HABOTN hits the road
Hey everyone. Our HABOTN Recruiting Team® will be heading down I-65 momentarily in search of an offensive lineman from Spanish Fort.
You may know him better as Reese Dismukes.
He's one of the state's top prospects ... and today he'll be choosing between Auburn and Alabama. Does this mean the HABOTN knows something? No. My track record on these kinds of trips is mixed.
Dismukes' announcement is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Our Recruiting Team® will post once they arrive on site.
ALSO: My friend and rival Charles Goldberg, he of The Gold Mine fame, is having invasive shoulder surgery today. Please keep him in your thoughts.

Get Well Charles Substance!
Jay G knows something...he know's there will be a commitment today :).
last post on prior thread:
CHB- Ditto what Jet said regarding Kemp. Would like to have him. He says he still is coming to AU. Needs to get academics in order from what i hear.
Cothron. I think he has eliminated UAt from his list. Barbee has made a huge effort to get him. Mom likes our chances on getting him
JayG-Time to increase your averages on recruits picking AU.
I don't think Kemp will ever arrive at Auburn ... but I could be wrong.
I say Auburn gets Cothron.
From OMG Facts' twitter feed:
"Einstein's final words died with him. Why? The nurse at his bedside didn't speak German!"
Kemp potentially not showing up at Auburn sucks. Hope by some miracle he makes it.
ROAD TRIP!
Just come to Auburn dude!
Einstein's last words "Beware of 2012"

recruiting as the top news already...man, where's football season???!!!
Krootin' never sleeps.
Yeah but what if Einstein's last words were: "I was full of it and made half of it up." Nobody wants to hear that. German or otherwise.
Get well soon, Charles.
JGT,
you are welcome to South Alabama... if you come through Mobile shout out to me and i will buy you a burger at a great joint here....or seafood at Wintzels downtown....
I always take care of the HOTTIE CEO!!!
Bring us back a center Jay!
Wintzell's....yummy.
Are we supposed to think of Charles in rivalry spirit? As in, "Charles I hope they find twenty extra bones in your shoulder and you can no longer write. The HABOTN will take over the (Auburn Beat) world."

I really wanted Shawn Kemp at Auburn. A true center is hard to find.
I just don't get it, I know our country has issues in its education system, and I lots of people, the vast majority in fact, did not have the opportunities I had. I was blessed to no end by a DAD who worked his rump off fixing phones for 33 years.
That said, I do not understand not getting your work done in the classroom. I never will.
The PG Salter was moaning about a math class.
DUDE, ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS PASS MATH 120 AND THEN YOU COULD GET INTO AN SEC SCHOOL WITH A NEW ARENA AND PLAY FOR A COACH WHO RUNS VARIANT OF THE CALAPARI OFFENSE!!!!!!!!!! Heck, the only A I ever made in math at the college level was math 120. Now I hear this about Kemp. It makes me sick.
I can understand someone like Jeremy Richardson, with all the issues in his family and he is obviously trying to right the ship, but some of these basketball guys just make me angry.
That Salter guy, when I read that, it just got my goat. (Obviously)
Jay, if Stephen Davis shows up, you can probably leave early.
If there are major concerns on whether or not Kemp will make it then I think we should cut our losses now and get someone else.
On Cothron I was hearing just a week ago that he was about to commit to the walmartians. Glad to hear they are out of it. If we can get him and Langford I think next season could be looking a lot better.
I know the thing about S. Davis is a joke, but people made too much of it. Davis was,is and always will be an Auburn man. He wanted Lattimore to do what he felt in his heart. No crime in that.
With 3 of the top linemen at their positions already committed (assuming Dismukes doesn't pull a Region) I think a top 5 class can easily be attained again. Thoughts.
I know it's just a spring game, but has anyone heard the discrepancies with the attendance at the walmartians a-day game? UA officials were saying it was full capacity but no effort was made to actually get a count. From what I heard there were several sections that were pretty empty. I saw clips on ESPN and there were a lot of holes. Like I said I know it was a spring game but its funny how they always try to spin things.
Am I the only one at work not working?
CH- Pretty much.
I'm not working, much. Stupid Testing.
I am at home not going to class.
I have yet to work at work.
But I've been too busy on Bejeweled Blitz to do anything else.
I'm kind of working at work, but I'm about to get a second monitor installed on my computer.
Huzzah!!
S Coats - that's great. I've actually had to work at work today for the first time this week.
I'm trying to get a second monitor so I can do double nothing.
Y'all be quiet, I'm trying to work.
Back in the day when I worked I was never on the WEB but knew about it. Work consumed a lot of my time but could have found time for HABOTN, what a waste. Just glad to be here now.
JGT you need to do better than you did on your trip to South Carolina for whats his name.
My thoughts are with you sir Charles. Hope for succssful procedure and fast recovery.
I wish I had more to do. Not to toot my own horn, but I am a very efficient person. I do by 1000-1100 what takes most people in my position almost all day. I've repeatedly asked for more work. I even volunteer to travel to get out from behind this desk. If they want to pay me a full day for a half days work then that's on them.
Take it if you can get it, CHB.
At the end of the day I don't mind, but man does the day go by slow.
Yeah, I've been there. I can only handle internet surfing for so long.
Though the HABOTN is always good, of course. Always try to make time for it.
Good for you CH=B except for the 12 years working in the space program in Huntsvlle I always had more to do than time to do it in. In Hunstville we had more Engineers than we needed but everywhere else Engineering was always understaffed and we worked long hours most of the time.
Jet's Mid-Morning Cliff Notes
*-Shawn Kemp Jr., was blessed with a dad who procreated enough children to fill several signing classes. Maybe we'll get another one.
*-Stephen Davis has been admonished. Case closed.
*-Auburn could go from also ran to competitive in the West in a HURRY in hoops. It might not be pretty, but it can get done.
*-If Dismukes chooses anyone other than Auburn, then I wouldn't be more surprised if I woke up in the morning with my head sewn to the carpet.
*-Einstein's last words: "This is my Theory of Relativity II: All UAT fans are cousin humpers. Ich bin ein HABOTN Hottie."
Maybe Goldberg will now be able to throw a football farther than Chris Todd.
Jet- That last point is more fact than theory.
FYI - The Stephen Davis thing was meant totally in jest.
Also, if a Hottie decided to try and make a HABOTN sign and then take said sign to the Today show (say on Monday Morning) and try to get it on TV would the hotties approve.
What if said hottie was wearing a Ben Rothlisberger jersey and a Tiger Woods cap? Would that be too much? If not I need to find a Rothlesberger jersey.
i know of a hottie who took a HABOTN sign to Turner Field for opening day. said hottie is a pillar of hotttness. you have my blessing on the sign. chop-chop! :)
That would be STUpendous!!
I'm not buying JG's road trip photo on the thread front. Last time I checked, there ain't no mountains between the Gump and Mobile.
I like getting some OL early in the recruiting cycle. OL are typically more loyal and therefore less likely to decommit. That stability should increase skill player interest.
Was just told the Bama Rivals site isn't even covering Dismukes. Is this true?
The announcements of other UAT commits lately, I believe, are timed to coincide with Dismukes' decision.
Just the nature of the game.
Eddie,
Thanks for asking. We are very busy developing 1 acre commercial properties for one client all around Georgia. I'm going 70 hours/week and that is a blessing.
We are at the same time deep in debt with the wolves near the door due to 5 underperforming-vacant residential and commercial developments caused by the real estate crash. I've been trying to discern the blessing from this situation and other than
"lessons learned", have yet to be successful.
Get well, Goldie.
CH=B.. It was essentially full. I was there. Pics on my facebook page prove it. I have others if you'd like... :-)
Essentially full sounds like not quite full to me. Definitely not the same as busting-at-the-seams-full
Essentially full sounds like another volume in the Bama Fan Fiction section at your local library.
Capacity as of las Saturday was 92,000 plus. We had 91,000.... So essentially full applies.
Your Bama propaganda is not welcome here.
Was there an official count? Tickets taken?
Seanzie, I'll post pics tonight. You can count the empty seats if you'd like.
I will and I bet there are more than a thousand.
I will need multiple angles of the same sections and preferable and overhead shot. I hope you can meet these requirements.
LOL.. Sure thing.
Stu, I vote "Yea" on the sign and "Nay" on the jersey/hat combo. How about an AU/Braves combo instead?
Slow day today and I'm putting off lunch. Taking lunch too early is the kiss of death on making a day go by faster.
Even with multiple camera angles, UA-T had way more than AU. They rule. We suck.
I start wanting lunch about 10:30. I never make it past 11:15.
We're the pits of the world. Vultures, even.
$.25 to Johnny Mac.
Hoopie- Keep hanging in there. Glad to see you and the your customer are still doing a lot of business together.
Things are looking better on our side now, so hopefully that will continue on.
Big Ben will be sat for 4 to 6 games. You can read more Here.
As long as he sits the first one against the Falcons I'll be happy.
PF, not cool. haha
So i stopped watching the braves game when there were 2 outs in the bottom 9th, guess that was a bad call
The Steele kid that AU basketball released signed with Miss State.
At UAT, the spring game is a family reunion/speed dating event, so I would expect a capacity crowd.
Clearing the dugout before McLouth rounded the bases last night was awesome.
I also liked Wagner picking up the win and sticking it to the Phils.
Jamie Moyer's starting Friday's game. Dude turns 48 later this year. That's incredible.
clearing the dugout into the clubhouse was hilarious
reggie bush has settled with the would-be agents that paid him while he was at usc. basically so he would not have to be deposed under oath and get caught lying and making things worse. it's basically an admission of guilt, why else do you hand someone a big fat check for nothing? it probably just confirms what the ncaa already knows.
can you say: vacation?
and not the type to cancun...
No way he's 48. Jamie Moyer is older than his father-in-law, Digger Phelps.
Get ahead of him in the count, then pound the old man.
how do you plan the dugout thing? you say, "if he hits a hr..." and then he does? very good.
My dad was very confused by the dugout clearing. He pronounced it "the weirdest thing I've ever seen". I thought it was pretty entertaining.
Less entertaining was the terrible game the Rays played against the White Sox last night.
Wake- It beats the time I saw the Braves leave the field after the 2nd out of the inning thinking it was the 3rd in the glorious 80's.
F4* (sporting 34 with the pigskin) doing his thing at Tiger Trek last night======>
I saw Willie Stargell pull the "hidden ball" number on the Braves back in the woeful '70's.
I watched Glen Hubbard beat those Pirates in the 9th inning of both games of a double header.
I hate when IT helps me. I have spent all day so far trying to recover from their help.
Eddie, any chance the Braves leaving the field after two outs was just a strategy? Maybe they thought nobody would notice.
arrived just in time for...
BEASLEY!!!
HELLO KENNESAW GEORGIA!
and i'll follow that up with a Nick Fairley!
I left the field early once. Sadly I was the only one who made the error, making ME look like an idiot instead of the whole team.
McClouth needed that hit last night he's struggled since late last year.
The teams reaction was great.
What happened to Jeff Driskel? He turned out to be dumb.
We need to think outside the box in terms of recruiting, just like the coaches. Now, which hottie is willing to go undercover in Bambi garb, show up at each commitment announcement, and if the recruit chooses Bama, hand the recruit a bag of cash. Heck, we could let Jay G. scoop it with a photo. Recruiting is war!!!
wake - I think I have you beat, unfortunately I was the runner on 3rd. I was maybe 10 at the time and to this day I can't recall being more humiliated/embarrassed/horrified by anything else.
I've never left the baseball field early, but my only diagnosed concussion came in a basektball game were I was the only guy who ran back on defense and decided to try to jump and block a guy who could dunk...his elbow hit me on the top of the head then the back of my head was the first thing that hit the floor...but as Buddy from Night Court used to say "I'm feeling much better now"
Driskel made a good choice in terms of going somewhere to be successful as a QB, although I can't believe he is a life long Auburn fan.
Going to UF or Bama is a terrible choice.
UF > Bammer.
Stu,
The sign needs to say
"Betcha can't do it like me"
That is all.
SE Louisiana State Muddogs > Bama
UF = Bama
Going to Bama would be unforgivable, just like the coach who will not be named did. I didn't blame him leaving. It was where he left to that caused him to be excommunicated.
At least UF almost got their team colors right. And I have no problem with Urban Meyer. The more Kiffikin gave him crap, the more I liked him.
I'll miss lame kitten. He didn't have the chops to make it work anywhere other than USC.
Okay, it is time for desperate measures. Once my pizza arrives and I have lunch, I am going to have to do the unthinkable, show up at work.
I'd kick Urban in the teeth if I had a chance.
Somehow I always pictured Kiffikin as the kid walking around with the kick me sign taped to his back.
By the way, I think I am going to like Derek Dooley.
I wouldn't have minded if Auburn had hired Double D last year.
Urban Meyer is a classless bag of crap.
I once lost my britches while playing hockey. I was like 8 and one of the only guys tall enough to go over the boards with relative ease when going to the bench... so I thought I was awesome.
Well I was going over in my new brand new hockey pants (bought a few sizes too big of course) and they got caught on the boards and down they went.
I was ever so slightly embarrassed.
There actually isn't a SELSt. SELU, however, is in Hammond LA.
Home to the Golden Lions. I have a lot of friends that went there so that they can wait a semester, get grades up, then transfer to LSU.
Corndogs, every one of them.
Yeah you remember SELSU...they had that LB that played there about 8 years ago...really awkward kid, had this water fetish going on.
Speaking of Kiffin and Dooley, UT is going to really struggle this year. They have even less than they had last year to finish 7-6.
That guy could hit like no other Seanzie.
Seanzie's axis of evil:

1b. Tennessee
2. LSU
3. thUGA
4. USC
5. tOSU
That boy sure did love his mama.
So, reading up on this iPhone thing some of you have been talking about, it seems like the dude practically stole it. He saw the guy leave it, and didn't do the right thing and chase him down to give it back. Instead, he took something that he knew wasn't his, and has profited from it (not to mention ruined some guy's career). Pretty scummy, if you ask me.
Seanzie, you're very confused. Gainesville is the most terrible place on earth not named Tuscaloosa, and the people that love it are also Walmartians.
Gizmodo also acted unethically. I would be pretty pissed if I were Apple. They pretty much bought stolen property and then released all the ins and outs to the general public.
UF is my east team, if such a thing is allowed. I have lots of family that are alums and I used to be a die-hard.

PF- You are mostly correct, but the guy called Apple the next day and tried several times to give it back to them, but they didn't take his call seriously and acting like it was a hoax and after getting put off with trying to do the right thing, I believe he sold it to someone else. At least that is what other articles are claiming.
Your family is made up of jean shorts wearing Walmartians? I know people come from rough backgrounds, but I'm proud of you for making it out.
It's almost like the conversion of Saul. Except not really.
Apple is dumb, then.
The iPhone guy is probably fired. I don't know if Apple policy allowed him to take that out of plant. If it didn't, he is very fired.
I have been working to get some equipment donated to a nearby university. I am jumping through hoops to make it happen, but for good reason. Release something that is intellectual property and release yourself from your job.
Or its all some overly done hoax set up by Apple.
No way it's a hoax. The guy screwed up. If I were that dude, I'd have it tethered to my wrist.
Tommy, that is possible, but not likely. Apple is famous for their security. This was a big black eye for them.
Ooooh, a conspiracy theory. I like it. Good call, Mr.TD.
I have read stories about Apple security and developers working under sheets to keep anyone from seeing new devices. Apple protects stuff like this better than most companies. You just can't protect against stupid people, because they are so clever.
What SFC?!? That's right. FAMOUS for their security. No way he'd get that out unless it was a setup.
Or maybe they assumed their field test people were competent enough not to screw this up.
Why on earth did Apple not mandate their prototypes be password protected? I'm surprised they didn't have a fingerprint scanner on it.
I'll go with Seanzie ftw.
Did they turn it on or did they just take it apart? I haven't read the review, only seen the pictures.
PF, the many thing was the new hardware, which you can't password protect. The phone apparently disabled itself the next day.
I find the entire story humorous because I go through security training every year and every year the provide examples of goofs. More than likely, this will be one included this year.
They apparently had it on and running. What I read said they tried using the camera but it kept crashing.
So no keggers for the Apple development crew for a while I guess
