me.
Hoopie - MUCH slower, since my eyes were rarely on the road coming back.
my brush with greatness, more like a constant comb-over.... I've lived in the same house as MrsTHT, THTjr, and 2.0!
2.0 being the greatest, of course.
and the most modest....
I've met and had drinks with Hank Jr. With that, I'm going home.
Hoopie,
That's amazing considering Roof coached at Duke.
I see where Gannett stock rose 28% last week. It is pretty amazing what Jay G. taking a week off can do.
I think Roof was talking quantity, not quality.
I ate TCBY's at the ATL airport with Terry Bradshaw on Sunday Nite. It was after his show ended. He was headed to La ...I was headed to NY. He's a Regular dude.
I had a drink with Jay Leno. He was gathering data to do a special on Philadelphia. A couple of us ran into him on South St., walked a couple of blocks with him and took him into our fav Irish Bar and bought him a drink. He was kinda scattered.
Skied a run with Gloria Estaban, her hubby and kid at Crested Butte. He was funny, she seemd nervous about being recognized. Kid was great.
Alright, we need to average at least a post a minute for the next 25 minutes or so to flip this thing before I have to leave. The mass chaos of a Cub Scout pack meeting awaits!
Hmmm, doesn't look like it's happening. The absence of Michael and Harrison definitely tend to slow things down during puppet hour. I wonder if Harrison's mom was okay when Michael popped up out of a suitcase once they got to Hawaii?
tend = tends
I ran into Charles Barkley in the Super Foods on Vaughn Road in the gump about 10 years ago. Have no idea what he was doing in MGM. Ran into Joe Cribbs at the Burger King on the Southern Bypass in the late 80s. Finally, stood right next to Joe Paterno at some downtown KC hotel. He was gripping about his bill, and looked the same then as he does now.
I rode up an elevator with and spoke to Vince Lombardi.
not in person, you didn't
i stand corrected, my apologies.
I know I've told this on here before, but now I feel compelled to mention the time that Bo Jackson got his groceries mixed up with mine at the A&P. Also, we've made chocolates for Peter Frampton and Ruben Studdard. We made the ones for Ruben right after he won American Idol, and I subsequently got invited to his Christmas party. I was the only white guy there besides one of the bartenders. By the end of the night, my nickname was "White Chocolate".
Perhaps Norm will reappear in a little while for the turnage. Good evening, all!
Quantity or quality, it's still amazing considering he coached at Duke.
Forgive the tirade, but I need to blow off some steam. I'm driving home from work when a car pulls out in front of me. No other car behind me, but they have to pull out in front of me. All the time I'm thinking where is a cop when you need one? In my rearview mirror, I see blue flashing lights, so I pull over to let him pass, but he pulls in behind me! Young cop walks up to my car and starts lecturing me about the safe distance behind a car, and I tell him he apparently didn't see that car pull out in front me. No he didn't see that car pull out in front of my truck. He then goes back to his car to check to see if I'm a wanted felon, because I'm 51 with red hair. I'm sure I looked dangerous!!! When he comes back to my truck, he tells me that he was going to write me a warning ticket, but he saw how I was an Auburn fan (license tag) so he figured my year had been bad enough. EXCUSE ME..........I told him I could tell he was an arrogant Alabama fan and I wish he would write me a ticket so I could tell the Mayor, Chief of Police, etc just what kind of cops he has patrolling our streets and harassing the citizens. What a waste of taxpayer money. Why is it that Alabama fans are so concerned about us Auburn fans? Why can't they just enjoy their season and quit worrying about us. AUBURN is now and will always be fine!!!
I saw Charles Barkley at my school several times when I was in High School at Emma Sansom. He was close to one of the teachers (Watkins) that was some sort of Auburn booster. He used to come by and see her occasionally.
I also ran into him at Best Buy off of 280 in bammerham a little less than a year ago. He was very nice to everyone that spoke to him.
I met Dolly Parton many years ago when she came to the hospital to visit her sister in Huntsville. She was unrecognizable without the makeup and wig, but we knew the patient was Dolly's sister.
I went to school with Bobby Lee Hurt. Also went to school with Mark Komaro, but he is not to be mentioned at Auburn!
Roger Clemens held me when I was a baby.
I met Jared the Subway Guy at Pinehurst, but resisted the urge to kick his butt.
Your a better man than me Steve, I would have at least had to give him a wedgie.
I met Steve McQueen and Sterling Moss at Sebring back in the 60s. THT, thanks for everything you did in getting the HABOTN section organized at the Outback Bowl as well as for the procuring of and distribution of the ducats to the game. My sons and I are so looking forward to this trip. 2.0, if you are still lurking, I think having the opportunity to met and talk with you in person will be one of the highlights of the trip, right up there with an Auburn win. WAR EAGLE everybody.
IV - it's 2:15 a.m. in Florence. I'm not paying her tuition so that she can lurk on HABOTN at this hour!
Brushes with greatness...
IV, you win. Steve McQueen is probably the coolest man of all time. As a auto and motorcycle racing junkie he is definitely one of my heroes. And meeting Stirling Moss would have been pretty cool too.
I read an interview recently with the stunt guy who did the fence jump in the great escape and part of the chase scene in Bullit. He said Steve was pissed he didn't get to do those scenes, the director didn't tell Steve he wasn't doing them until they were already done.
that's cool, NoVA!
Hey, why isn't that guy wearing a lab coat?
I was just watching How I Met Your Mother. Marshall was wearing an auburn t-shirt under his jacket. What is his connection with Auburn if any?
Paging Norm...
I thought that was an AU shirt... but I didn't want to make a fool of myself if it wasn't...
I just paused the DVR, and yep.... it is an Auburn shirt...
Cool shirt too, never seen one like it.
Looked liked an old t-shirt.
Boom?
We had Obama in the lab a couple of months ago, but that time they only let a few people stay for it. Bush shook hands with the whole lab.
That was the only time I've ever worn a tie to work.
