Tyrik Rollison: We hardly knew ye
Hey everyone. Just a quick note to give you official word that Tyrik Rollison has been granted his release and will transfer.
We believe he's headed for Sam Houston State. We have not yet confirmed that.
What can be said about Rollison? Some will say he was a failed prospect and it's difficult to argue with that assessment. The depth chart at quarterback filled very quickly with the arrival of Cam Newton. Auburn is aggressively recruiting at least two major high-school prospects. Barrett Trotter and Clint Moseley have considerable upside.
There's little room for a true freshman who loses significant development time to suspension. Period. That's a terrible way to make a first impression.
My best guess: Tyrik learns from what happened at Auburn and keeps himself straight at his next stop, which will be closer to home ... and his support system.

It's better with Norm.
Norm needs a theme song ... Mariano Rivera has "Enter Sandman" ... Trevor Hoffman has "Hells Bells" ... Jonathan Papelbon has "Wild Thing" as he runs in and that Dropkick Murphys song when he warms up.
Maybe Jay G can give us a thread to choose a flip song for Norm, and then have Norm post it around 197 (and similarly situated pre-flip posts) to get us fired up for the flip.
Is it that Norm needs a page flip theme song, or do we just want theme music for the page turn itself?
Oh whatevs. Nonsense flips are vastly underrated.
i propose 'Hashpipe' by Weezer for Norm's flip music. it just seems appropriate to me.
Ehyou, I would try to respond to your 12:12 post, but I've already shown that I can't be trusted to quote movies accurately (at least not while sober). Scott no function beer well without.
Norm's song.
I will always be grateful for Pat Dye changing the attitude at Auburn.
I liked Doug Barfield, but he was a peanut butter and jelly sandwich without the jelly. We had some of the best runningbacks in the history of college football and managed to be middle of the pack most of his tenure.
My pants story:
Norm: Well, I'm on the phone with Bob, and I realize right then and there that I need to return this pair of pants. So, I'm off to the store.
Hot Wife: What happened to Bob Saccamano?
Norm: Well, nothing. His part of the story is done. (Hot Wife covers her face with her hands - showing her difficulty coping with Norm) So I'm waiting for the subway, It's not coming, so I decided to hoof it through the tunnel.
Hot Wife: Alright, well, now that's something..
Norm: Well, I don't know if I lost track of time - or what, but the next think I knew..
Hot Wife: A train is bearing down on you?!
Norm: No, I slipped - and fell in the mud. Ruining the very pants I was about to return.
Hot Wife: I don't understand.. you were wearing the pants you were returning?
Norm: Well, I guess I was..
Hot Wife: What were you gonna wear on the way back?
Norm: Hot Wife, are you listening?! I didn't even get there!
Wells - that was either an incredible stroke of luck on your part, or you've lurked awhile and are at least somewhat aware of a history having to do with me and that song.
That's #87 on my list, Norm!
The boss's good looking college aged daughter just called me 'sir'.
That is her being respectful and polite, ehyou. Don't get any ideas. Bosses hate their employees extracurricularing with their daughters.
I did lurk for a little bit, but that was mostly a stroke of pure genius luck.
I absolutely love that song.
ehyou...she's digging your cheese.
Well, my idea was that I must be getting old.
PF- Haven't you seen that Heinekin commercial? Clearly you're supposed to order two of them when said boss walks away briefly and then you're on the ins with his daughter.
ebro, that just don't sound right.
Check out the spillcam. Now that's entertainment.
Frankly all these hearings in congress aren't getting anything done. Its just people sitting around and shooting the bird droppings.
I've always thought congressional hearings make as much sense as this one did.
/end politico discussion
SOCCER
I love it.
Steve, did you see the latest burns?
Thanks PF. I am glad someone finally took my advice and set a match to the stuff.
Champions League Final on Saturday.
Of course, the alternative is to just let the gulf fill up with oil and we will never need oil from the middle east again.
I'll take Germans over Italians
You've made a wise choice. My money would be on Inter, but I'll probably be pulling for Bayern.
I still find it hard to believe that the group that did Jungle Boogie, also did Celebration.
MTD - do you also find it hard to believe that the group that brought you "Misled" ("she's as heavy, as a Chevy" it just doesn't get any better than that) also brought you "Joanna"?
2 pants stories ...
1. As a freshly minted 16 year old (a few months before I would switch schools and meet Norm), I went to a cookout on a Sunday night following church. A pile of teenagers were on a trampoline jumping around. I joined them.
Less than a minute later as I was rising upward off the mat, a girl was coming back down and her foot landed in the pocket of my pants. It shredded them down the left leg and took them down to my ankles, leaving me mortified in my tighty-whities. I had to try to hold them together and drive across town to my house.
2. In the early 1990s when I was a rookie HS football official, there was an old-timer who was the veritable Old Spice Man (a different woman in every port). I was told the story on him of an evening he spent in south Alabama officiating a game, then driving off to his local woman's place -- more than an hour from the Gump. He stumbled back in the middle of the night. Before he crept into his bedroom to join his wife in bed, he realized that he had left all of his officiating gear at the other woman's home. That would lead to an interrogation because his wife always washed the uni first thing Saturday a.m. Instead of concocting a story, he took the unusual approach of driving an hour and change back to the other woman's home and back home again, arriving at dawn's first light. He slipped out of clothes and into bed, just in time for his wife to wake up and ask him where his gear was.
"Celebration" brings back cheerleader memories for Norm.
Yes, Norm, I do.
West Memphis is a nasty place.
Jet - maybe we have different memories of that song where I'm concerned. I tend to think of something involving M.L. and maybe A.H. Though, there were cheerleaders in the crowd.
Differing memories of events 25 years old? No way.
More than 25. We're talking about '81.
Norm was a hs cheerleader? What a ninny!
In 1981, I was fresh off the mint.
PF - nope, I wasn't (not that there's anything wrong with that). He just said it brought back cheerleader memories. At our school in those days, there were only female cheerleaders. Actually, I can't recall a male cheerleader at any high school way back then.
No male cheerleaders at my high school. That was ten years ago for me.
I now know what is wrong with these kids these days. They didn't live through disco, the don't know what suffering really is.
I recently got some correspondence about my 20 yr HS reunion. Sheesh.
I passed out in a ditch in Tiajuana, have watched drug deals happen in East Point/College Park, Ga, was almost shot by a kid who decided to recreate Columbine at my school a month after it happened, and have generally cheated death more times than a human should be allowed. Dangerous situations do not bother me. There are, however, three places I will never go again. West Memphis, East Saint Louis, and Bosier City. Those places creep me out.
PF, that pales in comparison to disco. Listen to an hour of Blondie singing heart of glass, then you will know suffering. They don't even allow the use of disco against prisoners at Guantanamo.
C'mon Steve, don't lie. Your favorite songs are "I Will Survive" and "Night on Disco Mountain".
Music died in the mid 70s.
My 25th HS reunion is this summer. I will not be attending, as there is a better than average chance that J-Z will be there.
Don't ask for directions in East St. Louis, you'll end up with 'honky lips' painted on your station wagon.
Mountain? I'll listen to me some Mountain. They had a song called Mississippi Queen that really rocked.
SFC, no it didn't, but it was on life support for a few years in the 80's.
Ehyou, don't tempt me to quote another movie inaccurately.
In the early 90s the grunge thing showed a little promise, but not much.
MS Queen is a jammin' diddy. love that song.
if there's a party i'm sure J-Z will be there.
ScoCho - do it and see if we can guess it and correct you.
Got my HD camera!
Yessssssssss.
Excuse me, homes.
What it is, bro?
Sorry folks, park's closed. Moose out front shoulda told ya.
You think you hate it now? Wait'll you drive it.
That could lodge under the skin and cause a nasty infection.
And with that, there's a quick errand and yardwork at home waiting on me. Catch you losers later.
Oh my gosh. After being down 9-3, the Braves score 7 in the bottom of the 9th to win 10-9. Unbelievable!!
Walk off granny. I would have loved to have been at that one.
Loosers?
Reds
Young people don't understand suffering. I remember Watergate. We had 4 TV stations. Watergate was on all 4. Ooh the humanity.
I remember Dynasty. It was on the only TV we had at the time. Turrible.
wow wow wow braves.......
Now some AU Baseball Tonight
Wow...and I thought the ending to last night's Braves game was good!
Is Auburn on tv tonight?
Hey, Hotties!
Winding down time...
Dynasty was enjoyable for its hokeyness--one slamming door after another.
I could slam a couple of doors right now.
An observation received moments ago from AU rising sophomore El Turbo ...
"Nothing says tradition and excellence quite like standing in front of Dollar General, wearing black flip flops, white knee high socks, red athletic shorts, wife beater, scraggly redneck beard, and Dale Jr. cap, while screwing your freshly bought UAT sign on to the front of your 1977 beat up Chevy Impala."
sadly no tv for AU this weekend, i guess when the tv schedule was made before the season no one expected the SEC West to come down to Ole Miss and AU
My folks were nite-time drama junkies and there was of course only one TV. Dallas, Dynasty, Knotts Landing, Falcon Crest, etc. Man I hated those shows but I guess I never missed one.
Just picked up a new Camera today as well Jay. I cheeped out though. Cannon FS100. Now its up to the eBay gods to deliver it.
fearless.true....whattup homey!
great end to the Braves game today. whew! i thought they were toast when Hanson gave up that grand salami in the 2nd. glad i was wrong.
Bryan: I really like that camera. It's easy to use and will not fail you.
A couple things to keep an eye on. I had issues with wind noise (can be fixed with a cheap workaround) and lack of image stabilization.
Should be awesome for you, though!
I was able to transfer some HD video to my MacBook Pro without even a slight issue.
A lot of people have been complaining about problems. None here. At least not yet.
I'm super super super enthusiastic about getting legit, HD video to you. Should be fun in Hoover and Sandestin!
Fearless.True: The upside is that all Auburn games in the SEC Tournament will be on TV and on ESPN3.com.
GET SOME!
Jet, my partners and I develop DG stores all around No.Ga. and are occasionally obligated to attend the "not so grand" opening. Beyond the ubiquitous UGA gear present on the patrons, Bama gear is the next most common at the festivities. Bama gear is not nearly as common in No Ga. as many other schools, but it sure seems to make it to the DG (aka mini-Walmart).
November 1973 ..@ the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago ...saw Mountain (featuring Leslie West).
Nantucket Sleighride and Mississippi Queen .....Get some.
that they will jgt, the downside however is that on day 1 I will be in the middle of nowhere and the rest of it I will be in training for my summer job so I will miss that
You'll always have the HABOTN, homey.
that i do, don't know why blogger decided to post my true name the past couple of posts
Reading all the Bonnaroo posts earlier, my brain kept substituting Bonaire.
I want to go to Bonaire!
got the radio on here at the Hizzie, Rod will be describing this game to me tonight.
ole miss pitcher is apparently very good, a lot of strike outs, we'll see how the good pitching matches up with the no.1 offense in the league
scoreless through 1
after 2:
Auburn 020
Ole Mess 000
Gamache takes the first pitch of the third and puts it in the opposite field bleachers, 1-0 Good Guys
Hello ladies and gentlemen. You too Pf. Been in the lovely town of Cartersville, GA all week.
Hoopie,
It was nice meeting you and sharing a couple of drinks.
Anything cool going on? Aubie hall isn't all that bad. He is an Auburn icon after all.
Just went to Yahoo so that I could check my fantasy baseball and noticed something strange. If any of you visit Yahoo you have probably noticed the "trending now" section in the top right corner. In the #1 spot was Pee-Wee Herman. That's not just a name that pops up. What has he done now?
ole miss loaded the bases in the bottom of the 3rd, but we got a Double play and got out of it still 1-0 AU
after four still 1-0 Auburn
Anybody know of a radio station in B'ham that I could get the AU game on?
Thanks for the scores Fearless
nothing changes through 5, a couple ole miss hits but luckie gets out of it
three run homer for ole miss, 3-1
The 6th & 7th are always nervous innings. The bats have to wake up and knock Pomeranz out of the game.
hope they can do that miller, runners at the corners with 1 out
C-Mac gets an RBI, Fletch scores, Caldwell to third, still one out
maybe pee-wee lost his bike again.
gamache strikes out looking with the bases loaded rod and andy didn't like the call much.
2 outs or inning ender?
it was the 2nd out, but Hargett struck out as well. Onto the bottom of the 7th, Luckie has been replaced by Brad Hendrix
3-2 through 8. Top of the lineup due up:Fradejas, Mummey, Fletcher
Tidbits for you guys 1)QB Frazier will commit pubicly to the good guys after Big Cat Weekend( He has committed to the coaches already). 2) Donta Aycock will be leaving the team. 3) Looks like Region to the Turds.
with runners 1st and 2nd nobody out and Fletcher, Morris and Caldwell due up, Ole Miss goes to their freshman closer
Pee-Wee is doing live shows now. I think he just started like 20 nights in LA before a tour. Looks pretty funny, actually.
What's the word onDA? I heard that rumor earlier.
runners 2nd and 3rd, two out, KP pinch hits for Caldwell
2 outs, runners at 2nd and 3rd.... KP pinch hitting...
KP hits a BOMB to right, 5-3, Auburn
Pinh hit
3 run home for AU
Holy Cow!!! Go Tigers!!!
KP HOMERUN!!!
thats his 15th, and it couldn't have come at a better moment
casey popped out to end the top of the 8th, Austin Hubbard in to pitch
Gilmer in as defensive replacement at 3b
5-3 AU headed to the 9th.
double play to end the eighth!
Is anyone listening live out of the area?
West winner has hosted a regional for the last while...
Who was bantering with me about the Braves not too long ago, and I said it was too early to pass judgement? Eddie? See.It's too early.
Headed to the bottom of the 9th.
5-3 AU.
Top 9, 2 outs, Gilmer on 2nd...
Fradejas k's to end the frame...
Bottom 9 coming up...
Dmiller:
I agree with an earlier post that D ayecock leaves the team before fall practice.
AU has quit recruitng Regions all together.
Frazier commits after BCW.
The top lineman in LA has AU way ahead, but he plays at the same school as Reed did and his coach is determined not to let another player leave the state and go to AU.
Flyout to Mummey, 1 down
Flyout to center
1 out in the 9th.
How many of the three games with Ole Miss do we have to win to stay first in the division?
Cincy...two out of three definitely means we win the West...for whatever that is worth.
The coach in LA won't have much sway with the OT... Reed will have more pull than the coach will.
cincy to win the division we must win 2 and Arky must lose one
K for hubbard, 2 down
Fearless. We own the tiebreaker. With ArkansasIf we win 2, we win the West...
FINAL. One win for the west crown, lets go
K! Ballgame!!!
War Eagle!!!
Does Ole Miss own the tiebreaker with Arkansas, or would it go to the second tiebreaker in event of a three way tie?
WAR DAMN BASEBALL.
War Eagle!!
Fearless:
I believe Au needs to win the series and they will win the west. If Arky wins their series they will have the same record as AU, but AU holds the tie breaker so therefore AU wins the West. it would be nice for Arky to lose one game though.
Thanks for the updates guys. Good win.
Arky-Vandy game on
www.channelsurfing.net for free if anyone interested. They just got started about 20 minutes ago.
there won't be a three way tie, if arky sweeps and we lose the next two, they win the west. Ole Miss will have to win the next two and have arky lose two out of three for them to win
I should say if Arky sweeps their series they tie AU but lose on the tie breaker.
WooHoo.....loving me some Auburn baseball!
WTC we seem to have some of the same sources
Anyone heard the rumor of a very large donation that could be made soon in order for AU to build a 100yd indoor facility?
I hate to hear that DA is leaving the team. I thought he had some nice potential but i guess he sees the writing on the wall. Dyer is going to be the next AU superstar RB and we will possibly be getting another in this class. Good luck to him.
I think it's odd that the walmartians would want Region. I'm not for bashing recruits, but karma is a biznitch.
Weeman-after I saw your post, I made a few calls and got a little more info on it.
Even thogh Regions says he and grimes 'are cool' he might want to ask Grimes again.
Coaches feel they will be pretty solid for thenext 3-4 years on the DL with who they have coming in and who they got last year.
What's happening in that UK/LSU/UT/Bama race for the last two spots. All tied up cooming in today. I saw some scores early had UGa and Mstate putting hurts on UK and LsU, respectively, but never saw finals.
I know bama and uga won
Oh no. DA is leaving. Say it aint so. He was on the same express as Tyrik!. Whats the reason.
Also, WTC. I have heard from decent source, the source of "Da Bull's (Freeman) problem. Have you guys discussed?
PF...
Eddie is a ninny.
Brooks Conrad is not.
SW,
We haven't discussed the problems. Do you know something you are at liberty to share.
NTUz!
Sponge-it has been awhile since that subject was discussed. Ihave heard some things but nothing worth telling yet. Lots of stuff floating around, but as of today, he is still on the team.
Sponge...
It was mentioned but not discussed. Speculation is encouraged.
There is a new post. No, really, there is.
What I heard involved a young lady and accusations. However, the reason he's still on the team is there is some question of the validity of the accusations. And some evidence that it was sort of a setup! Anyway, just checking to see if others had heard something along this line. It's kind of out there, but comes from reasonable person.
Oh no, Eltoro, Say it Ain't so!
