Happy New Year!
Good job. My work here is done.
We did it!
Now, let's just hope JGT doesn't have a coronary.
I say we go for 2000.
What's the record?
Hate Bama. Hookem Horns.
A lot of stretching by Tebow, we must have a muscle spasm situation or some major medical issue.
Check Tebow cam for updates.
99 Bottles of Beer on the wall.......
I think we took it near 1500 one night... it might be tough to get to the record...
99 Bottles of Beer on the wall.......
@Jet
last time I was in NO for New Years
Prime Time had a non call pass interf that cost us the Sugar Bowl
I always thought Sugar bowl has the best weather and is the best time to be in NO, more than Jass Fest and Mardi Gras
I have been in New Orleans for both New Years Eve and Mardi Gras.
Wild..Wild stuff.
Jimmy ... I was there for Syracuse and FSU and one other time.
I wonder if Eddie George still thinks that Cincy will pull the upset a la Utah last year??
Tebow cam = hilarious.
TN basketball players = not so funny. Thugs.
The Cincy punter almost whiffed.
i was there for OU, 'cuse, and VT. I'm a boring person, so N'awlins ain't my cup of tea.
That would have been hilarious if the punter whiffed...
1020
They don't call it UThug for nothing...
Man, I need to get my glasses back on ... I thought DMiller's avatar was the X-ray of a pelvis.
What is with the Coach Urban Meyer chant?
E-Bro says Florida lost to bama. Due to jhe F helmets.
and you're just now saying something about it?
Why do you feel for him? He chose to leave before the bowl game... he could have stayed and coached this game before jetting off to shamrock pastures...
Brian Kelly took a better job, and needed to work for his new school. It's part of the deal.
right... but, I don't feel bad for the guy
I agree, DM. I don't understand why they were throwing a pity party for Kelly.
I don't either. The kids get to go to New Orleans. Coaches come and go.
Coaches look out for each other. It called "The Vitale Syndrome."
From Tyrikstalker.com ...
"I want to be the number one so my work starts now...see yall in August...WAR EAGLE!!"
"Stay Tuned for 2nd half acton from the Tebow cam live stream on foxsports.com"
Is anyone disappointed that they didn't follow him into the locker room? No? Didn't think so.
It is funny that they couldn't spell 'action' correctly.
Tyrikstalker.com? facebook?
D.Miller - I think they misspelled actor. Apparently, that's a stunt double y'all have been watching.
August? He isn't going to be at A-Day?
I don't think I went to see Tebow's live stream in the locker room.
IF you're the coach at UF... do you play Brantley in the 2nd half or tebow?
Tyrik must have some work to do this spring to get back in Chizik's good graces. Hopefully he will do it.
Me?... I put tebow out there to start the half... and bring him out to a roaring ovation and put brantley in to finish it.
I'm fading fast, Hotties. Halftime about did me in and I need to recharge so I'll be at full strength for Penguins hockey tomorrow in the St. Pete Times Forum. Of course, it's in downtown Tampa, not St. Pete.
I would just like to say Tebow, Tebow, Mike "WTF" Leach, Tebow, Urban Meyer, Tebow, Tebow, Brian Kelly, Tebow, Tebow, Hugs, Tebow, Tebow, Tebow.
After seeing Eddie's opinion on Tyrik, I do think he needs to hit the books, bend over, and pucker up, or he is going to end up at Blinn college.
Now, if we could get Leach Cam, I'd probably stay up until 4 a.m. hyped up on Red Bull just to see the fun.
Wow, the announcers actually say something interesting. Arm strenght is about the 6th or 7th thing you worry about with a QB. That is very true and we talk about arm strength way too much. I just isn't the critical thing with a QB.
I am so tired of hearing about Leach!
Still another quarter to go.
Well, when he ends up being the next head coach at North Central Texas State University of the Blessed Redneck, you won't hear from him no more. No major college would touch him after what he has been doing.
Another long day. Getting tired of Disney now. Got one more long day in the park.
I wonder if Kristina has a pair of these....
http://teebows.com/
My wife wonders how many times a week Tebow hooks up with a girl wearing a pair of those...
What a game today. A couple of notes:
I emailed ESPN to let them know how much Greise loved NW.
AU plays hard but needs to get the penalties under control.
8-5 is better than 7-6.
Chizik will be fine at AU.
We had the stage to ourself and still did not capitalize.
Hopefully with more talent coming, AU can run this offense with better efficiency.
Tired of Disney, is that possible?
Listening to Greise today was sickening... I've never witnessed such a pathetic display of homerism in the booth than that.
Yes, Kathy.... it is very much possible
Hopefully Gus gets a better feel for what he can and can't run at certain times next year.
Obviously, he's just not totally comfortable with what he has to work with. Some of the play calls were just bizarre.
You live, you learn, though, and we won anyway. Not a bad day's work.
Tired of Disney? Don't dare utter those words in Eddie's presence.
Did JGT have to go back to Montgomery today?
wtc, I agree on Greise. I guess since he played at Perdue he has a built-in prejudice for the Big 10. His comments about the roughing the kicker call were laughable. Especially in light of the earlier no-call on NW for running into our punter.
Kathy-16 hours there yesterday. Arrived at 8:00am at park entrance and left at 12:45am this morning.
Fireworks were awesome (best I have ever seen and I have been to Disney about 40-45 times in the past 19 years.
In honor of Tebow's final game...
------------>
Here's the legitimate answer ... if your starters are in, up 44-17, and you're passing, yes, that's running it up.
twice a year? no wonder you're sick of the place!
After 3 intercetionsthey were still saying how great Kafka was. Like the AU defense had nothing to do with the stops.
Coming to Broadway this spring ...
"Evi-Tebow" with the powerful ballad "Don't Cry for Me, Urban Meyer."
Like Eddie said. ESPN's array of commentators seem to be largely born and bred in the Big Ten.
Griese, Spielman, Herbstreet, Musberger (Northwestern I believe).
Blackledge too, but I'm willing to look past that b/c I think he's superb.
Anyway, game over, move on.
I heard today from someone that
"it's not about who wins or who loses as long as you are the one that wins."
I agree Tebow is a terrific kid and a great football player and I appreciate his outspoken faith, but I am so sick of hearing about him I could throw up.
Face it, Cincy, you threw up ON Tim Tebow.
Is there a story yet on the announcers referring to Northwestern as "we" 3 times during the game?
Could it be that Tebow won't be able to run for president because he was born in the Phillipines? Man!!!!
Personally, I'd rather hear more about Tebow than about Urban Meyer.
This whole 'leave of absence' thing is going to blow up in his face. If I was recruiting against him I wouldn't hesitate to tell prospects that he's as big a nutcase as Leach. Maybe bigger.
I feel bad for our friends who are coming through for lunch on their way back to Cincy tomorrow. I mean, what do you say? Sorry you got your a-- kicked?
Turfman-I did hear clapping when NW came back. I thought it was actually being done by those inthe booth, but I could not really tell.
I'm sick of hearing about Corch Irvin Meyer, too, almost as much as I got sick of hearing how NW hadn't won a bowl game in 60 years. Why do they have to go on and on about the same thing?
I feel sorry for the Cincy kids too. They played hard even with their coach abandoning them. It is just the difference between the SEC and most other conferences. The number two team in the SEC is better than most.
But I am very excited about Auburn football next year. I think it is going to be a very good year.
Here's to Chizik for making it 61 years!!!
I heard either Lou Holtz or Rece Davis say earlier that they thought Northwestern's game against us was almost as impressive for the Big Ten as Penn St's and Ohio St's wins.
Umm...what?
Anyone know what the announcers were talking about when they were discussing Kelly leaving? They said something about the NCAA changing rules so that coaches could stay and coach the bowl game before going to a new school. I didn't understand what they were talking about.
Northwestern was 5-3 in their BCS conference and we were 3-5 in our BCS conference and yet some are making it out to be some David vs Goliath battle.
My final words for the night ...
SCOREBOARD!
Good night, HOT ONES.
We have an excellent chance of having a great year next season. I don't see any huge holes to fill if we get most of this recruiting class in house.
I am also looking to see how Mike McNeil doesn't next season. He was suppose to be the #1 safety in the nation coming out of high school. If he picks up his game, our defense could really look good.
I would like to have another playmaker at defensive tackle, but other than that I think we are set.
That is assuming that some of this QB talent proves to translate into solid play.
Well said Jet.
Concise and to the point per usual.
I think Tebow is coming in for one more play.
Good night, Jet. Happy New Year.
Goodnight Cincy. Sorry your team had a rough night.
Thanks, Steve, I really don't care too much, except for all the friends we made when we lived in Cincinnati who are UC fans. My team had tough go of it, but they won! War Eagle!!
Night all. I be we all sleep good tonight. i am still exhausted from that 4+ hour game!
be=bet
Whitaker+ Thorton= DT playmakers
I hate to be doom and gloom so let’s just say Roof has alot to prove. I was in favor of bringing in a DC from the NFL. Someone who would bring a more disciplined style of play for the Defense. There is no doubt bringing in more playmakers on the offense will make it lethal. With 6 scholorship Special Teams players we better be good there too or it will be a waste.
Turfman sneaking in for a late night visit. You think we get Whitaker and Thornton?
Don't you think Roof was hampered by our lack of depth?
Looks really good for Whitaker...Thornton is hard to read but I trust this staff in recruiting.
Sounds like Urban may not be taking that leave of absence after all...??
FYI: Outback Bowl on ESPN at 2:00 a.m.!
Maybe hampered but wow we are out of position alot. I am not suggesting fire the guy but im just a little worried.
Hard to read the Urban situation.
Played A LOT of young guys. Played some guys A LOT. Maybe it was the best we could do this year. Roof has a good reputation. We know what kind of DC Chizik was.
Picture is priceless>>>>>>
The look on that girls face makes me lol
I saw that girl on the sideline.
McFadden got knocked in the head on the final play of regulation and sat out the overtime.
I missed this.
And this.....
"Safeties Daren Bates and Demond Washington both fought cramps near the end, so much so that Washington had to be carried off the field by teammates once the game ended."
I do like Roof and I would not favor getting a coordinator from the pros. Coaching in the pros is far different from coaching in college. Dealing with the mentality of kids is much different that dealing with the mentality of profressionals. I do think Roof will be a very good DC and I think we have seen it this season with how he handled the situation. On offense we didn't have the ridiculous depth problems we had on defense.
Most of the season we only had around 3 linebackers that the coaches thought were ready to play. Typically you would have over twice that many.
Depth in the secondary looked to be a strength until attrition took its toll. We weren't in much better shape in the secondary after the season got rolling. Etheridge getting injured put us is a seriously bad situation.
On the defensive line, things were not as bad. Rocker had said he had about 9 players he felt comfortable playing, which is about right.
Good Morning.
Auburn is still undefeated in 2010
Without wading through the 1,000+ comments....did Toro play in the game?
Don't remember seeing him or hearing his name.
War Damn Eagle from Korea. I hate that I missed the game.
Howdy Hotties! We'll be off to the Tampa Bay History Center soon, then some Penguins hockey.
JGT drove back to the Gump after the game/interviews yesterday. Can't wait to hear from him today.
Woke up this morning feeling 50 years older, today is recovery day.
Klaus he played, but wasn't his best game.
Wake, I'm currently reading "The Coldest Winter" by David Halbersam, its about the Korean War and is a very good read that I would recommend it to anyone who likes the war/history genre.
I think the jury's still out on Roof. He'll never put up the kind of numbers previous coordinators did because 1) the game has changed and opposing offenses are much more potent, and 2) our own offense puts our defense on the field many more times than our power running offenses would have. Given his limited resources and the injuries I think he did "OK". He has received a lot of credit from other coaches for the job he did in stopping the Alabama power running game.
I heard Toro was still having ankle issues and would be limited.
OK - I've had it with the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Auburn has Atlanta's third largest fan base (remember - Atlanta is as large as the State of Alabama), and yet we get NO press. We only get write-up's when we're Georgia's opponent.
The only mention of the Outback Bowl this morning is a rip and print of a wire report.
I've already sent an email expressing my displeasure to the editor.
grrrrrrr
Good Morning hot ones! Ready to watch some of the future AU stars shine in the Under Armour game this morning?
Yep waiting on the Under Armour game this morning.
Was something up with NW's Wootten or was McCain that good? I read so much about him this week, but I don't remember him being much of a factor on D.
And Drew Cole played in the OT. I read where Walt got hit in the head and didn't play in OT. Crazy stuff yesterday.
Wes Byrum scored the winning points with his 21-yard field goal in overtime. He has been so consistent for Auburn.
Kathy,
Didn't Byrum only have one missed field goal this season? And did he miss any extra points?
What time is the under Armor game?
I found the stats on Wes. 54 out of 54 extra points and 15 out of 16 field goals. Missed one at TN. Pretty consistent.
UA 10 CT on ESPN
Thanks!
You can question calls. You can question decisions by coaches and players, but Auburn won Friday because those players, exhausted and hurting, wouldn't give in even when everything said that they should.

Too bad I am going to miss the Under Armour game. It is 45 degrees here in Orlando and we are headed out to the park. Thank goodness this is my last day here. Ready to get back and catch up on recruiting.
Anybody commit while I have been gone?
JayG-Good articles today in the Advertiser. Read them all this morning, per usual. Thanks for your hard work at the game yesterday.
Have fun wtc. We're ready for you (and your mom) to get back to your recruiting update duties!
Mornin', Hotties!
I concur that Jay G. has again delivered substance in the Montgomery Advertiser--good articles.
I am looking forward to at least one easy win in 2010.
Jay,
You have been busy! Just finished reading all of your articles in the MA. Great job. Anxious to hear about the behind the scenes things you witnessed.
Nice run by Dyer.
Great run by Dyer!
Needs to protect that ball though.
JGT, great articles. Thanks for your hard work.
I wish I never had to see another fumble :)
Are we supposed to have any commits announce at this game?
Cody missed the extra point.
UF has 8 commits in this game. Don't we have a bunch too?
Don't think so Cincy, unless Dyer convinced some.
I think Auburn had 6 commits playing.
Someone do a check on Jay G, he might have went back to the casino and never returned.
War Eagle! A great way to start off the new year!
WERK, I believe JGT is back home. Hope so anyway.
Auburn Commits:
White Team:
#5 RB - Michael Dyer
#7 WR - Antonio Goodwin
#81 TE - Dakota Mosely
Black Team:
#15 DE/LB - Ladarius Owens
#18 K - Cody Parkey
#50 LB - Jake Holland
Targets:
White Team:
#55 DE - Corey Lemonier
#64 OL - James Stone
Black Team:
#76 OL - Eric Mack
Parkey battling some nerves he's not getting solid contact on his kicks...
Cody looks so young.
That made me gag just a little.
me too, Kathy; it was just flat out gross.
Will they mention the AU commits or show Dyer in AU gear?
not if Rece Davis has any say in it, NoVa
So Saban showed him the depth chart and showed him how much they needed him. Who does Saban diss? See this guy, he's no good. See this guy, he won't be there next year. Yada Yada Yada These kids are buying his garbage and then they go sit on the bench or gray shirt.
what an alabama love fest
Finally!
Lots of good AU pub right there. DYER IS A BEAST!!! He's head and shoulders above the other talent out there...nobody has stopped him yet. The 29 yard run, the 11 yard run. He looks really good out there.
Goodwin looks great at WR also...made a very nice grab a bit ago.
Mosely is a long snapper?
Glad to see the AU fans there too.
Final season stats if anyone is interested.

I wish Darvin Adams would have gotten 3 more yards.
ok, I confess. I didn't even realize I could have gone to the Under Armour game this morning. We could have been up with our HABOTN.COM placards with those AU fans and their banner.
WERK - they should be able to find another 36 inches if they review the tape of all his catches this season.
too bad Joyner isn't going to UA-T
While we're all here watching a big recruiting game, who are the remaining targets and the % we have of getting them?
Any of our guys wavering?
I'll start with Lattimore and the LB Mosley...what's the feeling on these two?
Here are the Auburn fans at the All Star game.
Fans
Thanks, FSJ, I saw that when they flashed it across the screen. Great sign.
When life gives you lemons, sign Lemonier!!!
Good one THT. We could use him.
Jay W., I don't think CJ Mosley is likely, but nothing would totally shock me with this staff. They do perform miracles.
Anyone know what are realistic chances are with Lemonier?
our
very good, cinci...
We'll have to wait for wtc (and his mom) to quit playing at Disney to get his answer on Corey. Mr. Miller might be able to give us his opinion.
UA-T will be in dutch when we get Holland!
Haven't seen a lot written about Lemonier.
As for Lattimore, I do think we have a realistic shot at him.
Thank you! I thought I had read where our chances were pretty good, but FSU seems to be putting together a pretty good class.
Corey Lemonier is doing very well.. would love to add him to the stable
We look good with Lattimore and with Lemonier... USCe and FSU will be the ones to beat with those two respectively... however, I think we currently hold a lead for both.
yep, last week, wtc's mom thought we had a real good chance with Lemonier.
What about Eric Mack? Think Dyer can convince him?
DM, that would be incredible. This recruiting season has been like no other I have seen at Auburn. In September I thought we were doing about average, or possibly a bit below average.
Now I look at our class and it may be the best we have had at Auburn. That isn't assuming we get someone else, which is likely.
You have to admire the choices Chizik has made, particularly in terms of selecting coaches. It also seems pretty hilarious how some people were against the hire. Remember Billy Joe Bob at the airport? I wonder where that kid is now?
Anyone think that kid doing the halftime show might need to get mommy to help him pull his pants up?
I was thinking he probably has a day job as a plumber.
"Sure, Fitz, that may have helped the good ol' boy from the Auburn press corps who called you "one crazy coot." .....
Consider Auburn had to lose two fumbles in the final 2:37 and commit a face-mask penalty and roughing-the-kicker penalty to put the Wildcats in a position they never would have been in against a team whose players' football IQ was higher than its national ranking."

Hey peeps.
I arrived home around 3 a.m. from Tampa. I owed you all a post-game report last night, but I had a loooooong drive ahead and getting out of Raymond James Stadium was my top priority.
So I'm working on a wrap-up now.
That column is laughable.
Funny.
so glad you're home safely!
Yea, it's JGT. We were afraid you had gotten lost in the casino!
In line at soarin. Kathy+90% on getting those you asked about.
Any feelings on these guys:
Jeff Whitaker
Mike Thornton
AU Undercover, which has been dead on when it comes to AU commitments this year, has reported that Lemonier is a lock (supposedly to commit today) and that Whitaker, Thornton, and Lattimore are AU bound. Also noted that they have a "strong belief" that Mack will de-commit from SC and come to AU.
AU Undercover been 100% correct so far, and if they nail these 5, we'd quite possibly round out a top 3 class. Very exciting year for AU!
Hopefully, our coaches can teach Dyer to block and pick up the blitz.
I have the new thread UPZ.
I'll be working on it ...
Jay W, are you a paid endorser of AuburnUndercover.com or what?
