BONUS Photo Gallery

Hey everyone. My amateur camera and I rolled around the Athletic Corridor today and collected some scenery for you.

Auburn Arena is basically finished. It's time for landscaping and fixtures.

The new soccer/track complex is not basically finished.

PHOTO GALLERY

This is the entrance nearest Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum. This is where the high rollers will be entering the party.

A better shot of the large eagle that gives me the creeps. That eye followed me across the parking lot. I felt shame for some reason.

This is the side farthest from BEMC. This entrances faces the new quad that includes the new student housing and dining hall.

Here is perhaps the largest Auburn Creed on earth.

Please tell me there is a professor, administrator, former student, anyone more deserving of a residence hall. Aubie Hall? This is located directly north of the student ticket entrance.

Lots and lots and lots of bike racks.

Here's the track/soccer facility as seen from near the football practice fields.

Here it is from the track side.

Another angle for you engineering types.

Here's a hoopty version of the TIGER PROWL bus. I like this one better. As seen from Wire Road.

I haven't followed the Arena construction except on for what has been brought up on the HABOTN.

Learning that Harbert built the Arena explains how it got done so fast. For years Harbert has been the pre-eminent fast-track, cost-plus construction company in Ala. I'm sure that Harbert is still full of top AU grads ...and the Harbert family steps up for AU regularly.

Nice pics Homer.

Looking at the "Feeling the Heat" lineup, I notice more than a few who've been mysteriously absent lately. Who knows what's up with LUV, J-Z, IV, Aero (actually, I think we all do), just to name a few? Inquiring minds, well mine at least...

Luv is blocked out at work, apparently.

J-Z and Carmela are continuing their whirlwind romance at a kibbutz in Israel.

IV met a nice lady at the home and the spend their days enjoying tapioca.

Aero swoops in from time to time.

Quitstina, a RoF member, is apparently being held captive by her zoo animals and a new bidness venture.

hmmmmm ......we need somthing controversial or fun to discuss. Otherwise we'll end up with another Ding Dong discussion.

I've given up on $aban leaving the 'necks, so that leaves the Big 10 expansion. Barnhart has a good article with some choice, candid Jim Delaney's opinions on NCAA wealth redistribution.

1:33 PM
Blogger MiniWEG said...

I LOVE the huge Auburn Creed. It is one of my favorite things about Auburn. I really feel like it sets us apart from a lot of "others." Sorry, cheesy reminiscing over.
Aubie Hall? Seriously? It's gotta be temporary. Just like "Auburn Arena" and "Auburn Student Union" are temporary. When this recession lets up, some big shot will donate enough money to change all those temp names to whatever they decide. A lot of students my senior year wanted the union to be the Vincent "Bo" Jackson Student Union, which we would all shorten to "The Bo." However, contrary to popular belief, students have no say so in anything anymore. It's all about the money.

Aubie Hall sounds good to me. My favorite contribution of Aubie was the day he stole the 4-wheeler from the grounds crew at Mississippi State and secruity was chasing him around the grassy areas (now enclosed) beyond the north end zone. Fortunately, they didn't tase him, but did eject him from the game.

The Bo sounds fabulous.
